Well, you've read the notes, the notes revealed a little bit about the new web series (we may call it a streaming series), and now it is time for you to post until the webbed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JACKPOT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day: I haven't watched it yet, but I checked out The Lure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJB5hctnxQQ) from the library. It looks pretty weird.
-
Good morning, all!
-
There's a lot of thunder outside. It's going tovbe a stormy day, and I am happy I'm not going out.
-
I didn't sleep badly, but my abdomen is in a lot of pain this morning. I don't know if it's lower back muscles or the once0-cancerous kidney, but it's limiting my activity at the moment.
-
I have no TV until Wednesday, when I can pay my past due Spectrum bill - such embarrassment! - so I*'m rereading Robert Rodi's wonderfull funny book of Jane Austen essays, Bitch in a Bonnet.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, thanks for the review of Persuasion, my favorite Austen novel. I'm going to pass, I think. It sounds as irritating and aggravating as the flm of Mansfield Park with Frances O'Connior. I don't think either previous film of Persuasion is really successful, but I prefer the Amanda Root adaptation.
-
Yesterday, I watcvhed again the 1980 BBC five-part Pride and Prejudice with Elizabeth Garvie and David Rintoul, which I think I prefer to the Colin Firth-Jennifer Ehle edition. I definitely prefer Garvie to Ehlem, but both adaptations have their moments,

DR George, thanks for posting the link to the article on Zach Stains. I am completel;y floored! I worked with him on the Victor Herbert songs in 2011, and I don't think I've seren hoim or heard anything about him since. He was a nice guy, but a bit if a flake, and I believe he was working on moving from tenor to baritone. The child porn charges completely boggled me.
Around ten years ago, a dentist who was in the NYC Gay Men's Chorus in the 1980s and a good friend at the time was arrested for serious drug dealing. I'm still amazed at that news, too!

I am up early this morning. I have a 10 a.m. appointment in North Augusta SC to have my windshield replaced on my Nissan Rogue. How it cracked I don't know, but it may have had something to do with the heat.

Happy July 18th to everyone.
I hope your day begins as beautifully sunny and clear as mine has.
It is 74 degrees. Today's high should be 90.

That's all I have for now.
-
BK, when will you be in NY?

It’s so dark out I thought my clocks were wrong and it was long before dawn

Glad you are home, DR John G.

Thanks for the review, DR Ron Pulliam.

That probably could have been about 10,000 separate posts. A la DR vixmom. :)

It sounds like you're using the "Fred McMurray Method" for filming your series. He did this for My Three Sons.
All episodes were filmed out of sequence during the show's entire run using a technique now known as the MacMurray method. All episodes were filmed out of sequence during the show's entire run. MacMurray would do all of his scenes in 65 nonconsecutive days. All kitchen scenes would be done together, then all scenes in the upstairs hallway would be filmed together, etc. The cast regulars got haircuts once a week in order to maintain continuity. Guest stars would have to return months later to complete an episode. This fact was well concealed until Dawn Lyn joined the cast as Dodie. Her upper front teeth grew in irregularly during the entire 1969-70 season, from being barely visible in scenes with MacMurray to being plainly visible in scenes without him.

The Apple and The Lure are both on my list, along with an Esther Williams swim flick or two. I will have to give it more thought.

Monday morning greetings! As soon as I get one last piece of information, I can get the 2022-23 program book for Middletown Current Events Club to the printer - whew!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am dragging this morning. Fortunately, it's supposed to be a rainy or stormy day (and we really do need the rain) and I'm staying in. I do have one errand to run later.
-
Forgot to mention that the new web series sounds very exciting.
-
Thought of you, DR elmore3003!
-
Vixmom, thank you for the vibes.
-
Vixmom too bad the show wasn't very good.
-
DR TCB which steamer did you purchase and are you also happy with it?
-
From TCB:
I am not sure I understand your question. I believe he was still in prison at the time of the documentary. Or did you mean what was he doing at the time of the accident? He has no memory of the accident, but he was driving on the wrong side of the highway. I hope your answer is in there somewhere.
I thought he was out of prison by the time they did the documentary and had been interviewed. I did google him and read he never gives interviews. It is a shame he doesn't talk and try to influence others not to drive drunk.

From TCB:
Too liberal for Washington?

Maybe for Clark County. I am not sure about that. After all, we are home to the Proud Boys :(

The article does say, "He allegedly confessed and told cops, “I would not trust myself” to be alone with a child." And he only got probation, not jail time, which implies that he never actually engaged in any behavior with a child, so it could've been a lot worse.

Didn't they also film Family Affair with Brian Keith that way? That's what I'd heard, at least.

My back is not doing well today at all. I don'ty know, as I reported earlier, if it's a kidney, a pulled musicle, or that damned crush disc in my lower spine. It has not been a happy day.
-
I've been watching the 1999 BBC adaptation of David Copperfield with Daniel Radcliffe and Maggie Smith as Aunt Betsey Trotwood. I watched it in 1999, and I'm amazed at how much I had forgotten and how wonderful the cast is. How could David's mother have been so taken in by Mr Murdstone and his evi twin? Trevor Eve and the wonderful Zoe Wanamaker are the stuff of nightmares as the Murdstones.
I did remember, though, how wonderful Maggie Smith is as Aunt Betsey.

How important was Facebook to the Indiegogo campaign?

TOD 3:
I have a rather strange musical on my to-watch table. Fritz Lang’s You and Me with George Raft and Sylvia Sydney. Kurt Weill score. It’s all about greed and the love of money versus the love of a good woman. The DVD box doesn’t even mention it’s a musical.

With our lovely weather our little dog park as been extra busy. We pass it while walking back to our building.

The dogs that know us begin parking long before we approach to demand that we stop, say hello, and give them their treats.

One of our neighbors has a sweet dog that seems to be a bit vision impaired. We could see him watching without getting excited.

My dear friend, Jim with Michel Legrand hanging out at Oscar Peterson's place in Toronto. Jim was Oscar Peterson's wife's uncle, so Michel, Oscar, Benny Green and the rest of the group called him, Uncle Jim. He loved it.
-
Just as we were directly across the little road from him his tail began to wag, he cocked his head, and looked so imploring and cute we simply couldn't resist him.

There was another dog in there with him who now knows we carry treats-lol

Not really. It was the same class that I've taken for the last five years. Nothing new.

Nothing worth telling, anyway.

I have to take a series of 6 courses every year to re-certify on handling private information. The courses never change. And it is time once again.

I took a look at the Robert Rodi books on Jane Austen after a mention by DR elmore3003. It looks like there are two.

I remember one of the weirdest musicals ever, Francis Coppola's One from the Heart. The characters don't sing. But the Tom Waits score is wonderful. One of the few things about the movie that worked.

You've been posting some great nature photos on FB lately.

Good night, friends.

Thanks to those who commented on my wordle today.

I very nearly cancelled my Safelite appointment for my windshield replacement. I got a text advising me there was limited waiting space and that I should consider dropping my car off and waiting for them to call.
But, I decided to take a chance. I made sure I had a folding chair in my car if I needed to set it up somewhere.
As it turned out, they had a spacious waiting room, with many chairs and a TV. I was a bit early, but they took my car by 9:45 and I had it back by 10:30. That's not bad considering they had to make camera adjustments for my rearview mirror.
-
I made an appointment today for a Friday eye exam.
The South Carolina DMV sent me a renewal form that included instruction that I follow the "new" state law requiring all renewals to be accompanied by a recent eye exam performed by a licensed South Carolina optometrist.
That would seemingly invalidate my VA eye exam last done Augusta GA. My next appointment there is in late September anyway...and the appointments are hard to get.
So, getting an appointment in Edgefield for Friday afternoon seems a real treat.

Well, tomorrow, I'm finally getting my new license plates!
-
I just realized YESTERDAY that I had a voice mail from the dealership from July 9TH, but my phone never indicated that I had a message, let alone that I even got a call! :o WTH??
-
Anyway, I called today and made an appointment for tomorrow.
-
They'll put on the plates, and they'll also give me a "Love Encore Delivery" where they go over the vehicle with me again and answer any more questions that I might have.
-
I was told that it could take as little as 15 minutes, but they allow an hour in case I have a lot of question, which I probably won't.
-
Anyway, I bought a pair of license plate frames (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B1NHXHR) that match the color of my car, and I'll have them put them on with the plates, so that'll be taken care of.
