Good Morning! In the land of Oz that would be practise.
Sheesh - If Dino keeps hogging the piano, I'll never get a chance to practice!!!!
;D
In the land of Oz that would be practise.
Catch you soon in OZ we hope DR Jose.
Shouldn't DRs Jose and Elmore be asleep. Maybe you're out Bear hunting.
I love old movie houses. Unfortunatley, they have all disappeared here in Northern Caliifornia. The only one that I know of that is still in all its granduer is the Stanford Movie Theatre in Palo Alto. They even have a MIghty Wurlitzer. It's sad the way the old houses have gone.
DRs Ann and Jed will also have something on the way to them as well!
I knew WOTW might be entertaining as soon as I saw all the "hatred" of it online, by people who hadn't actually seen it. The last time the Internet dweebs did the same sort of negative hatred was with The Incredibles.
Miss Clayburgh is sixty. I think Natwick was younger when she played Barefoot on stage.
DR Jennifer....bleach on the light blue shirt will work...if you want a white spot on your light blue shirt.
DO NOT RUB BLEACH ON YOUR BLUE SHIRT!
And, remember, it is just a t-shirt.
That is the funniest thing i've read!
I am still confused, why does the bleach imply that you can use it for colors. You'd think it would say "USE ONLY ON WHITE". And i'm confused why my beige lines on the comforter didn't turn white!
I used the spray in wash. Didn't work.
Can anyone please tell me the dates for HHW gathering in NYC in October?
If your bleach is "Bleach for Colors," then it's safe for all colors. But it's not the same as bleach for whites.
It just says "bleach - whitens and brightens". I didn't know there was bleach for colors. Under directions it says something like "use on these fabrics: white or colorfast".
I have another question for all you food experts.
I am planning desserts for a baby shower, and have been told that quite a few of the guests are diabetic. Does anybody know any good and easy recipes i might try?
I am assuming that means i must not use any sugar. But are artificial sweeteners okay? And are natural sugars (from fruit) okay?
Thanks in advance.
Even though I told you about various food places, I will miss most of the daytime walk and eat tour on Thursday, October 6. I will probably join you all for dinner at Arties, but work for me in October is VERY busy and I can't take off a day, even for the fun involved. Depending on where you are in the tour I can probably join you for lunch (I'm at 16th Street and 5th Avenue, Ginny knows where I work) but that's it for the daytime activities.
You guys are so smart. I love you!
Okay it is definitely 100% cotton. But I got it in London. There isa triangle with an X thru it, a circle with an X thru it, and a squre with a circle in it with an X thru it.
And yes DR Jose, it is very light blue.

Just received my fifth second chance offer on an eBay item, all of them from scam artists. I'm telling you - class action lawsuit time - we could make a LOT of money. Someone find a pro bono lawyer. Cillaliz?
Also, and DR Jose can perhaps relate, half of the people will be Filipino, and so they most likely will not be happy with non-Filipino food (that is what they like). I believe for dessert they will eat anything though.
Wow, DR Jose, you got it exactly! And DR RLP you almost did. I've never known any men who knew this much!
So i'm guessing the no bleach comment means i shouldn't even try your other suggestions? :'(

LOL!!!!
;D
Filipinos tend to like very sweet things for dessert - and very starchy/carby too. Rice flour, rice, cassava root, sweet potatoes, yams, bananas, plantains, sweetened red beans, etc., figure heavily(!) in Filipino desserts. Most definitely not diabetic-friendly foods.
And even though it may seem like we may eat "anything", we don't. Just make sure it's either fried, served over shaved ice with condensed milk, served with sugar on the side for dipping (usually with sesame seeds and crushed peanuts mixed in), and/or steamed in banana leaves. Then "we" will eat it.
;D

DR Jose, can I package you up and keep you! :)
Yeah we will do fruit, and I will do the diet jello.
As for regular food, there will be cut up veggies. There will probably be a layered salad. There will be little sandwiches (can they eat those?).
My mind is blank, I can't even remember what else we are making. But if I knew what would be good, I would do it.
Although I think most of the diabetics are Filipino, so they may not eat the food anyhow. :)
Holy Cats! I'm way freaked out.
I just got an e-mailing from Abercrombie & Fitch, and this model is a dead ringer for my father when he was a young man:
I've never known any men who knew this much!
DR Jennifer, exactly how many gay men DO you know? ;)
DR Jennifer, exactly how many gay men DO you know? ;)The "Wizard of Oz" had effects worldwide it seems.
There are SO many things wrong with this sentence, not the least of which is that you are on A&F's mailing list. ;)
DR Ginny - Welcome home.
Sorry you and your travelling companion got sick, but you were not alone. There were some other "sickies" this past weekend here on HHW and elsewhere.
But at least you had that wonderful view from your hotel room!
:)
Can anyone please tell me the dates for HHW gathering in NYC in October?
Stop apologizing for your food. If people - Filipino or not - are hungry, they will eat. If they're not, well, then you'll have plenty of leftovers.
*I learned a long time ago, that if you expect people not to like, not to eat your food, then they will most likely "fulfill" your intentions.

I don't think that I am the target audience for the Tom Cruise PR, cause War of the Worlds is not really my kind of movie.
Also, DR Danise, there actually was a reality tv show called For Love or Money. And it had some of the elements of yours (maybe you read about it?). It had one contestant and then a group of the opposite sex. The contestant had to deceive the group, then at the end they both had the choice to be together or leave for $1Million (or something like that).
I meant vixmom, of course. But isn't it time for the vixter to join our merry troupe?
Holy Cats! I'm way freaked out.

Ron -- I wish I had met your Dad when he was a young man. Come to think of it, I think I did!
Well, maybe someone just needs to post another household query so that DRs Ron and myself can start posting opinions and possible solutions.
;D
Well...you'd have been about -5 or -6.
He was 25 when I was born in 1948.

In earlier oral histories such as Working, The Good War, and Hard Times, Studs Terkel showed a virtuoso talent for absorbing the small talk of regular Joes and Janes and turning it into a literary cross-hatch--Robert Browning and Herodotus, Margaret Mead and Steinbeck. It turns out all this was prologue. In The Spectator, Terkel reveals that if he loved the waitresses and hockey players of earlier books, it wasn't in "the way, nor to the same degree, as those in the world of the lively arts." You can tell, reading this book. The Terkel touch is all here, but in 50-plus interviews with the likes of Buster Keaton and Marlon Brando, James Cagney, Simone Signoret, Jacques Tati, and (weirdly) Arnold Schwarzenegger, it's Studs's range that astonishes. He has textured memories of remote stage productions of Arthur Miller's plays--which you might expect. But when he remembers Kanchenjungha with the Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray, Ray laughs out loud: "Where did you see that?" There are lovely little fender benders, too: in a basement apartment in Paris in 1963, Simone Signoret extravagantly praises Françoise Rosay and Agnes de Mille, characters we know from earlier chapters--de Mille especially. A choreographer who brought ballet to Broadway musicals, she explains that African rhythms and English clog dancing married to beget tap; with a shift from up to down beat, she says, "syncopation and jazz were born." Reading The Spectator, you marvel once again at Terkel's facility with people of all kinds--and his deep familiarity with the American century. --Lyall Bush--This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
DR Danise mentioned Mr. Ball - assuming she meant Michael Ball - I've been wondering recently if it is a coincidence that Mr Ball is in NYC doing a stint with the NYC Opera just about the time when ALW is rehearsing "The Woman In White" to prepare for the opening in November. Michael Ball did take over Michael Crawford's part to RAVE reviews in London, and since he didn't get to do the Bway production of "Chitty", wouldn't it be nice for him to be back on Broadway with an ALW show since he made his Bway debut in "Aspects of Love" and hasn't been back since? It's all just a strange coincidence to me.....
Hmm...
It really is a sad state of affairs when the best thing on TV is "Dancing With the Stars"... At least I can catch up on last week's episode at 8:00, before the new one at 9:00...

The Craterian closed in the 80s and later was dusted off and renovated and turned into the Ginger Rogers Theater (or something like that) a few years ago. It looks nice, but totally different.

Thanks for the link DR Jane. I see Medford is finally getting some culture...and big names too! Ben 'Vereen, Carol Channing...!
It must not be called the Ginger Rogers Theater any longer.

That is when those DVDs you have been meaning to watch come in handy!
DR Jane - The cookies sound delicious - even moreso with the coffee ice cream on them. Maybe just a tablespoon or so of finely ground espesso beans added to the cookie batter... Hmm...
;)
I haven't had one single e-mail today, nor have we had one CD order today. Skammen.
Hmm...Bullhockey!

Why we lock our doors here in Florida.Just out to borrow a cuppa sugar, right?
Next thing you know, some cable channel will be rerunning the Arthur Murray Dance Party. (Some of us ARE old enough to remember that program!)
Couldn't let you go a day without an order. I just pre-ordered New Guy in Town.
