Well, you've read the notes, the notes piled on, and now it is time for you to post until the piled on cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FASTIDIOUS!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
George, this is what it looked like.

George, this is what it looked like.
Nice.

So, I had signed up and was assigned to be an usher today for the Olympia Symphony Music Director Finalist Concert #1: Alexandra Arrieche (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/olympia-symphony-music-director-finalist-concert-1-alexandra-arrieche/). But it turns out that no one had signed up to be barback (bartender support), so last night I told the house manager that I would be willing to switch to barback (I have experience doing it), and she was VERY happy. She said that she'd switch me over.
-
Well, I just looked at the Washington Center's volunteer website and not only was I NOT signed up to be barback today, I was actually taken off the usher list! :o I went ahead and signed up for barback (although I won't show up unless or until someone actually assigns me), and I'll go to the theater expecting to be the barback. But if I get there and it turns out that they don't need me (which won't be the case), I won't mind leaving...but that won't happen.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
It's a neighborly day in the neighborhood.
-
Or so says Mr. Rodgers.
-
Won't you be my neighbor?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a truly rotten night of sleep, asnd the apartment was freezing, which only added to my misery.
-
In 1961, before the film West Side Story was released, I couldn't wait to see it, and I believe my friends and I saw it first night in Cincinnati, which was a 30-mile drive from Middletown. I was - I believe - fourteen, and I was the youngest of a group consisting of three or four Middletown children's librarians and myself. I was so excited, it was all I thought about for weeks once we started planning the trip.
I remain completely apathetic about the new film. I haven't seen it, and I have no real desire to.
-
I have a couple of bills to pay today, the laundry from yesterday to put away, and maybe a bit of vacuuming. Then I'm lying down and doing nothing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I thought Mr. Elgort was fine in the movie. Problem is, he’s been accused of sexual assault, which, to some, means his acting can no longer be taken for what it is.
-
Thank you, BK, for pointing out the underwhelming cinematography. That and the blue palette are what I liked least about this West Side Story.
-
Good morning, all.
-
SN*W.
-
Damn it.
Damn it to HELL and back.
-
It had looked like the coming of spring these last few days, and now it looks like ... well, mid-February.
It's only going to be two to three inches. BUT - they had forecast only one to two. And that makes a big difference in the cleanup. Which will have to be done without fail this afternoon because it's falling back into the teens tonight.
Thank goodness there's another thaw coming, mid-week.
-
DR JohnG, how did so many of us miss the fact you were traveling? Enjoy your break.
-
It's Sunday.
And you know what everybody says about Sunday
Put on your Sunday clothes
There's lots of world out there
Get out the brillantine and dime cigars
We're gonna find adventure in the evening air
Girls in white in a perfumed night
Where the lights are bright as the stars!
Put on your Sunday clothes, we're gonna ride through town
In one of those new horsedrawn open cars

Maybe here, in Johnston SC, there's not as much excitement (not by a long shot), but there is lunch at Riley's on Main (on Calhoun Street).
That begins at 11 a.m. A mere one hour and 23 minutes away! Happily, it's a five-minute drive from my house.
-
I got a pleasant nine hours of sleep last night.
Feeling just fine, if not spiffy.
-
In anticipation of tomorrow:
-
My biggest issue right now is whether to shave or not.
If I am going out in public,I think needs must.
-
And that, as they say, is that.
-

i hope everyone is enjoying Super Bow Sunday.

i hope everyone is enjoying Super Bow Sunday.
:)
-
I am all spiffed up and ready for my public appearance.
Shaved, shampooed, dressed.
Golly gosh gee whiz.
And it's only because I'm going out for lunch.

At Tony Pastor’s
And this I’m positive of
That we won’t come home
Until we fall in love.
A fave.

Hello, one and all! There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on the website. My chat with writer/director Daniel Goldstein about the musical Unknown Soldier (one of my Top Ten Cast Recordings of 2021). Interesting conversation and some wonderful music. Check it out!

The lady on Fox News Sunday has declared that the Superb Owl will be played between the Rams and Bangles.
I was not aware the band had gotten back together - but I may tune in for a few innings.
-
I hope JB is enjoying his sojourn at the Toot Suite and DR JOHN G is enjoying the Florida sunshine.
-
I agree with what MR BK has written about the new version of WSS.
And I also concur with DR JOHN G about why Ansel has received pans in the film.....
-
DR TCB you are correct - I had forgotten that I have to win a Tony first......
-
Updates to the computer took ALL morning.....
-
Corned beef hash and eggs. Delicious.
And I look forward to pigging out on Cincinnati Chili this evening.
A good day for comfort foods.

Whew! I just checked and I've been officially assigned to work barback. My call time is 1:15, so I've got about 2 1/2 hours to get ready. :)
-
But first, I need to ketchup on today's posts...so far.
-
SN*W.
SN*W, SN*W, GO AWAY!
COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY!
;D

Thanks, Jrand, and agreed!!

I put the laundry away and then spent several hours making pasta sauce. I'll have spaghetti for dinner.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five hours? Maybe? I was in bed at 12:45 but had real tummy issues throughout the night, so I'd just get up, do stuff on the computer, and go back to bed. Very annoying. I think maybe I have to cut out all desserts for a while.
-
So we got between two and three inches of - you know. The plow guy plowed, and I went out later to start up the snow blower to clean the areas he doesn't do. But fortunately I tried the leaf blower first, just in case, because the stuff was light and I was able to use that on those remaining portions, which leaves it all absolutely clean. And I think the ground had warmed up over the past few days because the little bit remaining on the asphalt is melting off as we speak. And just in time, because whatever was left would have been ice tonight.
-
I love spaghetti, too.
-
Just in case you were wondering.
-
But who doesn't love spaghetti, really?
-
No one I know.
-
I meant to get the ingredients to whip up a batch of chili, but forgot.
-
Spaghetti happening here, too, in about an hour and a half. Mine will be underneath some Skyline Chili and beans and onions and shredded cheese.
-
Sat by the pool. It was a little chilly for me to go swimming, though the feel of the sun was nice. But in the past two days, I’ve read more than 200 pages of my Zola novel, The Masterpiece. The end is in sight.
-
Sigh.

A woman in the pool was talking about Cincinnati chili. Made me hungry.
-
That sounds SO good, DR ChasSmith.
-
Lookey, page THREE!!!
-
Did they mention if JFK Jr. would be headlining the Spangles reunion?
-
Three!
-
I’m slow today.
-
I just drained a bottle of gin. There was enough for one modest-sized martini. And that's what it is now.
-
DR John G. - you're on vacation. Slowness is
expected your right.

What time does this stupid Stupid Bowl start? The damn freeway was jammed in both directions because apparently everyone in the Valley needs to go to a Stupid Bowl party. Audition was fine, stopped at Popeye's for food - no one there, and but tons of take-out orders. About twenty people arrived right after I placed my order, all pick-ups. I suspect it's like that at every take-out jernt.
-
I did not go to lunch with Butch and Sharon. They let me know they were going out of town to another restaurant with friends.
Drat!
So, what did I do?
I was dressed and ready, so I went to church.
-
Hell did not freeze over, either.
-
Had a lovely Zoom chat this afternoon with friends, then I watched an old British film on archive.org -- "Father Brown", 1954, starring Ale Guinness and Peter Finch. The U.S. title was "The Detective", for some reason.
-
I am not watching the World Series....but I think it starts it starts about 6:30 p.m. EST.
The internet also tells me that Super Bowl Sunday is the second largest EATING day for the US - right after Thanksgiving. Which explains MR BK's experience at Popeye's.
We are less than one hour away from the puck drop.
-
I am watching Curling.....USA vs CHINA on USA network.....I don't see a LIVE icon, so I think if I looked around I could find out how it all comes out.
-
At some point, Mr. BK should be able to travel from one side of LA to the other without a whiff of traffic or inconvenience. Timing is everything during such events.
-
Went to the grocery and am now back to lump status.

The market was very busy today.
-
We parked at Fred Meyer, walked over to and around Fort Vancouver, then returned to shop.
-
I found the Häagen-Dazs coffee chocolate chip I couldn't find the other day. I suspect it was there all along hidden behind something else.
-

So true, if only he had planned ahead ;)
-
I have never watched a Super Bowl game, even when we hosted a family party in LA so Craig would not miss the game. Well, he wasn't going to miss the game. This way he had people to watch it with, and on a big screen.
-
I guess there is nobody here because everyone is busy NOT WATCHING the Super Bowl?
-
;D
-
I ain’t watching.
-
DR John G., I hope you are enjoying a drink with a little colorful umbrella in it.
-
'night
-
But who doesn't love spaghetti, really?
We had spaghetti three times at our house last week.
-
;D
-
:)
-
FOUR!
-
Good night, friends.
-
DR John G., I hope you are enjoying a drink with a little colorful umbrella in it.
Not yet. But give it time.
-
:)
Ha!
-
What, the morons think it's okay to start with the damn fireworks?
-
Someone just north of here - I mean like two or three houses north, were popping off firecracker after firecracker - I went outside and at the top of my lungs said, "Knock it the "f" off right now, moron or I'm coming over there." I'm happy to say - they knocked it the "f" off. But distant ones are still going off.
-
Ivan Reitman of Ghostbusters fame has died.
-
I finished my Zola novel. Six more to go in this series.
-
Three of the supposed best, La Bete Humaine, Nana and Germinal, are coming up.
-
I’m fading.
-
Enjoy your evening. With no fireworks.
-
Watched an interesting short documentary about the outrage culture of now.
-
Having many telephonic conversations, all having to do with wrapping up our casting.
-
Now listening to music.
-
I spent much of my evening watching "E.T.", including the scene with the TV commercial that offered a shot of BK.
-
It's late. I'm tired.
Leaving it all behind for now.
Nighty-night.
-
I have not seen the much maligned WEST SIDE STORY, but I imagine I will watch it. It starts showing on Disney in March.
-
I don’t know if I will like the film or not, but I am certainly not going to make up my mind about it until I do.
-
I happen to like the score of WSS.
-
I first saw the movie with my mom and sister back in 1960, or ‘61. It was on the big screeen at our Temple Theatre.
-
Since that time I may have seen the film twice.
-
I saw it one time on TV and one time on VCR.
-
I guess there is nobody here because everyone is busy NOT WATCHING the Super Bowl?
Pretty much. ;)
-
Ivan Reitman of Ghostbusters fame has died.
:(
-
I don’t care for Richard Beymer, but I love Natalie Wood, Rita Moreno, and even George Chakiris.
-
However, over the years I have listened to various LP’s and CD’s, because I love the score.
-
Ia really like the Cheyenne Jackson and the the San Francisco Symphony recording. And no, Cheyenne does not play Maria.
-
Can this really be?
-
Page four?
-
REALLY?
-
We're gonna go out on page four?
-
However, over the years I have listened to various LP’s and CD’s, because I love the score.
Me, too. I just realized that I don't have any foreign language recordings of WSS, but I do have Schlong's Punk Side Story (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Punk-Side-Story-The-Original-Drunk-Punk-Play-1995-Schlong/9686/).
;D
-
If I happened to be in New York when there was a revival of the show, I would probably think about getting a ticket. And I certainly wouldn’t avoid the show because Carol Lawrence was not in it.
-
That would be an all-time first and VERY VERY VERY unseemly.
-
I love Carol Lawrence.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Five!! :D
-
Actually, if Carol Lawrence was playing Maria, I would probably avoid the production.
-
I don't love a dearth of postings.
-
I thought Mr. Elgort was fine in the movie. Problem is, he’s been accused of sexual assault, which, to some, means his acting can no longer be taken for what it is.
When Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual crimes, they completely cut him out of his movie and refillmed it with Christopher Plummer.
