Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in review, and now it is time for you to post until the reviewed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VOLANT!
-
Well, today is not only the birthdays of former DRs PennyO and Dan (the Man), it's also the birthday of my friend Margo!
-
I wished her a happy birthday on Facebook, and I sent her a text. Hopefully, I'll actually be able to chat with her on the phone, or even in person. :)
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am very sleepy, but I think it's the Tizanidine kicking in.
-
Lasr night, for a first in year, I slept five hours straight before I needed a bathroom break. I was complete flabbergasted when I woke at 2:30 with Stella stretched out beside me and Thatch sleeping next to me just below her/ Then I slept poorly for the next 3.5 hours.
-
DR TCB, DR singdaw was correct: your friend Micheal is a true saint.
-
BK, that is one fantastic photo of you and Richard Sherman.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
One week from today, it will be Christmas Day!
-
The year has flown, as they say.
-
After kitty cleanup this morning, I must make an important phone call to Norfolk, VA, about this project.

DR elmore3003 - I am sorry about MTI. I am very excited about the prospects of the recording project.
-
I love all of the "Moonshine and Mistletoe" entries.
-
Good morning.
-
I think that's all I have to say.
-
My DH would consider that a blessing.
-
bk, so glad that you got to dine with Richard Sherman.
-
Looking forward to your thoughts on West Side Story.
-
Congratulations on your new iPhone!
-
DR elmore3003 - I am sorry about MTI. I am very excited about the prospects of the recording project.
Thanks. It would have been a tedious and uninteresting job, but the money is desperately needed. The recording project could be wonderful, but I'm still apprehensive that the funders will make a provision that I and my colleagues do not want to accept. The person who broached the project is well-intentioned but too much of a wild card, and I fear he could too easily screw things up.
-
The musician's union has a program "No Musician Left Behind," and I have applied for financial aid. I am literally down to nothing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
O need another hour of sleep.
-
But there is work to be done.
-
What lovely notes and what lovely photographic evidence of the meeting of the minds.
-
Lots of things happening to the folks here at HHW - and most of it makes me very happy!
Vibes that the good things continue for everyone and that the OTHER things go AWAY!
-
Two!
-
I am burning a green candle for DR ELMORE so that some $$ come his way...and in fact the cycle of the moon today could start some good things for us all!
-
So I thought DR JOHN G was ushering for the ballet last night - and then I read that a fight broke out......I suppose there may have been disagreement about tempi.....
-
Not much to do today - and I like it.
I am going to order pizza for lunch and it will be enough for TWO days unless I have company.
-
It was over tutu colors.
-
I'm a bit worried about the theeder next summer with the numbers going back up.....etc.....but I guess we shall just see.....as time goes by.
-
We have a meeting at the bank on Monday to sign some papers about getting a cash buyout for an annuity.
My nephew is interested in the little house.....we want to sell it as it sets.....our offer and counteroffer are only a few thousand dollars apart.....we shall see......
-
I am all for other things going away.
Advancing years, for instance. The looks on my doctors faces when they tell me I am experiencing what others "my age" are experiencing.
I want to be YOUNG, dagnabit.
-
Gosh! Did I say that in print?
-
How can we possibly be one week away from Christmas???
-
Good morning!
-
So good to see TCB posting!
-
Great photo of BK and Mr. Sherman!
-
I want to be YOUNG, dagnabit.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I will be scarce, as there is much to be done today.
Will try to get back later before I have to get ready for our
CLOSING NIGHT. (finally!) :)
-
Excellent notes and photographic evidence today!
Vibes for all!
Till later...
-
I am burning a green candle for DR ELMORE so that some $$ come his way...and in fact the cycle of the moon today could start some good things for us all!
Thank you! It's greatly appreciated.
-
BIG VIBES for that green candle to do its job!
-
Like I needed one more thing to do today:
I just ran out to the auto parts store to buy a pair of bulbs for my headlights. One was out when I got home last night, and I so SO hate to have been "that guy". Letting the engine cool down before what I hope will be a successful replacement of both of them.
($45.00!!) (Remember when you bought the old style big bulbs for like five bucks apiece??)
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! It’s gray and drizzly here today and I’m trying to get some holiday baking and wrapping done.
-
DR TCB, wow on thar TNT truck blowing up.
-
I looked up the story from 1959. You were there a long time ago ;D
-
I attempted to copy and paste the story here. I need my computer to do that.
-
Well, today is not only the birthdays of former DRs PennyO and Dan (the Man), it's also the birthday of my friend Margo!
And my best girlfriend, Susan, since 9th grade. When I met Penny in 10th grade it was easy to remember her birthday.
-
I wished her a happy birthday on Facebook, and I sent her a text. Hopefully, I'll actually be able to chat with her on the phone, or even in person. :)
Happy birthday to Margo. I haven't reached my friend Susan yet. I did send her an email.

How can we possibly be one week away from Christmas???
:o
-
Thank goodness Freyja's packages finally arrived.
-
She was very unhappy not to be able to open the last box. They put her gingerbread house on top of it and that pleased her :)
-
So good to see TCB posting!
Yes it is.
-
Three!
-
Thunderstorms are hovering over the city. And I went out shopping in them.
-
Closing show vibes for ChasSmith and company!
-
I found the See's Candy store with little problem. The greater problem was choosing what to buy.
-
I also made it to Trader Joe's to stock up on radishes before Noche de los Rabanos arrives.
-
Headlamps are whole again, thankfully (and thankfully, that's not too difficult on this car).
And though it seems like I just got up and it should be - oh, maybe only about ten in the morning? - it's 2 pm and I have but three hours before getting ready to go. I believe someone stole half a day from me.
-
Thanks for the closing night vibes and for the heads up re the Noche.
I don't know what's done on that day, but we do love our radishes here.
-

I could have helped you decide ;)

Additional Closing Night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & Co.
-

I could have helped you decide ;)
I got a box of truffles. And some double cocoa hot chocolate. And a Santa stocking stuffer.
-
On the radio while I was out, the NPR had a great program of music from soundtracks related to Christmas. I heard two selections from The Preacher's Wife, one from The Bishop's Wife and, best of all, some Victor Herbert from Babes in Toyland.
-
OK. The stocking stuffer and hot chocolate sound good. I am not a fan of truffles. I love their chocolate buttercreams.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I'm baking cookies to give the children at church tomorrow.
-
Closing show vibes for ChasSmith and company!
Ditto!
-
I had a very good phone conversation with the project's chief funder, and all seems good. This is a relief.
-
I'm baking cookies to give the children at church tomorrow.
Yum.
-
We are only 30 mi from home, plus the time it takes to stock up on essentials at the market.
-
I'm being incredibly lazy. Mostly stars, candy canes, and snowflakes. They are the quickest to do.
-
I'm glad to hear that Elmore. You must provide those kitties the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep. Must go pick up packages, although am fearful of the lines.
-
I'm out of powdered sugar. How can I be out of powdered sugar?
Oh yeah. Baking.
-

That sounds like me. I know I bought four pounds of butter. Where did it go?

Sounds yummy! :D
-
My sister just texted me, asking if I would go shopping with her so that she could get ingredients for Nuts & Bolts (aka the original homemade Chex Mix), and fudge...but she's not making Nuts & Bolts Fudge. That would just be too weird.
-
Thunderstorms are hovering over the city. And I went out shopping in them.
No thunderstorms, but it's raining here in Tumwater.
-
Headlamps are whole again, thankfully (and thankfully, that's not too difficult on this car).

Great news, Larry!!

Welcome home, Jane!

Gratuitous Post #100!!

Here's a feel-good story that a friend just sent to me:
Arizona grandmother tried to return Nintendo Switches mistakenly delivered to her. Now Target is gifting them back as thanks. Arizona grandmas have been in the news lately.

This Arizona grandma had to stop because her back is aching.

That is a sweet story.

One year, I'll make it to the Sydney Opera House. Until then, there is this spritely version of Handel's Messiah filmed there.

I wouldn't call that lazy ;D

And the word of the day is: VOLANT!
Didn’t Robert Wagner play Prince VOLANT back in the 50’s? That wig made him look so nelly. Come to think of it, maybe……..

Thank you. She was busy celebrating earlier, we did however just have a very nice chat.

There's a countertenor instead of an alto.
Twenty years ago, or so, Rob and I took Richard’s mother to a Messiah performance where they did that and she DID NOT APPROVE. When it was over, she wouldn’t even clap. I was so embarrassed by her behavior I drove her home in silence.
The next day she was ranting to her musician eldest son. He told her there was probably some historic validity to that choice, but she still wasn’t convinced.
Have I mentioned my mother-in-law was a force of nature?

We even managed to squeeze in a quick walk before it rained.

We should have gone to San Antonio again ;)

Ha! They had a countertenor one year with the San Antonio Symphony. A small boy kept saying to his mother in a loud whisper, "Mommy, that man sounds like a girl."

Who you calling a ho?

Starting to watch a documentary called Bergman: A Year in a Life. It's about 1957, the year in which he made both The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries. For some reason, one of the talking heads is Barbra Streisand. Elliott Gould is also interviewed. He makes sense. He at least made The Touch with Bergman.

Ours was canceled here because the symphony is still on strike.

A jealous man dating a secret spy is not a perfect match.
Great line from Bergman.

I think we have another sainthood candidate.

Sure, rub it in!
-
George, no plans on a Saturday night?
-
I thought (and hoped) that vixmom would come back and chat.
-
Welcome home, Jane! Somehow I thought you returned during my absence.
-
Well, I guess I will say good night.
-
George, no plans on a Saturday night?
Not anymore.
-
I went shopping with my sister this afternoon and her boyfriend brought us dinner.
-
He got me an egg salad sandwich from the local Meconi's.
-
It was pretty darned good...as usual. :)
-
Tomorrow, however, I'm working concessions for one of the local ballets.
-
It's Ballet Northwest's annual production of The Nutcracker (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/21-22-ballet-northwest-nutcracker-6/).

Today, I didn't get out of bed until about 1:00 PM. :D
-
Tomorrow, I have to be at the theater at 12:15 at the latest.
-
Fortunately, my black jeans are clean (enough ;) ) and I can wear any shirt.
-
Concessionaires aren't required to wear white shirts like the ushers.
-
I can't remember if my white shirt is clean or not, but I don't actually usher until Tuesday, which is for the singalong Messiah.
-
I'll have time either tomorrow after the ballet or even Monday to wash my shirt, if I need to.
-
My sister's boyfriend saw this kind of bumper sticker on a car today:

:))
-
Amazon actually sells it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CKJRBKW/), so I think I need to get one!

Amazon had several other similar bumper stickers, like this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GFG1H2H/):

Is Ballet Northwest a ballet school, or a professional company?
-
Is Ballet Northwest a ballet school, or a professional company?
A ballet school.
-
They
usually sometimes even bring in former students who've gone on to have professional careers.
-
Yes, but a production using students in all of the leading roles can be cute, but a very long afternoon of theater.
-
New notes are up - and they are a novelette.

And that's why I work concessions...and bring my Kindle to read out in the lobby during the show. ::)
