Well, you've read the notes, the notes pondered satire, and now it is time for you to post until the satirical cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BIBLIOPHILE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was awake at 5:15 after a poor night of sleep. I would like to finish up my taxes early in the day, and I'm almost there. I think all I have left are the tallies for books, music, CDs and DVDs.
-
Luckily, nothing fraught happened yesterday, and I closed shop around 7:30. I wanted to watch the SOTU address, but I was unconscious by 8:30.
-
Good morning to all.
-
Good morning to you, as well, Michael.
And company.
-
Wordle me this...
-
Yes, it seems the words are getting a bit more NYTimesCrosswordish rather than the way they were before.
-
Maybe, however, that's just a perception rather than a fact.
-
In an hour or so, I shall be at the chiropractor's office. Had a few unsettling tweaks of PAIN this morning as I arose from my slumber.
I feel so helpless when I cannot do simple things without wincing.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Is it nap time yet?
-
Chiro vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
My first reaction to people such as those MR BK wrote about in the notes is to roll my eyes and say "get real".....although I never do.
His reaction was most excellent and I will remember it.....but I doubt I will follow his example.
"Me write.....you talk....."

My mom doesn’t drink. But she’ll partake in whatever they give her at her assisted living facility. Yesterday they gave her a hurricane to drink. She liked it. Said she slept well.
Hic.
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
HA!
Is that Planet Catness?
-
The ones decrying "cancel culture" in our society are the first ones to try to ban anything that they don't agree with. It's an intractable problem, and I don't have any answers.
-
Indeed it is, DR Jrand71. :)
-
Good morning, all.
-
Today I feel like I've got much to do, and not enough time to do it in.
In other words, I'm feeling back to normal following a couple of days that felt "free and relaxing", ho ho ho.
-
That cat gym would be the one on West 82nd Street, right?
-
Yes. I hear they have a great snack bar, too.
-
;D
-
The proprietor is a real character, I hear. 8)

Yes, it seems the words are getting a bit more NYTimesCrosswordish rather than the way they were before.
I've never done the NY Times crossword puzzle. But I've found some wordles lately have not been words that are really used in US/Canada. They seemed very British to me.
-
A few days ago I started doing canuckle, which is Canadian wordle. The last one I did had 2 meanings. And I honestly could not figure out how the main meaning was Canadian.
-
I haven't been on here for a while. Because on February 18th my mom went to exercise at her pool. And had a heart attack and died. So needless to say things have not been great since then. It's just so shocking. And it's been very hard for the family to deal with as she went exercising every day.
-

Along with that is the fear the wincing will turn into not being able to move.
Good luck at your appointment today.
-

Hic.
Wow. I am also surprised she slept through the night and the sugar didn't wake her up.
-
DR Jennifer I am pleased to see you posting again, and am sorry I missed you. Sending vibes of comfort to you and your family. You will never stop missing your mother, hopefully it will get easier coping.
-

LOL!

DR Jennifer, I'm so sorry. My condolences to you and your family.
-
DR Jennifer, so sorry to read of your mother’s death. My sympathies for you and your whole family.
Thanks for letting us know.
-
~~~STRONGEST VIBES OF COMFORT AND CONDOLENCE~~~ to DR Jennifer and family.....
-
Condolences to Jennifer.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep and I'll shortly be on my way to the car dealer.
-
Very sorry to hear that, DR Jennifer. Condolences.
-
I am curious to know about this navigation module and what it can do.
-
The proprietor is a real character, I hear. 8)
Too bad they close so early.
-
Frankly BK, once the word racial is mentioned, all traces of humor, tongue-in-check, and outright satire go right out the window. A rather sad state of affairs, IMO.
-
32 Guests, and not one of them wants to come on down and join the fun?
-
No matter what time I arrive here, there is never anyone else here but me. It must be me!
-
Oh my gosh, Jennifer, I am so very sorry. My deepest sympathies to you and your entire family. My prayers go out to you.
I have finally joined the TED LASSO fan club.
Have any members of the avid reading club here at HHW, read the autobiography by Mel Brooks that came out at the end of last year, I think.
The title is THERE'S BK, THERE'S WOODY, AND THERE'S YOU.
I listened to Brooks read it. It was hilarious.
I made a vat o’ potato salad over lunch break. Now comes the hard part. It needs to sit for four hours. But I’m hungry now.
-
I finished all of my tax work for tomorrow a little before 12:30, watched The Young and the Restless, took a good hot bathm and I'm having a bit of lunch.
I would if I could.
Annabelle is not a sherpa cat. Otherwise you could send her over for some.
Yay :)
-
Good afternoon.
-
Jennifer, I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs.
-
Back from the car dealer and then banking, all of which went rather quickly. My branch is open again.
-
The navigation module is what makes the nav system in the car work. It's all pre-wired for it and it really should have been there but the former owner obviously took it with them. I have no idea how it works other than the map shows me where my car is and what street I'm on. I'm sure there's a video on YouTube that will show me how to program in a destination as well as my home destination. From there it should be easy.
-
My daily digest of CastRecL has been sketchy of late. I went several days without seeing anything. Well, that happens from time to time.
Which reminds me, I'm thinking of cutting back on a few Facebook groups. And I'll ask advice on this: Between Cast Recordings, Cast Album Collectors, and Forgotten Musicals, what could I let go and not miss much? It seems like good, interesting, informative posting is in short supply of late, and I've just been scrolling past it all.
Also, just curious - who is the guy who seems to post nothing but album covers - "From My Collection"?
-
ChasSmith, if you look under the group name, you should see who is posting From My Collection. It’s different people. Took me a while to figure that out.
There is a tiny Ukrainian cheesecake and espresso bar in town. Over the weekend, they announced that all profits were going to military efforts in their homeland. They sold out of everything and raised more than $72,000. That’s so cool.
-
Two days ago, Amazon announced it was opening a second brick-and-morter store in San Antonio. Today, it announced it was closing all its stores.
Wow, people must have donated above what they purchased. I hope they can get the arms to Ukraine super fast.
This afternoon between 3:30 and 4:30 I had the most extraordinary, moving, and heartbreaking experience. It's taken Thatch four years to be really comfortable around me, but he's remained skittish and ready to run at any minute. After I fed the cats at 3:00, I lay down for a bit to let my legs stop aching. I was lying on my back with a pillow at my knees, and Thatch jumped onto my bed, went to the foot to check out Annabelle, who lay buried in the kitty quilt, turned back to me, and walked up my legs to my chest, where he lay down, facing me. I petted him, tickled him under his chin, and he lay there for maybe fifteen minutes. Then he sat up, groomed himself and walked away.
Maybe ten minutes later he returned and settled on my chest/ Then, licking my fingers, he stretched out on his side, using the crook of my right arm to prevent his falling off me and the bed. He extended his front paws up to my chin and brushed my face and seemed bery content to lie there as long as I would let him. I started to worry that his heart was giving out and that he was going to die in my arms, and, as this enormous painful bulge of emotion filled my chest till I feared my heart would explode, I gently rocked him and wept. There was so much love.
-
He lay there for a bit, then Stella caught his eye, and he jumped up and ran after her.
-
Good boy, Thatch.
-
I am tearing up just reading that, DR elmore3003.
-
Have to get ready to head out for Ash Wednesday services.
-
Condolences for you DR JENNIFER and for your family. Very sad news.
-
Lovely story DR ELMORE.
-
I hope nobody had just been hired to work in the San Antonio store.
-
Tonight is the two hour season finale of THE AMAZING RACE......
-
From My Collection is the title of the middle volume of my memoirs.
Wonderful Thatch post.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
DR Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear your news. Vibes of comfort to you and your family.
-
My knickers are in a twist today. Once again I've been wrestling with Cedars to obtain an appointment. It's one thing to have to wait 2-3 months to see a specialist, but it's now that long a wait to see my PCP. That just doesn't work. For many years I couldn't get health insurance because I have scoliosis (an abnormal spinal curve) and had to pay for everything myself. Thanks to Medicare, I now have excellent health insurance, but can't obtain the care I need because of problems with the medical group (in this case, Cedars-Sinai). Gawd! And they don't seem to think it's a problem!
-
I am also very concerned about Ukraine and the inevitable global fallout.
-
Color me annoyed.
-
But, we are here to converse and have a good time, are we not?
-
Jane, yes, I recommended THE WAR THAT SAVED MY LIFE. Really moving, isn't it?
-
I am curious to know about this navigation module and what it can do.
I hear that there's a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it you can just take off and fly over traffic. Very convenient!
Wow!
Michael Tilson Thomas is retiring because he has brain cancer.
-
Hi, Jeanne!
-
Four!
-
Color me aggravated, annoyed or whatever. Just wish the day had been a little better.
-
Yesterday my GrubHub driver was on a bicycle. He told me he does all his deliveries this way.
Oh! So sorry to hear this! But what a fine career!
-
Hello back, John G.
-
Color me aggravated, annoyed or whatever. Just wish the day had been a little better.
Sorry. Maybe it's one of those universal bad days with the planets all out of whack.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Oops. More chiro vibes to DR Ron.
-
Now I'm gone.
-
Sorry. Maybe it's one of those universal bad days with the planets all out of whack.
I was wondering about that very thing just a few hours ago.
-
Had a Chinese chicken salad for food. That's it for today, so another low-cal day.
-
Had a Zoom with David Wechter, and now I'll write the entire final sequence - I'll try to finish it over the weekend. He's started work on a new show - a development reality thing, so his days are now all that, so I figured I'd just write it and then he can read and we can keep what we like and he can re-write what he doesn't.
It was the same for Keith when he called for an appointment. Prior to covid there was a shortage of physicians, at least primary ones. Since covid many have retired or reduced their hours.
-
DR Jeanne if you have an issues, vs an annual check-up, I would expect you to get in sooner. If you need blood work done you should be able to request that ahead of time.
-
I am also very concerned about Ukraine and the inevitable global fallout.
Sigh :'(
-
Jane, yes, I recommended THE WAR THAT SAVED MY LIFE. Really moving, isn't it?
I used the "search" option and nothing came up. I am glad my memory was correct. I am going to begin the sequel tonight. While I don't expect it to be as good I hope I like it.
Again, thank you.
-
Yesterday my GrubHub driver was on a bicycle. He told me he does all his deliveries this way.
Good for him. Did he tell you how many miles a day he rides his bike making deliveries?
-
Shortly I shall be on my way to the theater.
'night
WTH?? :o
-
I got an email that the new West Side Story is now officially streaming on Disney+. I haven't checked yet to see if it's true.
-
I got assigned a new project at work today. There's always the dis-ease of being unsure and/or uncertain, but also the welcome challenge of learning something new. So I am grateful.
Cool!
-
We can do it, DR George!
-
Almost there...
-
FIVE!!!!!
-
Michael Tilson Thomas is retiring because he has brain cancer.
Oh, no!
-
Hi, Singdaw. I'm at the theeder! ;D
-
Well, everything has turned out all right fine today.
-
We played at the evening Ash Wednesday service.
-
Almost done with The Bravest Voices, which I am enjoying, as much as you can about the horrors of WWII. Maybe I'll stay with the theme and move on next to The War that Saved My Life.
-
I'm at the theeder! ;D
;D
A shot rang out...
-
And I’m now watching Summer of Soul, which may be my favorite movie of last year. At least the first hour is a high.
-
The minister tonight said that she was walking in downtown today. She already had ashes on her forehead from an earlier-in-the-day service. She greeted a stranger with a "hello" in passing. He started, looked a her, pointed, and said, "Ash Wednesday! Congrats!"
:o
-
The Staples Singers, Mahalia Jackson, the Fifth Dimension, the Edwin Hawkins Singers, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and the Pips and more in the first hour.
-
Love it!
-
Do you play the lower, bigger bells, DR John G.? Or the mid-range, or the higher bells? Do you have a fixed position, or does everyone switch it up?
-
I never could quite attain four-in-hand.
-
I'm at the theeder! ;D
;D
A shot rang out...
As a matter of fact...
-
:D
-
Good job, DR George!
-
:)
(http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6793.0;attach=13975)
I love it!
-
I guess that's it for me.
-
Good night, friends.
-
We can do it, DR George!
YOU did it, Singdaw! ;D
-
DR Jennifer, I am very sorry for your loss.
The death of my mother was gut-wrenching, so I commiserate with you all.
-
To all who sent chiro vibes, THANK YOU.
I had a decent session. It will be some weeks, I think, before the kinks are sorted out. The doctor said the inflammation in my lower back appears to have developed over some years.
I'm not sure about that, but I have been moving about a bit better today after treatment. I don't go back until Monday, but I will be there bright and early at 9 a.m. that day.
-
The day was all right, as such days go.
After my appointment, I picked up mail at the post office and found a package slip in my box. It was a large, heavy box that I was just able to carry to my car. "Heavy" is a figurative term meaning it wasn't light as air, and it did make me fear discomfort to my lower back. Nevertheless, I got it into the car.
I then decided I was hungry enough to go somewhere for food. I called the club and ordered the rib-eye steak special with a side of onion rings and an unsweetened tea. It was VERY good.
I "rested" for the rest of the day. Well, actually, I did a huge load of clothes which I dried in three separate batches. Got it all done and folded and on hangers, as appropriate. I feel quite current with the dirty stuff cleaned and put away.
I wish I could do more, and I may be able to by week's end. The trick is to not push myself too hard.
-
I wonder who our five (count 'em 5) guests are?
-
Speaking of cats....
-
Do you play the lower, bigger bells, DR John G.? Or the mid-range, or the higher bells? Do you have a fixed position, or does everyone switch it up?
I play wherever needed. Tonight I played F and G in the treble clef.
-
Summer of Soul was so good I may watch it again before taking it back to the library.
-
Now I've started watching a Myrna Loy comedy called Lucky Night. It's not bad, but it's easy to see why it was forgotten.
-
I'll finish it tomorrow.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Six!
-
Good night, all.
-
And we're done!
-
Tomorrow, we'll have an invited audience and then we open on Friday!
-
Back from a fun rehearsal.
-
Just ate a tiny mini-quiche from Gelson's - pretty good.
-
I never could quite attain four-in-hand.
Oh, yes, but it is fun to try.
