Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Las Vegas, and now it is time for you to post until the gambling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FUNAMBULISM!
-
Topic of the Day: I do like Burger King's Whopper, and McDonald's Big Mac and McDouble. For local restaurants, I quite enjoy the Tumwater Eagan's (https://www.tumwatereagans.com/) Deluxe Cheeseburger and Big Tom (and I much prefer their tater tots to fries or onion rings); and Red Wagon (https://www.redwagontumwater.com/)'s Deluxe Bacon Cheeseburger and BBQ Burger, as well as their Chicken Teriyaki Burger.

Good morning, all!

I actually slept rather well last night. The alarm rang at 5:30 and the cats scattered. I went back to bed for another ten minutes, and then turned on the light and started dressing. I had many dreams, but all I remember now is one of them happened at Citibank at 86th Street and Broadway.
-
This morning I must call Access-a-Ride and book tomorrow's trip to my podiatrist.
-
I have no real plans for today. I need to look over the items on the ballet that Doug sent me yesterday and email him. I want to talk to Joshie and see what's going on with him. I suspect he's deep into the preparations for Into the Woods at Encores!
-
I'm with DR George on Burger King. I've always liked the McDonald's Quarter Pounder and Big Mac. In New York, about ten years ago we bagan to see various locations for the Five Napkin Burger and the Shake Shack, which I very much like.

Maybe you could wrastle up a side hustle, bk, by writing better thriller scripts for Netflix.

It is Tuesday once again.
I do hope you all have a moment or two to soberly ponder the significance of today: It is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
I absolutely hate it that there are people in this world who deny the holocaust happened, especially given all the evidence, the photos, the film, the personal testimony of the survivors.
People can be evil.

TOD:
I love Burger King's Whopper. I also love the fries there.
I used to adore the quarter-pounder at McDonald's, but I noticed some 20 years ago that it seemed to shrink for some reason. Last time I had one I finished it in four or five bites. I used to get nearly 10.
I like a fresh Wendy's hamburger.
Locally, nothing is better than the burger all-the-way at the Pool Room in Edgefield! The fries are good, too, as are their hot dogs. YUM>
-
Oh, yes!
-
Love that, DR Ron Pulliam. And the solemn thoughts, as well.

Good morning, all.

Has anyone done a side by side comparison of the two I Do, I Do booklets to see what changed?

Today I am back with the stepsisters. Where DOES the time go?

I don’t like many fast food burgers anymore. The quality of the meat isn’t what it used to be. I’ll occasionally have a green chili cheeseburger from the Whataburger drive-thru or, in Louisville, sliders from White Castle. But I prefer a burger from a dit-down mom-and-pop place.
I shouldn’t eat fries or onion rings because of the carbs, but I do occasionally. McDonald’s still has great fries, White Castle has pretty solid onion rings.

DR JohnG just reminded me about White Castle! When I lived in Indianapolis (1979-1984), I was thrilled to find a White Castle within a reasonable distance from my apartment.
Many a Saturday night, late, I would stop there and buy 10 White Castle burgers, onion chips and a chocolate shake. I would drive home, turn on the TV for the evening's horror flick and partake of my bounty.
-
I will take this opportunity to decry the loss of true battered, deep fried onion rings. Yes, they still exist, but you've got to know where to order them and where not to. They used to be the rule, now they're the exception. Some of the best onion rings of my life were regularly eaten at the lunch counter of a downtown drug store when I was in my teens.

Ten! That's admirable, DR Ron Pulliam. Sometimes when visiting Cincinnati, I would stop at the White Castle next door to the Best Western and take a bag of six, plus one order of fries and a large Coke, to my room and do likewise. But ten? Yes, I could probably do a good job on ten if I were hungry enough. I just haven't thought to try it. They do make great car food, though, on those road trips. Oh hell, make it a dozen.

I see BK is on the deck.

We had White Castle slider eating contests in high school. I think the winner in my grade consumed 21 in 15 minutes.

My nephew Herman is getting better, but the UK music program has had some crazy setbacks since his fall. One music prof has stepped down because of pancreatic cancer. A student and member of the wind symphony suffered three strokes in the last few days.

DR ChasSmith: In actuality, I always had a few White Castles left over. They'd be my brunch appetizer the next morning.

Amen! All the places providing me with burgers seem to rely on the same frozen foods onion rings.

I love White Castle burgers! When I worked at Peaches Recrds in the 1970s, the store was down the street from a White Castle, which I loved and the Peaches employees called "White Death."

SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES FOR BRUCE, AND A FUN TIME AT THE EVENT!

Tuesday afternoon greetings! We were up early to meet my sister and her husband for breakfast and see them off to Michigan. They are so-o-o-o ready to be home. They'd originally planned to stay here 2 nights so Nancy and I could have a sisters' day today, but the weather tomorrow is supposed to be awful, both here and in Michigan. Today is a much better day for driving, so we've postponed girl time until next month.

Of course that reminds me of the perhaps apocryphal telegram exchange between Noel Coward and Winston Churchill:
Here are two tickets for my opening night. Come and bring a friend, if you have one. Noel
Can't come on opening night. Will come the second night. If you have one. Winston

I shall now be on my way to the airport, then Las Vegas, then home.

Has anyone done a side by side comparison of the two I Do, I Do booklets to see what changed?
One of the pages was accidentally printed twice, so the info that was supposed to be on that other page...isn't.
Thanks for the corrected booklet, BK!

DR JEANNE - I just read a rave review of a plant-based restaurant in West Hollywood from someone that I trust. Probably not up bk's alley, but you may enjoy it.
Gracias Madre https://www.graciasmadre.co/ (https://www.graciasmadre.co/)
They said it's pretty expensive, but excellent. Maybe for a splurge?
-
My house refreshing process is moving along.
Tomorrow, a guy will come who will screen in my back porch and replace wood that is rotting in a couple of places.
I expect priming and painting to begin by week's end.
All in all, I'm getting excited about it.
-
The day is absolutely gorgeous here.
Temperature is 81 degrees. Low should dip to near 60 degrees tonight.

I looked at the West Hollywood menu. For that area, and the salary base necessary to live there, the prices are very reasonable.

Gilbert Gottfried has died.
Really? I just saw about an hour ago where he was supposed to speak at the next Roger Ebert symposium.

About ten minutes after returning from an afternoon walk it began to hail. It is good we left earlier than usual to catch the window of nice weather. It was pouring when we came out of the market earlier.
-
John, did you take any Advil for your arm? Mine always quits hurting when I take an Advil and never hurts again.

They announced the Broadway touring shows for next season.
Six
A Soldier's Play
Frozen
To Kill a Mockingbird
Beetlejuice
Jesus Christ Superstar
Hairspray
An extra show not in the package is Annie.
Hairspray has already been here; I enjoyed it, so that's fine.
Elmore, have you got any friends in any of these?

DR John I am glad your nephew is improving.

Tonight is the big Dexter binge-watch. I'm up to episode four.

From DR Jrand:
St Joseph did his job - our realtor messed it up.
DR JEANNE I called our realtor Roger because of the cartoon in from yesterday of a cymbal player in the orchestra.....with only one cymbal.
We received a very GOOD offer - contingent on the buyers selling their house with 21 days and if we get another offer, they had 48 hours to meet it or step away and their house had to go on the market on Monday.
Our realtor decided that we should only give them 24 hours and their house had to go on the market that afternoon - yesterday.
They walked away - we gave them an out and they took it. ALL OUR FAULT - I should have told the realtor NO - but you think someone you are paying all that money to knows what she's doing....
Ya think? I don't think we'll get an offer that big again.....
I am very sorry they backed out. It was your realtor that suggested you counter :o I understand reducing the time from 48 hours to 24 hours, but to get their house on the market that quickly was too much.
Vibes you receive another full offer on the house!
-
From DR Jrand:
DR RON PULLIAM as the realtor explained to me - it was felt we might miss out on a larger offer if we had to wait 48 hours for the people who made the offer to counter......and she wanted their house listed as soon as possible.
It seems that the couple were having second thoughts and so our counter was the perfect opportunity for them to bow out......some circumstances were making them nervous.....trying to get their current house ready for showings, etc. So I am thinking they would have bailed anyway and I guess it's just as well they did it now as two or three weeks down the line.....
Then they probably would have bailed after the first inspection.
-
I am now all caught up.
-
That's a lot of posts, DR Jane! :)
-
One of these days, I'll shave. But until then, I'm looking more and more craggy every day.
-
And it's coming in white.
-
So I guess I'm older than the hills.
-
The hills ain't alive with the sound of music.
-
If you want to skip the nonsense, meet up with me on page five.
-
Because by then, I'll surely turn into a sublime poet.

With emphasis on the "some."
-
The Margaret Rutherford theme from her Agatha Christie movies just popped into my head.
-
Minds are weird sometimes.

OK.

PAGE FIVE!!!!!
-
Now DR Jane has more to catch up on. :)
-
Good night, friends.

Got the plants watered since there was no thunderstorm.

That's a lot of posts, DR Jane! :)
LOL, it was. I read them quickly while eating.
-
Now DR Jane has more to catch up on. :)
;D
-
And now I am caught up again.
-
'night
-
I hope everyone had a nice day.
My day tomorrow awaits me. Off to bed I go for now.
I have a visit with my ENT tomorrow afternoon, plus I believe I get to meet the guy who will re-screen my back porch.
The only theme going through my head is the main title to "How to Steal A Million" (a rather jaunty orchestration of "Two Lovers", the song from the movie),
-
"I really hate it when I'm the one who's bleeding."
Dexter
-
Shuler Hensley is playing a fun bad guy in this season.
-
Good night, all.
-
Tonight is the big Dexter binge-watch. I'm up to episode four.
only 6 more to go
-
So the Brooklyn subway shooting was in a station a friend if my travels every day, but this morning he had a fever and sore throat so stayed home
Another friend who is visiting from South Africa and staying in a BNB in the area was just crossing the street to the station entrance when suddenly shouting bleeding people started piling out
-
Vixdad was working from home today I didn’t have to worry about him
-
But this evening I joined my friends at BAM to see Cyrano de Bergarec starring James McAvoy
-
They loved it
-
I was not as taken with it as they
-
It was filled with rap and beat boxing ( or what ever they call it ) and I couldn’t understand half of what was being said
-
But apparently I was in the minority because it’s garnered rave reviews from the critics and the crowd was cheering and leaping to their feet at the end
-
The olde4 cup,e to my right didn’t come back after the intermission
-
Finally back from the day's adventures, a whirlwind trip, and a meal after I returned to Burbank. Must catch up now, but all will be revealed in the notes.
-
In fact several older folk didn’t come back
-
Maybe I was too old to get it
-
Anyway
-
It’s late and I have to get up in 5 hours
-
Goodnight
-
Gilbert Gottfried has died.
Oh, no. :(
-
Thanks for those details, DR George!
My pleasure, Singdaw.
-
So I guess I'm older than the hills.
I must be the hills, sweetie!

T.O.D.
1.). Frisco Freeze (A local obsession) Double cheeseburger with fries and tarter sauce
2.). McDonald’s Quarter pounder with cheese; and, of course, fries
3.). Wendy’s Dave’s single with everything and chili cheese fries

Shuler Hensley is playing a fun bad guy in this season.
Isn’t he currently in THE MUSIC MAN?
-
Rehearsal tonight went well.
-
We learned the choreography for the end of the show.
-
The young woman choreographing the numbers doesn't realize that old, fat bodies cannot turn all the way around in one beat. :o
-
The young, fit bodies can, but that's not me.
-
We'll see if I can eventually learn the movements.
-
Tonight I
watched screened two films, both, I believe, on Amazon Prime.
The first one was a rather strange remake of TEN LITTLE INDIANS. Instead of being trapped in a creepy old mansion on a private island, this time they are stranded in the middle of Africa supposedly on a safari. It worked most of the time until one of them said, “I think it would be best if we all stayed in our own tents tonight, with the flaps closed. And, if anyone comes to your tent, don’t open the tent to them.”
-
Yikes. ::)
-
The second film was ROYAL WEDDING. After I watched it, I realized why I don’t care for the film. I hate Jane Powell’s singing voice.
-
