Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the need for speed, and now it is time for you to post until the speedy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BORBORYGMI!
-
Happy Day After July 4th, everyone!
Now all of the poor, terrified animals are safe to come out of their temporary hiding places.
-
Larry, I am very distressed at hearing your property news.
Sending strong vibes that the deal is just in limbo, and that the sale will go through as planned. It’s all quite maddening.
-
El Mitote has very good Mexican food…great guacamole. Sounds like you enjoyed your meal.
I often eat at Santa Fe on W.71st. That’s my favorite in the area, although both restaurants are only 4 blocks from where I stay. Rosa Mexicano at Lincoln Center is also dangerously close. Too much good food, and excellent margaritas. Their prices are on the high side though, compared with the others.
-
DR Vixmom, I hope you feel better.
Your sore throat sounds quite painful.
I like your new avatar…so pretty.
-
Hope Jane is feeling better today, and will stop by.
We all miss you whenever you take a break.
-
Several new perky perks are up - I won't announce these until I'm up tomorrow, so check 'em out in case there's something that catches your eyeballs.
-
And remember, if something appeals to you but is too pricey, just PM me and tell me what's comfortable for you.
-
Jeanne, thanks for telling me about Dr. Miller. I checked out his website, and he offers just what I need.
I took some classes and studied with Jon Kabat-Zinn, and also liked him very much.
-
Bruce, hope you get lots of action today!
-
Will be back later.
Have a lovely day, everyone.
-
Good morning, all!
-
As you might expect, I slept quite poorly last night. I was in bed by 9:30 and lay awake until 11:43. I did fall asleep because the next time I checked the clock, it was 1:15 or so. I then slept for around three hours, and then lay awake fretting for some time. I* forgot rto set the alarm last night, because it did not ring at 5:45. When I decided it was getting later than usual and checked the clock, it was 6:09.

I'm going to call our realtor in a bit to learn what I can about this mess. This whole City of Middletown situation has me really upset, and I am extremely puzzled since the damned authorities had a month between the offer and the original closing on June 27.
-
I'm beginning to wonder if the City of Middletown is simply hoping if they keep restricting sales of the property that we will abandon it or settle for a ridiculously low price.
-
DR vixmom, feel better soon.
Dear Lurker Iris, the only thing missing from dinner last night was a good margarita!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~FEEL BETTER PRONTO VIBES~~~ for DR vixmom!!!
-
Today it's back to work.
-
This morning's news brings more incidents of mass gun violence and of people throwing fireworks from cars directly at buildings and pedestrians.
-
I can't even.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Prayers for MR BK and vibes for $$$.
-
I like Mr Dennis Hopper in just about everything....I shall have to consider Sandra Bullock.
I think the movie she made with Melissa McCarthy.....HEAT, I think....is pretty darn funny.
~~~A LITTLE MIRACLE OR TWO VIBES~~~ for bk!!!!!!

It is very foggy here.
-
Foggy, not froggy.
-
TWO.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR Elmore’s news is extremely distressing.
So what type of use does the city WANT and WILL APPROVE for that property? In the case of commercial properties, wouldn’t such information be useful for targeting appropriate buyers? Seems like high time for a face to face meeting with the zoning department or whatever/whoever is in charge.
-
It's impossible to even summon words for the shootings and the attitudes surrounding those and so much else in the country.
-
Vibes for Vixmom!
-
Just getting into work.
-
Have to change my work password. I hate that.
-
I always forget it in an hour or two.

Douglas Stuart wrote the wonderful Shuggie Bain. He’s got a new book out called Young Mungo. It’s a difficult read. I’m not sure if the really depressing parts are worth it. I’m more than halfway through, so I will likely finish, but it’s sad. And all too realistic.

Tuesday morning greetings! Last day of grandparenting for us…
-
It's impossible to even summon words for the shootings and the attitudes surrounding those and so much else in the country.
Yesterday’s news from one Chicago suburb broke while Rob, Charlotte, and the other grandparents were attending a parade in another Chicago suburb. I was very glad when they came home safe.

DR Elmore, I hope you get some satisfactory answers. Middletown city government is a mess at the moment.

I love "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. Wonderful cast!

I do, too!

DR elmore3003: just tell the realtor this: "Baby llama don't want no drama."
-
Well, I am now informed. I just spoke to our realtor,
The buyers want the property and they are willing up to a point to accept the city's stipulations, which are a retaining wall and a retaining pond to deal with the ecology and the creek at the back of the mutual properties.
The drawback: the costs and how much of our land will be eaten away in this construction. If it eats away an acre of our three and costs them $60-80,000, they can't take it.
In short, we will know nothing more for at least two weeks when our buyers and the city have a meeting. And so, I have two weeks to dig myself further into debt, at which time we may lose the sale.

No orders, no Indiegogo action - cheerleading has begun!

Good luck, BK. Nice new perks.

In Young Mungo, Annie somehow comes up in conversation. The poor young Glaswegian is not impressed.

News item flashed across my screen: "Trump Troubles Open Path for Senate GOP White House Hopefuls."
Pictured are Cruz, Cotton, and Hawley. And DeSantis waiting in the wings. We are doomed.

Facebook is being the worst I've ever seen. They are really working overtime to make sure as few people as possible see the posts, whether on my own page or in groups. They HATE that I'm not boosting ads anymore - I did and for a seven-day ad for $35 they guarantee you that between 500 and 1000 people PER DAY will see it. When the final report came in, they said a total of 546 people had seen it in seven days. Pretty sure what they promise and what they deliver is actionable.
-
It's so frustrating.
-
Normally, when I post these updates, we get at least a person or two right away to come in. This petrifies me when we're going into our final week and can't get past 72%, which it's been since Saturday. We're still over 5K away from the goal and we don't get the goal even if we get there unless we cover the fees. And frankly, I'm running out of stuff to put up - I cannot do better than what's there. That's not to say that the first two weeks and some of the third were amazing, because they were - but they were because people were seeing the posts regularly.
-
I ask in total ignorance of how these things work:
When we do see your posts, does it help at all to immediately 'like' them? Does that do anything to bump them up into greater visibility? How about leaving a comment?
Edit: Just got the "Night Music" CD post in my feed. Liked and commented, for what it's worth.
-

Yes, leaving comments really helps fight it, because when a post is engaged they tend to think others need to see it. The Night Music CD went so fast I couldn't even believe it. Probably could have charged more - so, two items so far today, but even though it's over a hundred bucks, still didn't change the percentage. But at least we're inching closer to 15K.
-
Liking helps, too. If you're not following me, you should be. Also, if you're not, visit my page and like and comment.
-
Definitely a follower, but I do find I'm seeing some of these posts a few days after the fact, and that there seem to be fewer reactions and comments than is normal.
-
73%.
I figured out the percentage thing.
They don't round up. 73% of 20K is 14,600, so it didn't change from 72% to 73% until that number was reached. 74% is 14,800 and I say that's when it will change again ... or by God my name isn't Criswell.
-
73%! Close to 74.
-
I must have been a good boy today. I just treated myself to two scoops of ice cream: piñon or pinenut and cafe con leche.

Starting a documentary on Bix Beiderbecke.

Oh, my! I didn't know that either. :-\

Hoagy Carmichael is one of the talking heads in this documentary. He’s wonderful.

Elmore. I keep forgetting to ask you: Can you recommend a good bio of Ravel?

I think the kitties have adopted you. 😻

Jane, sending you healing vibes for your shoulder.
I hope that you’re able to get a good night’s sleep.

I’ve been away from HWW for some time, so I wanted to know, is this a rotator cuff injury?
-
Will wait for an update, and very much hope that your shoulder feels better today.
-
Bruce, have you ever tried Amy’s Frozen Pizza?
It’s very good, and nice to keep in your freezer when food delivery is unreliable.
Very easy to bake in an oven in 15 minutes.
Good quality.

Good night, all.
Sweet dreams.

He is really very good in the role.

I saw it on Broadway with Jim Dale and Glenn Close.

No, I went down the rabbit hole of Instagram vids. ::)

They never end!

They're very short, and you just scroll from one to the next and like the Energizer bunny, it just keeps on going and going and going and going ad infinitum and ad nauseam! ;D
