Well, you've read the notes, the notes did not take its own advice, and now it is time for you to post until the cows who didn't take their own advice come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GALVANIZE!
-
Tonight, I'm working concessions for God Is a Scottish Drag Queen: A Christmas Special (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/gisdq-a-christmas-special/)! When "God" was came to Olympia the last time, the show was so funny! I don't doubt that this'll be a great night, also! I'm really looking forward to it! :D
-
Got the commentary written, so that's done.
-
Good early morning to all
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Just starting to listen to the new West Side Story soundtrack. So far, so good. But they haven't started singing yet.
-
I believe I read that they mostly used the NY Philharmonic, with some additions by the LA Phil (Gustavo Dudamel conducts).
-
In response to DR John G.'s query last night about what to eat for supper, I neglected to offer this:
A pork and hash browns nativity scene!
-
Your club sounds nice, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a very poor night of sleep.
-
DR Jrand71, I am happy to learn that your uncle's cats will go to the same home. I'm not sure I can call my three "bonded," but I hope, if they survive me, they end up in a new home together.
-
I must step out to my pharmacy this morning.
-
Your club sounds nice, DR Ron Pulliam.
It seems that way to me, but I don't really have much in common with any of the folks who go there. They are all from here and grew up together and went to school together.
I spent eight of my first nine years here, but we moved away in 1957. I went to school through third grade and have renewed acquaintance with some of the classmates I had then. They are nice people with their own families and friends.
I suppose if I haunted the club's bar and became a local character that I might get to know more folks. But...no.

Do they groom one another? Do they share their eating bowls? Do they all get on your bed to sleep?
If so, regardless of how they may relate otherwise, I'd say they're bonded.
-
Good morning.
-
I have to keep telling myself that it is Friday.
When I woke up, it felt like Saturday.
Then, I began wondering if I had completely misjudged yesterday and, having done so, completely missed the birthday dinner for my cousin's fiancee, Sharon.
I can see from the bottom of my computer that it is the 3rd, and Sharon's birthday is the 3rd.
My perception of time can be fickle, at times.

Is this how you are spending your days, DR singdaw, creating fabulous things out of food?
No wonder you are so tuckered so early each evening.
-
Good morning.
Hey, there! Hi,there! Ho,there!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I DVR'ed Annie and will get around to watching it sometime. No hurry on it, I'm enjoying reading and hearing all the reactions from everyone else.
-
Today is the busy one. I have to be out of here at noon or a little before to top off the gas tank (price as of yesterday was holding at $3.36 which it's been at for a few weeks), then go play a memorial service, then come back home and get ready to play a show.
-
TOD
Not much, these last few days and the upcoming couple of days. Mostly catching up on TV stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing how they've handled the season finale of La Brea which has been a fun mind bender.
-
At the awards ceremony for people who did not take their own advice, I expect to receive at least an honorable mention.
-
This morning I woke from the first dream in a week that I could solidly remember. It involved time travel, and I ultimately couldn't figure out what was what.
-
I did record "Annie", but I am highly skeptical about watching it.
I endured the Huston version. I liked the Disney version.
I saw a live production in San Francisco. It was presumed to be pre-Broadway as a revival. John Schuck portrayed Warbucks. This version added a new song for Warbucks, which I thought added nothing to his character. That said, it was a thrill to see the show intact as it was meant to be seen. It had a non-revisionist cast which was perfectly rrehearsed to put the songs over very well. This particular company did not go to Broadway so far as I know.
I loved that live version.
-
Love this one for the season:

DOS.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had more than 9 hours of sleep. Feels nice.
-
Weird jumble of dreams, several of which involved Mom’s death, a gigantic fryer and a musical number about that fryer.
-
Well. I'm willing to step out but my body says no, I'm not, in sickly ways that bother and anger me. I'm staying in.
-
So, I spent some time on the phone with my health insurance, trying to find another physical therapist.
-
In response to DR John G.'s query last night about what to eat for supper, I neglected to offer this:
A pork and hash browns nativity scene!
Love it
-
DR Jrand71, thanks for answering my question yesterday about Being the Ricardos.

Sondheim Unplugged is back in stock at Broadway Records. They say it will ship sooner than if you order from Amazon. But either way, it sounds like it will be good.
-
Advice is cheap.
-
But sometimes it is invaluable.
-
The change at the end of ANNIE LIVE! that DR GEORGE was talking about was very weird.
So Miss Hannigan NEVER got a comeuppance...... And the guy playing FDR wasn't so hot.....
Annie kept singing flat but her acting was OKAY.....not any better than some I have seen in local theatres....and not as good as some.
I liked Harry Connick - and everyone else was okay. Grace was a bit affected.....she was singing behind the beat in "I'm Gonna Like It Here" and it got to be very annoying.
All in all - I give it a big okay- ..... I liked the sets and most of the costumes.
-
I'm just not quite ready for Hip Hop Annie choreography....and I hate the jumps and flips and gymnastics......ugh.
-
My sister and I have been doing estate stuff this morning.....
-
Antony Sher has died.
-
PROFANITY ALERT
This story about Sher in King Lear comes from the Guardian and it made me laugh/cry.
“Most of his career was at the RSC after he joined in 1982 to play a capering, clownish Fool to Michael Gambon’s mighty King Lear. He stole a few notices there, too, and allegedly had to be reminded by Gambon that Shakespeare’s play was called King Lear, not “King Lear plus a cunt in a red nose”. He was the first Fool ever killed on stage by his master; not without feeling, one imagined, this act of smother-love.”
-
Your club sounds nice, DR Ron Pulliam.
It does.
-
My stomach is a complete mess today. I hate it.
-

Darn. I ordered it from Amazon.
-
Antony Sher has died.
I had read the poor man was in a terminal state weeks ago. Was that here?
-
I'm just not quite ready for Hip Hop Annie choreography....and I hate the jumps and flips and gymnastics......ugh.
I know, right?? And I forgot to mention that the hip-hop dancers were all wearing modern clothes while dancing with/behind the kids in period costumes??
-
My stomach is a complete mess today. I hate it.
~~~Tummy Vibes for Larry!!~~~
-
Feeling a bit sluggish this afternoon.
It may be because I'm kind of congested today. Or, it might be because I had baked catfish, grits, cabbage and a sweet potato for lunch. I ate every bite.
-
The mail run to the post office was a letdown...just one thing...a bill I had already paid. They e-mail me the bill, and then mail it, too. Isa id the heck with it this month. I printed out the bill Wednesday morning and put payment in the mail with my holiday cards.
Stlll haven't put up anything festive for the season.
Sigh.
-
I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep.
-
Antony Sher has died.
I had read the poor man was in a terminal state weeks ago. Was that here?
Yes. That was when you recommended Year with the King, which I loved.
-
Lots of work to do today. Glad I have the day off.
-
Onward!
-
Tres!
-
Back, and ready to enjoy an hour and forty-five minutes of R&R before heading up to the theatuh.
-
Let the cookie baking begin.
-
Wow! Those are so cool, John!
-
German Springerle. I bake them tomorrow. They have to sit for a day before they go in the oven.
-
Wow! Those are so cool, John!
And thank you, George.
-
I broiled a couple of sirloins yesterday and ate one.....so I have the other one to eat this evening.
-
I had to put on a long sleeved shirt.
-
Love the cookies, DR John G.!
Are you doing the alcohol saturated fruit cakes this year?
-
I had to put on a long sleeved shirt.
To broil the sirloins, or to eat one?
-
Are you doing the alcohol saturated fruit cakes this year?
No. The doctors have ruined all the fun for me by telling me that dried fruit causes kidney stones in me. No more whiskey nut cake. I do still have a little left, swimming in bourbon.
-
I did not like working with the dough in the photo above, which is Mom's traditional recipe. I also have another ball of dough from the recipe, which will likely make another two dozen cookies. But I don't have time to work them up today. So, I'm going to try some shortbread using the rolling pin. Found this recipe.
Sorry, DR John G. Doctors tend to do that.
-
I did too, DR George, on your kind alert. But I placed my order direct this morning and cancelled the Amazon order. Their post did say that Amazon would be supplied for shipping by the end of next week, so it will work out in the end.
-
Friday evening greetings! I shopped in person at Kroger today and found everything needed for the 2 meetings next week for which I’m on the hospitality committee. How did I manage that for 2 functions on consecutive days? Anyway, the party favors are done for Monday’s luncheon and snacks and beverages purchased for Tuesday’s DAR meeting.
-
Well hello, there!
-
Sounds like a lot of work, DR Ginny! 'Tis the season.
-
German Springerle. I bake them tomorrow. They have to sit for a day before they go in the oven.
Very ambitious, DR John G! I used to buy a bag of these from Central Pastry for Richard - until he found out how expensive they were and said he could do without them.
-
Sounds like a lot of work, DR Ginny! 'Tis the season.
Yes, DR Singdaw, at this time of year it seems every time I leave the house there’s something I have to take with me.
Yes, DR Singdaw, at this time of year it seems every time I leave the house there’s something I have to take with me.
Usually, it's my memory that I forget to take with me.
-
I'd like to see Eurydice at the theater tomorrow. But there is no time.
-
Good evening.
-
Enjoying tonight. I have to work the next 3 Saturdays.
-
~~~ROOF VIBES~~~ for DR Laura!!!!

Who, me??

A lull.

Good night, friends.

I am home from the birthday dinner. It was a grand occasion and the food was excellent!!! Imagine! In Edgefield SC, a restaurant with great food!!!
I had blackened snapper with pico de gallo tomatoes topping and rice. Very tasty.
-
I took this snap of Edgefield's Christmas lights. It's the main square.
-
Tres jolie, n'est-ce pas??!!
-
Golly. Started page 4.
-
Hoorah! I found out how to make big letters!!!
-
It's just me...and me alone. It's too dark for even my shadow.
-
Ushered for Jaston Williams’s Blood and Holly. He rewrote and restructured a lot from last year.
-
Some of the new material was very funny. But he hasn’t found a successful conclusion yet.
-
The crowd looked light at the beginning but he ended up with about 75. And the people were enthusiastic.
-
When I left, The Nutcracker was still going on. I’ll see that Sunday.
-
Sadly the music won’t be live. The symphony is still on strike.
-
I doubt Santa will bring them a good contract.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
I’m now waiting for dinner. Something called Pollo Fantastico. I certainly hope it is.
-
It was quite good. Grilled chicken cutlet topped with peppers onions and a heap of cheese.
-
By itself, it was low carb, but it came with beans, rice, chips and tortillas.
-
I started eating, and I couldn't stop.
-
I was a member of the clean-plate club tonight.
-
I'm glad the folks in Michigan are charging the parents of the kid who's accused on shooting up his school and killing four classmates. The story of their part in this is just revolting.
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
What is your favorite holiday cookie?
-
Waiting for tomorrow's crossword to appear in two minutes.
-
I would like to finish that before bed.
-
Let the cookie baking begin.

German Springerle. I bake them tomorrow. They have to sit for a day before they go in the oven.
I hope they taste as good as they look.

I haven't read it, still I am not surprised since the father purchased the gun.
-
Ashland is pretty lit up for Christmas. Unfortunately the fog ruined the view of the beautiful mountains.
-
I miss living here. We had dinner with friends tonight at our favorite restaurant.

Couldn’t you just swallow a double shot of bourbon, followed by a slice of Wonder Bread?

Your courthouse doesn’t look real.
-
I ‘be been watching corny Christmas movies.
-
Last night’s movie was called A CHRISTMAS MOVIE CHRISTMAS.
-
Tonight was the more adult, THE MISTLE TONES.
-
They drank in tonight’s movie.

The Broadway Channel on Sirius Radio is doing an all-day tribute to Stephen Sondheim on Sunday beginning at 8:00 am EST.

I went ahead and cancelled my Amazon order, too. I found another CD on sale that I want and it's not on Amazon, so I'll get the Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz's Snapshots (https://www.broadwayrecords.com/film-tv-soundtracks/stephen-schwartzs-snapshots-world-premiere-recording-cd).
-
Tonight, I ushered for the one-man (one-drag queen? one-god?) show, "God is a Scottish Drag Queen: The Christmas Edition."
-
HYSTERICAL!! ;D
-
I can't even describe it...he's just so funny!
-
It's basically a two-hour monologue about the season, but be warned. It's not really that reverential.
-
He uses "language"...and liberally! :))
-
Highly recommended by the likes of me.

Bouncing back, that's the ticket.

Bounce was once a Stephen Sondheim show.
