Well, you've read the notes, the notes caught up, and now it is time for you to post until the caught up cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SACCADE!
-
Good morning!
-
This is rather strange being the first postee of the day after BK.
-
Yesterday turned out to be a total nothing of a day.
-
I got up late, had two cups of coffee, and read my emails.
-
In the afternoon I watched the coverage of the funeral for the Everett police officer who was killed in the line of duty last week.
-
Since it was so rainy and windy I decided to skip going to the store or a drive through for food.
-
I settled on canned chili and crackers. It wasn’t exciting, but it got the job done.
-
A little after five o’clock I decided to move to the bedroom to watch ABC NIGHTLY NEWS with David Muir.
-
Glad the power came back on!
-
I had just turned on the TV when the power went out
-
Listening to a stunningly beautiful new soundtrack from favorite French composer Philippe Rombi. Gorgeous tunes, beautiful orchestrations. The CD is pricey and not even available here, but Amazon had the download for eleven bucks so it is now mine.
-
The last new story I heard on our Seattle station was that the number of homes who had lost power had doubled in the previous twenty minutes.
-
Timing is everything
-
I got my juice while it was still light out and settled in on the bed.
-
Not knowing how long the power was going to be out, I sent George a text in case I didn’t get back before the day changed.
-
Well, not long after I got on the bed, I fell asleep.
-
I stayed asleep until 9:55, when the power came on again.
-
I cheered, because it was getting rather chilly in the bedroom; but five minutes later, the power went out again.
-
I got under the covers, in case the power was planning on staying off for the night.
-
When I awoke (when the power returned) it was about twenty minutes to one in the morning.
-
Considering the length of my two naps, I have basically gotten more sleep than I usually do in a night
-
I feel very refreshed, considering it is going on two in the morning.
-
I have gotten all caught up on yesterday’s posts and today’s notes.
-
I have learned how incredibly dark it gets out here in Graham, when all the power is out.
-
I accidentally whacked Sasha in the head because I couldn’t see her sleeping next to me on the bed.
-
Well, it serves her right for biting me all the time.
-
I suppose I will read for a time, and then try to sleep.
-
If that doesn’t work, I will take a shower, get dressed, and head out for some breakfast.
-
P A G E T W O !
-
I think my only choice for breakfast is either Jack-In-The-Box or McDonalds. I don’t think we have any all-night restaurants on South Hill.
-
No all-night restaurants on South Hill. Oh well. I have got eggs and cheese. I could just go to Safeway and get some sausage or bacon.
-
And bread. No, too much trouble. I will just read until I get tired.
-
Congratulations! You are already on Page Two.
-
Good night, Bruce!
-

-
One error, of course, in that the wonderful Cheryl Baxter did not choreograph the opening number - I staged it and I wouldn't call it choreography :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR TCB, Sasha is a biter? She and Stella could be long-lost sisters.
-
And speaking of Stella, DR JohnG, I could never teach her to help with the laundry. She and Annabelle only want to get into the bag and sleep on the clean laundry.
-
Putin may have accused the Ukrainians of being Nazis, but he behaves more like Adolph Hitler these days than Donald Trump. I am really shocked by the photos from Bucha.
-
And good morning, all!!
-
After my doctor's appointment, I will stop at my barber and get what's left of my hair shortened.
-
Wasn't Mozart the TOD on March 31? I posted this then and it still holds:
Mozart
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" for piano
Le Nozze di Figaro
Don Giovanni
Der Zauberflote
La Clemenza di Tito
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Back to the castle today. Or wherever that ball is being held.
-
Another good review, even if the reviewer seems to want the show to be something other than what it actually is. If I’m understanding it right. But good is what counts, and they always recognize that it’s well performed and well directed.
-
A very good day to you, gentle folk.
-
Got a good section of brush and crap cleared yesterday. And boy are my arms tired. I’ll be taking today off from that, anyway.
-
That should be: arms and lower back. Oy!
-
This morning it is beautiful outside. Sunny, blue skies, moderate in temperature.
And yet...and yet...the forecast is a horror. Sometime after noon, an ugly storm is predicted that will bring heavy rains, possible hail, and random tornadoes throughout our region.
If it isn't one thing, then it is another.
-
The painter who will go over the exterior of all my house with power washing, sanding and re-painting will arrive shortly to position his ladders and other equipment somewhere upon my property.
-
I would still be abed had he not informed me he would arrive before 9 a.m.
I had forgotten that working folks started work an hour or so before I usually arise.
But, then...they don't burn the midnight oil as I do, so...
-
I found this amusing...
-
I like coming in here and finding us on page two so early.
-
And we’re almost on three!
-
I’ll stick with Die Zauberflöte from last week.
-
Bye, bye, two.
-
Hello, three!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Yes, you are all gentle and fine folks, as well.
-
I'm a-pointin' at YOU!
-
Even though that's not considered polite.
-
By some.
-
DR TCB, glad that you are powered again.
-
Glad to read that the good reviews for bk's show are continuing.
-
Today is election day in Johnston SC.
The election is for Mayor of Johnston.
There are four candidates, one of whom is a neighbor and friend.
I voted for him.
That was the only item on the ballot.
-
My painter, Jeff, is here right now. We went over his plan of attack, and I have given him access codes to the garage where he will store his tools.
-
Today's storm "may" have been modified down to thunderstorms rather than hail, flooding and tornadic mayhem.
It's hard to tell sometimes.
-
I get calls every day from unidentified folks. Sometimes, it's a valid call from a doctor's office or the VA.
Other times...MOST of the time...it's a recorded line waiting for me to say hello three or four times before the recording starts.
I have taken to saying hello one time, pausing for a reply and then hanging up when a reply doesn't come forth.
It is VERY annoying.
-
Sometimes, someone IS on the other side of the receiver.
I say "Hello!" And the reply is "Barbara?"
My mother's name was Barbara.
I generally ask, "Do I SOUND like Barbara?" That usually flusters the caller and he hangs up.
If they ask to speak with Barbara, I am more civil and explain that she has passed away and that I would appreciate them removing my number from their call list.
Generally, I am met with polite compliance. Occasionally, the caller will say, "Well, you'll do!"
No...I WON'T do...sorry, but a string of expletives generally issue from my mouth before I slam down the receiver.
-
Otherwise, I am having a decent day.
-
Last night's 6 o'clock news was all about the Masters golf tournament.
It hasn't yet started (that will be Thursday), but golfers began arriving last week and spend their days practicing on the course in anticipation of the beginning of the tournament.
The news treated us to people showing off the goodies they have purchased in the Masters store.
It was all about Masters...all agog about Masters...and left me aghast at what I am going to have to endure for the next week and a half.
-
The news anchors spent quite a bit of time discussing the excitement about Tiger Woods out on the greens practicing.
He will decide whether to play or not on Thursday, just before the tournament begins. The consensus is that Tiger, alone, will MAKE the Masters a more exciting event.
That's a lot to put on his shoulders, I think.
-
Okay. That's all I have to say about that.
-
The sky is darkening a bit now. The storm is definitely moving in. It should be at its strongest/worst around 3 p.m.

We just had the Valero Open here. Yawn. Good for the economy. Good time to read.

I cannot think of another thing to ramble on and on about.
Oh, well.
-
Somehow the rambling song of the rambling rambleweed doesn’t have the same lilt to it as tumbling tumbleweed.
-
It looks like the tornado threat is well south of Johnston, so I am breathing a sigh of relief over that. Hail, strong winds and rain are still on the menu today and tomorrow.
-
Nice review - too bad the show isn't WOKE enough for the reviewer!
-
http://stageraw.com/2022/04/04/l-a-now-and-then/
Congrats, BK!
-
The painter, Jeff, has done a fair amount of work on the garage doors and that side of the house (trim-wise). He has scraped, and he will power wash. I expect he will do that to all areas of the house before he starts painting.
-

Sometimes, you just have to be a lonesome polecat.
-
JRand71 -- I don't recall you ever saying how much you got for that teak automobile.
Will you share that bit of info with us?
-
I am feeling a bit peckish.
-
Painting the trim vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
When Jeff leaves, I will go to the postal office and then hunt for some food.
-
I had no idea I had a LEFT pelvis.

I had no idea I had a LEFT pelvis.
A left one and a right one, as I understand it.

Painting the trim vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
This has been a long time in the "looking-for-a-painter" scheme of things. When the pandemic began in 2020, a local guy advertised that he was looking for work. I called him. He came and looked over the house. I told him all I needed to have done and stressed I did not expect him to do everything, just bid on what you can do.
He said he would get back to me with a quote within a week. That was two years ago, and I have stopped waiting for that quote.
-
Waiting on a Quote is the title of my next novella.
-
It promises to be quite riveting.
-
Unending drama, I tell you!
-
DR RON PULLIAM he'll probably drive by and ask you why you didn't wait.
-
Well, it serves her right for biting me all the time.
;D

Always good news a tornado won't happen.

Gratuitous post 102!
-
Wow! Page 4 already?
-
My appointment went very well. My A1C has dropped from 6.6 to 6.4, I've lost weight, and my PSA, which was 6.5 before the radiation, has dropped to 0.5.
-
Unending drama, I tell you!
If it's "unending," then how can it only be a novella??
;)

Great news, Larry!

Good news DR ELMORE!
-
I have ordered a new phone. I have been using an Apple iPhone 5 for many years.....I have ordered an Apple iPhone 7......but instead of 32 GB of storage - I ordered 256 GB.
Does anyone else remember how much memory your first computer had? I think mine was 750K. And we wondered why in the world we needed that much.
-
DR Ginny, I have seen on Facebook that David McGehean has died. Have you seen an obituary for him?
-
Except for the newsof a friend's death, this has been a rather good day.
-
Glad to read of the good medical news from DR elmore3003!!
-
DR RON PULLIAM he'll probably drive by and ask you why you didn't wait.
I wish he would!!

That's what the local weather man told me at noon, but the NWS has put Johnston under a Tornado Watch until 9 p.m. tonight.
Ugh.
Always good news a tornado won't happen.
-
Waiting on a Quote is the title of my next novella.
I hope you can write it quicker than that quote will come.
-
I am watching "Midsomer Murder Mysteries" from the very beginning.
-
It's not the first time, either.
-
My regular TV reception is compromised by the weather, but Amazon Prime comes through brilliantly.
So long as the power doesn't go out.
-
I feel a new page coming on.
-
Is't possible???

Congrats on the extra storage. My phone only has 16GB. The new iPhone 13 mini I want has 128GB though more can be purchased.
-
The student loan repayment pause has been extended.
-
It is gray and gloomy here, and supposed to be raining and/or snowing until Friday.
-
Congratulations, Elmore, on your numbers. I find mine out tomorrow. I hope they’re good. Or at least acceptable.
-
Do you think that "McHaggis" is on the menu in a McDonald's in Edinburgh? Or would it be MacDonald's?
-
These are the things I ponder as I wander.
-
You ain't getting 88 cents out of me, Rose.
-
Just random thoughts from my scary brain.
-
As it were.
-
But it's a post.
-
As DR George might say.
-
And sometimes does.
-
Don't ya know.
-
And I know you do.
-
Well, the day is flying by like a gazelle eating a chimichanga.
-
DR Elmore, that is such a great medical report. Congratulations!

I got my very first computer in high school, maybe around 1982 or '83. It was a Texas Instruments 99/4A with all of 16K RAM! To save your work, you connected the audio output from the computer to a cassette recorder and it recorded it onto the audio cassette. ;D
-
My current phone has 128GB of internal memory, and a 400GB microSD card!
-
And I know you do.
But, of course. ;)
-

Wow.
-
Bobby Rydell has died.
-
Went to a happy hour with coworkers. Nice. But all I want to do now is nap.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eleven hours of very needed sleep. Woke up at three and have been catching up with stuff ever since.
-
Had yummy fried catfish for food.
-
Yes, that reviewer is obviously on a quest of some sort - we have five people of color in the show and those are the five who could do the show. We had almost zero people of color audition. What IS one supposed to do. We talked to a lot of people of color and in fact just offered them the show - funnily, every single one of those people were too busy to do it. But, it's fun to be woke.
-
A couple of other good reviews are coming and I'll have those links.

Sorry, I missed that part of the review. I suspect it won't keep people away if they are interested in seeing the show.
-
It is lovely outside so I went for a short walk.
-
'night

Wow.
My previous phone could (theoretically) support microSD cards up to 2TB, which didn't exist at the time...and might not now. I've only been able to find a 1 TB card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N6YBB9S/).

Tuesday evening greetings.
DR Ginny, I have seen on Facebook that David McGehean has died. Have you seen an obituary for him?
DR Elmore, I’ve seen the same Facebook posts, but that’s all. Sad news, indeed.
-
https://nohoartsdistrict.com/l-a-now-and-then-review/
Nice.
-
Watching an amazing gospel music documentary called Say Amen, Somebody. It’s been decades since I’ve seen it, and the music still thrills.
-
https://nohoartsdistrict.com/l-a-now-and-then-review/
Very nice!
-
I don't suppose there's any possibility of making a revival cast recording with the new songs and scenes. ::)
-
;)
-
I got my hydrangea, a new shrub rose, lavender and my dwarf plumbago planted tonight.
-
I’ve got Fava beans pods on the plant.
-
And I’ve noticed a few plants coming back from the roots that froze earlier. Esperanza, figs, angel trumpets, plumbago among them.
-
Viewing a limited series from Mexico, I think.
-
I’ve got Fava beans pods on the plant.
Ooh! Make sure you stock up on some nice Chianti!!
-
Ooh, the extras on the movie promise many more musical performances.

Bravo, BK! I thought there was 15 members of the cast, but this reviewer lists 13. What happened to the other two?
-
I got my hydrangea, a new shrub rose, lavender and my dwarf plumbago planted tonight.
Not every man would admit to having a dwarf plumbago.

Gratuitous post #171

Tonight I watched the new 2021 musical version of CINDEREaLLAa. It stars Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Pierce Brosnan, and Billy Porter as the fairy godmother. I really enjoyed it. It was just a bit different, but in a good way.
-
Six pages! Pretty cool.
-
But I won’t be spending any more nights posting a page of pointless posts.

I kind of wanted to see it.

It's available through Amazon Prime, so I can watch it if I ever find/make the time.

Well, if your sister would ever give you a weekend off, you could watch it.
-
Tonight, we learned the last of the music, except for one song because the soloist wasn't there...one of the fathers.
-
Page seven!
-
The other two are covers/swings.

There is that. ::) She "needs" me to come over again on Saturday...fortunately, whatever she needs won't take too long.
-
The other two are covers/swings.
Ohhhhh, okay.
-
And I'm not complaining about helping her pretty much anytime this month because she's letting me borrow her car to drive down to Centralia for rehearsals.
-
Once my new car arrives (hopefully SOON!), then I'll have a brand new car to make the trek!
