10 hours ofd sleep is way too much. I was so tired last night that I was in bed by 8:30. I slept well until 3:30, and then I slept fitfully until 5:45, when I decided emough was enough.

It's been a rather lousy morning. The leg pains are so horrible I cannot strand comfortably, so I rush to accomplish things to take care of them before the pain takes over. As a result, I pulled the wrong cans of breakfast for the babies, and two cats refused to eat. After I had rested for a moment, O found the tuna and opened two cans for Thatch and Annabelle but only Thatch deigned to eat. Stella ate everything.

I guess that leads to the TOD, and I guess the highlight was DR ChasSmith's visit and lunch with him and Michael Gildin. I do not think I've experienced anything else positive this year. My current prayer is, please, God, either cure me or kill me; just take from from this current hell. And that's enough self-pity for today.

I have some shopping & banking to do.

Later this afternoon we have the appraiser coming for both houses....so we shall see.

The little house is really quite cute.....needs a GOOD cleaning.  But the renters did their best.  They have lived there nine years, so a cleaning & painting was in order anyway.

If anyone wants to check out some photos.....putting it in the Google search bar brings up some on Zillow or Redfern.

The main house is at 56 Hadley Woodland 46158 if anyone wants to check it out.

I saw David Lynch's Dune only once, and I've always intended to return to it, but after reading the book. A few years ago I downloaded the book to Kindle, and someone gave me a nice unabridged audiobook. I decided that what I would do, due to the complex nature of the book, is to enjoy listening to the reading while following along on the page. I've never done that with a book, but I want to with this one to better absorb all the names and other aspects of the narrative. I have yet to put this plan into action, but I do intend to. In the meantime, the new movie has come out and I'm nowhere ready to watch it. Or hell, maybe I should, and just get what I can out of it.

Huge vibes for DR Elmore.

Has there been any progress on being able to restart physical therapy?

Yes, that was a great day and a wonderful visit with the two of you. Incredibly, that's still my only trip into the city since the fall of 2019. I miss the before times!
Title: Re: THE DUNE AND THE SPICE
Post by: ChasSmith on December 16, 2021, 06:15:57 AM
By the bye, I've never intended to read more than just the first book of Dune. I will be happy just mastering, somewhat, that main story. I don't need any more of an epic like that staring me in the face. Hell, I still have to get the rest of the way through Proust, and that's been on hold since...well, I don't even want to admit how long it's been, but I foolishly allowed myself to put it down "for a while" at the halfway point. And that's something I was loving.

The therapist I saw for years no longer accepts my health insurance, so I need to find a new one. Emblem Health sent me a list of therapists in my zipcode, so now that all the pre-radiation nonsense is finished, I will check them out and make an appointment.

The abodes are appraised and we should get the results early next week.

We received our appraisal on the household goods of the big house....about what I expected.

So starting tomorrow we will be allowing the heirs to stop by and choose something they may want....if it's on the appraisal list, they can make an offer.  If it's not on the list, South America Take It Away!

Tomorrow at 10 a.m. my Aunt Martha - only surviving sibling - and her crazy daughter will be stopping by.....  We shall see what we shall see.

Then my cousins Carol & Marcie are coming by.  They are the daughters of the oldest sister of my uncle....  We are having the cousins in by the age of the parent....   My cousin Helen will be next....and then my family....all eight of us.

There is a total of 24 heirs.....21 relatives and 3 "friends".....so hopefully we will get rid of a lot of stuff and maybe put a bit more money in the bank.

Of course by the time the 3 "friends" come in, there may not be much left.....but most of us just want a remembrance or a little something special from our Uncle Wayne.....

Yikes!  "Soneone in a Tree" is a solo, too. ???

At least, he's doing different voices.  But it's all still a solo...no vocal harmony.

Vibes for DR ELMORE.  What a lovely photograph of Annabelle - she should use that one for all autograph requests.

She says she wants it to be on the front of a ship.

The Titanic or the Andrea Doria?

The abodes are appraised and we should get the results early next week.

We received our appraisal on the household goods of the big house....about what I expected.

So starting tomorrow we will be allowing the heirs to stop by and choose something they may want....if it's on the appraisal list, they can make an offer.  If it's not on the list, South America Take It Away!

Vibes it goes well.

Hugs.

Well, considering the last time I was in “rehab,” I was going thru alcohol withdrawal.

As I've mentioned, the so-called "producer" of Sondheim Unplugged has little talent to begin with and no album producing experience at all. You couldn't pay me to listen to this thing. A total cash grab for this guy.

Yes, it would be better than that, however,  I meant the PT rehab place after your back surgery .

Ah yes, but they preferred to call that a nursing home.

She only watches movies that star actresses that she likes.  I don't think it's really about any of the stories, so I'd suggest just read the synopses and watch whatever strikes your fancy.

Well, the concert was wonderful. Doc Watkins had a nice horn section that really tore up some old favorites like Silver Bells, White Christmas and, my favorite, the Christmas Waltz. They did Stan Kenton's arrangement of God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen. And Duke Ellington's version of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies was great.

There was one song that was new to me, Christmas in Cowtown, that I really liked. Will have to look for it online.
