Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Vitello's 116, and now it is time for you to post until the 116 cows come home.

On Friday night we watched the film version of Into the Woods, which I think is better than the stage show, but the logistics of the plot syill bother me.

Last night we watched Bette Midler's TV version of Gypsy, which I hadn't seen since the original broadcast. I love Midler, but I was amazed by how poorly she sings the score. The cast is really fine, and there are so many wonderful moments. It's also one of the best casting jobs of any Meron-Zadan televised production. Several - The Music Man, Peter Pan maybe the worst - make you think, WTF?

I have never done such a thing so it will be a new experience for us.

I watched YOU'RE A BIG BOY NOW on TCM last night.  FFC was on with Ben.....he didn't have much to say.

I remember liking it when I first saw it.....I thought Peter Kastner was VERY good....  Today I looked him up on IMDB to find out that he passed away in 2008.....and some rather traumatic things that happened to him as a child that really gave him a difficult life.....

On of the shortcuts my work team uses in MS Teams is that when someone has a question that has been resolved, the supervisor posts "XX is resolved," where XX is the initials of whomever posed the question.  But every time I see this, even if it is not for me, I start singing "I Resolve" from She Loves Me to myself.

Elmore, I really like the Bette Gypsy. I didn't realize she sang it poorly. Shows how much I know about music.

She's sometimes under pitch and she often slides into pitch or she slides into the next note. She's better than Tyne Daly on her cast recording, but no one beats Ethel Merman for nailing the notes. I thought Bette's acting was fine. but the role has been sung better.

Now I AM signing off to get ready to attend an AAUW meeting in person.  It's at a local medical facility where everyone is required to wear a mask, so I feel pretty safe.

DR JOHN G mentioned going to the local pageant which is always makes me think of the novel A SHORT HISTORY OF A SMALL PLACE by T.R. Pearson.

It is a few decades old and had probably been read by the bibliophiles here at HHW.  But if you have not, it is highly recommended by the likes of me.

The town Christmas pageant is especially exciting because someone decides to use a real donkey.....and then the monkey of the town scion runs amuck....and.....well.....chaos ensues, as they say.

It is a very funny book with lots of character studies and incidents that will make you laugh - if you like that sort of thing.

DR Laura - is this what you were attempting to make?

I was trying to make a kransekake.

Any ideas for a hostess gift? She has everything, including a full wine cellar.

Flowers.

I won't be here at work long enough to listen to both discs tonight, but we'll see how far I can get.

Weird little day - but plumbing issues are now fixed, the little leak outside by the front sprinklers is now fixed. I ordered in and got mac-and-cheese - very good. Nothing to pick up at the mail place, which seems more than odd as I'm alerted as to when DGA members get screeners and I've now not received several that should have been there on Saturday, which makes me wonder if someone is taking them. I'll say something tomorrow, just so they know that I know that several have not come my way. But, knew I had to drive the motor car, but as I suspected when I locked it last night, battery was dead - charged it and it's running now and I'll go take it for a drive in about ten minutes.

Oh, my.  I've been watching a few news clips (MSNBC and CNN) about the hearing today.  Here's Don Lemon's clip that shows Rep. Liz Cheney reading actual texts that were sent to trump from Fox News hosts(!) on January 6 to try to get him to do something:
