Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a tonic, and now it is time for you to post until the tonic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NURTURANCE!
-
Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there in the dark - you know who you are.

A Very Happy Mother's Day to All the Mothers and Mothers-by-Proxy! :D
-
Today, the call time is 12:30, and I need to get some sleep because I never really get enough. ::)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR TCB - I always try to go to bed especially early on Saturday nights, because Sunday is always a work day, and I have to be out of the house no later than 7AM.
-
You can never go back to before!

~~CONTINUING MOST EXCELLENT VIBES & XYLOPHONES OF ALL SORTS~~~ for bk!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, all!

I had very strange dreams about the mafia and The Sopranos.
-
And, on a more serious note....
-
ast night I watched the La Scala production of Glazunov's ballet Raymonda, a late 19th century ballet set inFrance or Hungary during the Crusades. Raymonda is betrothed to Jean de Brienne but this wicked infidel falls in love with her. The dancing was nice, the story insipid, and the music - since I know little of Glazunov's compositions - was a revelation. It's one of the most glorious and colorful pieces of music I've ever heard, with wonderful writing for harp, piano, and celesta.
The ballet was long: 2 hrs and 34 minutes, but when it ended, I was so wired I couldn't sleep. I opened my laptop and looked up the score online to examine it. I finally got t5 bed after 11:30, two hours after I originally tunred off thew lights.

My general hellish existence continues, and I plan to spend much of it lying down, napping, and ignoring the harsher aspects of myexistence.
-
Good morning!
-
Thank you for the Mothers’ Day greetings, and Happy Mothers’ Day to all the other moms out there
-
I’m going over to my moms this afternoon to make a ham dinner
-
But first I must go to church where I am assigned to act as a communion server today
-
And deliver communion to two housebound families
-
And buy groceries for the dinner
-
I have the ham but I need accompanying foodstuffs
-
Oh, I should pick up a Mother’s Day card for my mom, hope there are some left
-
And since my mom is into practical gifts now I’ll get her some gift cards for Aldi
-
Sitting in my recliner sipping coffee
-
and I must go Wordle now now

Do the kids still say that?

Slept beautifully. No dreams I can recall (than goodness).

Cinderella has married her Prince and it’s time to turn the page.
I wonder what the next story will be!
-
It is currently overcast, but the forecast is for partly sunny, no rain to speak of and very mild temperatures. It's 58 degrees now. Expected high is 70 degrees and low expected tonight of 48 degrees. Humidity is 70%.
-
The surface of the pond is very still, and no geese in sight yet.

Cinderella has married her Prince and it’s time to turn the page.
I wonder what the next story will be!
A tale of a tower and a girl with long hair? Or a sleeping princess guarded by seven dwarfs?
-
Advice for all:
-
I needs must start getting ready for my 11:30 am lunch engagement with Butch and Sharon. That is in 2 1/2 hours.
A shower and clean clothes, plus a shave, will do the trick. But I move more slowly these days, so it may take a while.

Good morning, all.

It was too hot to sleep well.
-
This is a day of 100% rest for me.
Okay, probably more like 99%. But I’ll take it.
-
I dreamt about teaching a line dance, influenced by watching a video of the same shortly before sleep.
-
There's a march in Raymonda that makes use of a melody that I knew. I 've been racking my berain over it, and, after digging aroundf my iTunes, it's the Big Tune from Franz Liszt's Hungarian Fantasie for piano and orchestra. It's a Hungariamn folksong, "Mohac's Field."
-
Good sleuthing, Elmore.
-
Time to get ready for a dance lesson.

Hello and Happy Mother's Day! There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on the site that is well worth a listen...Mark Eden Horowitz of the Library of Congress joins me to chat about the forthcoming book The Letters of Oscar Hammerstein II. It's a great conversation and very enlightening about one of the great figures of Broadway history!
-
Happy Mother's Day!

Closing performance vibes for MR BK & Co. Yesterday's show sounds wonderful.....hope you get a repeat!

Good morning.

Show vibes for DR GEORGE.

Glad to hear the DR CHAS SMITH survived.
We're there any more objects hurled your way during the run?

From yesterday's TOD:
I generally forget the bad shows. I don't waste memory space on them. But two I can remember are:
Little House on the Prairie
Don't remember the name, but it was a Shakespeare story with Elvis songs and motorcycles

Someone will know it.

From Ron:
I watched all 8 episodes of season 1 of "Outer Range" on Amazon Prime. It stars Josh Brolin and Lili Taylor and Will Patton and a bunch of other pretty darned good actors.
It's a strange tale which I enjoyed. A little too much singing by a couple of characters, one of whom seems to be auditioning for The Voice (to himself, that is).
Odd, with background music that is just a tad much for my taste but it does not detract from my fascination with where the story is going.
Hmmm, maybe we stopped watching too soon. It just got so sad and dark.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there in the dark - you know who you are.

We had a nice family video chat.

DR Laura, you are wise to declutter your brain of bad musicals. If I did that, my brain would be empty.

Fried chicken post 101!

One of the things I've loved in The Forsyte Saga is how they use music to suggest the passage of time. It changes along with the fashion. In the early episodes, it's Chopin and Schumann. In this last episode, it's jazz music and Copeland.

I saw my friend and her cousin in the audience today! They're in the front row on the audience left (right side, as seen from the stage).

Hello, everyone.
-
Happy Mother's Day to all our HHW mothers.
-
Thank you DR Jeanne.
-
How are those eye drops working for you?
-
Jane, your long-awaited report on the Refresh Relieva eye drops:
The drops definitely help my dry eyes, more so even than some of the other brands I've been taking, such as Thera Tears singles. No irritation at all, not even in my wonky right eye that suffered the alcohol spray last year. The only problem I had was with the bottle itself. There's an instruction sheet in the box, which should be read, as it explains how to open the bottle and then prime it. It's not a big deal once you know how, but the first time requires some explanation. I suggest you give Relieva a try. I haven't tried the gel drops yet, but will post once I do. I'm using up some of my older drops and will switch to Relieva, but keep Bausch & Lomb Soothe and Similisan. I alternate so I don't get too much of any one.
-
Hoping that Bruce's final show is really great!
-
TTFN.
-
Thank Jeanne.
-
At night I prefer using Similisan. During the day I mostly use Refresh Plus Lubricant drops (Carboxymethylcellulose). I can't really tell the difference the preservative free Plus drops from the Refresh Tears I switched from.
-
I am curious if you will be able to tell the difference between the Relieva and the gel drops.

Ushering for the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio.

They’re performing Scherezade with the Youth Ballet, plus Barber’s Violin Concerto and a piece by a Ukrainian composer, Skoryk.

I just refreshed my memory on the plot of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.
-
Having read the similar story, The Giver of Stars, I wanted to be sure I wasn't confusing any of the characters in the two novels.
-
I needed to do this as I have checked out The Book Woman's Daughter from my library.

Good night, all.

Well, we went out with a great performance for a great, two-thirds-full audience. And so, this chapter is done for LA Now and Then and, for the most part, it really was a stellar run doing mostly half-houses (which is good for small theater at this time, with people still afraid to leave their homes thanks to yet more fear-mongering recently), with all appreciative audiences. Many laughs, much cheering today, which was, again, a tonic. After the show, about seven of us went to the Coral Cafe for some food and it was so much fun and I only wish we'd done that more often. After that, I came right home and am feeling the usual end-of-show let down on top of all the other stress that's been going on.

I liked (and like) Plaza Jalisco. I don't think there's another one in the area.

In Lacey, right off the freeway at the Hawks Prairie exit, on the right side as you head south, there's a Mayan Restaurant (https://www.mayanmexican.com/marvin-rd/). Have you ever been there?

The opposite side. Take the exit and turn right onto Marvin Road, and it's pretty much right there.

I updated my post to add a link to Mayan's website, but your quote didn't pick it up. Here it is:
