Well, you've read the notes, the notes beheld beauty and an eye, and now it is time for you to post until the beautiful cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AMENDATORY!
-
From last night: Tom, no. ::)
-
She used to be the property manager of the condo complex where I live, and we've been friends since I moved here. She now lives in a different unit than she used to, and it's closer to my place, so we just see each other a lot more...so, nothing more than that.
-
Just asking.🥰
-
I keep forgetting to mention that Jason Graae wished me a Happy Bitrthday on Facebook.
-
When I thanked him I told him I was honored.

I keep forgetting to mention that Jason Graae wished me a Happy Bitrthday on Facebook.
Cool!
-
Oh well, I guess I am talking to myself. So, good night.
-
Good night, Tom.

Today's going to be a day for me. A cast member is having a cast/going away party at his place. He's moving down to California fairly soon, so it's his goodbye to the area. Then, a coworker is getting married, so I'll go to her wedding before tonight's show, then we'll have tonight's last Saturday performance! We have a matinee tomorrow, then a very simple strike, then the show is over!
-
This is The Summer Of George!
-
A Seinfeld reference. 😊
-
TCB, I found the name of a physiatrist in your area.
Let me know if you’re interested.
-
Still hoping that Elmore’s Ohio property will sell soon.
I really don’t understand why certain people are making it so difficult.
It almost feels as though they enjoy the Sturm und Drang.
-
Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing weekend!

Oh, the TOD.
I saw The Exorcist at least 75 times.
I was working at the movie theater where it was first released.
So much pea soup.
-
Others:
Poltergeist
Rosemary’s Baby
-
Nightmare City for me.
I try to avoid that genre.
-
Nightmare City is not a film.
Nightmares plague me after watching movies like that.
I have a vivid imagination.
-
DR Laura, how far North did you travel?
When I lived in Arizona, even Flagstaff was way too hot for me.
The sun is so strong.
Pinetop was cooler, as I recall.

Hello, 2 guests.

Good morning, friends.

I think I was one of the Guests.

Guest no more!

Now I am a full-fledged poster!

TCB, osso buco literally means braised bone. In this case, it was a big ol’ hunk of pork cooked until the meat was falling off the bone.
-
Or perhaps poseur. :o
-
Hi, Singdaw.
-
That is for others to decide.
-
Hello, DR John G.
-
I am fixin' to go out for a classic breakfast, I think.
-
Rain expected today.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning to all. Have a great weekend.

Yesterday's events took the wind out of sails. It seemed much safer and saner to stay in bed, ponder my options and painless methods of suicide than drag myself out of bed and fret about my situation. I'm not sure I slept in those two hours between the alarm and my getting out of bed.
-
Thatch and Stella stayed away from me, but Annabelle curled up with me, cooed, trilled, clucked, and purred. She makes more sounds than any cat I have ever encountered.
-
DR TCB, the entire property setup, which occurred two days before I landed in Ohio and six days before my father died, was three acres of land deeded to my two brothers and me, with 2/3 majority to accomplish anything. Until Randy and Macbeth had their falling out around 2017, they held the majority and their dumbass decisions have screwed up potential sales since then.
Supposedly, the decision to do this was to avoid paying inheritance taxes, but after my dad's death, his jerk lawyer informed us we would still have to pay inheritance taxes! In November, 2007, we pated inheritance taxes on property worth $750,000.
-
If the property had remained in the estate, I as executor would have got a realtor and sold that sucker ASAP. Instead, the 2/3 majority refused to use a realtor (neither third ever went out to check on the property so the house was completely looted and vandalized); a small For Sale sign with Randy's phone number was buried in the weeds on the property; and wjen I was back in Ohio around 2009, neither third would come with me to talk to a realtor. As a resulty, the property never sold and the 2008 recession wreaked havoc on property sales.
-
By the time the 2/3 majority decided to hire a realtor, they chose a friend who, as I recall, did nothing, and I, sitting in Manhattan, Googled Dayton-Cincinnati realtors and found several, only one of whom seemed interested, they interviewed him, and hired him. He worked hard and found one (I think) potential buyer and I cannot remember now why the sale fell through. When their contract with him fewll through, they went with the current one.
-
And that's the saga.
Yesterday, after receiving the real estate slap, I did something wrong in getting off the floor and piulled something in the arch of my left foot. As a result, my right leg, as it has since June 2020, will not support me and my left leg is no longer happy about being the supporting column.
-
While I continue being poor pitiful Pearl, here's my current status:
Potential income:
Moonshine & Mistletoe: no productions yet but the demo recording may be released;
Annabelle & Thartch: with a publisher since March and no answer on publication yet;
Definite Income:
West End International concert work: you have to finish it to be paid;
La Bayadere: waiting on contract from Indiana University.
-
My current liabilities:
Up to my ass in debt, credit card at limit and back account empty;
I need cataract surgery and I can barely see;
I need hip and knee replacements;
I am two months behind in my health insurance payments
I cannot pay my utilities bill, cell phone bill, or Spectrum for phone, TV and internet;
I wish I were dead.
-
And that's more than enough good cheer from this corner.
-
$$ vibes for DR ELMORE.

Yesterday DR singdaw gave me a pie in the face which was most amusing.

Good morning, all.
EDIT: Make that afternoon. But I guess I'm only a few minutes late.
-
As planned, I took a Benadryl when I went to bed last night, and boy did I need that. The resulting sleep was more solid and satisfying, and of course it dried up the passages.
-
DR Elmore, thank you for posting that history of the property. I only wish I had something constructive to add.
-
This afternoon I'm doing something I haven't done since way before the pandemic. I don't even remember what the last time would have been. I'm going to the local AMC to see a movie. It will probably be nothing to write home about, but I hope to be sufficiently entertained with one viewing of BODIES BODIES BODIES.
The only movie theater I've been to in the past year has been the extremely well run Bedford Playhouse. Today will be my first day back seeing a movie ... for the populace and with the populace. Should be interesting.

My friend Cecil pixked me up this morning, took me to Costco and helped me get two shelf units.
-
I spent the rest of the morning assembling them.
-
I have sorted through a few boxes and got half of one unit filled.
-
Already you can walk more easily around.
-
I also found maybe eight small boxes of canning jars.
-
I don’t know what that’s about. I haven’t canned in a few years.
-
Now I’m having some leftover Chinese for lunch.

Almost.

As if I were not sad enough already, today is the first anniversary of my friend Peter Foley's death. I've also been adding to my Facebook family album photos of my father's Appalachianv family that my cousin Holly sent me.
-
I spent the rest of the morning assembling them.
Are you pleased with them?
-
Pictures are always interesting DR ELMORE
-
I'm watching THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS.....
-
I always like the finale where they sing the title song two years before it was written - at the Hippodrome four years after it was torn down.
-
Here are some photos of my paternal grandmother and my family. Most are on their farm in a holler outside Fallsburg, KY, and you can see thew Appalachians rising around them. All of these photos were taken before the holler got electricity in 1957 or 58, and I really have no idea when the road was paved, something that happened after 1964. The farm had no indoor plumbing until my dad installed it around 1970, shortly before my grandmother's death, and she cooked on a wood burning stove. The only heat in the house came from two or three botbellied stoves or the large fireplace.
In 1933, my grandmother, Emma Moore, abandoned her two sons and my sonofabitch grandfather, Wiulliam Moore, to run off to Baltimore with Charley Ball, who became her second husband. My dad remembered kneeling in the dirt road screaming for her to come back, and that trauma never left him. He was twelve years old.
My grandmother and Charley had one child, my Aunt Ernestine, who was born in 1934.
-
Two of my Aunt Ernestine.
-
Three generations of Ball ladies: my grandmother, Ernestine, and her daughter Holly.
Holly was my source for all these photos.

"And I live in Paris now; my children dance and dream, hearing the ways of a miner's life in words they've never seen" - Judy Collins
And on to Page 4!

Yes. I got so much work done today. I can now walk in parts of the garage.
-
Still much work to do.
-

Ain’t Hollywood grand?
-
Great photos, Elmore. Thanks for sharing.
-
Heating leftover osso buco for dinner.
-
Great collection of pictures, DR Elmore.
-
It seems like everybody here, lately -- including me -- is cleaning out their garage. :)
Except ..... I haven't even started mine. Oy.
-
The movie was terrible, by the way.
Even if you THINK you're in the mood for something that kind of promises to be a thriller ... don't even think about it.
It was kind of nice being back at a theater, though. And I do like their curly fries.
-
It’s 97 out there.
-
"Curly Fries at the Movies" sounds like it should be the title of something or other.
-
It’s 97 out there.
Almost Fall!

Yes. I got so much work done today. I can now walk in parts of the garage.
I need to work on our storage room.

Not that I want to clean out our storage room but I would prefer a better excuse ;D

Hello, everyone.
-
Thatch and Stella stayed away from me, but Annabelle curled up with me, cooed, trilled, clucked, and purred. She makes more sounds than any cat I have ever encountered.
That was sweet of Annabelle to comfort you.
-
I have sorted through a few boxes and got half of one unit filled.
That sounds very satisfying.
-
Interesting photos of your family, Elmore. I am always surprised to hear of people here in the US not having electricity or indoor plumbing during my lifetime. I do know that parts of West Virginia didn't have electricity until the 1960s.
-
Elmore, have you thought at all about an Indie-go-go campaign? Do you have any memorabilia you'd be willing to part with? I find that even small steps forward help.

Since it's a hot Saturday in August a little dreaming/fantasizing/wishful thinking seems in order. I'll start:
I'd love to see:
-- some evidence come out of the FBI raid that is so damaging, so over-the-top that it cannot be ignored and a certain former president can no longer run for public office.
-- new technologies that make healing the planet much easier. (I consider low-flow toilets and shower heads to be in this category as well as some of the newer innovations for cleaning the oceans. This is doable.)
-- a big advance for Ukraine and a crumbling of military capacity for Russia.
-- a change in attitude from many billionaires to give away more of their wealth to charities.
-- a blue wave come November.
How's that for a start? I'd like to hear other ideas.
-
Jrand may object to the last one, but I don't think he'd object to the first.
-
I've been doing cleaning and laundry and am ready for something more inspiring.
-
I watched season 3 episode 1 of MCDONALD & DOBBS last night. It's a quirky British mystery series, which sometimes works better than others, but I liked S3E1 quite a bit. Cast included Allan Davies and Holly Aird.
-
Things looking up for us all.
TTFN.
-
Really loving your list, DR Jeanne.
Would only add a general return to civility, kindness and compassion. A pipe dream, I know.
-
:)
-
And perhaps voting rights protected/strengthened.
-
I am listening to James Horner's soundtrack score for the film Glory. There are several quite stirring themes. There is also one cue that is a complete ripoff of Orff's Carmina Burana.

Sounds good. With number one, if it is that damaging they can't actually release the information so how do they prove it?
-
And perhaps voting rights protected/strengthened.
Yes.
-
I made some tuna salad for lunch. The rest of the day, I've been smelling tuna and couldn't figure out why.
And then I just remembered that when I was draining the can of tuna, some of the juice sprayed onto my shirt. :P
Changed my shirt. Problem solved.
Would that all of life's problems were so easily resolved.

We went to an open house/birthday party today.
-
It was mostly outside and inside wasn't crowded, in fact it was less crowded inside.
-
Once we began to feel uncomfortable without our masks we left.
-
We didn't really know anyone, however, our friend introduced us to someone who went to our high school.
-
No connections there, however, she knew very good friends of ours from a different school before transferring to our neighborhood. Small world.
-
While at the party we took a photo and texted it to our friends. They called back while we were driving home so we have a nice conversation.
-
finished with part one of perk organization - obviously doing the big stuff last, but we got a lot of the CD perks done and more. Still lots to do so helper person will be back this week to help. I think two more sessions should do the trick, then the helper can come pick it all up and get it shipped.
-
Had an omelet earlier, and tonight am only eating some cucumber roll and a tiny bit of seafood salad.
-
'night
-
:)
-
Good night, friends.
-
An omelet sounds good right now.
-
My back is feeling all of the day’s work.
-
Dancing was somewhat trying tonight as a result.
-
But they did well during the line dances. We did three: Cupid Shuffle, the waltz and Boot-Scootin’ Boogie.
-
I also taught them part of Thriller in the hopes they’ll be able to do all of it by Halloween.
-
I’m getting ready to watch the last episode of John from Cincinnati. I really enjoyed the series. Same guy who created Deadwood, David Milch.
-
LaCroix Limoncello sparkling water is quite wonderful.
-
What is this page five malarkey?

Why ain’t we further along?

Hello, 2 guests!
-
I need to go lay on my heating pad.
-
Good night, all.
-
I really came close to ordering some food, but I'm trying my best to be strong.
-
Today was a good day...with lots of driving, too.
-
At first, I got up a little later than I wanted (not surprising, though), and had to get a card for my friend's wedding, so I went to Fred Meyer and found a nice blank Congratulations card.
-
I went back home and picked up the gift cards that I was going to give them and l had a couple of other false starts, but eventually got on the road to the cast-and-going-away party for one of the actors in the show.
-
I'd only met him because of this show, so I didn't know anyone at his party, other than the fellow actors and tech for The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, but introductions were made and chatting and eating happened and a good time was had by all.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I saw them.
-
For sure.
-
I left that party so that I could drive to the wedding, which actually was a reception to celebrate the (small) wedding that happened a little earlier in the afternoon, but I made it in time and familiar faces were found and food was eaten and other former and current co-workers showed up and a good time was had by all. ;D
