Good morning, all!
-
Another night of strange dreams while the trio section of "I Feel Pretty" (Have you met my good friend, Maria?) kept running through my head. I'm so happy the cats cannot read my mind, or I might have ended up with Thatch and Annabelle singing "Tonight" all night.
-
or the past two days I have tried to find my birth certificate. I suspect it's with my current passport. Where the hell are they?
-
The search will continue today.

Good morning to everyone.

I started watching the offer about making of the Godfather movie. I am not sure if I am going to watch the whole series. We’ll see how episode two goes.
-
Good morning, all.

Horrible night of sleeplessness. I couldn’t fall asleep, so I finished off the last eight or nine chapters of Edith Wharton’s The Marne, then read the first two chapters of her The Fruit of the Tree. I felt like I could have read all 14 novels in this Kindle collection.
-
And The Marne was second-rate Wharton. She wasn’t quite up to the task of writing a war novel. It was a little too underwhelming and pat.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Looks like we're back in the coolth and rain for a couple of days.
-
Well, I'm back at it tonight.
Now where did I put those glass slippers?

Does anyone ... still wear ... glass slippers?

Good morning, friends.

Speaking of dreams:
This morning I woke up and realized I have had a similar dream the past two nights. In each dream, I am trying to get something done but that I have left something important in my car. I leave to go find my car and it's way off in a distant parking lot. I wonder how I got into the store from way off there when I can barely walk 10 feet without being in pain.
Funny enough, when I began thinking about that I realized that I had very little pain. I had taken my first dose of prednisone yesterday with lunch, and this morning the pain is minimal...just some muscle ache in my left thigh, but the lower back pain is gone.
I am not going to jump up and down and shout hurrah right yet. Will continue to be cautious and complete my regimen of prednisone.
Could this be the miracle I needed?

I apparently set someone off on Facebook yesterday. It had to do with Beanie Feldstein's performance in "Funny Girl", but it wasn't about her. It was about someone who had really enjoyed it. Several replies later yielded a group of disparaging, insulting comments about the performance and queries as to how anyone could enjoy it.
The person to whom I responded asked why do people, who have already spouted off their disdain for things in other threads. always run to the first positive thread and start re-stating their dislike for a performance. (She said it was akin to being a bully and not allowing anyone to have a different opinion).
I commented that a lack of decency is inherent in many Facebook replies.
I know she agreed with me, but she said, "ONLY ON FACEBOOK?" and then ranted on a bit about it.
I bowed out, but it made the cartoon above seem relevant to me.

Well, I'm back at it tonight.
Now where did I put those glass slippers?
Is Ten Minutes Ago today’s earworm?

Eliza, where the devil are my glass slippers?

HA! Thanks everyone. I had a message from my oncologist in my MY CHART this morning....so I checked it, and it was just a questionnaire he wanted me to fill out about the visit.....
So....on we go.
-
My first rehearsal for CLUE:ONSTAGE is not until May 12 - so I have a few days off.
I would be learning my lines, but I don't have a script.
-
Last night my computer logged me out of EVERY WEBSITE I use......
-
And today Facebook won't let me reply to anything.....I can create a post, but not reply.
I didn't get a notice about being in Jail or anything, but maybe I am.

I was fooled by a posting about TONY nominations. But it was Time Out New York's list. I was scanning furiously for DR Jrand71's name.
-
Friday morning greetings! Another quiet day, except for picking up a grocery order this afternoon.
-
Quiet Fridays are sublime.
-
Fridays when I was working were "mixed" blessings. On the one hand, it was the last workday of the week and the weekend loomed. On the other hand, my boss would often call a meeting to discuss all the things we could look forward to the next week. Kind of hard to relax completely when you have a major workload to ponder.

DR JANE is was just a survey about did I listen to what the doctor said and follow his instructions for medication or other things he wanted me to do.
-
DE JEANNE I have not seen anything about May 14 - but of course it could be a way of checking signs and dates that I am not familiar with......I shall continue to look....because it could certainly be possible.
-
My brothers have killed me with their greed and stupidity over that property when we could have sold it in 2007. We will never sell it, and that means in two more months I need to cough up another $1000 on property tax. Today I got a bill from Northwell Health for $4,000+ for the cancer treatments (I hope that it;s for everything), not to mention the various bills for scans, X=rays, etc.
I sit here, no work, no prospects - I can't even sell the A&T book to a publisher - and think I'm better off dead.
-
DR George, I don't knoew if tonight's your opening or your car's arrival. Break a leg in either case.

DR JANE is was just a survey about did I listen to what the doctor said and follow his instructions for medication or other things he wanted me to do.
Interesting. It seems that should be a follow up phone call vs a survey. Since you said survey I am not imaging a way to ask questions if you are confused.

Welcome back to the present.

Bruce I hope you stick to your plan to stay off of other Facebook pages, though it seems to me that groups are your true downfall. Remember when we were taught if you can't say anything nice, then don't say it? That is a good rule for FB ;)
-
It also seems to me that saying some men are jerks is a supportive statement, and truly not something to put you in FB jail.
-
I am not sure what we will watch tonight, maybe an episode of The Expanse.
-
Last night we watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds :)
-
We stopped watched the new Picard series and are doubtful we will watch Discovery again.

We have high hopes for the more traditional series with Captain Pike.

Speaking of books made into series....

We finished watching SLOW HORSES, based on the first in the Slough House series. My brother loves this series and insisted I read it. While I enjoyed the first book I wasn't motivated to read the second book.

I am really looking forward to the second season.

Hi, Tom.

And here's what I see for my first entrance (of course, tonight, we'll have an audience):
Wow! This photo makes the theater look huge. How many seats?
-
Tonight's Mamma Mia! opening went quite well!
-
There was almost a full house.
-
I think I'd heard that there are 126 actual seats, but that they're making some seats not available so that there can be at least one seat in between groups for Covid reasons.
-
This week is the 30th anniversary of my giving up smoking.
This is terrific, John. Congratulations!
