Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 81% and in the home stretch, and now it is time for you to post until the 81% stretching cows come home.

And the word of the day is: GANACHE!

The post office as been oddly reticent about the whereabouts of my wandering package since 11:35 yesterday morning
-
Sooo
-
Vixdad discovered the narrow bookcase he wanted was in stock at our local IKEA
-
(Which we’ve previously established to be both physically and ideologically located on Long Island)
-
Concerned that we’d arrive only to discover it was sold out once again he purchased it online for “in store pick up”
-
It was a day off, ( I forget why now, perhaps it was a holiday ?)
-
So we thought we’d head right down
-
But it turned out that the in store pickup option required you to choose a time frame from a series of options they proposed
-
And the earliest available time was several hours hence
-
So we bided our time, until such time as we were advised said bookcase would be ready for pick up
-
The purchase, not surprisingly, required payment in full to be completed
-
Such payment was made, a online receipt was generated and displayed as well as emailed to Vixdad’s email account, along with a notification as to the time the merchandise would be ready
-
And a warning that if we delayed beyond 2 hours from the chosen pickup time that the merchandise would be returned to stock and the sale cancelled
-
Presumably with a credit back to the card used for purchase
-
I have to bring my car to the mechanics now
-
The car is not responding to the remote unless I’m standing right on top of it
-
Despite replacing batteries in both remotes
-
Vixdad thinks the receiver in the car isn’t properly plugged in
-
Since the last service when some air conditioning hoses had to be replaced
-
This is a new story, I’ve left the IKEA story in case you’re confused
-
But now I’m leaving , full stop
-
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Good morning, all!

It wasn't a bad night of sleep. Annabelle and Thatch stayed with me most of the night. Stella stopped by, but I think she's happier in this warm weather sleeping alone in the bathtub.
-
Page 2 Dance!

My next three days are crazy, mostly with apartment work, Today I really need to tackle the bathroom after kitty cleanup. I've got to wash the litter mat, vacuum and mop the floor. It won't be easy and it;'s my fault for letting it go so long. The bathroom is tiny and it isn't helped all all the additional paraphernalia to keep me safe from falls. Also, it'ds hotter than hell in there and guaranteed to put me in a bad mood.
-
Tomorrow I lose a good deal of the day with Access-a-Ride and an appointment to have my eyes checked for a new glasses prescription. I so hope this property sale goes through because my last pair from 2019 or so cost over $700.
-
Ann and Jen are bringing me this TV belonging to Ann's parents on Sunday, so between tomorrow and Saturday, I need to clean off my work table and clean and dust my old TV, DVD player and cable box. Then I need to remove all the miniature scores from the shelving the TV sits on, put the scores into a storage carton, and dust and clean the shelving. This will be agony for all of my joints.
-
On the positive side, I received an email from Indiana University yesterday containing forms pertaining to bank wire trasfers, social security numbers, and other personal information to get me into the IU system. Then, they tell me, I will get a contract.

I'd like my personal bunny lookalike now, please.

Sinatra and Nelson Riddle are an unbeatable combination. All of those "concept" albums are just superb.

TOD:
Love and Marriage
I think that was the first time I heard a Sinatra song and recognized who he was. He was singing it on television and it was just so catchy - I was probably 5 or six years old.

Run through was okay.....tonight we open....in Venice. We next play Verona....then on to Cremona....lots of laughs in Cremona!
And it turns out that the director wants me to do the curtain speech with her.....so that means ANOTHER wardrobe change....
-
If anyone is up to that task, DR Jrand71, it's you!
-
Good morning, all.

Another op’ning, another show vibes for JRand!
-
I slept well. But I’ve woken up with some sinus irritation. Hope it goes away soon.
-
TOD:
I am mostly in DR Ron Pulliam’s boat when it comes to Sinatra. I especially loathe his version of Theme from New York, New York. The way he butchers the lyrics and can’t handle the key change is worse than fingernails on a chalk board. That said, I do like these:
Mind If I Make Love to You
You’re Sensational
Fly Me to the Moon
Come Fly with Me
-
If anyone is up to that task, DR Jrand71, it's you!
Absolutely!
Break a leg tonight, DR Jrand71!

I was never a big Sinatra fan. I liked him in the films Come Blow Your Horn and Can-Can, and I happen to like serveral of the songs he recorded.
Not long before he died, I was a a performance of a Twyla Tharp ballet using nothing but recorded Sinatra songs. Just as the houselights went down, he entered surrounded and supported by 4-6 men in suits. They left just before the end of the ballet.
-
It's time to make ther bed and then tackle the bathroom.
-
I have never liked Sinatra: the Persona, but I do respect his musical talent.
-
I can see a new page a-coming.
-
Oh yes, it's on the horizon.
-
It's in the tea leaves.
-
THREE.
-
Now what?
-
Good morning, all.
-
At least three crazy dreams through the night. No, I believe there had to be four distinct ones. But only two are still in my memory as of right now. The one about McDonald's was by far the most bizarre.
-
I did see Sinatra in concert. It was the opening of a new arena in Albany, NY, and I managed to get two press tickets. Frank Jr. conducted the orchestra. Corbett Monica (sp?) was the opening comedian. Sinatra was off key much of his performance, but it wasn’t really about that. He still had charisma, and people loved him. I’m glad I have the memories. But he was no Ella in concert.
-
What about McDonald’s, ChasSmith?
-
Good morning to everyone I hope you have a great day
-
Boris Johnson has resigned. Good riddance.
-
You, too, DR Michael.
-
I am particularly fond of the tracks he recorded when he was a big band singer
-

What about McDonald’s, ChasSmith?
The series of events would run only three minutes or so in real time, but an attempt to describe them in the dream would require many paragraphs of references. I couldn't do it justice.

-
My supervisor, who was in the office with me yesterday, has tested positive for covid. I’m now taking my second test this week.
I did have several meetings with her up close and personal.
-
An early Sinatra memory, music-wise, was hearing him sing "It Was a Very Good Year" on afternoon TV, probably the Merv Griffin show which we really liked, and I was very taken with that song because of the arrangement and scoring. Other than that, I came to appreciate his musical work much later in life. I love the Capitol Records era and some of the Reprise.
At that time I had already enjoyed a couple of his films, notably Robin and the 7 Hoods, and I got to know and appreciate many more of them through the years.

I never quite got to the point of actually eating anything, but fries were definitely in the picture.

I finished cleaning the bathroom - at least the portion around the litter box - and the cats and litter box are in trhe hall until the floor dries. When that's accomplished, I will go back in, put everything back in place, and clean the bathtub. I figure that will be around noon.
-
Stella's curiosity about the noises in the bathroom has her in a frezy to get inside.
-
Thursday morning greetings! I crashed last night and slept until the lawn mowers next door started up at 8am. It was good to be back in my own bed.

James Caan passed away last night :(

Continuing negativity vibes for DR John G!

The roofing people are taking down thescaffolding - I think - because there's a lot of pounding and crashing going on. Annabelle and Thjatch are in hiding and Stella cuddled up with me. The noise is unbearable. I won't see the other cats until the workmen break for the day.

James Caan passed away last night :(
I was just thinking of him last night.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.

83%!!! A couple of CDs going up in a little while, and then later some fun letters to me from a couple of very well-known folks.
-
It's weird - I get notified instantly when there's an Indiegogo contribution, but the one from this morning didn't notify me. I may write Indiegogo to see if there having issues. I would not have known there was a contribution had I not gone to the campaign itself.
-
I went back to the last notification from last night and there was a thing from gmail asking me if I wanted to keep getting notices from the sender. I hadn't noticed that - I clicked "yes" so we'll see if they start coming through again. I would have thought this morning's would have come through after clicking the Yes, but as of now, nope.

Finally showed up!
-
Thinking about putting the Reprise Musical Theatre box set up - four CDs of those wacky show albums - Guys and Dolls, Finian's Rainbow, Kiss Me Kate, and South Pacific. Don't know what it's going for these days, but it's always been rare - nice slip case, too. Musical Repertory Theatre is what it's really called.
-
Hooray for 83%!

TOD: I am not aboard the Frank Sinatra fandom train. He does nothing for me.
Ditto. ::) Nothing otherwise wrong with him, just not interested.
-
James Caan passed away last night :(
I just saw that. :(
-
Sunny Balwani was found guilty of more counts than Elizabeth Holmes in the Theranos case. I’m not sure if the somehow exonerates her in any way. They were both guilty.
-
Okay, Reprise box set is up - VERY rare. I haven't announced on Facebook yet so if it's of interest, you should grab it.
-
Gas dipped below $4 a gallon here in a few places.
-
Okay, Reprise box set is up - VERY rare.
I would have snapped that up if I didn't already have it. Wacky is right! It's actually the first thing that came into mind for the TOD. Fun, fun, fun!
-
The prices on this stuff are such steals. Wish there was a better way to get these in front of the eyes of true collectors.
-
I know. I post in groups but it seems Facebook does its thing there, too, and people just don't see. I mean, there have been hundreds of posts over the years about the Follies remix and the other remixes, and yet I am still astonished how many people who consider themselves collectors have no clew about them. If you're a member of groups on Facebook, do share the campaign - very helpful.
-
thanks for the vibes....I shall now be on my way to my opening....although I do not appear in the play until the last five minutes or so.....

Get a clue, JRand.

And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Negativity Vibes for John G

I saw the dentist this afternoon
-
And he saw me
-
And?
-
He has temporarily bonded my tooth and has submitted a proposal to insurabc3 for authorization for a crown
-
The mechanic called.
-
He can’t fix the issue, he thinks it stems from the antenna in the door handle
-
Boris Johnson has resigned. Good riddance.
Agreed...not that I know too much about British politics, though.
-
So I guess I’ll just live with it

No charge for today

I got a notification on the Covid app that I have that sometime within the last two weeks, I might have been exposed to Covid. :o
Can it be a little more vague??
-
I got the notification late last night. I'll test myself when I get home tonight. ::)
-
Happy opening night vibes for JRand!
-
I really liked James Caan, both on and off the camera.
Once, when I was running late for an appointment, i jumped out of my car and crashed right into him as he was strolling by. He steadied me, then tipped his hat, smiled, and told me to have a lovely day. Such a charming man.
-
I didn’t agree with his political views in 2016 and afterwards, but am still capable of admiring his skills as an actor.
-
If you see someone without a clew, give them one of yours.
-
The dentist charged
That should be the title of a penny dreadful. Or something.
-
DR Jrand71, don't know if you had a hand in the Clue poster, but I really, really like it.

Opening night vibes for Mr. J and Rand.

I read that Hillary Clinton attended the Broadway play POTUS last night.
She received a standing ovation when she entered.
There is a line in the play where the President’s wife is told “YOU should be the President.”
The audience clapped, cheered, then rose from their seats and turned to face her at her aisle seat in row 6. Stopped the show for many minutes.
-
We've had more action, but not quite enough to move a percentage point. You'd think 200 bucks would do that.
-
That's frustrating.
-
Well, at least a few posts can make a difference.
-
Just one more.
-
Six. I sez.
