Well, you've read the notes, the notes put the blame on Mame, and now it is time for you to post until the blamed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INSPIRATION!
-
Blame it on the summer night.
Great song from “Rags”.
-
TOD
Social media, texting, online narcissism, lack of communication skills, isolation, all leading to a general lack of empathy and not living in the real world.
Lots of good people of that generation, of course, but the way we communicate has changed, and not for the better.
-
I love the group Anonymous.
-
They have helped Ukraine by hacking into Russian security systems, and other beneficial activities.
Fun to follow them to see what they come up with next.
-
Good night.
Sweet dreams.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, buttercup.
-
It's a tough life; today is back to work.
-
;D
-
I blame it on Mame.
-
Re: the TOD. I do wonder about the contemporary state of parenting. I don't see a lot of it going on; at least in public. The impulse-challenged kids seem to be running the show.
-
Good morning, all!
-
All was good until 3:00a.m. or so and the lastv two hours were pure hell with a French carol running over and over and over and over and . . . Nothing I did could make it go away.
-
I worked too hard yesterday, so today I am doing little as possible. Someone's coming by to check out the base of my toilet, but that's it.
-
Dear Lurker Iris, you're in Maryland? I thought you were in New York!
-
I liked both DR Singdaw's and Dear Lurker Iris' thoughts on the TOD.
-
You know what day it is, folks.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
Maybe it’s as simple as human nature. Some people will abuse every freedom they’re given, no matter who it hurts. Just because they can.

Sorry I completely disagree with your thesis, there are reprehensible people in every generation, there is nothing particularly terrible about children of the 90’s.
-
I blame it on Mame.
Is that because she coaxed the blues out of the horn?
-
Good morning to all
-
Just want to add some info about probiotics from Sunday’s postings.
When considering a probiotics chose one that is inside a capsule because one’s that are just pills will not get pass the stomach because of the acids. The ones inside a capsule will make its way into the colon after its dissolved.

TOD:
It all has to do with the technological leaps of the past 30 years and the lack of parental discipline/teaching. Morals are constantly challenged, as are laws regarding public behavior. Anything for a laugh seems to be all right.
I have been around a lot of very talented and polite young people since retiring here in johnston. Their parents set the example because THEIR parents set the example.
Life is more laid back here, and older values are still practiced and cherished. It's quite plain to see on TV that it is not the case in areas densely populated.
-
I blame it on Mame.
Is that because she coaxed the blues out of the horn?
I think it's because she made the cotton easy to pick.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A busy day today, so I shall be flitting about.
-
Well.....working on the details.....I am not sure this hat will ever be finished.....but on we go.
DR ELMORE right now our orchestra is three pieces:
Piano, stool, and cover.
-
Not sure I will be back today....we shall see.

Wordle: 6/6

From DR Jennifer:
I use both libby and overdrive. I prefer overdrive. But my main issue with libby is that you can't recommend books through the app. But you can through overdrive.
I will miss not having that option. Just before reading this I was about to recommend a book and didn't, wondering if it would be useless to do so. I am glad I didn't bother.
-
From Jennifer:
I think that you should get the app now and just get used to it. Even if you still use overdrive. You can connect them together. Libby does make it easier to view the newly added books.
Do you mean new books to the library I might want or the books I added to my account and checked out?
I was concerned if I added the Libby app I would lose my OverDrive. I will likely downloaded sooner than later. Thanks.
-
From DR John:
So, everyone here prefers OverDrive, so, of course, that’s the one they’re getting rid of.
::) >:(
The video I turned off yesterday kept scrolling through all the different categories I could browse looking for books. My eyes prefer to browse on a computer screen.
-
From Jennifer:
I think that it's older. I mostly just prefer it because of being able to suggest books months in advance (that i then get put to the front of the line). And i do also find the fonts and choices to read a bit better on overdrive.
Older, however, they have made updates for the years that have improved it.
Oh no, I hope I don't have an issue with the fonts, not with my eyes hurting all the time. Now I am concerned when I adjust the brightness it will be too bright at night. I do hope that hasn't changed.
-
From John:
As long as I can still get my books through it, I guess I'll survive.
True, at least I hope so ;)
-
George I do understand Libby is just a new name for OverDrive, still it is different and requires work to change over all of my devices.
-
From George:
I download it and right away check IN the item on my library's OverDrive site so that it becomes available for the next patron, BUT it doesn't go away from my Kindle! It's called "working the system." ;)
:D Working the system and being considerate to others at the same time.
-
I know, right?
-
I hear you!
-
I guess you're not going here, then.

Annabelle will still want to play Grizabella and sing "Memory."
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
Darling Daughter will be here at two.
-
Vixmom, it's fine to disagree. I included the 90s because of this guy, even though he was actually born prior to that. And I said clearly it's not all young people, but especially from 2000 on, this is what I've seen.
-
Giving more thought to today’s TOD:
I think that certain reality tv shows have had a negative impact on real life behavior and values.
-
Not everyone watches the Kardashians, Real Housewives, Jersey Shore and Honey Boo Boo, of course.
-
However, the fact that young people idolize and imitate these reality tv stars has not been healthy for them, or for society in general.
-
Or, have I simply turned into a curmudgeon?
😜
-
DR Elmore, I was living in California and New York until March of 2020.
Ended up living near my family in Maryland when Covid hit.
I still have a place in New York, and hope to spend more time there in the future.
I miss California, but I have no desire to go back to flying on a regular basis in this lifetime.
-
Not sure what to think about this new production of CATS.
ALW can’t seem to move on, can he?
-
MEOW.
😁
-
Bruce, it’s so nice that you’re getting a chance to spend time with your DD.
I miss that so much, and it’s the main reason that I have decided to stay on the East Coast.
My daughter and her husband have permanently settled in Brooklyn.
-
Wishing everyone a lovely afternoon and evening.

Two days in a row, nice. How long will she be in town?

Darling Daughter has come and gone. We lunched at Art's Deli.
-
Now, back to writing episode ten, which I actually haven't written any of save for the beginnings of two new songs. But I think I'll write the opening of the episode that will get us to where we're going for the majority of the episode.
-
Darling Daughter has come and gone. We lunched at Art's Deli.
Nice, and yum.

TOD:
Maybe it’s as simple as human nature. Some people will abuse every freedom they’re given, no matter who it hurts. Just because they can.
And the internet offers new ways for people to be scum.
-
Look at all the old people, such as our ex-president, who are scum.
-
Agreed, Jane.
And thank you! 🥰
-
Love Singdaw’s 3 story house.
😂
-
I have fond memories of Art’s Deli. It’s in Studio City, right?
-
I think my DVD player is dying.
-
I know my laptop is dying.
-
My favorite deli was Nate’n Al’s when I lived in L.A.
-
And my fridge.
-
Art’s Deli should open a second location in San Antonio.
-
I also loved a long gone deli in Santa Monica by the name of Zucky’s.
Enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the characters who frequented the place.
-
DR John, my freezer gave up the ghost tonight.
-
It’s the Zombie Attack Of The Appliances!
-
DR John, my freezer gave up the ghost tonight.
I’m sorry. Did you lose a lot of food?
-
Thank goodness, no.
But I faced an icy flood in my kitchen.
Took me 3 hours to mop up.
-
It’s the Zombie Attack Of The Appliances!
Look out! Look out! Look out! Look out!
-
And I had fortunately polished off the ice cream last night.
-
Eat dessert first.
😋
-
Hope that’s it on the cleanup.
-
DR John, you have great food in San Antonio.
That’s where I tried fajitas for the first time.
-
Starting The Artist’s Wife. Lens Olin and Bruce Dern. Interesting supporting cast including Tonya Pinkins and Stefanie Powers.
-
DR John, you have great food in San Antonio.
That’s where I tried fajitas for the first time.
Yes, but I want more.
-
I loved the River Walk.
-
We all want more.
😊
-
Signing off for now.
Good night, all.
-
My favorite deli was Nate’n Al’s when I lived in L.A.
I grew up eating there.
-
I also loved a long gone deli in Santa Monica by the name of Zucky’s.
Enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the characters who frequented the place.
Keith went there while I went to Nate 'N Al's.
-
Thank goodness, no.
But I faced an icy flood in my kitchen.

Groan.
-
And I had fortunately polished off the ice cream last night.
;D
-
I loved the River Walk.
So did we, as well as the food.
-
Keith is popping corn.
-
'night
-
Popcorn sounds really great.
-
Ah, here we are. At page four. Again.
-
Oy!
-
Page four is a bore.
-
But we always wind up back here.
-
On page four.
-
What else could be in store?
-
Beyond page four.
-
We could do the limbo and wind up on the floor.
-
Or see what's on the other side of the door.
-
OK. FIVE.
-
I'll take FIVE over FOUR.
-
But it's still a long slog.
-
Good night, friends.
-
For George and any other Manhattan Transfer fans.

-
Oh my. Stefanie Powers has a nude scene in The Artist’s Wife that’s unexpected.
-
I think my DVD player is dying.
R.I.P. :(
-
I know my laptop is dying.
R.I.P., too. :(
-
And my fridge.
Yikes! :o What's going on with all your stuff, John??
-
DR John, my freezer gave up the ghost tonight.
NOOO! It's an epidemic!

For George and any other Manhattan Transfer fans.

I saw that! ;D
-
I’d like to see MT on tour again.
-
I have a headache and terrible sore throat
-
The Covid test came back negative
-
Now I have a cough too
-
Feeling miserable
-
I’d like to see MT on tour again.
They came to Seattle last year and I just couldn't make it work to see them. :-\
-
Feeling miserable
I hope you feel better real soon.
-
And thank you, Vixmom, for reminding me to take my weekly test.
-
Just a few more minutes of waiting.
-
Elmore, do you think Annabelle is ready to play Grizabella as a trans person?
-
Negative!
-
On that note, I'm headed for bed.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
The board is behaving quite strangely tonight. It ate two of my posts. Harrrummph!
-
Vixmom, I, too, have a headache and sore throat, but the sore throat is quite mild. Fatigue, no fever. Sambucol has been helping, but I must take it 4x/day.
Vibes you feel better pronto!
-
And vibes that everyone else stays well.
-
When I was at Trader Joe's the other day the employees were wearing masks, but only the Asian customers and myself.
-
Good night.
-
Look at all the old people, such as our ex-president, who are scum.
Gee, Jane, tell us how you really feel!
-
Feel better vibes for Vixmom.
-
Page six.
-
It was very pleasant. Today in Puyallup.
-
It made it to 80 degrees, but no higher.
-
The next two days will be even milder.
-
However, starting on Friday we will be back in the mid to upper eighties.
-
It will be beautiful weather this weekend for the end of Seafair. We have The Blue Angels and the unlimited hydroplane races.
-
Back in the 50’s and the 60’s the hydro races were huge in the Northwest. It has been said that in the 50’s, every kid in the northwest had a hydroplane tied by a string to the back of their bikes.
I know I did.
-
WAKE UP, BK!
-
It made it to 80 degrees, but no higher.
It was quite nice here in Tumwater, too.
-
Good night.
-
However, starting on Friday we will be back in the mid to upper eighties.
Darn.
-
So starting tomorrow, I'll be going to the rehearsals of The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, which opens week from Friday!
-
I'm going to be running the sound board.
-
It's the first co-production between Theater Artists Olympia and Broadway Olympia Productions.
-
We'll be performing in BOP's space at Capital Mall on Olympia's west side.
-
I will have to miss the performance of Saturday, August 13th because my friend Margo and I are going to meet our friend David in Seattle to see the national tour of Hamilton!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I actually went to the space tonight, but it turned out that they weren't rehearsing tonight because it was the birthday of one of the actresses.
-
Good for her, but they didn't tell me that they wouldn't be there! ::)
-
I did get to talk with my friend pug who's directing the show, so that was good...I also got some posters!
-
I'll put up a few around town. :)
-
I was going to usher for Hedwig again on Thursday, but now I'll be at rehearsal.
-
I still need to take myself off the usher list.
-
Also, I did remember to vote today, so that was a good thing.
