Well, you've read the notes, the notes spilled the beans, and now it is time for you to post until the spilling the beans cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAOUTCHOUC!
Smoke on your pipe and put that in!
-
Topic of the Day: "What a coinkydink!" The only time that I actually heard it was on a modern rebroadcast of Rowan & Martin's Laugh In, but I can't remember if it was Rowan or Martin who said it, but HERE (https://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2016/12/coinkydink.html) is a bit of a history lesson about the word...and it mentions Rowan and Martin. :)

Good morning, all!
-
I have a busy morning. Access-a-Ride will pick me up and take me to my pharmacy. Then it will pick me up and take me for my Covid booster #2.
-
I slept well last night although Stella was a constant irritation until she finally settled down around 4:30 and snuggled up next to me for the last 90 minutes,
-
I'm happy to hear that DR KevinH made it to LA and saw last night's show. I'm loopking forward to his report.

Congratulations to DR George on his lofty new plateau!

Good morning, friends.

Despite appearances, I have not, in fact, been here all night.

Congratulations, DR George, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!

There is also "spill the tea" which I only learned within the past year.
There are easily several such expressions I enjoy pulling out now and then, for their humorous or even oddball shock value, and of course now that I'm sitting here trying to answer the question, not a one comes to mind. I'll have to post them as I think of them, and I look forward to hearing other people's favorites.
-
Things like "Well, raise my rent!", with many variations that verge on the unprintable. :)
-
So today is my last whole day of "nothing". The next one will be Sunday, a week from tomorrow.
I do, of course, have things to do. I must sit down with the Cinderella book and review whatever needs to be done. I have a pile of debris from my cleanup on the hillside yesterday which must be deposited on the Big Pile of Debris in the place I designated for such years ago. I have at least one load of laundry to do.
-
Oh, here's some news, and even more plans for my day of "nothing".
Are you ready for it?
We're grilling hot dogs on the deck this afternoon.

I am home earlier than I expected because today's two Access-a-Rides and the taxi driver were spectacular.
First ride scheduled for 9:31 arrived at 9:11, and he waited 10 minutes while I finished getting ready; I reached my pharmacy by 9"30, picked up my prescriptions, and waited for my 10:15 Access-a-Ride, which arrived at 9:50. I was to the CVS for my 11:00 booster shot by 10:00.
The pharmacist boosted me around 10:15, and I had 15 minutes before I could leave. I stepped outside, got a wonderful taxi, and was home by 10:50.
-
I must hie me hence to the postal office before it closes for the day.
And will stop at 3rd Generation restaurant and get some lunch to go.

I plan to lie down, watch some TV, and get up around 2:45, when I feed the cats.

DR Jrand71, how far are you from Bloomington? Do you have a guest room?

Well, my friend Jack Viertel finished writing the propoasal for the recording project, which we will submit tomorrow, and it is spectacular. I am in awe of his writing skills. Asking him and Rob Berman to be my partners in this venture was the smartest thing I've done on this project.

I'm up, I'm up - two or three hours of sleep.

I've for decades been a fan of Jack's writing, as you know.
I thought "Time and Again" when it reached the Altman Carriage House workshop version was wonderful work.
I hope he and Skip will make the rights issue work.

DR ELMORE I am about an hour from Bloomington....when the roads and traffic are good.....I don't have a guest room.....but I have a bed in the medical room.

Singdaw, I did know about this...of course. ;D I really enjoy it, except for the song "Sand," which I don't love anyway, but her interpretation (and especially the music video ::) ) is a little off the mark...in my humble opinion.

From Bruce:
Dear reader Kevin H and his friends were at the show tonight - really fun to see him.
How very nice :)
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I slept 8 hours last night. Yay! I've been taking glycine, an amino acid, daily and it's helping me sleep. I really need the help!
-
And the word of the day is: CAOUTCHOUC!
Smoke on your pipe and put that in!
It's a good thing that isn't a 5-letter word as the Wordies would never guess it!
-
I enjoyed Vixmom's and Ron's Wordle comments the other day. "Adieu" is an excellent first word. So many vowels! Interesting, too, were Ron's observations about "u" and "y" words.
One mistake I make is to overlook letters I've used, forgetting they can be used twice.
I chalk up my Wordle time to exercising my aging brain, not just fooling around.
-
Good weekend vibes to all!
-
TTFN.
-
Cutting Fairy-Tale Life was a HUGE mistake. It's a great number that worked perfectly.

Fantastic. How long have you been taking it, and what dose do you take?

Well, folks, we've got
trouble rain and thunder right here in River the Twin Cities.
-
If only I'd known about this gown yesterday. I could have worn it for Earth Day.
-
We've got a dearth going on, y'all. A dearth, I tell you.
-
A dearth of postings.
-
We discovered a leak in the shower so Vixdad decided to regrout
-
Or a pearth of dostings.
-
Honestly, DR vixmom? What else could possible go wrong with your house or your vehicles?
-
Wait. Don't answer that.
-
I just saw a recipe online for a Peanut Butter Chocolate bundt cake.
-
While removing the old grout some of the tiles fell revealing that when they build this house, some 67 years ago, they failed to use waterproof Sheetrock and we do indeed have a much bigger problem than grouting
-
I think I should like to bake it and then eat it.
-
Aaaargh
-
The whole thing.
-
Wait. Don't answer that.
Too late
-
DR vixmom - I pray that this is not a case of black mold.
-
I shall now be on my way to the theater - not sure if I'll stay for the entire show - will depend on the audience.
-
:)
-
OK. A few more.
-
Just a few.
-
More.
-
Well, maybe more than a few.
-
FOUR!!!!
-
Goodnight, friends. And 5 Guests.
-
DR vixmom - I pray that this is not a case of black mold.
I pray your prayers are answered

We were always warned as tea-najers that there should be absolutely NO leaks in the shower.

I must hie me hence to the postal office before it closes for the day.
And will stop at 3rd Generation restaurant and get some lunch to go.
My gripe of the day is about 3rd Generation: They are supposed to open at noon on Saturdays. I was there 10 minutes early. While I was waiting, other cars arrived. At Noon, I checked the door and it was locked. I looked in a window and saw that very little food had been put out.
I told the others that it might be a wait, and I departed. I took my mail home, and then I drove to the County dump to get rid of some trash I had put in the back of my car.
I returned and went to 3rd Generation at 12:45 p.m. The people I had seen waiting were just leaving with their to-go parcels. When I got to the line, there was nothing in the way of fried chicken, which is what I had my mouth set for.
The lady informed me it would have to fried up, and it would take 20 minutes or longer. I commented that it's a shame they could not open on time and also have enough food to serve their first customers. I left.
I went to the Blue Collar Bistro. They had no fried chicken, either, but they did have fried pork chops. I got that and some rice and gravy and some black-eyed peas. It was all very delicious.
I think it's very, very odd to live in South Carolina where fried chicken is the most popular food item and that the main restaurants in this town cannot seem to have any cooked when they begin serving lunch.
-
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
And good night to all.
-
What?
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Where is everyone?
-
Had a long night of dancing.
-
Then watched another Nero Wolfe. I do enjoy this series.
-
I shall be sad when it ends in two episodes.
-
My phone battery died. I didn’t realize I hadn’t recharged it during the day.
-
I will have to recharge it completely in the morning.
-
But first, time for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Audience was small but not nearly as small as I was told, so that was good - but small and mighty and we got more laughs than ever and they ate up the show like a C.C. Brown's hot fudge sundae.
-
I've got some food on the way - just some Jack in the Box junk but I haven't eaten since nine this morning.
-
Congratulations, George, on your new achievement!
-
This must be my Irving Berlin weekend.
-
Last night I watched EASTER PARADE (I know, I know).
-
I really think that is the best performance of Judy’s from the flood of MGM Musicals in the 40’s.
-
She is a real character, not a caricature.
-
Tonight I watched the Broadway version of HOLIDAY INN.
-
I’ve watched it several times. I like almost all the cast in this production.
-
I haven’t figured out what Irving Berlin musical I will watch.
-
Possibly I’ll watch WHITE CHRISTMAS.
-
Or possibly his little-known musical version of BEN HUR!
-
Page five!
-
I don’t think I have a DVD of my production of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.
-
I will have to dig thru my DVDs to see what I might have available.
-
Today was a beautiful. Day.
-
Tomorrow is suppose to be the markets day of the year, so far.
-
Considering the last month or so, it won’t take much.
-
We may hit 70 degrees here in Puyallup, or, at least, give it the old college try.
-
I have paperwork to do tomorrow.
-
Mostly paying bills.
-
But I need to spend some time on my book.
-
I am trying to decide if I want to dump the whole thing and start over.
-
I zoomed thru today’s posts rather quickly, but did Jane post?
-
I zoomed thru today’s posts rather quickly, but did Jane post?
Whew! I did find that she posted.
-
I am listening to the FOLLIES revival.
-
Despite some dissenting opinions, I do enjoy this recording.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
It certainly is not the original, but I like all of the extras included.
-
Well, I am worn out. So, good night, folks!
-
Tonight, I ushered for the Derina Harvey Band (https://www.derinaharvey.com/home) from Canada and they were so good!
-
This video is from last year, but it's a song that they sang tonight:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trkBuctsQpE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trkBuctsQpE)
-
They're a Celtic Rock group and the audience of about 400 totally loved them!
-
I'd never heard of her or them, but I loved the concert...although it was a bit loud for me. ::)
-
I don't know if the fiddle player was the same woman as the woman who played tonight, but the others are the same.
-
The drummer in the back is Derina's husband.
-
Highly recommended by the likes of me! :D
-
Their first two CDs (I'd read that they're preparing a 3rd CD) are available through Amazon Streaming Music:

Tomorrow, I'm working concessions again for the Olympia Symphony Music Director Finalist Concert #3: Zoe Zeniodi (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/olympia-symphony-music-director-finalist-concert-3-zoe-zeniodi/).
-
I saw the concert for the first finalist, but not the second.
-
I don't know if I'll be able to see the fourth of the four finalists.
-
They had two women and two men...the first finalist was the other woman.
-
S I X ! ! ! ! ! !

My phone battery died. I didn’t realize I hadn’t recharged it during the day.
I will have to recharge it completely in the morning.
I plug mine in to charge overnight while I'm asleep. Are you not able to do that, or do you just prefer not to do that?
-
I have my skylight open to allow the air to circulate up and out of my bedroom.
-
It it quite comfortable. :)

I don't love it, but I do enjoy it, too.
