Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no nausea, and now it is time for you to post until the nauseating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: XENIAL!
-
Who is Amanda Kruger?
-
My pain level yesterday was much lower than the days before.
-
I guess that happens when you are a year older.
-
Topic of the Day:
June Anderson
Kathleen Battle
Julia Migenes
Heidi Grant Murphy
Teresa Stratas

Oh, George and Jane; Sharry’s dog Fraser is doing better.

Who is Amanda Kruger?
Here's their IMDb bio (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3399414/):
Amanda is a non binary actor, singer, and activist. Passionate about visibility and inclusion, they are eager to break down gender barriers and have often sought to encourage productions to look past the binary. Born in Vermont, Amanda ultimately grew up all over New England. They have worked as a professional Wrangler at the HF Bar Ranch in Saddlestring, Wyoming, continuing their work with horses in Los Angeles training and rehabilitating rescue horses. Amanda has booked television roles in the CW's 90210 and Nick Jr.'s The Fresh Beat Band. They have continued to perform regularly in theatre at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Feliz, both Edinburgh and NYC Fringe festivals , and the world tour of new musical, Land of Smiles.

That's great, Tom!

Oh, George and Jane; Sharry’s dog Fraser is doing better.
That's also very good news!

BK, I have started to use a different mail-in-meals program called Real Eats. Did you ever try that one?

See. I would have already pissed her off because I asked “Who is” rather than, “Who are”

But you would have pissed them off even more by referring to them as "her." ::)

I think I will read for a little while, until I get tired. Good night, George.
Good night, Tom. And hopefully, the pain becomes even less painful!
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!

Good early morning to all
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I understand why people want their pronouns. But my old-fashioned brain is having a hard time adjusting. Not for any political reason.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did not sleep badly last night, but I was very restless, andb Annabelle and Thatch stayed away. Stella was with me most of the night. I think I've pulled a back muscle, and that luckily did not interfere with my sleep.
-
DR TCB, I'm happy the pain level was less. I hope this trend continues. I think the Washington AG needs to investigate your pain clinic for fraud.
-
Glad to hear you were doing a bit better yesterday, DR TCB.
-
I am disappointed that DR vixmom did not win the lottery.
-
The mailman won the lottery.
-
Isn't that a line from Assassins?
-
DR singdaw, I'm with you on pronouns, which I find a very strange trend over the past couple of years.
-
You have to draw the line somewhere.

Harold drew a line with his purple crayon.

Three days ago I submitted a review for 'Tis the Season to be Murdered. Amazon still hjasn't posted it.
WTF?

And look where that got him.

If my information is correct, today is the day the City of Middletown arm wrestles with our potential property buyers. Keep those good wishes coming!

Please take that under advisement.

I think I have found my book book to write. It’s set in Scotland (as was The Second Chances Bookshop and Diary of a Bookseller). It must involve someone inheriting property where they don’t live (see most). Their personal life is at a crossroads. They have to bring life back to something while it brings life back to them. The twist this time will be it’s a children’s bookstore. And it’ll be titled The Wee Bairn Book Barn.
-
I have too much free time.
-
Forgive the pronouns. I haven’t figured out male or female yet.
-
For the main character, that is.
-
Wonder how many times I will have to restart my laptop today.
-
It’s taking its time this morning just logging on.
-
Maybe the internal hamster that runs it is groggier than I am.

I hope that the Wee Bairn Book Barn will be situated in Bonnyrigg, Bathgate, or Blantyre.

I am worried about our DR TCB.

Wish there was something I could do.

I am eating oatmeal that is probably about 5 years past its "best by" date.

Which may be why it tastes a bit funny.

But I'm sure it won't be harmful.
-
If it is harmful, I'll be an armful.
-
I'll bet Sondheim never thought of that one.
-
Thankfully.
-
But it's a real nice day for a clambake.

If you see someone without a
clew clam, give them one of yours.

I just did a bit of reading on how the term "clam" came to be associated with a missed or flubbed note. It's kind of fun.

If you see someone without a clew clam, give them one of yours.
I often carry extra clams for that very reason.

I looked that up once, and now of course I completely forget what I learned. But I love it. I only know a couple of musicians around here who use the term occasionally, and I always enjoy it.

My take on pronouns:
If someone is speaking to me, they would say "You." If someone is talking about me (which would likely be outside my presence), said person would use "she" or "her." I wouldn't be aware of which pronouns were being used.

Also, I see people putting their preferred pronouns with their Zoom names.

Feel better vibes for DR TCB.

Kind of a quiet day today - so far - and that's OKAY!
I have to write the article for the website about The Miracle Worker....but that won't take too long.....just so many names!
-
DR Iris, I am sorry about your ignored construction hours and inconsiderate neighbors. Here people are warned, and then fined.
-
From Iris:
I will look into Glycine.
I still think it has helped, yet I was awake last night between 2:00 & 5:00. At least I slept until 7:45 which is late for me.
-
DR Singdaw I don't think it can hurt.
-
From TCB:
You know, I am wondering if that is the confusion around my doctors. Dr. McCaleb was shocked when I said that the doctor at the pain clinic didn’t order x-rays for the pain in my hand. I am going to a “pain clinic” and he is thinking it more like the PB&J that Iris was talking about.
Can you communicate on-line with your doctor? Be sure to let him know exactly what they do there and ask about seeing a physiatrist.
-
From TCB:
...and all anyone could talk about was how far away my house was.
;D

My pain level yesterday was much lower than the days before.

Thursday afternoon greetings! It been an exciting day here. Back in late April we ordered ourselves new recliners for the family room. We were told it would be 8-10 months, so we were hoping to have them by Christmas. Well, they were delivered today at 8am and we’ve spent the day putting the room back together and bonding with our new chairs.
-
We also took a little trip to Lebanon (Ohio) to the dealership where I bought my car 3 years ago. Both remotes for my keyless entry and ignition were being temperamental, but new batteries in both have me back in business - no charge.
-
No word from Ohio, I don't even know if the Big Conference took place.

Where has DR RONPULLIAM been?
I wish I knew.
Life has been odd lately.
-
I had the oddest dream last night.
I was running late for school...high school. My dad had taken my keys from me for getting a speeding ticket in my truck. Without the truck, I had to take the bus. But...the bus came early and I was late. So, I went to my office (yes, the one I had in Oakland), and learned I had a training session away from work.
I had no means of transportation. But, I thought I could talk my dad into giving me back my keys, so I got in an elevator to go down to the lobby, but ended up going up to the top floor. The descent was painfully slow. Slow to the point of realizing I would not only be late getting to my training session but that I would have to skip school
I awoke in a sweat.
Surely misery and malice will plague me all the days of my life!!!

Wow! Gratuitous Post #200!!

That's so cute!

Back from the lunch meeting - mediocre food, but nice meeting. Turns out this PR person went to high school with me in my graduating class, although I didn't know her. Small world, isn't it?
Pretty cool!

That's great! ;D

My friend Margo had a Honda Odyssey for years and I never thought of that.
-
How about a new word that is a combination of him & her, such as "herm"
There already are many other options (https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/gender-neutral-pronouns) (this link is to just one of many lists). But I would highly discourage something like "herm." To me, it sounds like it's short for "hermaphrodite (https://isna.org/faq/hermaphrodite/)," which is really not preferred anymore.
-
I understand why people want their pronouns. But my old-fashioned brain is having a hard time adjusting. Not for any political reason.
Same here, though I don't understand why they expect people to find this easy.
It's not really that difficult. You really only have to worry about it if you know that their preferred pronouns are not the usual he or she, and you're talking to them. Otherwise, it's just business as usual. :)
And also remember they have a pronoun. Maybe I will copy Freyja and just call everyone "person" ;)
Mandarin has no gendered pronouns. My friend Joy always mixes up he and she. It took me 20 years to figure out why.
My mom is German and their articles are gendered, so all cats are "she" and all dogs are "he" to her.
That can be confusing-lol

:)) I didn't think of that. :))

I think of "guys", in a group gathering, as being generic, and having been so for many years now.
I did notice the last one was what Freyja says, "person" ;)

I think I have found my book book to write. It’s set in Scotland (as was The Second Chances Bookshop and Diary of a Bookseller). It must involve someone inheriting property where they don’t live (see most). Their personal life is at a crossroads. They have to bring life back to something while it brings life back to them. The twist this time will be it’s a children’s bookstore. And it’ll be titled The Wee Bairn Book Barn.
I'm intrigued with the idea of inheriting property where you don't live. Despite being used before, I feel it has plenty of life left. I'd happily read another book with that theme.
I may have to write. Except I haven’t been to Scotland.

Watching a German limited series on Netflix - interesting so far, with a terrific lead actress - very Elizabeth Moss-esque.
-
Almost finished with The Littlest Library. The biggest flaw of the book is that the lead character hasn't read anything over the course of the novel. She's read everything already that she hands out, but she never reads anything. But she gets after people who don't read.
-
Nice to be on page eight!
-
Room 222 post!

The library’s push for its app has a familiar look to it.

I have been watching the US Open tennis qualification matches and some of the Little League World Series games.....all most entertaining.
Me, too. Well, tennis. I was amazed to see Tracy Austin's son in the qualifying rounds. How can she have a son when, to my mind, she's still 16??????

It's about thirty minutes early.....but the new and improved Jrand72 has arrived.
-
Anybody need mothballs?
-
Happy birthday, DR JRand72!
-
Year of the Tiger, baby!
-
Good night, all.
-
Tonight's The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong went quite well...all things considered.
-
Michael took over Marko's role and nailed it.
-
He, of course, had a different take on the character.
-
Both actors essentially played the roles as themselves.
-
::)
-
But it all works, so the audience thoroughly enjoyed Michael and the play itself.
-
All scripted mistakes happened as they were supposed to.
-
And a very good time was had by all!
-
After the show, I went shopping at the local Fred Meyer.
-
Then I came home and had some leftover Salisbury steaks that weren't too bad.

I am confused. Why has Jrand71 has become Jrand72 a day early?? Oh, never mind. It is that damn time zone!

Except theaters are putting pronouns in their cast lists and Who’s who.x. That is making everyone aware of it.
