Well, you've read the notes, the notes learned a life lesson the hard way, and now it is time for you to post until the hard way cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REMEDY!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR vixmom has turned into a pillar of salt?
-
I think I got that right.
-
If steamed lemon blueberry pudding is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
-
Today's TOD is really thorny and I don't have any answers.
-
For instance, if I know that an actor supports the former president, I find I am not receptive to anything they may be doing or not doing on the screen.
-
Good morning, all!

Yesterday
TCB said
“Oh, I’m so sorry. You are forty-five!”
Tom, if I weren’t already married….

After I posted last night about the day vturning sour, it continued to d just that, building up to a round of nausea, a needed bath, and then cleaning the floor from my bed to the bathroom, followed by mopping the floor. These days my mobility is so precarious and slow that this mess was unavoidable. The cays luckily stayed out of the way, but I've reached the point where I'm really sick of my life and really sick of the anxiety and worry about this damned property sale.

DR vixmom, I think you should haver thrown a bigger fit as soon as tyou saw that idiot bartender pour your drink into the new glass. It should have been thrown out and made from scratch.
-
I'm sorry Liz Cheney lost the electin. These idiot Trumpers getting elected bodes no good for this country, given the examplews of Matt GaetZ, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Josh Hawley, all complete fools with no education who seem to want to be in Congress for the opportunities to validate the bad aspects of incest and ignorance.

I need to deal with this elewvator issue. If I have to cancel tmorrow's lab work, then I need to reschedule as well next week's doctor's appointment.
-
And last night I slept really really poorly. I hate my life.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I find it hard to watch Roman Polanski’s films anymore knowing what a total waste of plasma he is. And I loved Chinatown.
-
I shall return anon.....just detritus.
-
Traffic is so much worse since school started up again. I wish I could just stay home.
-
I need to cancel tomorrow's lab and next week's doctor's appointment since no one seems to know zilchj about this elevator situation. I am so frustrated and pissed off.
-
And work from home, that is. I can’t afford to retire.
-
Good morning, all.

Vibes for DR Elmore, and all who need them!...
Which, as far as I can discern so far this morning (not just here, but everywhere), might be just about everyone.
Is our favorite guest, Mr. Mercury in Retrograde, arriving early?
-
So, El Pollo Loco:
I ignored it for years, until just about my last year in LA, then something inspired me to give it a try. It worked for me, and I had it a few times, but I was ordering inside the store and taking it directly home. It was always fresh, and everything that was supposed to be there was always there. I'm trying to remember what sides I had, and I'm totally blank on that (though corn sounds very likely), but the one thing I know is that the salsa was of critical importance for my taste. I would have been less interested in the chicken without it.
Am I remembering correctly that the chicken was served without the skin? And that their method of preparing or serving it supposedly made it healthier than at most chicken establishments? I forget how they cooked it, and I'm not cheating by looking online. But the salsa and whatever else they had to accompany it was good at the time. That was 33 years ago (!!!), so who knows how accurate my memory is or whether it's changed.
My location was Sunset & La Brea - or something and La Brea, but I'm thinking Sunset. I should just go look now.
-
Bing Maps (which I like for some of the imagery - I use it in addition to Google) doesn't list that location now, but I was right because their streetside view still shows it right there on the NW corner. Those views are usually a couple of years old, which is a godsend when you're looking for something that's gone now.

Good morning!
-
DR vixmom: Belated Happy Birthday greetings! I'm sorry I missed your birthday yesterday.
-
:)
-
TWO!!
-
From DR Vixmom:
(http://I ordered a Jamaican cowboy margarita ( made with rum and peach schanapps) rimmed with sugar)
That sounds good.
-
From Vixmom:
The young bartender trainee rimmed it with salt
:P
-
I sent it back and watched as she took a new glass and rimmed it, then poured my drink…over the salted rim, into the new glass
:o
Not acceptable.
-
The story just kept getting worse.
-
I don't even like salt on a regular margarita as it is too salty for me.
-
Good for Pedro.
-
From DR John:
And I would send it back if it had been rimmed in sugar. Sugar has no place in the same vincinity as a margarita.
Even one made with rum?
-
Vibes for the boss of DR Vixmom.
-
DR TCB I am sorry you have to wait until October for your cataract surgery.
-
From TCB:
Then I watched THE LOST CITY with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. And Daniel Radcliffe as the villain. It was not great, but I found it pretty entertaining. In the middle of the closing credits, they switched to another scene, that made no sense at all.
Yes the added scene was awful.
-
I find it hard to watch Roman Polanski’s films anymore knowing what a total waste of plasma he is. And I loved Chinatown.
Same here.
-
From DR John:
And I would send it back if it had been rimmed in sugar. Sugar has no place in the same vincinity as a margarita.
Even one made with rum?
That’s not a margarita. An abomination, maybe. But not a margarita.
-
Insert smugly superior face here.
-
I’m not a big rum fan. So, it is what it is.
-
Then you wouldn't make a very good pirate, DR John G. :P
-
Which might not be a bad thing.
-
It will be hard waiting a few weeks to find out if Sarah Palin has a chance of sitting in Congress.
-
Good morning.
-
The elevator is running again. Contrary to what I had heard, the roofing crew was not responsible. It was a sock that had gotten stuck between the doors. I guess someone who was doing laundry is responsible.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings!
The elevator is running again. Contrary to what I had heard, the roofing crew was not responsible. It was a sock that had gotten stuck between the doors. I guess someone who was doing laundry is responsible.
Hope this means things are beginning to look up for you, dear DR Elmore!
-
Then you wouldn't make a very good pirate, DR John G. :P
No. But I love the movie, The Pirate. The Nicholas Brothers, Judy and Gene. Cole Porter songs.

That’s where lost socks go!

Looking forward to the work day ending.

;D
So the bartender should not have had a problem using sugar, which goes better with rum IMHO, instead of salt ;)

Our building roof is being cleaned. There is lots of debris on the ground now, mostly dirt, but what baffles me is the drink can. How did that get on the roof ;D

I’m two-thirds into Nightcrawling. Meh. It’s good and not at the same time.
-
I find it hard to believe the novel made it to the long list for the Man Booker Prize.
-
It’s about an undereducated girl from Oakland who becomes a prostitute. She narrates. At times, she talks street. At times, she belabors descriptions, like that of the nondescript police station. She’s never been there, or much of any place before, but she has a grandiloquent vocabulary to describe its dullness.
-
It’s supposedly based on a true story.
-
I’ll finish, but …
-
A lemon bar with a little extra pucker to it.
-
Pot pie du jour.
That is pretty. What is inside?
-

IMHO it sounds like a Booker book. I found not to rush to read those prize winning books.

I'll have what he's having!
-
Good night, friends.

Again, I came to post when I got up, had to deal with a few things, forgot, and had to hurry to make a lunch meeting. Came home, and telephonic conversations ensued and then I just sat on my couch like so much fish. So, point: I'm up.
-
I've written a few private messages on Facebook to people I'd like to use in the web series - and they don't respond. You know, they get notified when there's a PM, that's how it works. I will never understand people. I mean, I'd understand if they hadn't posted in a week or two, but when there are posts from a few minutes before, well - and then I post on their wall to check their PMs. Nothing. On to the next.
-
Pot pie du jour.

Chicken.

Back to Renoir in French and Portuguese.

It helps to have read the novel the movie’s based on.

Hello, 1 guest!

Can you dance the Malarkey?

Casting vibes for BK.

I went to Costco for a shelfing unit for the garage. It was $109.
-
Next to it was a shelf the same size and equally sturdy for $46.
-
Guess which one I bought. I want three but I only bought one.
-
Let me assemble this one, then I’ll see about the other two.
-
They also had jeans on sale for $10 a pair.
-
I got one of those as well.
-
Grandiloquent post 101!
-
Milquetoast post 102!
-
The Renoir film, Night at the Crossroads, has a good sense of humor. The only problem is Renoir’s brother is a dull Maigret.
-
And that's enough of me tonight.
-
Good night, all.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?

Finished with my viewing.

With my viewing i'm finished.

I wish we were finished with page four.

33 years ago? No wonder BK’s chicken was so nasty!
-
DR TCB I am sorry you have to wait until October for your cataract surgery.
I am not having cataract surgery. I had that ten years ago. This is the first of two plastic surgeries on my eyelids. This first surgery is on my lower lids, and the second one will be on the upper lids.
-
Then you wouldn't make a very good pirate, DR John G. :P
No. But I love the movie, The Pirate. The Nicholas Brothers, Judy and Gene. Cole Porter songs.
To hell with the margarita. That movie is an abomination.
-
Isn’t this Wednesday? What happened to ASK BK DAY?
-
Guess which one I bought. I want three but I only bought one.
The expensive one, because that is the one your next door neighbors, the Jones, bought.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
That was my next question.
-
What happened to the posting today?
-
Is everyone boycotting today because it isn’t ASK BK DAY?
-
Well, we are almost finished wiTh page four.
-
This is the last post.
-
Page five!
-
Page 5? Really?
-
What happened to George?
-
He was signed on when I signed on.
-
Tonight I was watched ANYTHING GOES.
-
Correction: Tonight I watched the first act of ANYTHING GOES.
-
I thought Sutton Foster was good, but I liked the title song’s choreography better in the Broadway production.
-
And the sailors were better looking.
-
And I didn’t care for the actor playing Billy Crocker.
-
Not personally, because I don’t know the man. I didn’t care for his performance.
-
It is midnight.
-
It is hard to type when you are a pumpkin.
-
So, good night.
-
What happened to George?
He was signed on when I signed on.
I fell asleep, yet again. ::)
-
You'd think that I'd just sign off and go to sleep like a normal person...but NO!
-
I have to fall asleep while doing stuff on my computer.
-
Page five? Really?
-
George fell asleep again, woke up, then what?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
They just are.
-
And then I wrote...
-
Why I oughta...
-
Get off my lawn!
-
Get off my cloud.
-
In other news, we're still on page five.
-
And apparently there will be no changing that.
-
Because sleepyhead went away somewhere.
-
I, on the other hand, am here, bright and bushy-tailed.
-
I do believe page five is gaslighting me.
-
Because surely we should be on page six by now.
