Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the notesiest notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cowsiest cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: STRUCTURE!
-
Topic of the Day:
Black Widow
Dear Evan Hansen
Free Guy
In the Heights
A Quiet Place Part II

Today, I'm going to test drive a Nissan Versa. It's not my first choice of a car, but we'll see what it's like. I kind of don't want it because where I work, they have five or six of them and mine would be another one. I'd like something different...just because. :)
-
I'd really like the Subaru Impreza, however, but I've sent them a couple of messages through their website, AND a couple of e-mails asking specific questions, BUT I've never gotten any response. Nothing...except just what look like automatically generated e-mails. :P
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, I thought you had already bought a car! Didn't you post pictures of it?
-
These reactions to the Rittenhouse verdict from the far-right asses in Congress - Cawthorn and Gaets for two - are terrifying. They should all be executed.
-
This morning I must make a trip to my pharmacy for the Percocet prescription for Monday's "procedure." While I'm very happy the cancer treatments have now begun, I am looking forward to the procedure with the same enthusiasm I would have for getting my fingernails torn out with no anesthesia.
-
BK, that Beecham recording of La Boheme is right up there in my book with Maria Callas' La Scala recording of Tosca from around the same time as the two greatest Puccini recordings.
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I have nothing of interest to report.
-
I am still so angry about the jury verdict yesterday.
-
Angry and sad for our country.
-
It's time to step out to the pharmacy. I really do not want to go.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I want a lazy day. But it’s already overbooked.
-
I made the decision the other day to decorate for Christmas this year. Yesterday I had the inspiration to put the decorations in my office room since it’s where I spend most of my time. I must now clean out that room before I can do anything.
-
TOD:
In the Heights
Barb & Star Go to the Vista del Mar
Jimmy Carter: Rock and Roll President
The Green Knight
The Invisible Man
Respect
-
Off to the day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I, too, have nothing to report.
-
Except that this is my last free day before Tech Sunday and Hell Week and Opening Night...all within Thanksgiving Week, which is insane.
-

Two of the classic opera recordings of all time, along with, perhaps, a couple of Toscanini’s and the Furtwängler Ring Cycle — all of a certain age, and listening experiences like no other.
-
The two taxi rides to the pharmacy cost me around $25.00, and the Percocet? It cost me $0.15
-
I just saw DR Jrand71's Facebook about his uncle. I'm so sorry.
-
Condolences for DR Jrand71 and family.
-
Holding space today for DR Jrand71 and family.
-
Hugs and ❤️ for JRand and family.
-
Two!
-
A day of waiting. Too many folks out today.
-
The line at Costco for gas is endless.
-
I may get to thr halfway point in Cloud Cuckoo Land before I can fill up.
-
DR George, I thought you had already bought a car! Didn't you post pictures of it?
That was the Subaru Impreza. I didn't buy that one. I was just given information about it, but that dealer hasn't responded to any of my questions, so I don't think it's happening.
-
Angry and sad for our country.
Ditto and Ditto! :(
-
Jrand, I'm so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. :'(
-
The gas at Costco has dropped to $2.65 a gallon. Here's hoping it continues to drop after Thanksgiving.
-
I managed to get through a few stores without spending too much.
-
Costco was crazy. At home was crazy. Walmart was crazy.
-
After I came in from my outing, I took off my shoes, read yesterday's mail, paid a bill, and then had a lie-down for several hours. To my complete surprise, Thatch climbed into my lap, lay down and napped for over an hour. DR Laura's prophecy from four years ago, just about this time when I feared things with Thatch would never work out, has come true.
-
I'm in line to get the last oil change for my Escort. Someone ahead of me is getting some other kind of servicing, so it'll be about another 10 minutes. behind me. :P
-
I was going to leave and come back later, but then someone else just got right behind me, so I'm stuck.

Sweet!
-
Good boy, Thatch.
-
Back to The Damned. Game of Thrones has got nothing on this.
-
And it's good to see Ingrid Thulin with a great role, a real Lady MacBeth. I don't remember seeing her in anything other than Ingmar Bergman's movies.
-
Maurice Jarre's score for The Damned is beautiful. But why is a Viennese waltz so appropriate to signify death?
-
Ingrid Thulin is in THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE with Mr Glenn Ford - but her voice belongs to Angela Lansbury. It is most disconcerting from the start.
-
Thanks everyone.
Yes, my uncle got to the hospice place last night and last than thirty minutes later he was gone.
-
My sister and I just finished the consultation with the Fun Home director.
Everything is set as our uncle wanted it.
So....I am sure we forgot something & someone - but we will just have to see what happens.
Visitation/service on Wednesday morning - then a trip out to the cemetery for a brief moment....he is going into a crypt instead of the ground, and they don't do that while you're there.
SO there you are.
-
All of this talk about DR GEORGE and his car.
What everyone really wants to know is: Did you get the chicken house fixed?!!!
-
Maurice Jarre's score for The Damned is beautiful. But why is a Viennese waltz so appropriate to signify death?
Because it worked for Ravel?
Have you ever seen Balanchine's fantastic, macabre ballet about Death and the Maiden, La Valse, using two Ravel waltz suites, La Valse and Valse Nobles et Sentimentales?
-
WOW!
These cats are amazing.

-
I made a great dinner tonight: baked chicken breast and succotash.

Nice kitties.

It just works too well for anyone.
-
Starting the new miniseries based on The Stand.
-
Hope it's closer than the first one, which I really enjoyed because of the actors, but not really because of the script.
-
And too much was edited for commercial TV.
-
Three!

Sad, though it is good he didn't have to stay there long :(
-
DR Jraand, my condolences for the loss of your dear uncle. It is wonderful that you have been able to give him love and support these last days.
-
I have discovered that my ancient laptop does not meet the minimum technical requirements to support upgrading to Windows 11. Which is not the end of the world.
-
Definitely not the end of the world ;D
-
Cute photo with you, DR Jane, on FB with the berner.
-
Sorry to hear about Jrand's uncle.
-
In other news, I'm up - have been up since one trying to catch up. I was up at six for two hours, too. So, seven hours of sleep.
-
I'll be joining Robert Yacko for food at four since we're not seeing the youth production of Fiddler on the Roof.
-
Not our usual Vitello's either.
-
The suspense is killing me...
-
Where will bk sup?
-
A rubber Bhudda.
It was a good year?
-
:)
-
Cute photo with you, DR Jane, on FB with the berner.
Thanks.
-
We earned points towards a free hotel stay and they were about to expire.
-
To use those points we booked a weekend stay in downtown Portland. Even though it is close we haven't been downtown in a few years.
-
The hotel gave us a very nice upgrade to a suite with a dining table and sitting area. Last night we picked up Thai food and ate here with Keith's cousin and his wife. For temporary medical reasons they were both uncomfortable eating in a restaurant.
-
:)
;D
-
Today we had a nice breakfast out and spent the day walking around and shopping.
-
Thanks everyone.
Yes, my uncle got to the hospice place last night and last than thirty minutes later he was gone.
{{{HUGS!!}}}

Since we are meeting our good friend and her boyfriend for dinner tonight we went to Powell's Books to buy her girls their Chanukah gifts. Since the boyfriend has a son the girls call their brother, he also gets a Chanukah gift.
-
It has been a long while since we have shopped for gifts in a book store. It was fun :)
-

As well as can be expected by a bunch of amateurs. ;)

This was taken from my niece's bedroom on the second floor of her and her mom's house:

:)) That's definitely inventive!
-
Thank you for the photographic evidence DR GEORGE.
-
Thank you DR JANE & MR BK and all the other HHW clientele.....all your thoughts and vibes are most appreciated.
I was surprised to learn - as the owner of the Fun Home put it: "The county is wide open - no restrictions!"
It's the Old West out there, folks!
-
Good evening.
-
Hugs, JRand. I'm glad everything was prepared ahead of time.
-
I hosted a group meeting at the church today. So I was busy baking. Kerry's mixer was whirling today.
-
I barely slept at all last night, so hopefully I'll sleep from exhaustion today.
-
Back from a faboo dinner at the Smokehouse - had my trio o' things - cup o' clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, and wedge salad with thousand island dressing - oh, and garlic cheese bread, of course.
-
Tonight, we watched Tick... Tick... BOOM.
We really enjoyed it. I thought it was very well realized.
-
:)
-
Tomorrow is an early morning. Good night, friends.
-
It has been a long while since we have shopped for gifts in a book store. It was fun :)
It's a wonderful feeling.
-
Back from too much dancing.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-

Good to read that.
-
Watching My Neighbor Totoro and just ordered some frozen yogurt for a sweet - should be here in twenty minutes or so.
-
Back to the Stand. I'll watch the first two episodes then head to bed.
-
The first episodes of The Stand were good. Looking forward to the rest.
-
But I need to head off to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening.
What an expression 💜
-

Awww.
-
We had a fun evening out with our friends and an invite to Thanksgiving dinner at their house. Yay, more time with the kids again :)
-
They thought we were going to be out of town or would have invited us sooner.
-
'night
-
Jack, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your uncle. You and all of your family are in my prayers. 👏
-
No one else here.
-
Still page 4.
-
I am not in the mood to post.
-
The other day I watched the film, NINE.
-
I had never seen the film before.
-
I thought Daniel Day-Lewis was very good.
-
Several of the women also gave good performances.
-
One more post.
-
P A G E F I V E !
-
Hi, Tom.
-
However, I thought the film was as dull as rice pudding.
-
I like several of the songs in the show.
-
However, I thought the film was as dull as rice pudding.
You're not alone. ::)
-
;)
-
Unfortunately, eventually they stop singing.
-
Hello, George.
-
I, also, watched (for a while) Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS.
-
That was one bad movie.
-

I've never seen that. I guess I never will. ;D
-
Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins.
-
With Michelle Pfeiffer and (of course) Helena Bonham-Carter.
-
They billed it as a comedic thriller. I wish it had been either one, or the other.
-

I think it is available on Hulu.

Then, I really won't see it because I don't have Hulu.
-
Good night.
Good night, Tom.
-
Today, I went to look at a Nissan Versa.
-
I didn't test drive it, because it was an automatic, and I'm looking for a manual transmission.
-
But I sat in it and got a little feel for it.
-
I kind of liked it, but I don't think I'll get one because at my work, they have four or five Versas as staff cars, and I'd like something different so that I won't have to think about which car is mine. ::)
-
I loathed the film of Nine.
-
But I did love the film 10.
