Well, you've read the notes, the notes were rough, and now it is time for you to post until the rough cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIMERICK!
-
A Question for BK (a day late)...according to the Kritzerland listing of Shoestring '57 (http://www.kritzerland.com/shoestring57.htm), it says "And the cover art is, of course, by the great Harvey Schmidt." This is the cover that's in the Kritzerland listing, but you'll notice that in the bottom left hand corner is the name DAVID:
-
But this is Harvey Schmidt's very distinctive cover:
-
Will both versions be in the booklet, like you've done before? Just curious. :)
-
No, that's the cover - the Harvey cover is the back side of the booklet and will be there.
-
Cool. And if anyone's interested, I've added both titles to CastAlbums.org (http://castalbums.org/):
Rodgers and Hart Revisited, Vol. V (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Rodgers-and-Hart-Revisited-Vol-5-1992-Various-Artists/7308#71119)
And:

Good morning, all!

If you're in the mood for some Irish music, here are three selections by my favorite Irish composer, Victor Herbert:

To the cats' dismay, I slept in this morning. They've eaten and they atr happy now.
-
Annabelle has developed a new trick. When I'm on the bathroom, either changing their litter or drinking water every day, as soon as I rise up from kneeling on the floor, she leaps from the bathtub onto its ledge and hurls herself at my back. As soon as she's attached to my back, she climbs to my shoulder and rides out of the bathroom. I don't mind it, but it's hell on my T-shirts.
-
I need to make a phone call this morning and this apartment really needs a good vacuum.
-
Today is also St Gertrude's day, patron saint of cats. Annabelle, Stella, and Thatch have gone over to Holy Trinity to light a candle. I don't like giving them matches, so I hope those little devils don't burn the church down.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
-
I don’t see myself eating anything green today, except maybe cucumber.
-
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
-
A very gray day awaits me. It's misty, dour and unpromising.
The pond behind my house looks muddy this morning. No doubt the result of the heavy downpours of last night.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a Happy Vixmom Day to all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
Do you sense a theme, here?
-
This being one of my annual cooking days, I had wanted to get the corned beef started at 9 AM. As it happens, I got the pot on the stove and turned the burner on at 8:59. So not bad, eh?
-
I turned it to simmer at 9:20, and it’s got six hours to cook.
-
re: DR TCB's post last night: The calla lllies are in bloom again. Or so I hear.
-
I am curious about the preparing of corned beef: boiling versus roasting.

Limerick:
A wonderful bird is the pelican,
His bill holds more than his belican.
He can take in his beak,
Enough food for a week,
But I'm damned if I see how the helican.

Last post on page.

There once was a man from Nantucket,
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man,
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.
-
There was a small boy of Quebec,
Who was buried in snow to his neck;
When they said, “Are you friz?”
He replied, “Yes, I is—
But we don’t call this cold in Quebec."
-
And a Happy Vixmom Day to all!
Exactly. Missed you, Vixmom!
-
Do you sense a theme, here?
Yes. Some people have too much time on their hands.
-
;D
-
I didn't realize until today that famed conductor Leonard Slatkin is Felix's son.

Limerick:

Is that from Mr. Ogden Nash? Or merely often attributed to him?
-
Makes sense, though.

Yep. Good family.
-
Of the Back Bay Slatkins.
-
Although he was from the Cape on his grandmother's side.
-
Wonderful to hear from DR VIXMOM last night.
-
Sometimes I get snippy at a rehearsal.....sometimes there is nothing else you can do.
I always try to make sure that the reason for the snip is something happening or not happening at the rehearsal and not some reason that I brought from home.
-
TOD:
Fried chicken!
-
I am still amused at the Grammer cartoon posted yesterday by DR RON PULLIAM and the ANAL EGG HUNT posted by DR JOHN G.
-
Super vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
My cousin and I are going to lunch at O'Charley's even though it's not Free Pie Day.

From DR Vixmom:
I’m tired of going to. The doctor for things to be told “it’s part of the aging process , get used to it you old bag”
;D One of my doctors diagnosed me with O L D.

DR Vixmom, I am very sorry about your eye condition.

Criterion is finally releasing the Blu-Ray of Michael Powell's phantrasmagoria of Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann in June.
-
I got a good laugh over some of the responses to Peter Schiff who criticized Zelensky for wearing his t-shirt to address Congress.
My favorite was “Unfortunately the Kyiv Men’s Warehouse was closed for bombing repairs.”
While reading the story I kept thinking how stupid Trump looked wearing a suit & tie when he was in the hospital.

A friend sent me an image of Zelensky in the t-shirt and the comment (not from my friend) about the picture was that the image on his shirt is the iron cross that's become a symbol of neo-nazis.
-
My friend then texted to me, "I've heard that Ukraine is a neo-nazi government, but can this guy be so dumb to wear it when he's on all news?" :-\

Good evening!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
-
The captain of the Police Dept. in my town was removed last night by the town council.....vote 5-0.
Reasons were Not cooperating with the council and not getting the town's K-9 corps up to speed.
-
Maybe I should apply for the job.
-
You could whip them into shape, DR Jrand71 - dogs and humans alike.
-
And Happy Purim to those who celebrate.
-
(If you want, you can try to count all the triangles. There's a lot of 'em.)
-
Back to The Best Years of Our Lives. It’s shocking that Myrna Loy never won an Oscar.
-
DR JohnG....I don't know the author of the limerick
-
The day has cleared and warmed up considerably. I had a doctor's appointment in nearby Aiken this afternoon. It went well, and I stopped by The Fresh Market on the way home.
Didn't buy much, but got some yum-yums.
-
The NCAA Tournament has obliterated our local news on CBS as well as all CBS programming tonight and tomorrow night.
Whatever will I do?

I remember fun Purim carnivals at temple when I was young.

The cross on his T-shirt is the official emblem of Ukraine’s armed forces.
"The emblem of Ukraine’s Armed Forces was officially adopted by a presidential decree in September 2009. It consists of the tryzub — the blue and gold trident of Vladimir the Great, a medieval Ukrainian leader — placed at the center of a red cross pattée"

Please remind your friend that Zelensky is Jewish, and that we have neo-Nazi's in America. Does he think Russia should invade us to get rid of them ;)

Thanks for the info, Jane! I'll pass this on!

I admit, there is a similarity between them, especially without color added.

I may watch a couple of the bassettball games this evening.
I am unpleased about a development in the estate ordeal....it irritates to me to NO END that we look inefficient because of something our attorney said he did.....but he didn't.....
Which will cause a delay in the first payout of up to 90 days.....so it looks as if my sister and I have been doing nothing since November and will continue to be doing nothing until the end of June.

I am sorry. You might ask him, free of charge, to write a letter stating he missed it.
-
I am reading a biography of Alexander Hamilton which is much more enjoyable and interesting than The Diaries of Patricia Highsmith or the biography of Winston Churchill I had to give up on.
I was not as curious about him as I thought I was.
-
So much has been written about Churchill, plus all the films about him, it is understandable you lost interest.
-
I removed the oversized post. Even if this one is extra large, it does show all three Ukrainian emblems for the different groups of the military.

-
Are the bassets really play ball? I’d watch that.
-
I might enjoy that more DR JOHN G.
-
Thanks DR JANE that's probably the reason.
-
Thanks to DR RON PULLIAM for explaining the EST/DST for me.
It's just that if it stays this way, in Indiana in December, it will be dark at 4:30 p.m.
-
CDs ordered.
-
I'm up, I'm up - fell asleep at five, up at seven until nine, back in bed and slept till two - seven hours of sleep.
-
I shall now be on my way to a meeting and meal, and then the theater for our rehearsal.

Due to the 1973 oil embargo, Congress enacted a trial period of year-round daylight saving time from January 1974 to April 1975 in order to conserve energy.
"And yet the early-morning darkness quickly proved dangerous for children: A 6-year-old Alexandria girl was struck by a car on her way to Polk Elementary School on January 7; the accident broke her leg. Two Prince George’s County students were hurt in February. In the weeks after the change, eight Florida kids were killed in traffic accidents. Florida’s governor, Reubin Askew, asked for Congress to repeal the measure. “It’s time to recognize that we may well have made a mistake,” US Senator Dick Clark of Iowa said during a speech in Congress on January 28, 1974. In the Washington area, some schools delayed their start times until the sun caught up with the clock."

Good afternoon.

Today has been a day of fails for me. Nothing serious. Just annoying.

Has anyone here seen Tootsie the Musical? What did you think of it?

Very interesting.
-
Good news for DR Laura, if the law passes you won't have to follow it.
-
At least I am pretty sure Arizona, etc. won't have to change.
-
And hilarity ensued.
-
So they say.
-
Good night, friends.
-
'night
-
My friend Margo has arrived to see the show tonight.
-
And now, we're at five minutes to places.
-
Tonight after the show, some of us in the cast and crew are going out to do some karaoke-ing.
-
I love performing in shows, but I don't care to karaoke.
-
So, I'll observe, support and enjoy the aftershow entertainment. :)
-
I won't karaoke,
Don't ask me!

The ushers here didn't care for it.
-
Watching one of those all-star oddities from the 1930s called You Can't Have Everything with Alice Faye, the Ritz Brothers, Don Ameche, Charles Winninger, Rubinoff the violinist, Tony Martin, Arthur Treacher, Louis Prima and his Band, plus a novelty act called Tip, Tap and Toe. A certain Louise Hovick, who couldn't make movies under her stage name of Gypsy Rose Lee, is the second lady, the one who gets to pitch fits and scream a lot.
-
The songs are by Mack Gordon and Harry Revel.
-
I doubt I'll even get half way through tonight.
-
One more ...
-
Five!
-
I can't make this up. There's a Ritz Brothers number called "Long Underwear."
"Long underwear, we love you," is one of the chorus girls' lyrics.
-
I mentioned Mom’s cream cheese and olive sandwiches the other day. Here’s the recipe:

-
Good night, all.
-
And we're done!
-
Off to the karaoke-ing!
Be back later!
-
Back from the run-through - act one was actually pretty good tonight. Act two was a bit of a mess, but we cleaned some stuff up and I did detail work on the show's two long sketches, so those should go better now.
-
Thanks to DR RON PULLIAM for explaining the EST/DST for me.

I have always had it with cream cheese and sliced or chopped black olives. The green olives with pimento sound good, as well.
-
I couldn’t get to sleep last night.
-
Then I woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m., so I got up, grabbed some coffee, and then worked on my book.
-
Today is the 4th anniversary of my beloved James passing. Ironically, it also the wedding anniversary of my dear friends, Sharry and Micheal.
-
I got a lovely card from James niece, Kelly.
-
Oh yeah, I guess it was also St. Patrick’s Day.
-
And 53 years ago today, I was on my first visit to NYC!
-
I saw my first (and hopefully last) St. Patrick’s Day parade.
-
It went on forever!
-
We went and had lunch and came back and it was still going.
-
I was with my friend, Sandy.
-
Who, of course, has also died.
-
I'm home!
-
And the day is still open!
-
Well, it was fun watching people sing loudly and out of tune. ::)
-
But everyone who went (there were six or so of us from the show) enjoyed themselves...even me, who didn't sing.
-
We chatted as best we could, and one guy evidently loves to dance, even by himself.
-
After I left at about 12:30 am, I realized that I hadn't eaten since about 2:00 yesterday.
-
I won't starving by any means but I wanted something, so I drove through Taco Bell, which fortunately was still open.
-
I ate my burrito in my car and the taco after I got home.
-
Now that I've eaten, I can perform my evening ablutions and get ready for bed.
-
But first, since we're so close...
-
six ! ! ! ! ! !
-
At the bar, most people were wearing something that was green, and they did have green beer.
-
I did not partake of the imbibing.. as usual. ;)
-
But everyone in our group who did either had food or a designated driver.
-
It was fun...very loud but fun.
-
And now, to bed.
Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow.
