Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the notes that goes wrong, and now it is time for you to post until the wrong cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JAUNTY!
-
Found the photos. That looks pretty nasty. Although, actually I was hoping it would be more photos of Damon.
-
Yep, the pill is kicking in.
-
Yep, the pill is kicking in.
Very good news!
-
Tom, the women who played Donna and Tanya in the Mamma Mia! that I was in are in this, too, so that'll be fun to see and work with them again.
-
Also, one of Sophie's friends is in this. And another woman that I met in the reading of a show a few years ago is involved, so I know four people total.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Great news about the role, DR George. I'll bet you are excited AND scared.
-
Or at least I would be.
-
That's quite the photographic documentation in today's notes!

~~~CONTINUED PAIN ABATEMENT VIBES~~~ for DR TCB
Good morning, all!
DR George, what exciting news! I wish you a huge success.
Well, it wasn't a bad night of sleep and I had one interesting dream that bears nothing with reality.
I can't say now if I were the owner of the hotel, a friend of the owner, or the representative of the buyer, but there wasthis shabby hotel the owners could not afford to upgrade and they decided to sell it, asking a very low price. The potential buyer offered an even lower price, and the hotel owners were trying to make a decision to take it or reject it. For reasons I no longer remember, I happened to learn what another hotel had sold for and how the price was determined.
I explained to the shabby hotel owners that they were asking far too little and what a good price should be, given the state of the hotel, so they turned down the buyer. Almost immediately they gota bid for the price they were asking.
I must make a very serious effort this morning to do the laundry which has sat in my foyer since last Thursday.
-
Good morning to everyone. I hope everyone has a fabulous week.
-
I looked over my overture yesterday and I think the sketch will be fine to show the conductor. I know I will be changing a few keys, but the structure looks fine.
Good morning, all.
-
Need I say it?
Monday.
But may it be a benign one.
I had three, maybe four, solid dreams at various times through the night. The first was around 1:00-something when I woke up and visited the necessary. That happened again around 4:00, and then I was awakened from yet another one around 5:30. I remember only one of them for sure, and a fragment of another one, but what's funny is that I had the distinct feeling all along that they were all related to one thing. But unless more of these come back to me through the day, which sometimes happens, it'll all be gone with the wind.
-
Today I continue some household chores and cleaning that I'd started last week.
And then rehearsals, tonight through Thursday night again.
-
Good morning, all.
-
My internet went out during the night. I dreamt about trying to get a $12 air ticket while dealing with a faulty internet connection.
I spent the day in the city with friends
-
But now I must get to work, so later
-
Kitty cleanup is finished, and the humidity is high so I am drenched in sweat. The laundry and its accoutrements are waiting at the door, but I remain reticent. Oh, yes, I am reticent.
-
I need a personal assistant.
-
I am also debating sending the publisher holding onto A & T a "piss or get off the pot" email. I*'m happy he was interested last March, but puzzled bby his procrastinations to accept or refuse it.
-
Last night, after channel surfing, I caught two interesting PBS programs. The first was part of a series on Great Estates of Scotland and it covered Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke of Argyll who is the head of the Scorttish clan Campbell. The current Duke and his wife, part of the Cadbury Chocolate clan, are a young, middle-aged couple with three children who treat the huge estate whose attitude is a huge anti-snobery "It's a business," keeping two floors of the castle to themselves and the rest as a tourist attaction which gets thousands of tourists to the town and castle regularly, many of them Campbells from all over the world coming to their homestead. I thought the Duke and Duchess were quite down to earth and charming.
-
The program following that was the first of a 3-part series on the Boleyn family: father Thomas, son George, and daughters Mary and Ann, and how Thomas rose to power ibn the court of Henry VIII. He was not above double dealing, politically correct marriage, and pimping his daughters to land himself in Henry's inner circle of court. I look forward to Part 2 next week.
-
I’m having to think at work this morning. Not fun on a Monday.
-
Both shows sound good, Elmore. I will see if they are on pbs.org.
Is the Boleyn family anything like how they’re presented in the opera?
-
Need I say it?
A weird email at work accidentally went out to everyone. I’ve wasted too much time this morning tracking down that it was a mistake.
I want to make a pie with dried cherries and chocolate chips, maybe nuts.
This is the recipe I found:
https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cherry-chocolate-pecan-pie/
79!!!! grams of carbs per slice. That’s more than a whole day’s allowance for me.
-
Is the Boleyn family anything like how they’re presented in the opera?
The Boleyns come across differently in everything, from Donizetti opera to fiction. This series lays out how a non-noble but wealthy family marrried inrto the noble but poor Howard family in Thomas Boleyn's rise to power using everyone and maipulating his father-in-law(?) Thomas Howard and Cardinal Wolsey among others, juggling his young daughters Mary and Ann in his climb. His son George died in Henry's plot to assassinate Ann, and Mary seems to have vanished into obscurity. The programn's also good in explaining Ann's dilemma as a 13year-old sent to be a courtier at the court of Marguerite of Ausatria and then the corrupt court of Francis whenv Henry pimps his sister Mary Tudor into marriage with the old French king. All the while, heads are rolling.
Back to the laundry. I decided to do it.
I thought this response was funny.
DR JOHN G I had a nice birthday - I am enjoying life in the 70's.....the age not the decade....although I guess this is my disco decade, lifewise.....so far so good.
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his leading role!
-
DR ELMORE perhaps your dream is a message or a foretell - that would be nice.
I always thought Alexandre Desplat would have been a good name for a character in an Inspector Clouseau movie.
My nephew is trimming Audrey II so that she no longer looks as if she is trying to eat my house.
Everything is in the dryers. I'm hoping my legs last for one more trip to the basement.
DR JOHN G this is my favorite Bollywood movie.....and this is a terrific song....Birdy Barnum is indifferent to it.
DR George congratulations on the lead role!
DR TCB I had forgotten the story of Sammy Davis Jr being told not to do imitations of white people.
Vibes for DR elmore
Randy called just after I came up with the laundry. The sale is dead. I have no idea what I can do at this point to solve my current financial situation. It's dire.
On a positive note, we have some ideas about the property.
-
DR John how did the movie end?
Inevitably and tragically. And mystically. The not goddess vanishes into the mist.
-
(((((((Hugs, Elmore)))))))
-
To explain the situation, here's my dad's property:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/5744+OH-122,+Middletown,+OH+45005/@39.494326,-84.3128871,3a,75y,21.56h,94.46t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s4kgGCze88e4zhtVKa9BeTQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m5!3m4!1s0x88405e352782f609:0xc0f7c089e421500e!8m2!3d39.494903!4d-84.312942
If yu move the photo to the right, you are heading east and you can see the dfriveway to the no-longer-there house and the median between the east and west traffic lanes. If you turn the photo to the left, going west, you can see the second driveway that turned into my dad's storage lot.
What kiboshed the deal is that just east of my dad's property, there is a n ability to turn, only the City of Middletown says that will be for the fire dept and access traffic only. If you want to get to my dad's property, you need to drive east for a mile to Hunter and make a U-turn there.
-
So . . . at this point, thanks to the City and my brothers' screwing up any potential early sales, our land is now a liability. Randy and I debated paying no more property taxes and letting the City have it. He thinks this is what the City is counting on.
Then he made a comment: I'd like to find some sanitation truck company and lease the land for $1.00 a year and stink up their new fire house, just to piss off the City.
-
We started riffing on that. What if we could find some offensive company to rent the land from us for, say, $500/month? That would cover the property taxes ad just might piss off the City to buy the land from us at any price we wanted?
It's something to consider.
-
Oh, man.
So, DR Elmore, that property does NOT extend east to Atrium Blvd., right? The only access to the property is from right in front, on 122. And they won't allow either U-turns, or any turns, at Atrium Blvd in order to head back west and enter the property? And when are they ever going to extend Atrium up to the medical center, which is what it looks like was always intended?
Does the medical center wish to capture that land themselves for eventual expansion?
If you and Randy decided to stop paying the taxes and let the city take it, does that constitute a 2/3 majority on that issue? I do like the idea of forcing their hand in paying you something for it better, though. But all of these things are worth thinking about.
Atrium is west of my dad's property. The new fire house is the flat land east, just past the old driveway. The only access now to our property is coming west from Hunter to make a right turn onto the property.
I cannot speak for Macbeth, but I think all three of us like the idea of leasing the property to someone the City would never allow to buy it. A lot full of sanitation trucks and port-o-lets or huge diesel trucks might just make them want ot take it off our hands
I really thought elmore's sale was going through this time. Has the city actually made an offer on the property?
Leading man George.
Only the second time in my acting career!
-
I previously had played Charlie Brown in You're a Goid Man, Charlie Brown, back in the early aughts.
-
33 days to vacation. Two days to jury duty.
-
I did play Sancho Panza in Man of La Mancha, but that's the second male lead.
33 days to vacation. Two days to jury duty.
One sounds fun, the other "fun" ;)
-
DR John G., are they really letting you fulfil your jury duty responsibilities via Zoom?
-
I think I’ve got it. I used to make a Kentucky derby pie with pecans and chocolate chips all soaked in bourbon before baking. I could soak the cherries in the bourbon and add. Maybe a few dashes of chocolate and cherry bitters.
-
DR John G., are they really letting you fulfil your jury duty responsibilities via Zoom?
The first day, yes. If I get picked for a panel, I have to show up the second day in person.
-
I just saw a recipe for "triple-chocolate" peanut butter cookies. They use peanut butter, peanut powder, and chopped peanut brittle. And then once baked, the bottoms are coated in chocolate.
-
I have read a few of those novels.
The Firm was so bad, I not only threw the book across the room but I also threw it away. I didn’t want anyone else to read it.
Did you like the movie?
No. I don’t like much of anything with Tom Cruise. But it was better that the wife caught him cheating. That smug superiority of the lawyer in the book drove me crazy.
-
I couldn’t get a BluRay to play, so I’m starting Mercy Street.
-
I haven’t enjoyed much of David Sedaris’s latest. I think the shortcoming is with me, not the book.
I did finish Edith Hamilton’s The Echo of Greece. I haven’t read her in ages. Excellent book.
Good night, all.
DR George, huge congrats!
You know you’re a star when you get the lead role without even needing to audition.
👏👏
-
DR Elmore, I am so sorry that the property didn’t sell.
However, I’m intrigued and rather amused by your new plan B. 😊
-
DR TCB, were you able to see my post about a pain doctor in your area?
You may have replied, and I may have missed it.
Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll post the information here in BK’s living room.
Good night, everyone. 😴
Goodness, I spent most of the day in bed.
I don’t know if I am sick because of the pain, or whether I am just plain ill. Mentally?
Oh, I missed Iris. I wanted to get the name of the local doctor.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
I feel like something is lacking from that statement.
