Well, you've read the notes, the notes got together, and now it is time for you to post until the together cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ARCHETYPAL!
-
Actually, George will be happy to know that despite a few low posting days, this is the biggest posting month of 2022 thus far, and we've already well surpassed our visitor views - 1.2 million of those. So, that's damn fine and we still have today and tomorrow. I should do Indiegogo campaigns every month.

Hoo and Ray! I'm sure you're pretty happy about that, too, BK!
-
And that's a wonderful picture of you and Richard Sherman in your notes!

Topic of the Day: I don't know from movies of the week from the Golden Age. ::)
-
And I think I my have to try some Pepcid. Tums works, but if something works better, that would be better.
-
And do you use (or anyone else uses) Pepcid AC versus Pepcid Complete? Is one preferable?
-
Pepcid complete is what I use.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well for six hours. I awoke at 3:00 in serious need of a bathroom, where I spent the next hour guarded by three cats. I finally got back to bed a little after 4:00, but the alarm at 6:00 was way too early. I no longer feel sick, just tired. 4
-
BK, that's a great photo of you and Richard.
-
Since I've been offered a job, I need to get on to it, so this weekend, I need to clewan off my worktable, check my score paper supply, and begin a sketch for the concert overture.
-
Safe travels today, DR singdaw!
-
DR George, BK is right about Pepcid AC. IU've used the original on and off for years, and this is the carton it comes in.
-
All, they haven't worked in the past, but I could use a lot of strong vibes to get that property over the finish line this week.
-
Vibes....and I will start a candle burning as well DR ELMORE.
As Liza says: Maybe this time.
-
I enjoyed the notes and the photo in the notes.....I guess I probably wouldn't recognize Mr. Sherman in person myself - except that he is very popular with the HHW populace and we now and then see recent photos of him.....
-
Like DR ELMORE, I have been dealing with a state agency......I received a call yesterday with a list of things I have to send them.....I have them all....so I await the letter with the list so I can send it all back.

TOD:
The House On Green Apple Road with Burr DeBenning and his teeny tiny speedo.
Black Widow - wherein Patty Duke turns into an actual spider.
Night Drive - Valerie Harper is driving on a detour when she sees a man kill a police officer.....he starts chasing her car with his....all night....scary stuff.
Smash-Up on Interstate 5 - wherein a crash involving many, many cars and trucks is told from the point of view of all of the drivers involved....we see the crash at the beginning....then a flashback to the morning of THE DAY.... Drivers & passengers include Harriett Nelson, Buddy Ebsen, Vera Miles, and policeman Robert Conrad....

Saturday.

I rarely saw any MOW for several reasons:
1. 1970-71 I was in grad school;
2. 1971-72, I was crashing ad burning as an instructor for a Pennsylvania college;
1972-1979, I was driving my parents crazy and finding any reason not to be at hme, I was doing a lot of theatre, playing in a community symphony, and then I moved to NYC.
There was a televised production of Ketti Frings' Pulitzer-Prize winning play Look Homeward Angel, with Geraldine Page, that might have been a MOW. I missed it then and still would love to see.

TOD:
Brian's Song
Tribes
The Rape of Richard Beck
Mr. and Mrs. Bo Jo Jones
The Homecoming: A Christmas Story
A Christmas Memory
(Those are MOWs I recall/remember)

I am lying down, listening to music, and using my MacBook. Annabelle and Thatch are with me. Stella got miffed when I moved her to make the bed, so she's lying on the floor near the bed.

Good morning, all.

Dead tired this morning, but at least I got a little extra sleep.

Last night we saw The Sound of Music at the local summer outdoor theeder, their first production since 2019 due to Covid and then a wind and rain storm that so heavily damaged their rickety 30-year-old stage that it had to be demolished and rebuilt. The new stage is huge, and solidly constructed of weatherproof material. There's much more to be done in the way of other improvements that were already needed, and they're determined to have those in place for next summer.

Around 1985 I worked with John McGlinn on a Gershwin-Rodgers & Hart concert at that place, I do recall.

We had to endure a bit of light rain here and there, but everyone on the lawn enjoyed their picnics and beverages and hung in there and it was a delightful evening. The most amazing part of it, though, was the woman who's an expert in ASL who communicated the show for a sizable group of hearing impaired people, something we don't have, or have enough of, in our local theeders.
Audience and cast alike found her presence thrilling, and were amazed at how it heightened or enhanced the show for everyone. One of the younger people in her target audience was literally seeing her first ever live performance -- of anything -- and she and her family were wiping tears of joy throughout. It was an incredible and moving event for all.

This venue is called Musicals at Richter, in Danbury, on the grounds adjacent to a very beautiful golf course. Is that the place you're remembering? I believe they were just getting their start around 1985.

Just cleaned out two overstuffed kitchen drawers. Got rid of a lot of stuff. I am a pack rat, expertly trained by both parents.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep - not really, though - five.

No, I don't remember. Is there something like a Danbury Music Center? I wish I still had the program.

Yes, that would be the building and the organization behind the fair-to-middlin' volunteer orchestra:

Hello, 5 guests!

Damnation! DR vixmom and I have something in common. US Postal Service has lost a package sent to me on July 21 from Nashville. There's no tracking info for the past god damned week, so I have no idea where the fat hell it is.
-
I hope DR TCB is doing better today.
-
Ah I am now reminded of a couple of other outstanding MOW productions....by the DRs at HHW.
Brian's Song
A Case of Rape with Elizabeth Montgomery.....who was a very good actress.....after she is attacked, her attacker goes on trial. The cross examination is brutal and she eventually cries out: "I'm not guilty!"
Her rapist is set free - and he returns to rape her again. It was one of the most shocking and eye opening television movies EVER.
-
She was nominated for an Emmy for both A Case of Rape and The Lizzie Borden Story - and probably should have won for both.
A friend was in California and saw her dining with Robert Foxworth shortly before she passed away and said she was still stunningly beautiful but very fragile looking.....
-
Some people got it and make it pay.
Some people can't even give it away. SS

That's great that they were able to rebuild the stage!

The Washington Center here in Olympia is closed until late October (I think) for remodeling.

I hope DR TCB is doing better today.
et moi aussi!

They're practically stripping it all down to the studs and getting all new seats. Can't wait for it to be finished!

It's been a quiet day. I am hoping my tummy is going to behave tonight.

Back from a bagel and a side of bacon, picking up a package and, more importantly, the two important envelopes, so don't have to worry about THAT. Fell asleep and now I'll try do some writing. The Darling Daughter is coming tomorrow.

Thanks, Jane! Me, too.

Thanks all for the travel vibes.

Thanks, DR Jane. I am now reading the Louise Penny book #2.

Loved her in everything. She did a miniseries backed on Conrad Richter's The Awakening Land, which I loved.
-
Bruce, nice photo from yesterday's lunch.
I agree. I meant to post that earlier. Thanks for sharing.
-
DR John I hope you like HORSE even if you find it depressing.
I did. It was excellent, but it was hard to get through certain parts.
-
I'm reading something much lighter now. It's called The Printed Letter Bookshop by Katherine Reay. And I'm falling into a good groove with it.
-
First time donating to the library. Process is very simple.
Wow, 1st time.
It certainly won't be the last.

Gratuitous post 99!

Home from a long but fun night of dancing.

True, but expected considering the subject.

Watching a Western called Broken Lance, which I think I saw just a few years ago. But I remember nothing about it. Great cast. Spencer Tracy, Robert Wagner, Richard Widmark, Hugh O'Brien, Earl Holliman and Katy Jurado, who was nominated for an Oscar. E.G. Marshall is in a small role, and Jean Peters is the leading lady.
-
Mega vibes for TCB!

The new vacuum was put to use today. Only did a small area, but I had to empty the canister once.

I plan to go over the same area again tomorrow.

I'm reading Jim Butcher's newest Harry Dresden novella called "The Law."

Got an interesting CD from the library today that I'm looking forward to listening to. Pianist Mitsuko Uchida is playing Beethoven's variations on a waltz by Diabelli. I had never heard of it before. Should be fun.
-
And this is the temperature up in my bedroom as of 14 minutes ago or so:

Also got something called Max Richter: The New Four Seasons, Vivaldi Recomposed. Only this is the recomposed version of Richter's recomposition.

Fortunately, I have a couple of fans blowing on my, so I'm not horribly uncomfortable.

Woody Allen's new book, Zero Gravity, also arrived.

Very warm, but not uncomfortable.

Originally the weather service had said that after another 90 degree day tomorrow, the temperature was going to drop into the 70’s on Monday and Tuesday. Now they are saying that Monday and Tuesday will be in the 80’s.

That makes more sense.

Good night, George.
