Well, you've read the notes, the notes cued the vomit, and now it is time for you to post until the vomiting cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TIMELESS!
-
Not a fan of vomit scenes either, unless they're quite humorously done.
-
If anyone's interested, OperaVision (https://www.youtube.com/c/OperaVision/featured) is now streaming the Hungarian State Opera's production of Wagner's Parsifal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5O17S4uHZ0). It'll be available on YouTube until October 15.
-
Today, I'm meeting my friend David for lunch and a visit, and then I'll head to Centralia at around 4:30. We'll pick up where we left off last night (we had about 20 pages left when we had to leave at 9:00), then we'll get some notes before we have our one and only performance.
As I frequently say, "It'll be what it'll be." ::)
;)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a terrible night of sleep, and I think I was awake and tossing about more than I slept. Annabelle slept peacefully next to me, and Stella behaved quite well until 4:00 or so, when she decided to sleep on my feet. This worked my last nerve because I could not move. She's a hefty kitty and I'm a physically impaired gimp.
-
I also had dreams that I lived in the 18th century, and the dream seemed to shift on and off from then to Dayton, Ohio, 2022. I was in a coffee house or some sort of club with a group of colleagues and I rode a horse, then I was inb this huge library looking for a volume of Congreve's plays with Joe Deer from Wright State University, then I was back at the club and they were rehearsing The Beggar's Opera, and so on.
-
Last night we watched more of Season 2 of Hot in Cleveland. I do love Betty White.
-
Good morning to all

Good morning.
Happy Saturday!
So glad to be here.
-
Nice night's sleep. I know I dreamed, but nothing scary, upsetting or major.
And, of course, I can't remember a thing about my dreams.
-
TOD: Just the description of Anatomy of a
Murder - sorry, Scandal - was the closest I've come to anything visually gross.
I did see "Salo" by Pasolini and found it grotesque.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Today is an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the Blue Collar Bistro less than a quarter mile from my house.
I get mine to go...and they give me generous helpings. I cannot imagine getting up from a table and asking them for more. Once, maybe. Not now.
-
STUNT VOMIT! ON THE DOUBLE!
-
Tis the season...
-
I did the obligatory Salo watching, but I’m not sure it measured up to Pink Flamingos.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Saturday! Hopefully it will be a nice day.
My sister and her husband are going to mow my front/side yard. I mowed my backyard myself yesterday - the first harvest of the year.
-
Later I shall tell the tale of the excitement in the neighborhood yesterday.
-
I did not know of the Patrick Swayze special either......since I got my new cable box - I am trying to learn how to use the guide....and I don't check the networks every night.
I would think it was on ABC ONDemand if you have Comcast or some other service.
-
I did the obligatory Salo watching, but I’m not sure it measured up to Pink Flamingos.
Both of those top my list. And maybe any Madea scene — I haven’t been able to stomach a whole movie.

I have to finish packing.

Good morning!

I don’t want to watch anyone vomit ever.
if it’s absolutely vital for storytelling purposes I want it done off screen, I don’t need to see graphic spewing
-
My neighbor Ann stopped by this morning, and while she was here, Thatch decided to show her how much he loves me.
-
Just saw that on Facebook. A fantastic picture, and I can hardly believe he’s doing that — at all, for one thing, but also with her being right there! And he looks huge!

So, iPhone now just gives you a cord with the phone, not a charger "to save waste". Except they also changed the size of the part on the cord that goes into the old plug. For now I am using my old cord.
The new size is the same as the Samsung plug. It would be nice if all plugs in the future would fit all devices.

Yes, in college.

Good afternoon, friends.

Love that photo of Thatch with DR elmore3003! Thanks for sharing.

I have a long list of "to-do"s for this weekend. Most of the stuff that I never completed last weekend. Sigh.

Even the original, or the expanded version with the Bob Cuccioli additions?
-
We went out to eat for breakfast. There's a restaurant at the old (tiny) airport. The food was excellent, and it wasn't too crowded. In clement weather, they have 2 outdoor decks where you can eat and watch the small private planes land and depart. The building that the restaurant is in is quaint and on the Historic Register.
-
DR George - sorry, I got my signals crossed - I thought your last-minute performance was last night.
-
In a few weeks, I will serve as the "liturgist" at the church where I sing. This means leading the service at the beginning, up through the sermon. When I do this, I have the option of reading some canned text, but I generally prefer to write my own prayers. In the middle of the night, I woke up with a flash of inspiration. And I knew I needed to get up immediately and write it all down, or it wouldn't be there this morning. Which I did. And I was even able to get back to sleep.
And this morning, I can still read what I wrote. So there's that.
-

The original was never released, only the Penthouse version.

Today is the day that Odysseus (Ulysses) returned to Ithaka to regain his kingdom, slay his wife's suitors, and restore order after 20 years away.

Travel vibes for John

Good afternoon.
-
I made a few batches of sugar cookies for the children to frost and decorate tomorrow after the breakfast and before Sunday School. We'll put them out for the adults to eat while the kids have their egg hunt after the worship service.
-
I never understood the egg hunt at church. But I'm not in charge.
-
I guess the light houses for this weekend are understandable - Passover last night and tonight, and Easter tomorrow.
-

That sounds like fun for the children.
-
I never understood the egg hunt at church. But I'm not in charge.
Due to the fact it is a church or simply the due to the space?
-
The secularism. It would be like having Santa after the Christmas Eve service.

Now I'm making a batch to give to the neighborhood children.

I'm a neighborhood child.

Follow the inspiration DR singdaw - that's always good advice.

My new camera on my phone takes nice photos. Next test will be to take the same view with my phone & Keith's to see which takes the best photos.
-
My phone never took great photos and Keith's phone is a bit large for my hands making it uncomfortable. It would be nice to get better at photo taking by practicing with my own phone/camera.

We’re watching an old Colombo episode.

We finished going through act three from where we left off last night, and now we're running act two, which has the most stage business...that we're totally faking. ::)

I’m running hot and cold. Too much sci-fi for my tastes, and there isn’t a lot of sci-fi in it.

Trying to find the new series of Midsomer Murders, which was supposed to premiere tonight, but it doesn't seem to be on my PBS portal.

This is why I don’t make those kinds of lists. No disappointing myself.

So the bells are playing without you tomorrow morning, DR John G.?

Gratuitous post 102!

So the bells are playing without you tomorrow morning, DR John G.?
Yes. A couple of others will be gone, too. I think they’re playing along with the organ on a couple of hymns. I’ll find out in the morning.

My issues is it feels too much like short stories that leave you hanging. It seems like they might be wrapped up later in the book. I'm just not sure I want to wait that long.

Good night, friends.

The secularism. It would be like having Santa after the Christmas Eve service.
We have a “Eggstravaganza” the Saturday before Easter (today) where they usually do a big breakfast, then games and crafts , pictures with the Easter Bunny (!!!), followed by an egg hunt on the church lawn
They didn’t start this until about 10 years ago so I’ve never attended as the Vixter was already an adult .
Apparently there is a point where the Pastor tells the story of Easter and they hand out coloring sheets with the Easter story and there’s some craft project celebrating the resurrection, but I understand your point completely, Laura.
-
We also have a big family celebration one Saturday in Advent where Santa appears.
Apparently he tells the story of the nativity to the little ‘uns
-
Another event I’ve never attended

I would just like to stop this discussion thread for an important announcement.

I will brook no argument on this matter

You may now resume your activities

Of course, while celebrating your new enlightenment

And adding lime tortilla chips to your respective shopping lists

I pretty much agree.
As do I.
-
We're into the second act of the actual performance.
-
It's going...well enough. ::)
-
Even though we have scripts in hand, I've dropped a couple of lines and totally goobered a moment with the bad filled with champagne bottles.
-
I took the bag off and wasn't supposed to. I didn't know what to do with it, so off it went.
-
I then realized that it was needed right away, so I brought it back on just as the actress playing Lord Fancourt (it is just a staged reading, mind you) asked my character to bring it back on...so back on I brought it.
-
Otherwise, we're getting through it.
-
Only 24 more pages to the end of act two! :-\
-
Did I mention that it's a LONG play??
-
Intermission...we just had a blue-out scene change between the first and second acts, but now we have 10-15 minutes in between the second and third acts.
-
I actually laid down on the bed and took a nap - about ninety minutes, I'd say, maybe even two hours.
-
Now what?
-
What now?
-
I did go to the mail place - no packages after a week and just two envelopes, one of which was a six-dollar residual for something or other.
-
Now what?
-
Had a chicken Caesar from Gelson's at one - so, thinking maybe I should eat a little something else now. What that would be, I have no idea and I also have no idea what that would be.
-
Hope the show is going well with a non-Jew audience.
-
Six!
-
Show vibes for George and BK.
-
And we're done!
-
Hope the show is going well with a non-Jew audience.
It went pretty well. I'd heard that there were a dozen or so people in the audience, so there was some laughter. They did seem to enjoy it.
-
Show vibes for George and BK.
Thanks, John! ;D
-
Now, to head home.
-
Ordered Popeye's chicken nuggets - twenty-four - ranch and cocktail dipping sauces. Arrived: about sixty pieces of wretched nuggets, of which I had about twelve, horrid ranch dipping sauce and somehow cocktail was interpreted as tartar. Fail.
-

I found it I believe it is on Hulu. I watched it, but I have no way to tape it. My sister really wanted to see it. It was very nicely done.
-
My great nephew and his girlfriend are holding Easter dinner this year, so I will be staying home. Neither one of them has had any vaccination, so I don’t dare risk it. Oh well, a nice day to stay home and watch JESUS OF NAZARETH.
-

I have seen some churches who did that.

Lime tortilla chips??

I watched a 2018 movie I had never heard of before. It was called HOW IT ENDS (not to be confused with the 2021 film of the same name). It stars Theo James and Forest Whitaker. It reminds me of a 1950’s sci-fi movie.
-
I enjoyed it, but I was exhausted when it was over.

I was charged with bringing mushrooms
To Bonnie’s house? I don’t think they will allow them on the plane.

I think there were a couple that worked, but the pay streaming services have that ability blocked and my programs can't override that. The Netflix movies that I've <ahem> procured were actually from others who have better capturing programs than mine.
