Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 110% and began their journey to infinity and beyond, and now it is time for you to post until the 110% to infinity and beyond cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PINNACLE!
-
First post after BK!
My new hobby. 😊
-
Congrats on reaching 110%…most impressive.
-
There is an item at The Smoke House that I really love…the seafood brochette.
-
Scallops, shrimp, and salmon, skewered and charbroiled, served on a bed of rice.
Ordered it years ago, loved it, and never forgot how delicious it was.
-
Also loved the red leather booths.
I hope they’re still there.
Nothing comes close to the decor and atmosphere of those classic old time Hollywood/L.A. restaurants.
Nothing original or unique in today’s restaurants.
-
Same thing in New York.
Guess I’m feeling a bit nostalgic.
-
Wishing everyone a relaxing Sunday!
🌻 🌹 🌷 🌸
-
Oh, almost forgot.
TCB, “Tell No One” is a suspenseful French thriller with many plot twists. Very well done. Let me know what you think after you’ve watched it.
-
Larry, I hope that you and the kids will enjoy a peaceful Sunday, relatively free of noise.
-
And the word of the day is: PINNACLE!
I could never remember all the rules to Pinnacle.
-
Oh, almost forgot.

I will. Thank you.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Yesterday was too crazy, but thatnk God it's over. I had to clean the TV and its environs for the new one Ann and Jen are bringing me today. It was a dusty and dirty mess but my small space is cluttered and annoying until this project is finished.
At 5:30, when I considered myself finished for the day, I checked my cell phone for the first time since 8:30 when I made the bed. There was a text from my friend Chris about meeting him and our friend George for brunch. I had completely forgotten about it.
-
Why the fat hell did he not call me? I would have answered the phone.
-
My computer, like my lousy life these days is wonky. I think I need to reboot.
-
I think I need to reboot.
A great title for a memoir.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Happy to see the numbers climbing.
-
I had trouble falling asleep last night, but once I did, I slept through, so I am thankful for that.
-
Small blessings.
-
This calls for a candy cigar!
-
Thanks for continuing the saga, DR vixmom.
-
I hope the police put out an APB for the missing store clerk.
-
I, for one, would love to read your treatise on apple polishing.
-
Speaking of food items, I have never had a Hasselback potato.
-
I know: I'm depraved on accounta I'm deprived.
-
But it's a post.
-
And a post is a post.
-
Finally! Two.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Well, we are back in auditions this evening and tomorrow evening. We certainly have some contenders. We just need more. And of course, as always, more of the male persuasion.
-
We’re in solid summer weather now. For us, that means high 80s and a few low 90s here and there.
While here at HHW, it’s 110% in the shade!
-
And I am rebooted and back! It's been a sitty morning after a night of weird dreams. Today I officially run out of money. Snce I've had no income since Sept. 5, 2021 except for my Social Security and pension, I have exhausted my savings and maxed out my credit card. Friday was supposedto be the closing of the Ohio property, but it's on hold because of the City of Middletown and I honestly believe the sale will fall through. I've finally had contacct with Indiana University, but there's still no contract and no money.
I'm having a hard time dealing with that and my envy of friends who are working. Not only does my commy computer need a reboot but so does my life, and I'm starting to worry it won't happen. I hate to be a downer, but today is really a lousy day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had dreams of finally understanding what I needed to do to complete a work project. I liked that kind of dream.

Reboots of all kinds vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I want that seafood dish that DR LURKER IRIS described.....NOW!
-
I hope DR VIXMOM has a wonderful time as a lay reader today.
I have alerted the Missouri Synod that the ordination run over time.
-
DR VIXMOM.....
and then.....and then......
-
So excited for MR BK's Indiegogo success!
-
Pete Buttegieg and his family are moving from Indiana to Michigan....so there you are.
-
I do not think the curtain speeches are recorded....I shall see.
DR singdaw the ending is the one that's used in the movie when it's shown on television. First Wadsworth the butler does a recap of the evening....and then another character is revealed to be an FBI agent and accuses EVERYONE else of at least one murder that has occurred during the show....
-
Last night my brother David and his wife Deneen were in the audience.
I of course pulled them into the curtain speech and he started to talk back which really made the audience laugh....it was very funny....
-
Vickie the AD told me before we hit the stage that she heard some guy telling folks that it was the first time he had been to PCPH in 20 years.....so we always ask if there are any folks present for the first time.....and she added....is anyone here for the first time in 20 years....
And my brother raised his hand.....and I said: "That's my brother....I don't know who is more surprised: him seeing me onstage or me seeing him in the audience.....and after all of those basketball games I went to....."
-
Etc Etc Etc.
-
Free for all - and since I don't have any pies - I will ask:
What is the MOST inaccurate film biography of a human person have you seen?
I think Miss Carroll Baker's version of HARLOW is high on my list.
-
Enough me for now.
-
Am very delighted the Indiegogo goal has been surpassed.

It's a gray and rainy Sunday here in Johnston SC!!
I am having lunch with Sharon and Butch (my cousin) at the club this morning at 11 a.m.
It should be good food, but it may be a wet outing if the storms persist.
-
bk, have you released this one? I don't remember it.
This is one I need, if I can ever pay for a copy. I know Elmlslie slightly, niot well, but we hasve a mutual friend.

I hope DR VIXMOM has a wonderful time as a lay reader today.
It sounds dirty to me.

Ann and Jen have come and gone, and I have a new TV set up. Ann and I watched Jen play with my Spectrum remote and program everything. She's amazing.
They had to run off to do other things, but they will return to set up the DVD player.

From DR George:
Quote from: Jane on July 09, 2022, 03:03:10 PM
I hope this delightfully clever woman wins her case.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/pregnant-texas-woman-says-unborn-184932448.html
No. I respectfully (but completely) disagree. I hope she loses biggly. If she wins, that could play into the anti-abortion people who claim that "life begins at conception." I have no direct stakes in the argument, but I've read several articles where Jews argue that the right to an abortion is a mandate of their religion. Here's one article:
Interesting response compared to mine, thinking it showed how absurd the new laws are.
-
I have been following the rabbis who have been making a case for the religious right to get abortions and pray they win.
-
Funny, I had no idea this was part of the religion. It might explain why I am not aware of knowing any Jews who are not pro-choice.
-
From George:
Just my 2˘.
It was a good 2˘ :)
-
If the case I read about had been the same case DR TCB read about in Washington, I would have rolled my eyes and not wanted her to win. So far Washington if, thank goodness, a pro-choice state.
-
DR Vxmom you were exceptionally entertaining last night :) ;D

Hello DR JANE! I hope you are having a nice Sunday.

Back from ninety minutes in storage - couldn't find the art, even though it's there somewhere, just not reachable. But I did bring home some more of my acting scripts, so those will go up, including two Donny and Marie scripts. I also brought home a ton of OOP Varese CDs, so you'll want to check back in, perks-wise, as I'll start putting those up right away. Also, found a few of the really rare original two-CD version of our Promises, Promises release. It not only has the remix, of course, but also the newly remastered original album that has all the pitch problems, but sounding better than it ever has before. It sold out in two days, I think, and then we reissued it with JUST the remix. That's already up.
-
Great perks MR BK!
Highly recommended.
I bought a Donny & Marie script during your last Indiegogo campaign, and it is highly recommended by me for folks who are interested in how tv works and what goes into making a "show."
A rare and exciting opportunity.
-
I put up quite a few things and need to take a brief break before putting up more - I'll start doing the film music stuff in thirty minutes, and there are more show albums, too.
-
Things are a-hoppin'.
-
Oh yes, they are.
-
We've got cranberries and underpants.

But not necessarily in that order.

Billie Burke and Rochester are just perfect in Topper Returns.
At one point when the ghost scares Rochester, he talks about going back to work for Mr. Benny.
Of course, some of the humor isn’t politically correct by today’s standards. But it’s still a funny sequel.

The weekend is over.

I, for one, would love to read your treatise on apple polishing.
I did it on actually polishing apples.
I first explained that the women in my family line for generations ( including my grandmother) had run fruit stands back in the old country and the art of properly polishing apples by hand to aid in sales had been taught to me from the time I was old enough to hold an apple.
Then I illustrated by actually polishing an apple while discussing proper rubbing techniques, including speed, firmness of grip (hard enough to polish, soft enough to avoid bruising the apple) *edit*
I also had different types of materials to polish with, paper towel, nylon, 100% cotton to show that the cotton was optimal for polishing
Then I explained that UCLA had done an extensive study of sales of polished vs unpolished apples and discovered that polished apples of the same type, size, condition of ripeness etc sold 4 x faster than unpolished apples.
Then I held up a picture of a automated applepolisher ( which I had drawn) which I claimed was now commonly used in the apple industry.
Discussed the advantages of using distilled vs spring water to clean the apples and disparaged the use of waxes that coat the skins.
I did get an A+ and convinced about half the class that I had extensively researched the topic and came from a long line of Hungarian apple polishers.
-
It was nearly 50 years ago, but it was such a fun moment I’ve never forgotten it
-
I’m sold.
-
So……
I believe I left off with two unattended desks, a milling crowd and a grumpy husband
-
And no bookcase in our possession
-
After about five minutes the guy who went to look for the runaway reappeared with another guy, who said he would help us.
-
Six!
-
He looked at Vixdad’s email confirmation, said our order wasn’t processed yet, but he would expedite it and suggested we take a seat.
-
We were getting concerned that our car being parked in the 15 minute parking was going to be a problem as by now we had been there at least three quarters of an hour
-
But we were told not to worry
-
Vixdad, however, is not one to allow a good opportunity for a good old fashioned worry pass him by, so he went out to make sure my van wasn’t being towed off to oblivion
-
*SPOILER*

-
All the CDs are now up. Only took two hours.
-
After about another half hour or so of waiting and watching others stroll off the cash register line and pick up their newly purchased boxes which were immediately ready and waiting I decided it was my turn to discuss things with the guy at the desk
-
All the CDs are now up. Only took two hours.
I bought one.
-
I bought the lost in Boston trio
-
I must stay away from that indigogo lest I be tempted again
-
I must stay away from that indigogo lest I be tempted again
Amen.
-
But Bruce if you find cd IV I beg you to let me have first crack at it
-
Sooooo
-
I went to have a discussion with the guy at the desk as to his definition of the word “expedite” meant as I was beginning to believe we held vastly different opinions on the matter
-
He explained that our order hadn’t been processed since we hadn’t yet paid for it
-
Except we had
-
So Vixdad showed the man his email confirmation from IKEA as well as the email from the bank advising of the online purchase
-
The guy said,” I’ll be right back “ and disappeared behind the plastic curtain
-
We feared the worst, since we knew there was a black hole behind that curtain that ate IKEA employees
-
But he returned, unscathed, with an older woman in tow
-
He explained to us that she was the supervisor
-
He showed her the screen and said “it’s happening again”
-
AGAIN!
-
Apparently they were aware that some online sales were being properly acknowledged to the customers while not advising the store of the purchase
-
We asked them. To check if the item was actually in stock and said we’d go get it ourselves and cancel the online sale
-
No, no, don’t do that! It will just make things worse
-
Said the supervisor
-
She assured us that she would look into it and suggested we step over to the cafe and get an ice cream
-
And told Vixdad that our car was safe from towing
-
She didn’t offer to give us the ice cream fir free, which would have been a nice gesture, but dud promise to take personal charge if the matter
-
So we went over to the cafe and we had ice cream
-
Then we sat and waited
-
And waited
-
We did a bit more waiting
-
We had now been there neatly three hours
-
We had seen dozens of people zip up, grab their boxes and zip out
-
We were becoming quite envious of the zippers
-
And antsy
-
So I approached the desk again and asked the supervisor what in the wide wide world of sports was going on
-
She said, oh, I’ve been calling you
-
I pointed out that we’ve been sitting not ten feet away , directly in her line of site and not only did we not hear our name called but she hadn’t made the slightest attempt to catch our attention by waving…or throwing a bookcase at us
-
She said I’m sorry Mrs. (Vixdad’s first name with the letter “s” added) but I’ve been calling…
-
I explained that that wasn’t our name
-
So she looked at me, and the screen and me a few times and then said “oh”
-
”but good news, we’ve found your payment!”
-
“Excellent, where is the bookcase?”
-
“Oh, the orders being processed “
-
I then explained to her
-
S. L. O. W L E Y
-
In short, easy to understand words,
-
that I expected her to walk over to the shelf and get that bookcase and give it to me in the next fifteen minutes as we had been extremely patient for the past THREE AND A HALF HOURS
-
She said “I’ll be right back”
-
And disappeared behind the infamous curtain o’plastic
-
But, much to my astonishment, she did come right back, with a tall, broad, fit looking young man
-
She showed him the screen and he disappeared behind the aforementioned curtain
-
The plastic one
-
and in about 13 minutes he returned with a trolly on which lay
-
In a pristine flat box
-
The bookcase
-
We steered it over to our van
-
Still safely parked in the 15 minute loading only parking area
-
And drove home
-
Where we unloaded the bookcase
-
And then sat down and had a nice cuppa tea
-
The End
-
And while that happened, I went in for another pair o' CDs!
-
(The Schwartzes!)
-
With that, I thank vixmom for the tale, and bid you all a good night.
-
PS -- 121%.

-
Great story, Vixmom. I hope all of the pieces are there.
They were, and the bookcase is assembled and in place
-
Good night folks
-
I was very surprised there were no IVs there. I did bring home some Unsung Musicals II and a couple more Randy Graff, so those will go up tomorrow.
-
121%! What a day this has been!
-
Today, I'll be ushering for Hedwig and the Angry Inch again, and then right after that, the family will hie ourselves to one of the restaurants at the Red Wind Casino to celebrate the birthday of my sister's boyfriend. :)
So...I though I was supposed to usher for Hedwig today. ::)
-
121%! What a day this has been!
Wow! That's wonderful!! :D
-
So, I signed up just last night to usher, and I got down there a little late, thinking that the call time was 12:30. I walked through the box office, said hi to the person sitting there, then went into the lobby which was completely dark. ???
-
I quickly looked up the call time info on my phone and that's when I saw that I was actually about 5 minutes early, but people still should've been there already.
-
I went back into the box office and that's when I was told that the performance had been cancelled due to Covid. What?? :-\
-
She also said that the performance last night had been cancelled! WHAT?? :o
-
They cancelled TWO performances but still had them listed online as available to usher?? I quickly checked my e-mail and there was no e-mail telling me not to come down to the theater.
-
Just a few minutes later, another usher showed up, also not knowing that the performance had been cancelled. Well! There was nothing that we could do except to leave. :P
-
I'm going to send a message to the volunteer coordinator expressing my displeasure at the whole situation. They should've taken down the volunteer listing and made sure that something like this didn't happen. >:(
-
After I left the theater, I came home and visited my friend Shelly who lives in the next building. I taught her how to play Phase 10 and we played a couple of games. We each one a game. :)
-
After that, I came home and just relaxed before I had to leave to pick up my sister and her boyfriend and drive them to the casino for his birthday dinner.
-
We went to the River Water Bar and Grille (https://www.redwindcasino.com/riverwaterbarandgrille/) in the casino.
-
WOW!! IT'S PAGE NINE!! :D
-
I had the MEATBALL AL FORNO PUTTANESCA: housemade meatball, spaghetti noodles, Puttanesca sauce. It was one big meatball on what looked like angel hair pasta and the sauce, which was the watery kind of spaghetti sauce, so it never seems like you get very much. It all tasted very good, but I like a thicker, less watery sauce.
-
Anyway, I brought some of it home, so I'll have some for later...not now, I'm still full. :)
-
I dropped off my sister and her boyfriend, gave him his gift (decaf Keurig coffee pods) and then came home, where I've been ever since.
-
And nine pages isn't chopped liver neither.
-
Speaking of chopped liver, where in tarnation is TCB? :)
