Well, you've read the notes, the notes had supernatural overtones and even undertones, and now it is time for you to post until the supernatural cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADAPTABLE!
-
Topic of the Day: the French and Japanese cast recordings of Mamma Mia! (not at the same time, of course). ;)
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR singdaw, I do understand their privacy concerns, and I should have asked the company manager if I could send a letter for them to forward.
-
I had BK active brain syndrome last night, and it took forever to get to sleep. There's a show handled by Music Theatre International that needs a clean up and restoration I'd like to do since I need soem work ad income. I broached the subject to the composer's heirs last weekend, and now I wait.
-
Today I need to contact the Pacific Northweest Ballet folk about this new orchestration for La Bayadere, since that was the other subject that kept my mind running in circles last night.
-
We’ve been having high winds all night, I was woken several times by the wind whistling around the house
-
It’s been cold and great and rainy for the past couple of days
-
So last night I made chili for dinner
-
I prefer my chili on the sweet side and without beans
-
But I took Vixdad’s preferences into account
-
So the chili was spicy ( but not TOO hot) and had black beans, kidney beans and white beans along with the beef
-
Vixdads was topped with cheese and chopped tomatoes
-
Mine was topped with cheese, guacamole and sour cream
-
Served over Spanish rice
-
Accompanied by lime tortilla chips
-
Definitely hit the spot

Well another work day
-
Vibes for John’s nephew Herman
-
Surely the school doesn’t expect him to pay for the cello?
-
Good Friday to one and all!
-
I hope it's Friday where you all are. It is here in Johnston SC.
-
I saw some of the rainfall totals for the area in the past week.
One town in Georgia had 9.8 inches. Here, we recorded 4.94 inches.
It's more rain than we have gotten in the past five months, so it counts for something.
Primarily, we are out of "mild drought" conditions...for the nonce.
-
This day has started off brightly and most beautiful.
The Augusta Masters Tournament is going to have very fine weather through the weekend, which is very good for the thousands who will be attending.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Poor Roger!
-
Good morning, all.
For my part, thanks much. Good morning to you, as well.
-
One to grow on....

The only update I received pn Herman is that he’s been released from the hospital. My sister was going to sleep in today and I can’t blame her for that. I’m going to operate on the “no news is good news” approach.
-
My other sister went to Louisville yesterday to do Mom’s taxes. The forecast says it might s—w there.
-
I’m hoping for a drama-free Friday. And I wish the same for the rest of us.
-
Show vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Ah thanks to MR BK & DR CHAS SMITH for the info on the mild Popeye's option!
-
We have received a full price offer + on the house. We will be confabbing with our agent this morning because of a contingency in the offer.....I don't think it's a deal breaker.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Lots of news this morning.
Best vibes for DR John G.'s nephew!
-
Ah thanks to MR BK & DR CHAS SMITH for the info on the mild Popeye's option!
I don't think that was me, DR Jrand71. But I *KNEW* it anyway, so I'll happily take that credit! :)

Yes, things are happening this morning. I woke to a cooler-than-normal house, and one look at the setting vs temperature differential on the thermostats told me what I needed to know. It was confirmed when I went to the basement and found a blinking red reset switch on the furnace. I pressed the reset button and it started up, but five minutes later it stopped. Tried one more time to confirm it was not going to stay on, and called the People. Fortunately, I have an annual service contract and they'll be out this afternoon to fix it. We've been through this before, maybe a couple of times in the past 25 or so years, and I guess it was time for another new starter, or whatever it is they actually replace.
(Also fortunately, we're out of the dead of winter, even if we're still having these weird cold spells. The house is 60+ and I'll be fine in warm-ish clothing till they get here.)
-
Oh, my. What else is going on?
Vixmom, I'll have a helping of each one of those chilis if you don't mind.
-
DR Elmore, I will do a search for Brad Johnson on Ancestry.com. You never know what will turn up in public records as far as more location information or whatnot. And in the unfortunate possibility that he has died, that should turn up -- as long as we can positively identify we have the right person. The challenge will be his common names (could his given name be Bradford, by any chance?) and the scant bit of "lived at" location we have for only a couple of years. So no promises. But I'll give it a try.
-
For the TOD, I am hopeful that this evening will be a well-needed relaxing one for me, and I'll do my best to choose something good and satisfying to watch.
-
I'm not back at rehearsals till next Tuesday and Thursday, and the whole following week is off because of the school's annual spring break or whatever they call these things nowadays. 'Twill be a good ketchup time for me.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Fingers crossed, DR Jrand71!

I had the weirdest dream last night. A woman was supervising our team. The task was to create a presentation about musical theater, with children as the target audience. But she wanted us only to show slides of album covers, and not say anything. I was arguing, "What's the point?" And then I woke up.
-
Maybe that woman in your dream is from this kid's family tree:

Well done, DR singdaw. That dream exactly illustrates my point about those people on FB who do nothing but post album covers, seemingly randomly, multiple times a day, without so much as a comment or anything to start an actual conversation. They rarely even participate on the rare occasions that any meaningful conversation does develop.

It's not snowing here today. Yet. But it's still dark and gloomy.
-
I saw a couple of links to Evening Primrose on YouTube. But colorized. Intriguing, but kind of bizarre.
-
So, DRslapjaw, you have been online here much longer today than I have seen you here in a very long time.
Are we not at work today?
-
He probably isn't anywhere near his computer, but I still had to ask.
-
Of course! Just after I asked, he went offline.
-
Nope! Still here. I am at work, indeed. However, the call volume is light right now, so I have time in between calls to noodle a bit.
-
Noodling for my supper.
-
I'd rather sing for my supper.
-
Onward!
-
Three!
-
SUP - PO - SING
-
We have a tradition in our department that the person who gets the first call of the day gets to shout "BINGO!"
The effect is more diffused when you're working from home.
-
DR John G., do you ever line dance? Or do you stick to the more formal styles?
-
I ate out last night for the first time in eons. Chicken parmesan with spaghetti. It was probably enough for 3 meals, but I ate the entire thing. And wasn't sorry about it.
-
The waitress said she was impressed.
-
DR John G., do you ever line dance? Or do you stick to the more formal styles?
I do. I can do the Boot-Scootin’ Boogie, Cupid Shuffle, the Wobble and one or two others.
-

Yum.
-
Lloyd Kaufman, director of The Toxic Avenger and other cinematic marvels, has a new movie out. It’s his version of The Tempest and it’s titled Shakespeare Sh*tstorm. Can hardly wait.
-
And I mean that, sort of.
-

DR ChasSmith, his name could be Brad, Bradford, or Bradley. He worked, summer 1998, at Goodspeed, East Haddam, and in Manhattan, 1999, where he lived on West 28th Street. He would now be in the age range of 45-53, I'd guess.
-
And thank you!
-
I'll get on that short-Lee.

Holy moley, that post instantly took me back to - literally - my school years in Cleveland, and the kind of meal I had a number of times at a place that's long gone (called the Aurora Restaurant) but which is legendary in the University Circle / Cleveland Heights area. Spaghetti was standard with most dishes, as was their "brown sauce" that people who remember the place still talk about today. Damn. I want it now.
-
The lazy UPS driver who refuses to carry our packages up five steps to leave them at the mailboxes left me a huge carton weighing over 40 lbs at the bottom of the steps just inside the building's front door. I miss those days where the drivers had to deliver the package to your door.
I have no idea how the fat hell to deal with getting this to the elevator. I did call UPS to complain.
-
Well, no luck so far. In that age range, let's assume he's alive and well somewhere, but the name(s) just aren't unique enough to pull up anything meaningful. I've given it every clue I know. If I think of something else to try, I'll do it.
-
Ancestry's search function can be really maddening, though. This doesn't mean he's not to be found there. I'll keep thinking about it.
-
Waiting for the booster. Then I’ll be waiting after the booster.
-
FURNACE FIXED! :)
The guy turned it on, and five seconds later, listening to the noise it was making, he diagnosed the problem as a broken plastic something or other they put in these motors instead of a metal something or other that would last forever. He went to his truck, got a new one, put it in, and was out of here in what has to have been the shortest service call in the history of mankind. I'm talking five minutes, tops. And it'll probably be no charge since what looked like a five-cent part is most likely covered in the service contract.

I usually just "like" the ones I like.

It turns out Roger is our realtor.....the deal is off......oh well.....on we go.

Interesting. I might need to check that out. I do have the remastered DVD...and Kritzerland's CD release, of course. :)

And now...

-
Oy! DR Jrand71.
-
Thanks for trying, DR ChasSmith. I really do appreciate it.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Ordered a sandwich that should be here in thirty minutes or so.
-
Computer was frozen this morning so had to restart it.
-
;)
-
The day turned a bit gray here this afternoon.
Rain is not forecast.
Temps are on the rather cool side. We expect temps in the 40s and upper 30s over the next few days overnight lows.
Brrr.
-
;)
Losers ALL, especially the moron in the center square.
-
~~~VIBES~~~ the the project comes to fruition, DR elmore3003.
-
Sorry about the deal, DR Jrand71. Saint Joseph needs to keep working his magic!
-
We have finally got a little bit of sun here.
-
The birds are chirping.
-
The gazelles are dancing.
-
With dandelions in their teeth.
-
Had a sandwich from Numero Uno pizza - it looked good and I've wanted to try it - also a small salad. The sandwich was decent but I'm now sick to my stomach.
-
It turns out Roger is our realtor.....the deal is off......oh well.....on we go.
Sorry.
;)
Not an expert on this, but I can empathize.
-
Good news on the furnace, ChasSmith.
-
Well, the second booster has tired me out. Slept two hours.
St Joseph has been a total bust for us.
Anyone have this CD?
I do not, DR elmore3003.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I am contemplating writing a book of all the things I should be doing in my life. It will be an oughttobiography.
-
Mega vibes for John G's nephew.
-
Good news from DR ChasSmith.
-
Show vibes for Larry.
I've not been sleeping well again. No matter what time I go to bed I don't fall asleep until after 1am. Not good! At the moment I can barely sta
-
I am contemplating writing a book of all the things I should be doing in my life. It will be an oughttobiography.
:)
I could write one of those, too. Oh, wait: that's my to-do list.
-
Sorry about the sleep, DR Jeanne. That is so vexing.
-
yes, good news from Chas. If you must have a repair, that's definitely the way to do it.
-
And it impacts everything else in your life.
-
I never used to have any trouble with sleep. But that changed when the pandemic hit. Coincidence?
-
And it impacts everything else in your life.
Yes. I can't seem to get anything done. And the to-do list is indeed lengthy.
-
The war in Ukraine has made my sleep worse, but it was a problem before then.
-
I don't feel actively worried, but how can you see so much horror and not be affected?
-
It is 97 here today. Much cooler than Bk's 'hood. It must be over 100 there.
-
It is hard to feel secure or optimistic when bad people are in power. Here and abroad.
-
I don't understand what happened with Roger the Realtor. He's representing you and still make an offer??
-
And I'm not talking about differences in platforms or policy. It's more like a reprehensible (to me) world view.
-
It is hard to feel secure or optimistic when bad people are in power. Here and abroad.
I'm assuming you don't mean my old buddy, Joe. Yes, Putin is enough to give anyone nightmares. I'm hoping the Russian people wake up to what's going on. Would it make a difference? Maybe not, but I still hope it happens.
-
And I'm not talking about differences in platforms or policy. It's more like a reprehensible (to me) world view.
Or a lapse in mental stability.
-
I am very pleased that the Ukrainians are fiercely fighting back and that so much of the rest of the world is trying to support them.
-
Indeed.
-
Putin, absolutely. But also a lot of wannabes right in DC at the moment.
-
Anyone have this CD?
Yes.
-
We had an interesting discussion within our department at the end of the day re: pineapple on pizza. Yea, or nay?
-
I don't think I've ever actually tried it.
-
BTW, Bruce, Yellow Car lowered their rates, plus you can get a fixed-price (no meter) quote prior to calling for the cab. You could then compare that to your Uber quote, but I think YC would be cheaper.
-
I'm trying to imagine what some of the song titles might be on such a CD.
-
Putin, absolutely. But also a lot of wannabes right in DC at the moment.
No argument there. Justice Jackson probably feels the same way you do about now.
-
"London Fog is Such a Slog"?
-
I did a little yard work. There’s too much to be done.
-
For sure, DR Jeanne.
-
"London Fog is Such a Slog"?
I don’t recall it being quite that memorable.
-
I think I'll try for a little nap.
Good weekend vibes to all. Sleep vibes, too.
TTFN.
-
I'm a melancholic. I think I like Fall better than Spring. But they're each a lot of work.
-
Well, we ran through page five relatively quickly.
-
And one to grow on, as DR Ron Pulliam might say.
-
SIX!
-
DR John G. can do the page dance.
-
One Grecian Urn!
-
And I can’t find my copy of Jack the Ripper. I know it’s here.
-
House of Gucci is a comedy, no doubt about it.
Also, I’ve heard I’ve Got your Number from Little Me twice, including Bobby Short’s version.
-
Starting JLo in Marry Me. It looked cute. Who knows?
-
I shall now be on my way to the theater.
-
Marry Me is the second movie I've seen in a week or so that features a song from Camelot. In this, Robert Goulet can be heard singing If Ever I Would Leave You. Belfast had How to Handle a Woman.
-
Good evening!
-
Vibes for your nephew, DR JohnG.
-
Page 6? TCB and George will be happy!
-
Good night, friends.
-
I think I can use some more sleep.
-
Good night, all.
-
I, for one, look forward to this night's snooze.
Why?
Well, it's been a long day! Been a long, been a long, been a long day.
-
Good night to each and every one of you, here and away, asleep and awake.
-
Good nightball
-
The other day, I had a song stuck in my head. That is not unusual, it happens to me often.
-
Especially since I alway listen to the Sirius Broadway channel in my car.
-
However, this time was unusual, because I had no idea what the song might be. Also, I figured out that this was not even the melody, but rather the intro into the song.
-
I finally figured out that it was the intro from “Brotherhood of Man” from HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS. Thank goodness I figured it out. It was really driving me crazy.
-
We had an interesting discussion within our department at the end of the day re: pineapple on pizza. Yea, or nay?
Hell, yes!! My favorite pizza is pepperoni, pineapple and cashews! Mmmmm. ;D
-
Pepperoni and pineapple have been my favorite since college...it was the fave of a suitemate of mine, then I tried it and loved it.
-
Then after I graduated and came home, I discovered that a local pizza joint had cashews as a topping (have always also loved them) and tried the three together and have been getting my pizzas that way (when possible) ever since.
-
I don't think I've ever actually tried it.
You must!
-
Page 6? TCB and George will be happy!
And so will BK, I'm sure!
-
At tonight's familial Phase 10 tournament, we played three games and I (as usual) lost all three. ::)
-
My mom won the first and the last games, and my niece won the second game.
