Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 100%, and now it is time for you to post until the 100% and infinity and beyond cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CONVIVIAL!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It wasn't a good night for sleep. The roof workers and scaffolders have got Thatch in a terrified uproar, and he's spending too much time hiding under the bed. I'm worried that the noise, which was really bad yesterday, will give him a heart attack. So, when I woke at midnight and he wasn't sleeping with me and Annabewlle, I really started worrying. I called him and got no response. Usually, he comes running like a puppy to be with me, so that alarmed me. Around 12:30 I got out of bed and went n search of Thatch. Stella accompanied me, and we looked all over the apartment for him. When I went back to bed with the attitudfe of "he'll show up tomorrow."
-
I needed a bathroom break around 3:15, and when I turned on the light, I saw Thatch walk by the foot of the bed. When the alarm rang at 5:45, he was sleeping in my computer chair. After breakfast, he went back to hiding under my bed. I'll be glad when this scaffolding is down and the crew is a thing of the past.
-
Today I must work on the TV and environs. At 10:30 I must make a phone call about the recording project.
-
Last night I watched That Darn Cat!, which I last saw on VHS around forty years ago. I did see it as well on its original release in 1965. It holds up well, and the cast is quite wonderful. Dean Jones, Hayley Mills, and Dortothy Provine are wonderful, but the supporting cast - Neville Brand, Frank Gorshin, Roddy McDowell, William Demarest, and Elsa Lanchester as the harridan from herll - are good. I knew Grayson Hall in the earlty 1980s, since we had a mutual friuend, but I only knew her work from Dark Shadows. She's nicely understated as the kidnapped bank teller.
And to top it off, my beloved Ed Wynn has a funny scene as a nervous jeweler. I fell in love with him in his Texaco television days, and I would kill to see again that broadcast of On Borrowed Time with him as Gramps.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sorry, DR elmore3003. Glad Thatch is still with us, albeit scared.

Congratulations on the status of your campaign, bk.

Congrats (again) on reaching 100%+!!
-
Today, I'm going to see Thor: Love & Thunder with some friends that I haven't seen in a while.
-
I want to see Tacoma Little Theatre's production of Silent Sky (https://www.tacomalittletheatre.com/blog/20212022/clue-anzln) that's just now opening. I really want to see this. My friend pug directed it, and she also directed the production at Olympia Little Theatre a few years ago for which I ran the sound board. It's a beautiful play and I'd really like to see another production.
-
Such good news about 100%.....I celebrated by taking another perk!
-
Some other friends want to see it too, but I don't know when we'll be able to coordinate us all going together. Hopefully, it'll happen.
-
And now, I'm going to go back to sleep. ::)
Have a good day, all!
-
Grocery run accomplished.
-
Perhaps we'll go out to breakfast?
-
I was wondering if the round Capitol Records tower in LA still exists. From the Internet, it appears that it still does.
-
Last night we had only three seats left to sell at 7 p.m.
As the evening went on, we ended up with a total of 9 tickets since some season ticket folks turned in a stray ducat here and there.
So we were basically sold out! And the audience was most enthusiastic with Big Laffs and Heavy Mitts.
I think we are nearly sold out tonight - so we continue.
-
Since I don't come on until the last 5 minutes of the play, the director and AD asked me to do the curtain speech with them....which leads to a few minutes of hilarity.....
I come on welcoming everyone to tonight's performance of JOSEPH & THE AMAZING etc.......whereupon they rush on and correct me....and confusion and jokes fly fast and furious[ly].
So there you are.....
-
I have some things to do, but I hope to return before I leave for our third performance.....
-
That's a clever concept, DR Jrand71 - and fun!
-
So does your prouction of Clue have alternate endings, like the movie or The Mystery of Edwin Drood, or is the solution the same each night?
-
I do believe we can get to page two.
-
The goal is in sight.
-
It's just over the hill
-
And just around the corner
-
At last! Page TWO.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had a feeling last night that the GoGo could reach 100%. Just one of those feelings. Congratulations, and onward!
-
DR Jrand71: We need video of that curtain speech. Thank you in advance.
-
I really hope the project involving the scaffolding is not a long-term one. What exactly are they working on? Poor kitties — especially Thatch!

The roof has leaks and the last super ignored the fifth floor tenants' complaints. When the owner of the four buildings on the block, who's ancient and living in Florida, heard how the building management was letting the building slide, all hell broke loose, and the super was fired. The building is getting back in shape.

Congratulations to JRand71 on your show selling out.
Nice to be playing to a full audience.
-
Larry, I’m sorry you and the cats are suffering with so much noise in your building.
It’s so difficult for cats, as they really are terrified of loud noises.
I am too, by the way.
When there is loud construction in my building, I go a little bit crazy.
-
Well, maybe more than a little bit.
I hope they finish up the work quickly, so that you and the three little kittens can get some much deserved peace and quiet.

Saturday morning greetings! It's a quiet weekend for me, but Fr. Richard got a call last night to fill in at the church in Beavercreek tomorrow. He's hard at work at his desk.

I had a nice conversation with my friend funding the recording project. He's currently tied up with a medical and hospital and his wife's round of bad health. He had told me months ago that things were slow because the pandemic had folk watching their finances. We're not dead yet, but our survival is shaky.

105%. I think another five percent covers the fees - have to check on that to make sure. Then we can just keep going. Got a message asking if there was any more Lost in Boston original art or Unsung Musicals - pretty sure I have those in storage, so I may have to go down there on Monday to check.

No. I respectfully (but completely) disagree. I hope she loses biggly. If she wins, that could play into the anti-abortion people who claim that "life begins at conception." I have no direct stakes in the argument, but I've read several articles where Jews argue that the right to an abortion is a mandate of their religion. Here's one article:
Some Jewish groups blast the end of Roe as a violation of their religious beliefs (https://www.npr.org/2022/06/26/1107722531/some-jewish-groups-blast-the-end-of-roe-as-a-violation-of-their-religious-belief).
-
And here's another:
Not all religions oppose abortion (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2022/7/3/23190408/judaism-rabbi-abortion-religion-reproductive-rights). A rabbi makes the case for reproductive rights.

So….
We arrived at IKEA 5 minutes before our scheduled pickup time and parked in the “15 minute loading only” spot and went in to claim our bookcase
-
And discovered a huge mass of people and very little order
-
People just milling about, willy nilly and towing shopping carts
-
There were two television screens, one showing orders being processed, one showing orders ready to pick up
-
Our order number appeared on neither
-
There were three desks with lines in front of them , so we chose one at random and waited to talk to a employee
-
It appeared that most of the people were picking up items they had just chosen in the store and paid for at the register
-
Have been watching "Glitch" on Netflix. It's an interesting story line. I am on the last season (3) and wondering how they plan on ending it if, indeed, they do end it.
-
When we finally arrived at the front of the line and gave our order number the woman at the counter entered the number , asked that Vixdad repeat it, entered it again, then repeated that exercise two more times as Vixdad’s patience was visibly ebbing
-
He finally handed her his phone so she could look at the email confirmation number again , which she once more entered into her machine
-
TOD:
William Powell and Myrna Loy
Joan Davis and William Backus
Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn
-
Gosh, Vixmom!
-
Then she handed him back his phone, said “I’ll be right back” and disappeared through the plastic curtains into the back ( from whence many many packages were continuously materializing to be given to people who weren’t us)
-
After about 10 minutes we presumed she had decided a career in IKEA wasn’t making her feel fulfilled and ran off to more creative pursuits
-
Or met with a terrible accident
-
Or was suddenly was craving Taco Bell and snuck up to the food court fir a quick snack
-
Whatever life decisions she made after that fateful fifth try at entering the order number we shall never know
-
We never saw that woman again
-
Eventually we were able to catch the attention of the employee at the next desk and he agreed to go find the woman
-
Leaving two of the three desks now unattended
-
And the lines were getting looooooong
-
An$ the crowds were getting ugly
-
Of course mist people don’t really look their best after traversing the maze that is IKEA, so we shan’t hold their poor appearance against them
-
We ourselves were dressed quite casually and are no raving beauties
-
But I digress
-
Which I know you know is totally out of character for me
-
In fact I would say that most of you would be most surprised to hear I wandered away from my initial subject matter to discuss in detail something that had absolutely nothing to do with the story at hand
-
Back when I was in junior high , Miss Simmons, my English teacher , who was very keen on oral reports , always stressed the importance of sticking to the subject of your speech and by it wandering off into different topics
-
Mr. Engle , my 11th grade English teacher, also was a proponent of oral reports and was also a bit of a smart ass
-
He gave once assigned each of topics which could be interpreted in alternate ways.
-
I remember Robert Parisi was assigned “Dates on a Dime” and he gave a hilarious speech about how he would take girls out on dates with out sending more than ten cents
-
I, myself, was given the topic of “Apple polishing”
-
Most likely because he thought I was a bit of a suck up just because I would read assigned novels all in one go, when we were assigned chapter one
-
And because I would always participate in class discussions
-
And because I liked Shakespeare
-
I just loved Reading and talking about what I read
-
If he saw me in math class he would have seen a sullen, miserable student, cowering in the back hoping to remain invisible
-
Back from a grand dinner at the Smokehouse. Filet, dinner salad, and creme brûlée.
-
110%! Next stop, 115%! We've almost covered the fees - I'll go check to see what's what exactly.
-
We've covered the fees - just barely. But then they withhold eleven hundred bucks for people changing their mind, which I find horrible, since in none of my campaigns has that ever happened. They began doing that about five campaigns ago - thankfully, it's only been a few weeks but they have the right to hold it for six months, so next stop is covering that and then I'm hoping we can keep going on from there because there's so much to be done and I want to do it all and pay down most or all of the big boy bills.
-
Home from the dance.
-
Good night, all.

I hope not. There was a case like this in Washington. She lost, big time. The unborn does not take up a separate seat, but shares the driver’s seat. She would have a better chance using her dog as the second rider.
-
And don't call me Shirley.
Okay, Laverne!

Vixmom, have you become a vegetarian?

That's another good (enough) argument. ;)

Sorry, Tom. ::)
-
I just signed up to usher for tomorrow's matinee of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and I needed to make sure that I had a clean white shirt to wear.
-
I have clean (enough) black pants, but I did wash my white shirts a few days ago.
-
I just now need to put them in the dryer tomorrow to help get out the wrinkles after leaving them in the dryer.

That's what took me away from HHW...this time.
