Well, you've read the notes, the notes were kitsch, and now it is time for you to post until the kitschy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CANDOR!
-
And if tomorrow's word is EBB we'll have CANDOR and EBB.
-
Welcome fifty GUESTS.
-
And the word of the day is: CANDOR!
Yes, I thought CANDOR was the composer of EBB TIDE.
-
Good morning.
-
Very nice indeed to see Jed pop in last night.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Hello, DR Jed!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all!
DR JohnG, did your We Transfer link expire? Do I need to send it again?
-
I was feeling quite puny last night so I was in bed by 7:00. Around 6:30 this morning I finally got out of bed, fed the cats,m and went back until 8:00. I was thinking, is it Covid?
This morning, though, I'm moving cautiously, but I feel okay.
-
I'm taking it easy today, aftewr I clean up the enormous mess the cats made of this apartment last night.
-
Good morning to everyone
-
National Love your pet day? Annabelle asked. Is that today?
Yes, I told her, but I love mine every day!
As you should, she responded before she returned to her Backstage casting notices.
-
Good morning, all.

Must have been one hell of a party there.
-
Only a few more weeks of cedar pollen. Supposedly.
-
I will be glad when it's past us.
-
I got the London recording of Company yesterday. It's not great.

The raccoons partied on my patio last night. Boy, do they make a mess.

Hello to one and all! There's a new Broadway Radio Show up for your listening pleasure. I chat with singer & author Allyson Hernandez about her novel Ballad of Dreams, which began life as a musical & is now a novel filled with music. It's a wonderful story of 2 women & their through the 20th Century. I found it captivating and Allyson was a delight to chat with! ENJOY

The mixer was whirling at 6 a.m. and the oven was .... heating.
-
We're having an outdoor coffee hour today. I'm staying out of the church building. My five-year-old sous chef had omicron last month, so I am comfortable being in the kitchen with him.
-
DR LAURA yes it is nice to be missed.
-
Birdy Barnum is glad that JB is home from his vacation and hopes he had a good time.....oh....and DR JOHN G as well.
-
I watched the first episode of MEDDLING about the cheating judges at the 2002 Salt Lake City pairs skating event.
Of course the rest are not available for free on PEACOCK.....but I am not going to pay for something else.
-
As the ugly midget of a pairs coach - who is still coaching - said in an interview at the beginning of the episode, as she sat smugly in an ugly chair:
"There are rumors of course......but there is no prrrrrrrrrrrroof!!!"
-
Today my brother Kent came by to pick up a keyboard for his wife's computer.
I asked him if he would help me jump start Smarty and he said yes. Of course I had already looked up where the battery is located. Under the floor board in front of the passenger seat.
It just took a few minutes - so now I have BOTH of my cars.
My sister Paula and I are going out to Maple Leaf Cemetery today to make sure Uncle Wayne's name and dates have been place on his crypt......I got an email about 10 days ago saying the monument company had delivered it so hopefully the cemetery has had the time to put it up.
-
I think I will drive Smarty.
-
I am sorry I missed Jed's visit.
-
From George:
That had a lemony taste that wasn't too bad.
"wasn't too bad". LOL, I think I will pass on this one.
-
George, you are welcome. Before sending it on I enjoyed seeing it on my desk :)

I was hungry after the gym and couldn't resist the Girl Scout cookies at the market entrance. Aside from having shrunk to about half the size, the Samoas didn't taste very good. Keith agreed. After eating two I felt sick, probably just me as Keith is fine.
From George:
Darn...that's too bad. :-\
I tried another one in the evening after slightly softening it in the microwave. While it didn't taste must better, I didn't get sick again.

It is Sunday afternoon.
I went to church, ate some lunch and had a 3 1/2 hour Zoom chat.
I need a nap.
-
Guess who is 70 years old, although perpetually claims to be 13?
-
I think it is interesting that he has more than a resemblance to Howdy Doody.
-
It's another gloriously beautiful sunny day in Johnston SC, although it's a bit cooler than the past couple of days. We hit 79 on Friday, 67 yesterday, and it's only 56 today.
-
The cats and I have lounged about watching the PBS cooking shows. I'm having some pasta, and then I will return to my lounging.
-
This evening we're celebrating Nathan's birthday. It's actually tomorrow, but the next two nights are hosed for all of us. (He and Kristi are the same age, 16 days apart. Both birthdays in February, both turning 51 this year.) And I have just been informed that we're doing takeout from Texas Roadhouse. That will be good.

Speaking of pasta, does anyone here like an arrabbiata sauce? I didn't know about it till a couple of months ago when someone told me to get a jar and try it. Apparently the really great brand to get is Rao's, and the only one I found that day was Vesper Bros. But wow, what a great new experience in tomato sauces. It packs some heat from crushed red pepper, but it's not outrageously hot or overbearing (for my taste), and the flavor is absolutely incredible.
-
I love a good arrabbiata on a thick pasta like rigatoni. Hungry.
-
Wait. I’m conscious. Of course, I am hungry.
-
Finished off The Moon and Sixpence. Denholm Elliott was really good. A great character actor. Olivier managed to transform himself into a hulking Gaugin type.
-
I made a small batch of chicken and noodles yesterday......I shall finish them up today - so I don't have a BIG bunch that will last three or more days.
-
Now starting Starman, a movie I was always intrigued by but somehow missed.
-
Hmmmm Michigan Coach J. Howard certainly showed his true colors AGAIN today.
Suspension seems almost too small a punishment.
-
Yes Smarty was glad to be out on the road.
The name plate looks very nice. The dates are correct and the name is spelled correctly. It is just as he requested.
His crypt faces the west so he will be able to have the sunset on him every day. And he is on the top row.....so no monkey business from marauders, unless they bring a ladder.
-
Rutgers plays Purdue later today.....and I am hoping Purdue wins.
I have several cousins and friends who attended Purdue University - which for a long time was known as a farmers/agricultural college.
I asked my friend Brian if he had pledged to a fraternity there and he said: "Yes, a famous Purdue fraternity: I Grabba Hoe." Which means something different nowadays.

I LOVE this film!!!

Wow, about 30 sailboats just sailed past us. Many of them were rather colorful.
-
Now starting Starman, a movie I was always intrigued by but somehow missed.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did the first time I watched it.

So do we.

Good afternoon.
-
I had two sous chefs this morning; brothers 5 and 9, who both recovered from omicron last month. So I was ok being in the kitchen with them.
-
Gluten-intolerant people are always so pleased to find a treat for them. They don't ever seem to expect it.
-
At the beginning of the covid lockdown a woman began a group on Facebook called ROOM WITH A VIEW. People around the world have shared photos looking out their windows. Many of the photos include stories to go with the photos. This extremely popular group avoids politics and the people are mostly kind to each other.
Currently many of the photos are from the Ukraine. The outpouring of responses of good wishes for peace and for their safety is very moving, so many that not everyone can post a comment.

I think I first learned about Howdy Doody from Happy Days.

Not surprisingly, I've never heard of arrabbiata sauce. I think I might have to look for it.

A Very Happy Double Birthday to Kristi and Nathan!!

Wow, but I guess this is understandable considering your age.
-
Starman was wonderful, thanks largely to the two stars.

Started reading From Here to Eternity on vacation. Got about 100 pages into the 800. I wonder now when I'm going to find the time to finish it. Got a slew of stuff from the library to finish off.

How does it compare to the musical?
;)
-
Having never read it I didn't realize From Here to Eternity was 800+ pages.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, up at eleven. For something that was supposed to be a ME day, well, I haven't stopped yet. Dealing with charts, Dropbox, getting a new chart done for the latest of the two new songs, etc.

As I recall, the musical was only like 90 minutes long. Hardly the stuff of 800 pages.

Making a mistake here that I'm sure to regret when I get no sleep this week, but I'm starting the Andrew Davies version of Little Dorrit, which was always one of my favorite Dickens novels. It's something like 14 hours long.
-
I love STARMAN!
-
If any dear reader likes his/her comedies with a little mysticism mixed in, I heartily recommend THREE WISHES with Mr. Patrick Swayze. It is a lovely movie with a nice score.....and just a little bit extra to make you wonder.....
-
Well maybe not 14 hours, but 14 episodes.
-
Birthday Party Vibes at the Connecticut estate today.
-
I like the book of From Here To Eternity.....it helps that I can sort of picture the characters as the actors from the movie.....
-
I love STARMAN!
I can't think of why it took me so long to see it.
-
I am hoping I get a response to an email I sent tomorrow - since there is NO banking and NO mail on Monday.....

With a young Claire Foy?

I really don't recall if I have seen this version or not.

That is kind of why I never read the book-lol

Four!

Has anyone watched the 2020 series The Defeated? I read that it was originally titled Shadowplay. If I type Shadowplay on IMDB The Defeated shows up instead.
-
Tomorrow is President's Day. The day celebrated by buying furniture, apparently.
-
Good night, friends.
-
I think we will watch that after we finish Father Brown. We have a one week free subscription to BritBox and are watching two episodes a night.
-
'night
-
So, this Dorrit is only 7.5 hours, but it is good. All the twists of the knife that Dickens was so expert in turning.
-
Good night, all.

Virtually any Italian sauce can become "arrabbiata" by adding red pepper flakes to it. I was introduced to it during my first tour in Italy in 1973 (was stationed in Italy 1973-1977 and again 1987-1992).
Of course, it's best when it's made by an Italian cooki!! Just my experience.
-
I was antsy for some light entertainment this evening, and my channel guide did not offer any hope.
I went to Disney+ and what do you think? I watched "The Parent Trap" (Hayley Mills, Brian Keither, Maureen O'Hara). A totally wonderful film after you get through a lengthy and somewhat annoying title/credits sequence.
-
Tomorrow is President's Day. A holiday, IIRC.
No mail delivery, of course.
And sometimes there are some decent sales in major stores.
-
That said, I am off to dreamland.
Good night.
-
Finished with my viewing. Needed some waters so went to Gelson's and got some damn waters.
-
This is horrible!
-
Where was everybody today?
-
We can’t make it.
-
Posting alone.
-
BK posted at 9:48
-
And that was it.
-
We need cleaver dialog.
-
Wrong!
-
Any dialog will do.
-
Where is George?
-
Hell, where is Jed?
-
The problem is these East coasters.
-
They all go to bed too early.
-
Or we need some new west coast recruits.
-
Hmmm, how to attract the right people.
-
Or even the left people.
-
Page five
-
Ron, I also watched Disney.
-
But I watched 20,000 LEAKS UNDER THE SEA.
-
My mother could hardly watch it when she first took me to see it.
-
She couldn’t stand to watch that drug addict!
-
In a Disney movie!!
-
MaryJane. Shocking in it’s day.
-
Now sold in stores all over Washington.
-
And California.
-
And a lot of other states.
-
I don’t know most of them.
-
Colorado is one.
-
I think Oregon, too.
-
Is it legal in New York?
-
If not, it might as well be.
-
Okay, I made it.
-
With time to spare.
-
I started watching the Olympic Cosing Ceremonies.
-
Then I wondered WHY?
-
Usually I finish watching it and then wonder why.
-
Is George over gambling at his mother’s house tonight?
-
Perhaps he fell asleep.
-
Hello, 5 Guests!
-
What is your favorite Disney film?
-
And please don’t say OLD YELLER!
-
Good grief.
-
I may finish another page.
-
I pity the suckers that read page 5 tomorrow.
-
I should have been a lawyer.
-
I can talk on and on, and have nothing to say.
-
PAGE SIX!

I've never made my own spaghetti sauce, so I just might add some red pepper flakes to a jar of sauce that I have. And I already have some red pepper flakes, too.
-
Where is George?
I was busy reading and doing not much else. ::)
-
I started watching the Olympic Cosing Ceremonies.
I totally forgot to even set my DVR. :-\
-
I'm sure that it's available on YouTube or some other website.
-
Maybe even Comcast's On Demand.
