Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no druthers for the brothers, and now it is time for you to post until the druther brothers cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHARISMA!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR TCB - I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. So thank you for your service.
-
;D

:)

Wow. The New York Times REALLY didn't like Jared's new book. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Good morning, all!

Good morning Elmore
-
Vibes the day brings you only good news
-
I slept well until some time around 3:30, and then it all went to hell. I did have a strange dream about a nightclub in Miami. I don't know if I were the owner, a patron, or performer. The lead siger was completely inept with horrible band arrangements, so bad it was funny, and there were several shady gangster types. I have no idea what it was all about.
-
I am home today, hoping to get the last section of the overture under control.
-
I don’t think I have any plans at all for this weekend
-
Hmmmm
-
DR singdaw, thanks for posting rthe review of Jared's book. I had heard it was a bad one, but it was so much worse than I could have imagined. I loved it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept well. Dreams about reaching stars.
-
OMG, the humidity is impossible today. Jusr siotting here and eating my cereal, I am drenched in sweat. Where's the Starbuck to bring us some rain ASAP?
-
Kitty cleanup is over. I have at the moment no urge to rise, make the bed, or take the garbager to the basement.
-
LOL!
-
Saw lightning last night, but no rain at the house. Bummer. Hope it rained somewhere in the area.
-
Good morning, all.

LOL!
Just saw that a few weeks ago. One of the very best.
DR Elmore, do you know the Facebook page, "Cats are Assholes"? :)

Lordy. Nothing, as of yet.

Wordle: 6/6

Friday! Our penultimate performance. Still down 2 actors....but we are moving along.
Everyone has lots of enthusiasm and fun and that translates to the audience. I give a few notes each night to keep them on their toes...and they take to them like a ducks to water.
-
What's really great is that we are outselling OLIVER! whose director proclaimed it the "best show EVER" at our theeder and the most popular with the populace.
She was in the box office the other day studying the attendance sheets - I hope she noticed even CLUE: ONSTAGE outsold her opus.
-
The trouble makers and pot stirrers are attending tonight - so have fun, folks.

Wow. The New York Times REALLY didn't like Jared's new book. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
I read the beginning of something that hinted he wasn't kind to Trump. I expect it was a teaser to get people to read the article or buy the book.
-
I did not read the article.
-
Of course I have no plans to buy the book.

But, but, but why not?

This could be fun.

I referred to this a day or two ago, but so has BK, and in my situation it's ongoing.
I truly can't get over how HORRIBLE so many people are at responding to messages - whether in email, texts, FB Messenger (which I really don't like to use anyway), or you name it - within a reasonable time frame.
When and where did they learn this disregard? Man, I can't let people dangle in the breeze, waiting for a response from me on something, EVER. It just doesn't happen. I couldn't sleep if I did that. I can't even picture myself in the shoes of someone who just ..... ignores. How do they do that? What are they thinking?
-
I have seen this more and more too, DR ChasSmith. It's utterly baffling.
-
Well, this is interesting...One of the world's largest moths detected for the first time in U.S., officials say. (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna43690)
The moth, with a wingspan of 10 inches, was spotted in Washington state.

Of course I have no plans to buy the book.

It seems one copy would have been enough. How many did they purchase?
-
Just a jury duty notice in the mail today.
-
Good afternoon.
-
JohnG., I refer to those as audition notices for the role of Reluctant Juror.

I ignore messages from people I do not with to interact with.

Yup. My friend got cast in the role recently. It was a case against a man accused of sexually abusing a child repeatedly over multiple years. He got 50 years. She was glad to see justice done. But she’s still upset over the case itself.
-
The day just went crazy. As in guano everywhere.
-
I ignore messages from people I do not with to interact with.
Oh, I do, too. These don't fall into that category at all. They are ongoing discussions with people who are friends or are very friendly associates and there are things we're working out. But...good news: ONE JUST RESPONDED! He'd been away enjoying some vacation for a few days and he apologized profusely for the delay. But it totally figures that he would apologize, because that isn't like him at all.
One of the others is the owner of a business. Very nice guy and all that, but he already has a reputation with me for being slow to respond with followup, or when you need some clarification on something. And yet he's very much in the "public eye" among people like me who are his clients and who work with what he produces. I sometimes wonder if others experience the same thing, but nobody wants to raise a stink in a public forum and make things even more difficult for themselves. It's just bewildering.
-
Of course I have no plans to buy the book.
A co-worker told me that she just processed the copies that were purchased for the library. ::)

Only 4 copies...and right now, there are only 6 holds.
-
Also, no ebook copies were ordered...so far, at least.

I think that is a lot of books. I suppose they were expecting a best seller.

Interesting.

Interesting.
If the title is metered, meaning it's a license with a limited number of check-outs or a limited amount of time, our selector is reluctant to purchase those unless there is a great demand, and 6 holds is not a great demand.
-
From the library order list:
Because I Could Not Stop for Death: An Emily Dickinson Mystery
I just don’t know.

It isn't. I would have expected one eBook and one hard cover. Does limited amount of time mean the book is purchased for lending for x amount of days and then a new one needs to be purchased?
-
Happy notes are not sounding for Placido Domingo right now.
-
This is the Trump-endorsed woman who won Liz Cheney's bid for Congress this week.

If you saw this at a yard sale, would you buy it?

Yes, usually either one year or 26 checkouts (whichever comes first), or two years or 52 checkouts.
-
Heard back from both people. I'd written a mutual friend of one of the people and asked what was what, and within five minutes of sending that the person finally responded. The other person responded, too - not sure it's gonna work with either of 'em but at least I got the response.
-
Picked up a small package and an envelope - not the important envelope, but the check from Vitello's, which I must say was double what I was expecting and which almost covered the entire cast and pianist fees.
-
Now, I'm going to eat two tuna sandwiches and I don't care who knows it.
-
I just checked and the e-book (OverDrive Read and epub only, no Kindle), has a 26-checkout license.
-
The downloadable talking book is one checkout/user, no limits. Neither will be released until the 23rd...and they're both in "pending" carts for my library so the selector has selected them for purchase.
-
The second response just came in!!
See? I told you the floodgates would open once the first one broke through.
It's not the irritating business guy, but the universe's policy is never to let me have that one without putting me through the wringer.
-

Maybe I’m old fashioned but if I need to get an answer from someone I call them.
I likewise advise people who need to reach me urgently to call

I should never scan my email subjects when I am in pain.
I read this one as:

TOD:
I'm looking forward to the next episode of BORGEN.
I've been watching more DARBY AND JOAN and I do like it. The writing is quite good, the leads are both strong and work well together, and there are some nice nuances. On Acorn TV.
-
Today was kosher acupuncture, then a trip to the salad/juice/sandwich/soup bar (not kosher).
-
DR Chas, I hope you're not referring to all those emails I receive from candidates I never heard of. I don't respond to most of them. ;D
-
Wow. The New York Times REALLY didn't like Jared's new book. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
My reaction, too. But he HAD to capitalize on his White House years and he certainly couldn't piss off Trump, so major sanitation was needed. The question is how much of it does he believe.
-
Show vibes to Jrand & company.

Property sale vibes to Elmore.
Health and happiness vibes to all.

Holy moly.
The pain in the ASS response just came in, too.
(He said he sent it two days ago, and "maybe it went to spam". Well, I can't claim that's impossible, so, so be it.)
The most important thing: he sent me exactly what I had been expecting (finally) and it even works like it should (finally). Finally! :)
-
DR TCB, does that news mean that the next step is...they'll fix it?

Also, no ebook copies were ordered...so far, at least.

I remember reading publishers wanted to do this, not that it actually happened.

I am glad you got a diagnosis. The pain doctor could have just said he didn't know what it was.

I prefer to call it a pinched nerve.
I had that in my neck with the pain running down my arm. It never reached my had like you are experiencing. It was horrible. I went to PT for a long while.

For the first time in ages we went out to dinner locally.

We just went to Beaches.

Sounds nice, DR Jane.

I'm sure that that has nothing to do with why the publishers choose to sell it as a metered title. OverDrive doesn't make that decision, if I remember correctly.

Great picture, John.
-
Starting to watch a war drama called Confirm or Deny. Don Ameche and Joan Bennett are a reporter and the woman out to censor his stories.
-
Seems escapist enough for this late in the evening.
-
onward!
-
Six!
-
Well, the show is going well!
-
Hi, George.
-
We had only 7 seats left to sell to any walk-up!
-
Hi, John.
-
I did set off one light/sound cue early, but in this show, it works. ;D
-
After tonight's show, we're having a cast party.
-
That'll be fun. :)
-
I'll be out late, so don't ask where I am!
-
...this time. ::)
-
;)
-
Enjoy the cast party!
-
Cassis.....I haven't thought of that in a long time.
-
Confirm or Deny turned out to be a nifty escape. Roddy McDowall was wonderful as a child of the streets doing his part for the war effort. Eric Blore was his usual wonderful self and actually changed his character slightly so that he, too, ended up doing his part for the war effort.
Joan Bennett wasn't wearing Hedy Lamarr's old hair in this one. She was made up to look like Myrna Loy.
-
Well the sold out show was very good tonight - probably the best the cast has had.
The audience wasn't very laugh conscious, but the applauded and there was a full standing ovation from the beginning of the bows.
-
Starting to watch a documentary called Calendar Girl. It's about Ruth Finley, who ran New York Fashion Week's calendar until she was 95 years old. So many fashion designers, so many people in the industry sign the praises of this tiny woman. And she's a treasure on her own. So glad that she's getting the tribute she earned.
-
Well the sold out show was very good tonight - probably the best the cast has had.
The audience wasn't very laugh conscious, but the applauded and there was a full standing ovation from the beginning of the bows.
Congratulations.
-
At the end of intermission - which ran over by 2 minutes because ladies were taking their time in the restroom.....I gave the standby to go.....and turned off the lobby lights....and a girl in her twenties came out of the theatre and headed for the restroom.
I held.....but after nearly two minutes there was no sign of her returning to her seat.....I was ready to give the go anyway when Granny came out with her cane and headed for the restroom....
I was afraid to let her try to find her seat in the dark.....going up the steps etc.....because the first scene in Act Two is in low light....
So I waited another almost TWO minutes and still no sign of either of them......so now we are almost 20 minutes into a 15 minute intermission.
I look in at the audience and of course they are restless and looking at their watches.....so I take the stage and say there is a small delay...does anyone have any questions.
I channeled my inner BK and kept them amused for another five minutes before both ladies finally returned to their seats.
It was NOT something I want to do again.
-
I'm going to heading to bed soon.
-
End of story except for new theeder edict: Poop at home.
-
Oh the house lights had already been flashed twice as well.
-
And now I am going to have some vodka and cranberry juice and go to bed.
-
Enjoy the cast party!
Thanks, John! I did!
-
We went to the home of the stage manager and her partner, who is one of the actors (they're not married ;) ) and we essentially had two groups: one in the kitchen around all the food, and the other was outside doing the doob.
-
I did not partoke.
-
Well the sold out show was very good tonight - probably the best the cast has had.
The audience wasn't very laugh conscious, but the applauded and there was a full standing ovation from the beginning of the bows.
Congrats to you and the Joseph cast, Jrand!

Yikes! :o
-
Tonight's show went quite well, but one guy got up and left during the show not once, not twice, but count 'em, THREE times!
-
We didn't know if he REALLY had to pee, or if he was triggered by something in the show. ::)
-
But even though he was not sitting on the aisle, he was close to it, and was fairly quiet coming in an out of the theater...so he didn't distract the actors or other audience members too much.
