George-I went to every taping of Whose Line Is It Anyway, and have seen those guys live at least 6 times. There are entire sites devoted to what actually went on at the tapings which you would not believe! The entire season would be taped over 3 long weekends, each taping at least 6 hours, 3 of which would be cut. I had the chance to do "sound effects" with Ryan and Colin.
Kritzerland: No the Kritzer books will not be part of the label site. I'm beginning to think I'll drop the possessary and just hope people know what the deal is.
Trivia: As stated, the two shows in question are plays, not musicals. They are not revivals.
Good Morning!DR Jose, I'm a little confused by this. In playing her birthday, do you mean that she was born in 603 AD? Or in June of '03?
And the hits just keep on coming!!!
I heard a commotion in the hallway a few minutes ago. A good commotion.
My Mom played her birthday in the lottery tonight - 603. Well, guess what came up?
Actually, 306 came up, but she played the combinations, so...
She played it both "straight" and in "any order", so she won twice. And about $600 too!
DR elmore - Have great trip to LC in DC. Will you get to see Jose play for Mamma Mia?
OK.
Do you think that you'll be getting a lot of "blind hits" to the site? I sense that anyone going to the site will be looking for recordings, and would more than likely have a passing acquaintance with you and Guy Haines.
Maybe you'll be Google-Whacked!
In my younger days, I used to be google-whacked; but, alas, no more.
I will work on the Trivia Contest when I get home from the theater. Cleaning and selling tickets for OLIVER! today.
Thank you, Matt H, I am glad to know that your show is going well, despite all the cast problems. Friday night crowds are always a little strange. Too much rushing to get from work I imagine.
I will work on the Trivia Contest when I get home from the theater. Cleaning and selling tickets for OLIVER! today. And how did the tickets get dirty in the first place?
I'd say we have like minds. but that's scary! :o
Jack, are you always required to clean the tickets before you sell them???
And how did the tickets get dirty in the first place?
;D
As most of you know, I know very little about plays, so I will skip the TOD. But it is nice to be able to learn something new, which, for me, happens rather frequently...no cracks DR Elmore!
Jane, I'd call your cell if I had the number. I can, most likely, tag along on Tuesday morning.
So, a question for all the other DRs: What other CDs do you think would be appropriate, and enjoyable, for a couple of lads aged five and eight? I've already picked out You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown as our next disc to introduce them to.
While having breakfast with my mom this morning I learned that when my brother was in Iraq this last time his 3 car convoy came under attack by insurgents, and they actually had a shoot out...my brother and the other guy in his car did not have guns, so they had to hide under the car while others shot it out and waited for back-up.
Rather scary news that my brother did not tell us about while he was over there.
I think that scared him enough that he will not offer to go back there again (he works for the Federal govt.).
I'm sorry BK, but I don't seem to have anything to say. I don't know much from foreign playwrights and I don't know how to play CANASTA.
Dear DRs all, I have an announcement to make!
I am returning to the world of the working shlub!!!
[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%] :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o[/move]
The grocery store just down the street from where der B and I live was holding a job fair, so I went in, filled out an application, got interviewed, and then went in again today to finalize the paperwork. I'll be working as a cashier, so I get to play with money and lasers and bar codes and plastic or paper! I even get to pay dues to a union!
(Well, that gets a :-\ but it's part of the job.)
It may be just for the summer, when the store does the biggest business (tourists, of course). But even so, the pay will be pretty good, and I could get picked up for post-season.
Congrats on the employment! :D I don't know if I could do that kind of job or not. Handling anyones money except my own makes me very highly nervous. I don't know why but if anyone accused me of not giving them the right change or anything like that I would melt.Fortunately, a lot of the job, like adding everything up, is handled by computers. This store has screens that show everything that is being scanned AS it is being scanned, with a running total and any discounts shown in real time.
I would also probably be the worlds easiest mark for every scam in the world.
DR Elmore, I miss Jane too. :(
I'd post more but I playing in toyland today. That was not a cheap porn reference either.
I'm a big fan of Coward. I also like The Bard and Stoppard. Anhouli and Wilde (France and Ireland)
Of course people always like to complain about where they are sitting even if they are lucky to have tickets to a sold out show. Shortly before the curtain went up, a lady came to the box office and said: "We can't see a thing from these seats." And I said: "Uh, nothing has happened yet."
CANASTA...why does this word bring Kay Medford to mind?
It does??? ??? ;)

My friend Zach who has worked a few seasons at Putnam County Playhouse (the above referenced jernt) - was also studying acting at Indiana University. Last December, Mr Scott LeFaber came to guest direct a production of HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WANDA JUNE and Zach was in it as the Vacuum Cleaner Salesman.
Mr LeFaber told Zach to get himself to NYC and audition for the Circle in the Square Summer Program. Zach did so, and last week was offered a contract - he will be in NYC this summer! I am sure it is because he had Putnam County Playhouse on his resume, and Circle In The Square is where a show is playing called ---you know: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I don't know what kind of public presentations the students do there, but if you go see one, NYC HHW'ers, look for Mr Zachary Spicer.
The library where I work just received the new CD of Captain Louie (http://www.psclassics.com/cd_louie.html), based on Ezra Jack Keats children's book THE TRIP, with songs by Stephen Schwartz. I haven't gotten it yet, but the one review on amazon.com gives it five stars.
Also, what about:
Bugys Malone
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's Superman!
Snoopy (especially after Charlie Brown)
Finally got around to watching the season finale to LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT. John Dossett was the top billed guest star and he was marvelous. And, oh, to see those lustrous blue eyes of his in high definition is a sight to see, "a sight for sore eyes," so to speak :)
Michelle Pawk is one lucky lady.
I was thinking Cats might be a good CD for the grandlads to experience. We have the show on DVD, which will help them understand the show. What bothers me is that our CD doesn't have the lyrics included, or much in the way of illustrations. The lads like having something to look at while they listen, particularly Alex, who has decided he does like to read after all.
We may need to get a book, with pics and lyrics.
