Well, you've read the notes, the notes were million-dollar notes, and now it is time for you to post until the million-dollar cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ELICIT!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite well. Stella was an agreeable sleeping partner with none of her usual romping throughout the night. Annabelle slept nicely on her piullow, and Thatch's new sleeping location is my computer chair.
-
Good morning to all. Hope everyone has a great week.
-
BK, for reasons unknown, I have very recently spent several days wondering about Brahm's Lullaby, but your notes made me finally go to Wikipedia to learn more. I always thought it was a corruption of a Brahms melody from a piano or orchestra piece, but no, he wrote it as a song:

Amazon Fresh is delivering a few items between 11am and 1:00pm. I must print and pay a few bills, and see how some of those ballet scores Doug sent me print out. I also must begin mty essays on why two shows need recording and finish the estimatewd budget for three Dublin recordings. I will not finish all of this today, but I must finish by Wednesday morning.
The bills are today's priority. I should have done that yesterday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Getting ready for the office. Sigh.
-
Will answer the TOD later. Love me some Thai food.
-
Would rather be sleeping 20 more minutes.

A gracious good Monday morning to you all.
Here in Johston SC, it is gray, wet...typical gloominess.
Jeff, the painter, is here and will be painting my doors today.

Nice video of your about-to-land experience, Bruce.
Were you the only one speaking English on the plane?
-
Jesus H. Christ! My Hewlett Packard black ink cartridge has gone from $65 in January 2022 to $84. This is ridiculous.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Still no news here. Except that it is snowing again.
-
A friend, Richard, who does by "Dick." has a birthday today. I did a Google Image search for a cake to post to him. I was shocked at found I found. Well, maybe I shouldn't be.
-
I stuck with Richard, instead. Safer.
-
:)
-
bk, your film review was most entertaining.
-
Good morning, all.

I've been trying to get the lay of the land in BK's video. The Valley can be tricky, even though I've logged many air hours over it. That looks like Ventura Blvd. in the foreground, but I can't positively identify which segment, or any of the other features I see as being distinctive.
LATER: Okay, I've got it. Yes to Ventura, the plane's heading east, and that major north-south street is Reseda. The dark area to the northeast is the Sepulveda and those other golf courses, whatever that area is called nowadays.
How did I do?
-
I cut my finger on a metal can I opened yesterday. It took a long time to stop bleeding, and it's still quite tender.
-
TOD:
I had my first Pad Thai yesterday. That's a lot of vegetables!
-
I enjoyed MR BK's video very much. I like to take off and land in the daytime - but the night time view was most excellent.
-
I am awaiting a couple of phone calls so that I can continue in a direction or two......so we wait.
-
I answered my Security Question for my online banking, but the computer told me it was incorrect. I don't think it was.....I do know the month and year of the birth of my oldest sibling.....
Now I am locked out and waiting for a call so that I can look at my statements, etc.
-
One more post.
-
Or not. PAGE TWO.

I enjoyed seeing the JB Hideaway!
-
Did you ever have one of those nights?

Is JB named for the play by Archibald MacLeish?

Nope. The writer J.B. Priestley.

There’s are a few J.B.s out there:
James Brown
Jackson Browne
J & B Scotch
Jungle Boogie
Junk bonds
James Bond
Justin Bieber

TOD:
Favorite Thai dishes include:
Tom Kha Gai soup, chicken soup with coconut milk
Green curry with most any kind of meat
Red curry
Green papaya salad with extra heat
Yum nua, a spicy beef salad
Sticky rice with mango
Thai donuts
-
I like Thai food hot enough to make the waiter turn away.
-
I haven’t eaten food that hot in a while. I may have to go in training.
-
HA! I'm so unadventurous. I always order Thai food mild, mild, mild.
-

I actually learned and sang the song in my voice lessons in college. I had taken a class on how to pronounce foreign languages (Latin, Italian, German and French), so I was able to sing it (at least, back then) with pretty accurate German pronunciations. :)
-
Topic of the Day: I've only had a few Thai dishes, and I enjoyed them all, but I don't remember the names of what I ordered. ::)

Larry, check out the Epson Ecotank printers. Their ink bottles are less than $15 each (deoending on where you get them)l, I'm sure) and they really last years!

Today has been really chilly, but the weather guessers promise the storm system is moving out and will be replaced by sunny and warmer weather.
On the other hand, I see that the northeastern U.S. is likely to get another blast of snow and winter weather tonight and tomorrow.
Stay warm, y'all.

My doors are looking pretty darned good right now with all the cleaning, sanding and painting that has been done on them.

Something tells me the timing is off for NordOst, “The First Russian World-Class Musical.”
Also billed as “The best night out in Moscow.”
-
Listening to Gershwin Country, Michael Feinsten’s album of duets with country singers. Nothing wrong with it. But nothing much right with it either.

Painting is done for the day.
We are hoping the rest of the week is bright and warm.

More like straight to Muzak/elevators. Soothed by Xanax.

I’m tired.

I just took both the trash and the recycling cans down to the road. That's 230 paces, one way, pulling two large receptacles, one in each hand - downhill, uphill, and downhill. And I brought the mail back up with me. So I deserve a rest, now. Right?
-
I accomplished some work, watched The Young and the Restless, and then completely zonked out.
-
Good afternoon!

Your cats are young and restless at any rate, DR elmore3003. :)

Sounds nap worthy to me.

Yes.

Another restless night, perhaps?
-
I’m listening to Rockabye, Hamlet. Why? I really don’t know.
-
Musical masochism Monday.
-
There was a light dusting of s**w on the vehicles this morning....and we are now at the high temp of the day at 41 degrees.
-
Between DR LAURA's story about yesterday and the trek of DR CHAS SMITH with the garbage cans, I am exhausted.
-
Up at noon after eight hours of sporadic sleep.
-
Then phone calls and getting stuff done. I did start writing before bed last night, so that was good, and I'll continue later tonight.
-
Hot dogs for food.
-
Relaxing for the moment.
-
I’m listening to Rockabye, Hamlet. Why? I really don’t know.
I love "The Last Blues Song."
-
DR John at least your covid test doesn't hurt. The one I had before my endoscopy really hurt.
-
Oh, and congrats on being negative.
-
A friend, Richard, who does by "Dick." has a birthday today. I did a Google Image search for a cake to post to him. I was shocked at found I found. Well, maybe I shouldn't be.
I personally think it is a shame when unpleasant expressions ruin perfectly good names.

I am sorry for laughing. These questions can be ridiculous and they don't always give you the option to pick another question.

HA! I'm so unadventurous. I always order Thai food mild, mild, mild.
That is how we order it.

I could handle that when I still drank glasses of milk which work great for cooling the heat.

I am glad you are pleased with the results.

On Keith's birthday we are going to eat at a favorite Tai restaurant.
-
I will order Pad See Ew with tofu.
-
We will likely get spring rolls as an apitizer.
-
Keith might order Pineapple Fried Rice with tofu and we will share.
-
Keith might order Pad Tai.
-
With tofu of course.
-
He likes Pad Tai more than I do though I have never said no to eating it.
-
I hope we see photographic evidence of DR RON PULLIAM's abode.
I am thinking about a new fence in the backyard....we shall see. It's about a month away.
-
To the horror of the food o philes here at HHW I had the Marie Callendar frozen Chicken Alfredo for dinner.
At $2.95 and six minutes in the microwave, it is a nice substitute for a real meal....and only a spoon or fork to wash afterwards.
-
All that matters is you enjoyed your dinner. I like the ease of the clean-up.
-
DR John I am considering reading The Song of Achilles. Do you recommend it? All I know is you were reading it a few years back.
-
The only Thai food I’ve had is Pad Thai, and I’ve only had the vegetarian and mild version that you make in a microwave. But I quite enjoyed it

Yesterday we went to my brothers home for Easter
-
We brought my Mom.
Also there in attendance were my SIL’s parents, her best friend with her husband, her daughter and Her husband
-
And four dogs
-
They are all very nice people
-
But none of them have “inside voices”
-
Vixdad kindly drove
-
Along with my Mom, her lemon meringue pie and lemon Bundt cake, 1/2 gallon of ice cream, cauliflower casserole, and mushrooms, I brought a bottle of wine
-
I offered the wine around but no one wanted any.
So I had a glass
-
They had the television blasting some BBC show about painting authenticators
-
It was a reality type show where they try to determine if some regular folk’s picture they found in a thrift shop, or in a rubbish pile is really a priceless masterpiece
-
I imagine it would have been really interesting if I heard any of it
-
Though I did get a synopsis yelled over the top it by someone , which was then contradicted by someone else ,while other people argued about what choices people could have made
-
I offered the wine around but everyone was outraged because some rich guy was trying to take possession of a picture someone else found in a dump 20 years earlier
-
So I had a glass
-
Someone was complaining because the barbecue had been heating up for 45 minutes and no one had grilled anything yet
-
So someone else decided to start grilling the lamb shish kabob
-
The dogs got very excited that other people were going outside and making nice smells
-
They were unanimous in expressing their interest in going outside as well
-
I mentioned there was some very nice wine there on the beverage table but no one really heard me
-
So I had a glass
-
The person grilling the lamb mentioned that the propane seemed to have run out
-
The person who previously mentioned how long the grill had been heating up mentioned that fact again
-
And again
-
And perhaps a third time
-
Another person mentioned that maybe someone should have gotten a spare canister of propane
-
Someone else mentioned that the lamb looked cooked enough and just leave it in the grill with the lid down and it would be fine
-
There was some debate over whether eating rare lamb was a good idea or would lead to certain death
-
I explained there was still some wine left in the bottle
-
But everyone was deep into the lamb debate
-
So I had a glass
-
And the turkey
-
And my mushrooms
-
And my cauliflower casserole
-
I was inexplicably too full for lamb
-
But managed a piece or two of Moms lemon meringue pie
-
And a glass of wine
-
They don’t make those bottles as big as they used to
-
I only got half a glass out of it
-
It was a good thing Vixdad offered to drive because I was suddenly really sleepy
-
I guess I didn’t get enough sleep the night before , because it was only like 7 o’clock
-
When we got home I sat down in the recliner while Vixdad went to make tea
-
Then it was today
-
All in all it was a great Easter
-
Much better than DR Laura’s morning
-
That was an excellently told story Laura
-
And I think the flower making person had a hell of a nerve to do that
-
I was also surprised the service only lasted 10 minutes
-
Our sermons alone usually run twice that
-
I wish the other parishioners recognized what a treasure you are
-
Oh my dear! Dear DR vixmom, you do make me laugh. Uproariously. :-*
-
I hoped everyone else’s Easter was at least as enjoyable as mine
-
I have been in the kitchen since I got done working.
-
And that's a wrap.
-
SIX!
-
Good night, friends.
-
But none of them have “inside voices”
;D
-
Along with my Mom, her lemon meringue pie and lemon Bundt cake, 1/2 gallon of ice cream, cauliflower casserole, and mushrooms, I brought a bottle of wine
Yum.
-
I offered the wine around but no one wanted any.
So I had a glass
If it was white I would have had some.
-
They were unanimous in expressing their interest in going outside as well
:)
-
So I had a glass
;D
-
So I had a glass
Now I know why you stated Vixdad drove ;)
-
And a glass of wine
:))
-
And I think the flower making person had a hell of a nerve to do that
I agree.
-
'night
-
DR John I am considering reading The Song of Achilles. Do you recommend it? All I know is you were reading it a few years back.
I like all books that retell the Greek myths. I remember finding this one sad and lovely. You know the ending, which makes all the choices they make sad. You can’t stop it from coming. Yet his relationship with his lover was really well handled.
-
I started listening to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, a YA novel read by Lin-Manuel Miranda. I’m enjoying it. I also started Frank Bruni’s Born Round, which is read by the author. Pretty funny.
-
I’m listening to Rockabye, Hamlet. Why? I really don’t know.
I love "The Last Blues Song."
There were a couple of really beautiful songs there. That one and “If My Morning Begins.”
-
Good night, all.
-
To the horror of the food o philes here at HHW I had the Marie Callendar frozen Chicken Alfredo for dinner.
At $2.95 and six minutes in the microwave, it is a nice substitute for a real meal....and only a spoon or fork to wash afterwards.

-
I enjoy playing wordle everyday. But I love canuckle, the Canadian version even more. It's a Canadian word every day.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Along with my Mom, her lemon meringue pie and lemon Bundt cake, 1/2 gallon of ice cream, cauliflower casserole, and mushrooms, I brought a bottle of wine
Was that the entire extent of your Easter dinner?
-
T.O.D.
I like Thai food on the same level as Vietnamese food
On the very bottom.
-
Our sermons alone usually run twice that
You have a sermon at the sunrise service?
-
A friend of mine called and begged me to go with him to his family dinner yesterday.
He was told to bring ham.
I declined.
-
Since I had pasta with meat sauce for Easter dinner, I thought I would get something a little more “holiday” for later this week.
-
I am not crazy about ham, so I thought I would look for one of those pre-cooked turkey breasts. Today I tracked some down at Freddie’s that looked very nice.
