Well, you've read the notes, the notes were lackadaisical, and now it is time for you to post until the lackadaisical cows come home.

Good morning, all!
-
I read a bit of my most entertaining mytstery until my eyes gave out - because of the cataracts, after reading a bit, I eventually reach a point where the print no longer registers as print - and I decided to go to bed.b I brushed the cats and turned out the lights around 8:15. I slept for what seemed hours, and when I checked the clock it was only 11:30. I had one long dream involving my brother Macbeth, the Drama Book Shop, my friend Mimi Bessette at a performance or preview matinee of Macbeth starring Christopher Plummer and Zoe Caldwell, and a frustrated attempt to deliver a check. It all made sense several hours ago.
-
I have the feeling I'm thinking about my brothers because this is - hopefully! - the week to settle the question of the Ohio property purchasers vs the City of Middletown.
-
DR George, you are really a saint. I remain in awe of youre energy, good spirits, and kindness to so many.
-
DR singdaw, how long are you back in our neck of the woods?
-
BK, I do not recall your saying much, when you speak about your writing, about painting yourself into corners, so I found that very interesting in today's notes. I admire the creativity and ease with which you write.
-
Today, I am meeting Phil Chan for breakfast at 10:00. Phil is the creative partner with my friend Doug Fullington on this ballet for Indiana University. Much as I hate going out today, too hot and way too humid, I look forward to meeting him.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Excellent day vibes for us all.

Hmmmm TOD, I always liked Love and Death and Annie Hall
I haven’t seen either for years

I think it was TCB who asked what a bialy is. It’s related to the bagel and is apparently more commonly found in the northeast.
They’re a bit fussier to slice, being smaller and differently shaped, but they’re very good and have a great texture, especially (IMO) toasted with butter.

I don’t know why that link isn’t pasting properly, but just confirm “bialy (bread)” and it should go to the Wiki page.
Also, just go to Google Images and type in bialy.

Good luck with the fence vibes for DR Jrand71!
And with the fence, should he decide to show up, too.

The weather here is perfectly fine right now. It's sunny and 73 degrees. Storms are called for later in the day. And the humidity is 83%.
Shucks and darn! I hate it when my clothes stick to me outdoors.

I have two appointments this week:
Physical therapy tomorrow morning at the VA in Augusta, plus a visit to the lab there for blood work for my Thursday morning appointment at the VA in Aiken. This appointment was previously scheduled for September 2, but I got a message last week telling me there was an opening for the 28th and did I want it. I said yes, but probably should not have.
Oh, well.

ChasSmith, I think the parentheses affect the URL linkage if you just paste it as is, but if you add [ url ] (without the spaces) before the link and [ /url ] (again, without the spaces) after the link, it'll work. :)

Does anyone remember the Folger editions of Shakespeare? On the right page was the text and on the left was the explanation of arcane terms and language. Those were wonderful.

In wonder if they’re still in print.

They are in print but with different covers.

The fence is about 3/4's done.....still need about three sections and the gate to be hung.

I had all of them when I left for NUYC in 1979. They were very popular at The Drama Book Shop. We sold tns of them./ I can't believe whoever now owns Pocket Books would take them out of print.

Last Thursday I had a routine 6-month check-up with my cardiologist. He was looking at some blood test results from earlier this spring and said, "These numbers aren't good. They're GREAT!" That's a way to give a patient another heart attack.

And The Baker's Wife! I used to see him in The Drama Book Shop. He was always very friendly, and we talked opera. At one point he was going off to play Alfred in a production of Die Fledermaus. His daughter was not well liked.

Sad news about David Warner, the fabulous scheming Blifil in Tony Richardson's Tom Jones, and the creepy Jack the Ripper in Time after Time.
-
Re Sorvino, it just happens that this evening I'm seeing Goodfellas for my first time ever - complete, straight through.
Certainly I've seen clips over the years, but that movie and I never managed to be in the same place at the same time. Tonight I'll have the chance to rectify that at the Bedford Playhouse.

Finessed episode seven - shortened, tightened, and better. Sent that off.
-
Had a Subway pastrami earlier, after picking up packages.
-
Watched a movie.
-
Now having a chicken Caesar wrap.
-
I enjoyed Poodle Springs. It's not the best Marlowe, but Caan conveys that wounded virtuous knight with an understated solidness. Plus, Stoppard has some good humorous lines to balance the ugliness of the story. This Marlowe is aging and feels a little like a dinosaur. But he's just married to a stunner. My favorite line is when he finishes questioning a prostitute at a by-the-hour motel, and another lady of night spots him. "Hey, Marlowe, didn't you just get married?" she asks.
SPOILER ALERT: There is something horrible that happens to a cat. So, this is not a movie for everyone. I had to leave during that scene.
-
Again, the movie is on YouTube. Without commercials. It's a little soft of focus.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening.

I have nothing to report.

Except that we could really use some popcorn in this house.
