Well, you've read the notes, the notes knew that there's got to be a morning after, and now it is time for you to post until the morning after cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PARABLE!
-
And a happy birthday to Druxy, who only posts when he's written a new one-person play. So, who knows if he'll be by to get his birthday wishes. I, of course, am writing a one-person play about Rondo Hatton.
-
Happy Birthday to Druxy!
-
Well, in the "who'da thunk it?" category...who'da thunk it??
A first print VHS tape of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘The Terminator’ was sold for $32,500 (https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/a-first-print-vhs-tape-of-arnold-schwarzenegger-e2-80-99s-e2-80-98the-terminator-e2-80-99-was-sold-for-2432500/ar-AAUaIh9?ocid=uxbndlbing/). :o
-
No accounting for stupid. Maybe I shouldn't have thrown out all those VHS tapes.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Temperatures are predicted to reach 68F today. Then we may have snow and freezing by Friday.
-
LAST DAY!
I will miss the nurses and technicians, but I will not miss the daily Access-a-Ride angst, the wasted time, the hospital gowns, and the frustrations and humiliations,
-
Congratulations, DRelmoore 3003!
-
Best wishes & Happy Birthday to DR Druxy
-
En garde!

Today, I have an appointment with an optometrist in the Optometry Department of the VA Hospital in Augusta GA.
I have waited a very long time for this appointment.
When it is done, I have every opportunity of stopping at CostCo, but I cannot thnk of a thing I need from there.
I will also pass a Walmart, and I can think of several grocery items I might procure from there.
We shall see.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
THE DAY has arrived! I am so happy for you, DR elmore3003!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for Elmore’s last radiation treatment.
-
Happy birthday, DR Druxy!
-
I have written a play, Mr. Jaffee.
An average conductor’s day, Mr. Jaffee.
It’s all about life on a train.
I call it "Life… On A Train".
I put it down just as it happened
Oh, the things I’ve seen
Oh the things I’ve seen.
If you put that on stage I guarantee –
Take it from me! –
It will be
A big success.
Oh yes!
A big success!
-
Well, I went to the basement to drop off the garbage and brought the bag back up without leaving anything. It's disgusting. I did take more photos for the landlord.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE's last chemo.....ring the bell!
-
Happy Birthday to DR DRUXY.
-
Appt. & shopping vibes for DR RON PULLIAM!
-
DR JANE ENQUIRING minds want to know about your meeting with Jim Hutton.
-
That computer glitch story was very scary MR BK.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is your favorite Ronald Stein score?
-
Hopefully today my sister and I can go over the Check List sent from the accountant....
There is a small Open House at The House tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
-
Are you going to bake an apple pie, DR Jrand71?
-
And now I wait to hear from Access-a-Ride.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Lounged around a bit longer than usual this morning.
Because I can. No rehearsal tonight!
-
DR Elmore is ready to meet his last AAR challenge head-on! :)
-
Yesterday something reminded me of a book from 2015 that I'd heard of but had never acquired - Tales from the Locker Room, in which Cleveland Orchestra members talk about their years playing under George Szell. I downloaded the Kindle for a few bucks, thinking that if it turned out to be a really great book, I'd get a hard copy sometime. Well, the Kindle is enough. I'll enjoy reading it, but it's going to be a quick one. As is sometimes the case with these things, it's a local (Cleveland) publication that leaves you wanting a lot more. In a couple of cases, someone provides comments for a deceased player, but there are several notable people for whom representation is sorely lacking. Anyway, we shall see.
-
Thank you, Singdaw, for the OTTC earworm.
-
Coffee and fresh baked cookies, DR Jrand71.
According to legend, at least, those are the smells you want wafting through a house being shown!
-
Miss Cindy Williams was to have been in town this Saturday, but the show has been postponed until September. Bummer.
-
Vibes for Elmore’s last radiation treatment.
DITTO! And many more!
-

Ask BK:
I know you don't have L.A. all cast yet, but who from the original will be in the revival? I gather Yacko won't be? How about the wrestlers? Is Richard going to MD again?
I hope C.C. Brown's is still in. And the Black Dahlia number. And the Sunset Strip. I'm just naming a few favorites by memory. Looking forward to seeing the lineup.
-
DR JANE ENQUIRING minds want to know about your meeting with Jim Hutton.
We were in a long line at Nate 'n Al's to pick up food from the deli line. Keith & this woman waiting next to us were wearing the same shirt. Jokes between her husband & Keith began. We had a great time laughing and chatting with the couple who were on their way to a picnic. When they went to the leave Keith turned to me and said that was Jim Hutton. He looked so sexy I didn't recognize him. Of course I ran over before they left and told him I was a big fan.
-
From DR Singdaw:
A friend of mine was trying to make special Valentine's Day cookies. But he couldn't find the bags of red M&Ms in the store. So he bought several bags of the regular M&Ms, and picked out all the red ones.
I just found out that he sent all the leftovers of the other colors to me in the mail.
This is funny, and a fun surprise.
-
Keith just informed me I left the edamame I intended for my salad last night in the microwave ::)

Kelli O’Hara and Renee Fleming are going to star in an opera version of The Hours. To be at The Met.
-
We headed out to the gym and didn't get very far.
-
The warning light came on that a tire was leaking air. We pulled into the parking area of the building next to ours to check it out. There is a nail in our front right tire. We came right back to our building. We parked up top instead of in our underground garage. I figure that will be easier for changing the tire. Now Keith is trying to find a new tire and find out if we have some kind of warranty on the old one.
-
I went down to the garage to check if there were any nails on the ground. I saw our neighbor on his way to the gym & told him what happened. He had me walk ahead of him looking for nails, then stopped to look at the tire.
-
My legs are now rather frozen since I am wearing shorts.
-
We have 13 mile winds at the moment. At least it has warmed up to 34 degrees.
-
It was 87 yesterday. It’s 35 now.
-
That is too drastic of a temperature change-lol
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Sadly, no one from the original cast is in the new production - I offered but everyone is just too too busy to even think about such things. As to songs, the only cut songs at this moment in time are Jackie-O and The 1962 Dodgers, both by Paul Gordon. Two new songs go in those slots, and we may have one additional song if the writers ever get around to writing it.

I loved that book and would be very interested in this.
I also really liked the movie, except for how they spoiled an incredible revelation by SHOWING it to the audience in advance of how it was presented in the book. I was furious at how they blew that. At least that's what I thought at the time. I haven't read or seen it since back then (early aughts?), so I might view it differently now. But somehow I don't think so.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Hi DR Kevin.
-
Poor Keith out in the cold dealing with the car. At least he doesn't have to change the tire. Someone is coming to do that.
-
It is nice having Keith around to do all the things I had to deal with when he traveled for work. Well, I never changed a flat tire.
Once I drove a couple of miles to the gas station with a smoking tire. How the rim wasn't ruined I will never know. I really had no choice but to drive the car after the tire blew, it was unsafe to stop. Fortunately I knew where to go as we were close to home.

I didn’t like the movie, except for Julianne Moore. I doubt I’d change my mind. I did like the book, though I haven’t found my groove with Virginia Woolf yet.

DR elmore3003, CONGRATULATIONS. I hope you banged that gong hard enough to knock it off its stand.

Ermengarde, keep smiling. No man wants a little Ninny.

The day is slowly aging.
My trip to the "ophthalmologist" was productive. I will be having cataract surgery in couple of months, I reckon. I always misuse optometry when I mean ophthalmology. I don't know why it matters, but "they" are very particular about it.
I went to CostCo anyway. Got some nice things. Made a brief stop at a small grocery for eggs. I don't need two dozen or 18 eggs. I used to be able to buy a half-dozen at my California grocery (Safeway) but hereabouts, only a dozen are sold.
-
The day has become beautiful, somehow. The sun is out, the temperature is 61 degrees, and it truly feels like Spring.

I shall not be baking cookies or a pie.....we have been told to stay away..... Unless it snows, then we have to clear the driveway and the sidewalk.

Yes, ophthalmologist have medical degrees and can do eye surgery ;)
Come to think of it I haven't seen half a dozen eggs for sale in awhile, but then I haven't needed to buy them in awhile.

We ended up filling the tire with air and driving to Les Schwab to replace the tire.

I'm fairly ceertain that he did more than just ring it. He probably clobbered it!

Oddly, some two hours later as the sun is setting, it's 76 degrees. Temps will not get out of the 60s overnight.

Very cold here today.

New light was installed and tire pressure was upped and all is well. Navigation will be here in the next couple of weeks.

Very cold here today.
-
Have I mentioned that it's cold? I think it just drizzled for a bit.
-
One other big upside to the new motor car is I'm not wasting gas like I was by having to keep the old motor car running for hours every week - idling so the battery would be fine.
-

Here's a fun article about the original West Side Story - I was interviewed for it as were two others, and it's now presented as a round table discussion, even though we all answered our questions separately. It's the guy who wrote that awful, error-ridden book on roadshow films called Roadshow, which I had to stop reading because it was so riddled with stupid stuff, and Mike Matessino - I'm the only one who saw the film during its original release - they both saw it on TV originally - so, as you read their comments, for me, they just sound silly, especially the Roadshow author, who can't talk about it without looking at it through today eyes. Get out with that crap. See what you think. I think I'm the only voice of reason and I think I come off very opinionated but real, especially about the new film. :)

Starting a flick called Titane, a French ode to violence and a woman with a thing for cars. A rather erotic thing for cars.
-
Took Joy out for her birthday. Excellent array of Chinese and Chinese-American dishes.
-
Well, that was interesting. That roadshow guy mainly touted bullet points that you could probably get from Wikipedia, and I’m surprised that Matessino didn’t have more to contribute besides relating how he didn’t love the film that much. Didn’t he also work with Nick Redman on some releases? BK carried the torch, and by the way, great points about the ages of the two casts.
-
Some other publication needs to revisit the subject and get BK, along with other KNOWLEDGEABLE people, to participate.

Gratuitous post 110!

And a happy birthday to Druxy, who only posts when he's written a new one-person play. So, who knows if he'll be by to get his birthday wishes. I, of course, am writing a one-person play about Rondo Hatton.
Any relation to LeaveYour Hat On?
I will get back once I can post freely, but for now, I know the Jack Viertel matter bothers some folk.
It turns out to be stranger than strange, but
If it were not correct, there is no reasonable business that wouldn't want to nip the claim in the bud months ago.

Liked your WSS interview, bk.

Good night, friends.

Okay, so the lead character in Titane has a titanium plate in her head. She has been impregnated by a Cadillac and is lactating motor oil. It’s a little weird. Even for me.

Fred Meyer here has a half-dozens, but they're only extra large, and cost almost as much as a dozen of the large eggs. What's the point of that?? :-\
