Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of some old-timers, and now it is time for you to post until the old-time cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: COALESCE!
-
Topic of the Day: in my CD player at work is a homemade CD of my scenes from A Murder is Announced that I made from my recording of our first read-through. It's about 52 minutes total, and I'm in a little less than half the show, so I would guess that with intermission, it'll end up being about 2½ hours.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well last night, and the cats behaved for the most part.
-
My notary-Fed Ex errand yesterday gave me little time to work on the overture, so once I'm back from basement and mailroom, I must buckle down, Winsocki,
-
I watched Florida governor Ron Death Sentence revelling in his smug justification for flying Texas immigrants to Martha's Vineyard. In the press conference, he was cute, he was aiming to get laughs from his cronies and fellow scumbags, and he was a total piece of crap, complertely oblivious of the cruelty and inhumanity of playing with these poor folk.
-
My other projects for the day are to refill a few prescriptions and contact our realtor about getting my share of the property sale via bank transfer.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Pain relief vibes for TCB.
-
I don’t want to get up, but I guess I gotta.

Good morning, all.

Friday.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR elmore3003, will you need to reserve some of the proceeds from the sale for potential tax impact?
-
Classical pianist Lang Lang apparently has a new album out, playing the Disney songbook.
-
DR elmore3003, will you need to reserve some of the proceeds from the sale for potential tax impact?
No. We paid inheritance taxes in 2007 on the property worth $750,000. Our sale is tax free since we're practically giving it away.
My dad, with hismoronic lawyer and mty two brothers present, deeded the property to us a week before he died to avoid our having to pay inheritance taxes. If I'd been there, I'd have done my best to kibosh this.
The day after my dad's death, when I went with the lawyer to set the estate account, I learned we qwould have to pay inheritance taxes anyway because the transfer happened so cose to his death. What a helpful attorney..

Any r5ecommendations for a really good biography of Queen Elizabeth II?

Friday!
It was too quiet around here yesterday.....I may stop by PetSmart just to see what's in the cage.
-
Good morning!

I have been very bad about self-starting this morning!
But with no rehearsal tonight it’s like a day off. Which makes it feel like a three day weekend.
I must run a few errands, including feeding the car for the coming week - for which thank the gods the price was down to $3.27 yesterday, so with any luck it could be better still today. But how nice that $3.27 is, after FIVE DOLLARS not that long ago.
-
This is my last feeling of days off for a while. Come Monday, it’s rehearsal every night, sitzprobe and tech next Sunday, then tech (a.k.a. HELL) week.
-
Today's Wordle appears to have been especially challenging, judging from the online postings of others.
-
I reworded that so I didn't have to puzzle out whether other's or others' was correct.
-
Two.
-
I saw a headline that said "America Runs on Unions," but my mind read "Onions."
-
Both may be true.
-
That is true DR singdaw.....
-
Well Mr. Personality was in the cage at PetSmart, so Elvis is now in the cage at my house.
He is charcoal gray with a yellow face.....but he so far has been very very quiet.....
I think he will be more chirpy when he gets used to the place. And it's probably the only time in his young life when he has been alone without a bunch of fellow birds around him..... He seems to be about six weeks old and he only arrived at the store this morning - so he may still be a bit travel weary.
-
I’ve been asked to play keyboard 2 in the Sondheim revue (spelled review on the score) Putting It Together, for a one-night benefit concert in mid-November that will pay the band what amounts to little more than gas money. These things can be worth doing, of course, so ... we'll see. Looks like keyboard 1 does all the work throughout, with the second book being an easy to program, easy to play synth part. And that's precisely what might make it doable for me since I'll be deep into rehearsals for our run of Smorgasbord! in December. So like I said (but I do rather like saying it) ... we'll see.
-
Congratulations, DR Jrand72.
You are aware, of course, that some photographic evidence is in order?
-
Very happy for you, DR Jrand72. Did the bird come with the name, or is that your contribution?
-
Speaking of Sondheim, Eleri Ward's two Sondheim albums (the latest is released today) are interesting contemporary pop takes on the work of the Master.

Congrats, Jrand! Can't wait to see photos!

Great photo, George!
😂
-
DR Jrand72, so pleased that Elvis has chosen to adopt you. 😊
Congratulations!

From DR George:
I'm glad to be I another show...but does my character have to have SO MANY LINES?? :o
Is Evergreen Playhouse the same theater where we saw you in a show?
-
The name came to me when I saw his color - I had never seen a charcoal gray parakeet before.....his tail feathers are black.
I shall take some photos in the next couple of days. He is exploring his environment and checking out the mirrors.
-
DR Jrand72, when do we get a photo of your new houseguest?
-
HA! The Go Fund Me perks have arrived in Indiana. What a wonderful treasure trove!
Each and every item a bargain!

No. I forget which show you saw, but this will be down in Centralia where I did Mamma Mia! back in May. That was the first show that I had been in there.

The photo of the stage made me wonder.

At 5:45 this morning, while at his computer, Keith heard someone try to open our front door. He then checked our camera to see who was out there and found an intruder. He thought it was the same guy who has been removed from our complex more than once. Turned out it was someone new with a similar look.
-
They guy also went to a few other units and talked to someone in the garage, who kindly gave the poor, rather cold, shirtless guy a sweat shirt.
-
Our security service caught the guy and the police took him someplace.
-
Wow, DR Jane.

Why so blue? Page two.

Sources are reporting that Phantom of the Opera will close on Broadway by the end of the year, after 34 years.

And none too soon.

Sending more vibes!
-
DRs, you are looking at a man who has no tacos.
(That's not a euphemism for anything, is it? Well, no matter.)
I do have some flour tortillas, Mexican blend grated cheese, and diced green chiles to start something with. I shall make quesadillas.
-
I just mowed the back forty for the first time in...
oh God, if I could even remember, I wouldn't want to say it.
Let's just say it was almost more than the mower, at its usual setting, could handle. And more than I, at my usual setting, could handle. I'll finish that task on the morrow.

And sure enough, it was down to $3.23 today. But a glance at my fuel gauge told me I should even wait another day or two, so we'll see what happens when I'm there tomorrow or Sunday.

I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep.

Can someone tell me what all the variations are of Wordle?

There are so many, it's really hard to keep track of.

Closing on February 18th. Here's the story:

Friday evening greetings! We've had a pretty quiet day here. Our big excitement was Richard removing the big bandage wrap from his hand (he was told to do that after 48 hours). He's now allowed to wash the incision and I put a new, less cumbersome, dressing on it.
-
DR JANE that's scary.
-
I got everything except the musical quote - which I assume is coming under separate cover.

Hello, everyone.

I paid $5.99 for premium today. I'd been putting off filling my tank for at least a week, so I'm just glad it's done.

Wow. You are lucky the mower did handle it.

I'm pleased you found another pet. Elvis' coloring sounds very attractive. Does he like cherry coke? Probably too soon to tell.
-
DR JANE that's scary.
It was a good thing we didn't plan to go to the gym today. With all the emails, beginning with the first one Keith send to our neighbors, there were tons of emails to discuss this.
-
TCB, did you find another CBD product?
Pain begone vibes to you!
-
The neighbor above us called Keith after another neighbor called her. Where Keith didn't even go to the door to look through the peephole, one neighbor's care giver opened the door to the guy. At least she was able to keep him out.
Who doesn't look outside before opening a door, especially at 5:45 in the morning.
-
Trader Joe's now has both pumpkin bread and pumpkin bagels -- both GF -- in stock. I bought a loaf of pumpkin bread, but haven't tried it yet.

Vibes to all.
TTFN.

Sounds good.
-
5.99 is outrageous! In the Valley there are, of course, many stations charging exactly that, but an equal number that are anywhere from 30 cents to over 70 cents cheaper.
-
Still trying to cast this damn duet. What is very clear to me is that I have zero idea who any of these young performers are that are supposedly "known" - never heard of one of them.
-
Had my pasta thing from Stanley's - very good. No bread. No more food until tomorrow.
-
Oh, my, Jane, that is one scary story!
Thank goodness you and Keith are ok!
-
I would never open my door not knowing who was there.
-
Thank you DR Iris.
-
Do you know if he is homeless, and what his mental state was when he arrived at your home?
-
The homeless camp in the bushes outside of our bedroom was just as scary, maybe worse because Keith was outside when he discovered it.
-
I would never open my door not knowing who was there.
The woman who lives there was not happy the door was opened. I doubt that will happen again.
-
Wait, what?
There’s a homeless camp outside of your bedroom?
I missed that.
-
Do you know if he is homeless, and what his mental state was when he arrived at your home?
Mentally better than the last two homeless people found here. The one that set up a bed, using items from our patios, has had the sense not to return. The other guy keeps coming back even though the police keep sending him away, definitely mental.
The guy today seemed kind of ok, or at least better than some.
-
Wait, what?
There’s a homeless camp outside of your bedroom?
I missed that.
A couple of months ago. I might not have mentioned it. Now Keith checks the bushes every morning.
-
As you can tell there is a bit of a homeless problem near us.
-
Please be careful.
I’m glad that you have such good relationships with your neighbors.
-
The bark of a Bernese mountain dog would scare people away. 😉
-
Alas, we won't be getting one.
-
Please be careful.
I’m glad that you have such good relationships with your neighbors.
Yes, issues here have bonded us.
-
The homeless situation in this country is tragic.
We really need to do better.
-
Stay safe.
-
Keith found the camp the day before we left to visit the kids. I think almost all the people in our building, plus a few in other buildings, checked on our space every day. They weren't going to let anyone camp in those bushes again-lol.
-
The homeless situation in this country is tragic.
We really need to do better.
It is. I admit, while my heart goes out to the people I don't want them hanging out here.
-
Portland is very bad and many of the homeless there have crossed the bridge to us :(
-
Good night, Jane.
-
Stay safe.
Thank you.
-
Ashland was bad to. At least here they usually leave us alone.
-
Yes, my friends in Portland have been telling me how bad the homeless situation is there.
L.A., San Francisco, New York, all terrible.
-
Jane, I have friends in Ashland who are moving because of the wildfire smoke.
-
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival was forced to cancel many outdoor performance in August. Some of the staff lost homes in the wildfires.
-
Glad you’re not dealing with that.
-
Good night for now.
-
Jane, I have friends in Ashland who are moving because of the wildfire smoke.
I have friends who would consider leaving if they didn't have children and grandchildren there. Are your friends downtown or outside of the town?
-
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival was forced to cancel many outdoor performance in August. Some of the staff lost homes in the wildfires.
Was that in the Talent fire a couple of years ago?

Ashland is beautiful and we still miss living there but the air quality can get terrible.

Home from a dance in Fredericksburg. I am exhausted.

I have to confess, as of today, I will be using my scooter inside the condo, in addition of when I leave the house.
-
It is just too painful trying to wheel the chair around my gigantic space.

I would think so. It is way past your bedtime.

And sadly...'Ocean's 11' Actor Henry Silva Dead at 95: 'Our Hearts Are Broken' (https://people.com/movies/oceans-11-actor-henry-silva-dead-at-95-our-hearts-are-broken/). :(
Henry Silva was "the last surviving star of the original Oceans 11 Movie," Dean Martin's daughter tweeted following the news of Silva's death.

I started watching THE PERILS OF PAULINE with Betty Hutton. I remember seeing it as a second feature at the drive-in. My memory was that it was pretty funny. I must have been really drunk. I was not amused.
-
But he did live to be 95, so he had a life!
-
And speaking of being drunk, I have been moaning and groaning so much about my hands that I passed right over my AA birthday. On Wednesday, September 14, I have been sober for twenty-nine (29) years.
-
TCB, congratulations on 29 years!
It is not easy.

Up are finally new notes.

I was almost finished with them but had to have an hour-long late-night telephonic conversation.
