Well, you've read the notes, the notes were at 33%, and now it is time for you to post until the 33% cows come home.

So last night after work, I was supposed to usher for the South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Band. When I got here, the other ushers were already there. However, NOBODY ELSE WAS! There were NO performers, which meant no performance, no nothing!

When the house manager showed up, he said that he got a notice that he was working that night, but when he checked the actual schedule, no event was actually scheduled! He wasn't able to get a hold of anyone so he said we could leave...which, of course, we did. I've never heard of that happening. :-\

So, I went to my friend Margo's and showed her my car. We drive around a bit, and then drove through Arby's so that she could try one of their new (but temporary) hamburgers. I had one last week (I think) and it was pretty good. BUT, they weren't able to sell several items, including the burgers, because (we were told) an employee earlier in the day didn't take some of the food out of the freezer, so they couldn't defrost them to be able to cook and sell them. So Margo will have to go another time. She lives less than a mile from that Arby's.

What a night...no jazz concert and no Arby's burgers. :P

Well my car didn't make it to rehearsal last night......my AD came and picked me up after the PT overheated.
I left it in a parking lot on the highway with a note.....I called for two service this morning and the text says the truck is on its way.
The garage where it is being towed opens at 7:30 - about 25 minutes from now, so I will drive over and let them know it's coming. The two truck text said at 6:45 a.m. arriving in 90-120 minutes.
So much for a nice Friday off.

Someone last night at rehearsal demanded to know why I didn't put her name on two rehearsal dates that she had definitely put on her audition sheet were conflicts.
I let her rave awhile and then told her to look at what was being rehearsed that night - she isn't called, she is NOT in the songs and scenes being rehearsed those two nights.

Last night’s show was a really odd one in which a whole slew of things went wrong. Fortunately, nothing from yrs truly. But even the MD had a couple of lapses. Mostly it was a major sound effect not happening (same one as before) and then several people going up on lines which makes absolutely no sense. There wasn’t even a VIP in the house to honor with these little tributes!
Tonight, our one sub for this run — the drummer. He’s an excellent one, but he’s never played this show and I know it will be an interesting evening. After tonight, only one more.

He calmly told them, “I bought it today.”
“With what money?” Demanded his parents. “We know how much a Porsche costs!”
“Well,” said the boy, “this one cost me fifteen dollars.”
The parents began to yell even louder. “Who would sell a car like this for fifteen dollars!?” They asked.
“It was the lady up the street,” said the boy, “don’t know her name— they just moved in. She saw me ride past on my bike and asked me if I wanted to buy a Porsche for fifteen dollars.”
“Oh my goodness!” Gasped the mother, “she must be luring children! Who knows what she will do next? John, you go right up there and see what’s going on.”
So the boy’s father walked up the street to the house where the lady lived and found her out in her yard calmly planting flowers.
He introduced himself as the father of the boy she sold the Porsche to for fifteen dollars and demanded to know why.
"Well,” she said, “this morning I got a phone call from my husband. I thought he was on a business trip, but I learned from a friend he has run off to Hawaii with his secretary and really doesn’t intend to come back.
He claimed he was really stranded and asked me to sell his new Porsche and send him the money . . . So I did.”

Good score for a dear reader - the long OOP print soundtrack of Two for the Seesaw - that took us to 34%! I have probably played Two for the Seesaw more than any other CD.
Also, if you weren't here when Mulholland Falls came out, grab it - one of the great film noir scores, right up there with Chinatown.

I tried a new jernt today - an Eyetalian deli in Encino - rave reviews - I've thought about trying it for ages. I ordered two sandwiches, one for lunch, one for later. The first of them, salami, was fantastic - so fresh. The other has salami and other Eyetalian meats and also looks good. I'll eat it around eight.

Well, the nearly unbelievable happened this afternoon:
UPS dropped off a package. It was the replacement dehumidifier which had been put in the mail on June 16.
You could have knocked me over.
At first, I thought it must be the original that UPS had thought was lost, but I matched the UPS tracking numbers of the original with this one. and they were different.
I let the company know it arrived today just in case this WAS the original.

I have the dehumidifier all unpacked and ready to go. The instructions are very clear that I should let it sit upright, undisturbed, for 24 hours after unpacking, so that is what I am doing.
I hope this makes a huge difference for me. I have been using a unit my mom bought 20 years ago. It does the job, but it's very noisy.
The new one is far more powerful than that one, so life may improve chez moi!
