Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written to the accompaniment of pretty music, and now it is time for you to post until the pretty cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUMPTUOUS!
-
I almost got to post this last night, but I was able to copy it, so here it is:
At least these gas prices will give me an added incentive for not doing any more theater.
That definitely is a consideration. I was thinking about auditioning down in Centralia again (they're doing White Christmas), but I haven't decided, yet.
Oh wow! That would be fun for you. Is Richard directing?
I haven't heard who is, but it won't be Rich. He and Kris are moving to Mexico for three years! He got a teaching job down there.
-
good morning to all.

TOD
Probably Batman or Superman
-
Good morning, friends.
-
TOD: superheroes have never captured my fancy, sad to say. I know that today's film industry considers them indIspensable.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I just spilled half a cup of coffee all over my telephone and computer table. If this is a portent for today, well, shit.
-
Another lousy night of sleep. I am not happy.
-
I think Joshie is coming by today with some more work for me. It will be nice to see him.

I was never a superhero fan although I did watch Batman on TV in the 1960’s
It was on two nights in a row and the first night always ended with a freeze frame cliff hanger with the narrator intoning some version of “will our heros get out of this mess… join us next time, same bat time, same bat channel”
-
Good morning, all.
-
Spider-Man was the first. I got a lot of Marvel comic books from kids down the street. I saved them fairly well, but they got destroyed in the intervening years.
-
Got Wordle in five.
-
Must make the drive into work today.

TOD
Captain Marvel, sometime around 1954.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD
Superman, sometime around 1962. I was late to the game, even then, but quickly found that I loved that family of characters and comics. I dabbled in Batman for a bit, but the Superman universe was mine. Sadly, that pile of comic books eventually vanished.
In my adult life I much enjoyed the initial round of Superman and Batman films, but I haven't the energy or interest to explore any of the later ones, and I never had an interest in any superheroes beyond those two.

So here I am with a few days off from the show before we begin another Thursday thru Sunday run.

I am piggy for watermelon.

The original music director of Disaster!, Steve Marzullo, attended yesterday's matinee. He had done some things at this theeder in his Before Years.
We treated him royally. He got to see a last-minute stand-in for the brilliant young man who plays the Ben/Lisa twins due to an emergency appendectomy. The substitute pulled it off incredibly well while not quite getting a few lines out just right which greatly lessened the impact of the jokes. We also presented him with a rare early miscue from our own MD, a huge earthquake sound effect that didn't happen, and a few other cherce opening weekend matinee moments. But he spoke with the cast and crew afterward and everyone had a happy time of it. Onward...
Edit: Looks like he was the original MD for Once on This Island, too.
-
That sounds exciting DR CHAS SMITH! Live theeder!
-
I also started reading Superman comic books in 1960 or 1961....and remember when they went to 12 cents from 10 cents.
I especially liked the stories set on Krypton.....the whole mythology of the character has changed - his son or grandson or someone has taken over and there's a bunch of other folks I know nothing about...so I lost interest many years ago....
I like the Captain America and Deadpool and Iron Man films just because I like the actors who play them. I don't see them in the movie house, but I watch them on TV sometimes.

Two!
-
Talked with Mom. She didn’t get home until 12:30 this morning. She’s tired. But she’s relieved to be out of the hospital.
-
From Bruce:
I can't remember - did dear Jane get a copy of my latest book? I can't seem to get it on Barnes and Noble - they've made something very difficult and I can't figure it out - Amazon is, of course, easy. But I know she can read Kindle.
I had mentioned to you that I can't read on my Kindle right now as it is too bright and hurts my eyes. Now I have to figure out how to purchase books using Kindle since I can no longer do it on my tablet using the app. Since I am more familiar with Barnes & Noble I started with them. Hopefully it is a similar process to set up Kindle.
-
From TCB:
I am not much of a Gregory Peck fan, but I mat try to find it.
Then read the book.
-
Celeste Holm won her Oscar for that movie, right?

I can't believe they released her so late.
-
Celeste Holm won her Oscar for that movie, right?
An eviul woman, one of the worst.
-
Good morning.
-
We got our travel driver licenses today. And a new license plate for the car, because the original has become so worn it's almost illegible. That has never happened before.
-
The story on John Kander didn’t say if someone were going to release the recording of that musical, did it? Maybe Kritzerland could do that.
-
Leonard is not at his usual post at the window. He likes to hide and sleep. He'll show up.
-
I'm house checking for a friend. She has an herb garden, and I'm free to harvest. My house smells good with the tomato sauce cooking.

I had no idea they even released people that late. CONTINUED HEALING VIBES!

Yes, a well deserved win.

Wow, how long have you had the worn out license plate?
In Washington we had to get an enhanced driver's license which cost more. Did you need to pay extra for your travel license?

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.

Loved the Kander article!!

Your license plate has worn out.....I've never heard that.....but it sounds most energetic and useful

Good news about the mother of DR JOHN G.
-
Thank you for all the vibes and prayers for Mom. In case I have to fly to Louisville quickly, I have been told the closest airport in Wyoming is actually in Denver.
-
Glad the work day has come to an end.
-
So, Singdaw, what did you think of Sanditon season 2?
-
Thank you for all the vibes and prayers for Mom. In case I have to fly to Louisville quickly, I have been told the closest airport in Wyoming is actually in Denver.
How far away is that?
Vibes you do not need to make an emergency trip!
-
It is good though that you are looking at your options now.
-
Bruce, since B&N is not an option I ordered the book from Amazon. It quickly dropped into my app on my tablet.
-
I have no idea when I will actually read 'Tis the Season to Be Murdered. Aside from my eyes, I usually save holiday books to read during the holiday season. I just might do that with this one. It gives me something to look forward to since we no longer celebrate Christmas.

Sudsy melodrama! Loved it.

"Just cleaned out some space in the freezer" sounds so much more productive than "just polished off another pint of ice cream."

DR Jane - just curious; doesn't the Kindle allow you to adjust the screen brightness?
-
I also am annoyed that you can no longer purchase books directly from the app, but you still can from a computer's web browser.
-
DR Jane - just curious; doesn't the Kindle allow you to adjust the screen brightness?
Is does but reading at night it is too bright. I am pretty sure an actual Kindle will dim better than my app does. Both Overdrive and Nook go lower.
-
I also am annoyed that you can no longer purchase books directly from the app, but you still can from a computer's web browser.
Is that using your Kindle or a Kindle app on another devise?
-
If I am home and can use my computer to buy books it won't be a big deal, now that I have everything set up with my apps.
-
When traveling, I won't want to deal with using the website on my tablet to buy a book. Fortunately Overdrive has become easier to use since it began and I have more then enough reading options.
-
Good evening.
-
Glad to hear John's mom is home. I hope she stays well.
-
I got a temporary plate for the car. I hope the real license number is different than the paper one. I think it's an awful license plate number.
-
With Google wanting 15% cut of all the digital books sold from the apps I understand why B&N & Kindle made the decision to change.
-

Vibes for DR JohnG's mother!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My niece's high school graduation was on Friday. It was streamed on the school's youtube channel which is how I thought that I would have to watch it. They were only allowed 3 tickets per student. But on Friday my niece was able to get an extra ticket.
I'm so glad that I was able to go as she was the Salutatorian. And also surprisingly won the last award (student of the year). She was so shocked as it's 250 graduating students. But it was such a beautiful surprise.

Yes, I have books on both of my apps to eventually read.

Jennifer do I remember correctly that you have the Kindle Paperwhite 10? My brother's did a software update and has had a problem with all of his unread books not showing up.

That is wonderful you were able to go. Congratulations on her award plus being the Salutatorian.
-
Three tickets is an odd number. Did your father go or her sister?
-
I got a temporary plate for the car. I hope the real license number is different than the paper one. I think it's an awful license plate number.
Why did they change the number instead of just issuing you a new plate? That seems odd to me.
-
They are sending me a new plate. I'm assuming the paper one has the number that I'll have. But I'm hoping not.
-
I hope you are right. I like numbers I can remember.

Yes, DR Jane - my Kindle dims down to a very low light level.
-
We are enjoying season two of Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy.

Oh, looky - PAGE FOUR!

DR Jennifer - congratulations on your niece's accomplishment! Glad you were able to be there in person.

Yikes! I have the opposite problem. I bought a refurbished Kindle Oasis and EVERY book I ever checked out from OverDrive shows up on it.
-
Fortunately, they're not downloaded, but they all show up in my list of titles, even though I can't download any of them because they would need to be checked out through OverDrive again. :P
-
Best wishes for John G.'s mom!

Loved the Kander story.

Bruce: I have one relative (by marriage) who tries to bring me into every situation she creates. Usually, she says I told her something.
I. Tell. Her. NOTHING. Evah!

I need to go to bed.

Very nice pictures, John...but they sure are tiny. ::)
;)

Well, tonight took a turn - not really surprising since I knew about it kinda sorta. I'll just leave it at I'm through with the Group Rep and Applause won't be done. I don't want or need to be around the handful of negative nellies there (and it is just a handful) and it was beginning to seem like high school to me. I'm proud of what I did there - really proud - and the people who were in my shows who were members, know I got them to be as good as they could, which is all it's ever about for me. And that's that.

What is going on around here?

I was really getting used to these page sixes and sevens.

If George and I ever go off to see a show in Seattle some night, you might end the day on page three!

I am at a loss for
weirds words.

Now George is also gone?

Congratulations to Jennifer’s niece. I feel like she really has grown up on HHW.

Continued vibes and prayers to John’s mother.

I have been watching (binging) some of these syndicated series, like DISASTERS AT SEA and DEEPSEA MYSTERIES.

It's always too bad that things like that happen. :P
-
Bruce would totally HATE this DEEPSEA MYSTERIES.
-
Some of the stories are really interesting, but the sound editing is terrible.
-
The shows start with music, but suddenly you realize someone is talking at the same time.
-
The shows start with music, but suddenly you realize someone is talking at the same time.
I hate it when that happens!
-
By the time you crank up the volume loud enough to hear the narration, the music is way too loud.
-
By the time you crank up the volume loud enough to hear the narration, the music is still too loud.
That's VERY bad editing! >:(
-
And so it goes thru the entire show. As the host narrates the series, all of the background music or the sound effects like the plunging into the sea, or the sound of the speedboat are all far louder than the host.
-
Today after work, I went to Panda Express for dinner.
-
You might think that was just a mistake on one episode, but NO, the entire series is that way.
-
I usually get Kung Pao Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken, but I was told that they have discontinued the Black Pepper Chicken...again. :(
-
You might think that was just a mistake on one episode, but NO, the entire series is that way.
That is NOT good!
-
I think it is a Canadian series.
-
Panda first discontinued the Black Pepper Chicken when things shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, but they brought it back a few months ago.
-
And then today...no more Black Pepper Chicken.
-
So, I got the Kung Pao Chicken and their Orange Chicken.
-
Both were fairly fresh, so that was good. :)
-
And the chow mein was pretty good, as usual.
-
I keep telling myself that I like Panda Express, but every time I order from there, I swear I will never eat there again.
-
The servers said that I should fill out the comment section and let corporate know that I'm a fan of the Black Pepper Chicken, so I shall!
-
I keep telling myself that I like Panda Express, but every time I order from there, I swear I will never eat there again.
It's not always consistent, but it's more hit than miss, so I keep going back.
-
AND I usually (but not always) fill out the FREE ENTREE ITEM survey that's on every receipt, so I sometimes get a free item. :)
-
That can add up to quite a bit of savings.
-
They also have the largest large soda of any quick service restaurant, so that's definitely a plus! ;D
-
Well...
-
...let's not wait...

PAGE SIX DANCE!!
