Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a screw loose, and now it is time for you to post until the screw loose cows come home.

And returning to West Side Story...sort of.  The audio streaming (https://www.amazon.com/music/player/albums/B0755GZLCH) of Schlong's Punk Side Story is included with Amazon Prime...if anyone's interested.  If you have an open mind and a sense of humor, it's really actually pretty fun. ;)

My pasta sauce was not as good as it should have been. It was tasty, bnut it needed more tomato paste. The last batch was so good, this was a disappointment.

Thirteen years ago today, NYC police broke down the door of John McGlinn's apartment at 200 East 72nd Street to remove his body. I owe much of whatever career I've had to John - and to BK - and there isn't a day that passes that I don't think of McGlinn, whose story remains a lesson in the foolishness of believing your own press.

Some days I miss the friendship and the collaboration. On other days I want to dig up his body and kick his ass.

I did a phone interview with John McGlinn when he was coming to Albany with Very Good for May. We had a nice talk about all things theater. I doubt I still have the notes or that I’d be able to read them, but I do remember he was of the opinion that the score to Company would not age. He even predicted that it wouldn’t be performed in 20 years. That was more than 30 years ago.

Lionel Monckton's wonderful musical with Howard Talbot, The Arcadians, had a popular Act Three duet "Charming Weather," which Jerome Kern referenced in a number from Have A Heart and a show title:
It's nice and warm, I think that we shall have a lovely day,
Very very warm for May, eighty in the shade, they say,
Just fancy!

I wish I had the energy to be outraged about something everyday.

And time to spend on the inner web getting other people to be outraged with me.

You see it is not enough that I am outraged about something - in order to validate my outrage, I have to get as many others outraged as possible and lauding me for being the first to be outraged.

I have made it a goal to get at least one person canceled each week.  That's only 52 people a year.  It's a small price to pay for the permanence of inner web fame.

DR JANE I forgot to tell you I found a nice kitty food....Ashland Variety Pack - tuna, chicken, and liver flavors.  A nice dry cat food.

30 ounces for $2.   That amount usually lasts me over two weeks....about 1/2 cup a day.....and it is visually interesting, different colors and shapes.  So the kitty seems to like it - at least he eats it all every day.

Or something does.

It's too bad I don't live next door to MR BK, I have two nice bar stools without loose screws and he could have his choice.

I used to have three, but I took one over to the big house so I would have a place to sit while folks looked at all the rooms....which was a bit misguided on my part....it seems.

All right then, spent the last hour or so cleaning up the garage - I could stand it no more - boxes upon boxes piled up in the middle, couldn't even get to stuff. Did not know this. From an obituary of Ivan Reitman:

That year, Reitman also produced the stage show “Spellbound,” a one-act musical with a book by David Cronenberg and music by Howard Shore that starred illusionist Doug Henning. A year later, a reworked version of the show—in which the original book and score were replaced while retaining Henning and his illusions—debuted on Broadway as “The Magic Show” and would run for four years and be nominated for several Tonys.

Drove to Aiken this morning to deliver blood lab reports to a doctor (VA referral) who had requested I get them done.

I then stopped at Sam's Club and bought a few pretties (glass cleaner, toilet scrubbing bubbles included).

All three bathrooms have been cleaned and the trash bin has been transported to the curb for tomorrow morning's pickup.

I have my first ENT appointment Thursday morning, but as I have previously reported, my major sinus issues have virtually disappeared.  I hope the doctor will be able to determine what had plagued me and help learn to avoid it in the future.

Ron, I didn't realize you'd been that sick or for that long. I thought you were referring to  chronic sinisitis.  I had The Thang in early January, with copious nose-blowing. Friends in the Bay Area, who are never sick, had something similar, and I've heard other reports, too, of non-Covid bugs. Perhaps that's what you had. In any case, glad to hear it appears to be GONE! Vibes it stays away.

News of the Day:

1. I met my friend and we enjoyed chilaquiles outside. We chatted all day. I was able to enjoy the day without worrying about covid exposure.

2. Leonard got out of the house when I was in the shower. I had fed the outside cats, and he was able to get the door open. His adventure was short-lived, though.

3. We had raccoons on the patio at 5 a.m. I expect they slept somewhere nearby and will reappear any time now that it is dark.

I remember angry letters to the editor when the Ashland SHAKESPEARE Festival would to TAMING OF THE SHREW  ::)

I could understand the complaints if they modernized the setting as they did with many of his other plays.

I knew my DH was THE ONE when we met and my heart skipped a beat.

I found out later I had a mitral valve prolapse.

Oh my.

I had two In-N-Out cheeseburgers earlier - pretty good, not as good as usual. So, I just ordered some chicken teriyaki, which is very low in calories and will be a nice snack.

Starting Bernardine Evaristo’s Manifesto. I really like her writing. This is the third of her books that I’ve read.

I also started Maus today. I really don’t like reading graphic novels. So, I am taking it one chapter at a time. But this one is very good so far.

Thanks, Jeanne.  i feel very blessed to be breathing through my nose once again.

The first Shakespeare play that I performed in was Taming of the Shrew. :)

What a coinkydink!  Today for lunch, I went to Subway and got their Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki wrap.  It was quite delish. :)
