Well, you've read the notes, the notes had spoilers and were alert, and now it is time for you to post until the alert, spoiled cows come home.

BK, my name is spelled DOUGHERTY.

Good morning, all!

I tried to sleep in, but around 6:15 I decided it was not going to happen.
-
I completely forgot about the deli food TOD:
pastrami on rye
matzoh ball soup
potato pancakes
-
I have nothing to report.
-
DR TCB, 29 years of sobriety is a fantastic achievement. Good for you!
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a happy anniversary to TCB.
-
Very, very interesting about the UK release, and about The Swimmer itself.
It’s actually a bit of a mystery as to whether I saw it when it was released. I was aware of it and attracted to it, but I must not have gotten to it until who knows when. But I love the Frank Perry films, even with the mucking about with this one, and Cheever's stories. If only that original footage were available.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
Robert Altman’s Health
Night Moves

Night Moves is another movie that I wish they could find the original footage and restore it.

I love Sierra Boggess. I do not like Laura Osnes' vaccine politics.

DR TCB congratulations on your 29th anniversary!
-
DR Lurker Iris, I don't think you noticed my question when you posted last night so I will ask again.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival was forced to cancel many outdoor performance in August. Some of the staff lost homes in the wildfires.
Was that in the Talent fire a couple of years ago?
-
Good afternoon!

Wordle: 3/6

Congratulations, DR TCB!

DR Laura how is your back? Do you actually have bruises on it?

I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.

I wonder what would happen if you wandered into a restaurant and ordered a flight of fancy.
-
I accomplished a few things today.
-
There is a new recording of the complete songs of Samuel Barber, including many previously unpublished.
-
Watching the end of That Man from Rio. Didn’t like it as much as the rest.
-
Got a haul from the library today, including Elvis and a documentary called Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story.
-
The most interesting is a Blake Edwards film called The Perfect Furlough with Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh and Elaine Stritch. Probably horrible.

Probably, but possibly still fun simply for the cast.
-
Just started a piece of Hollywood hokum called Lone Star with Clark Gable, Ava Gardner, Lionel Barrymore, Broderick Crawford, Beulah Bondi and every extra on the set. It’s not just Mexicans, these Texans are fighting. There’s Comanche and liberals, too.
-
Our camera showed the homeless guy was only wearing shorts.
-
Keith mentioned that the security camera showed our homeless guy not only wearing a sweatshirt the neighbor gave him, but also his feet half in a pair of tennis shoes.
-
Thursday night I dropped a pair of tennis shoes, with a hole, in the garage trash bin. I am glad I was able to help dress the poor guy. Too bad they hadn't been a pair of Keith's shoes.
-
Henry Silva has died at 95. Always appreciated his performances, especially The Manchurian Candidate.
-
DR Jane, I believe they lost their homes a few years ago. The fire was the Almeda Fire.
-
This summer, they had to cancel shows because of a bad Covid outbreak.
-
The OSF staff are working on long term plans to move more outdoor productions indoors because there are often problems with wildfire smoke.
Really sad.
-
If anyone is interested, The Last Of Sheila will be televised tomorrow at 5:45PM on TCM.
Written by Stephen Sondheim and Anthony Perkins.
Quirky film, with a pretty good cast…Dyan Cannon, Raquel Welsh, Richard Benjamin, James Mason, James Coburn, Ian McShane and Joan Hackett.
-
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. 🌻
-
Larry, I share your feelings regarding Sierra Boggess and Laura Osnes.
Laura is not getting much work on Broadway these days.
-
Some friends recently saw Sierra as Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music at the Barrington Stage Company. They said she gave a fantastic performance.
-
DR Jane, I believe they lost their homes a few years ago. The fire was the Almeda Fire.
Sorry, I should have called the Talent fire by its correct name. I was practically glued to my computer tracking the fire and checking on friends. We lived on the opposite end of Ashland.
-
The OSF staff are working on long term plans to move more outdoor productions indoors because there are often problems with wildfire smoke.
Really sad.
I remember when it was extremely rare for an outdoor show to be cancelled. We sat through the first half of Hamlet during a storm. We were dry under the overhang, however, the amazing actors were soaking wet. It was funny watching them slowly change out of their costumes. At one point the king wore a jogging suit and crown ;D
They finally called the play as it was too dangerous to do the fight scenes on the slippery stage.

Congratulations to TCB on your anniversary!

My uncle died last Sunday and today was his funeral
-
It was a very quiet graveside service
-
He was 96 and my aunt ( his wife) had passed a few months ago so. It was not unexpected
-
But still sad
-
My uncle died last Sunday and today was his funeral
My condolences to you :(
-
But still sad
Of course.
-
I have been keeping in touch with a friend, who miraculously, still has her home in the Mosquito California Fire.
-
Larry, I share your feelings regarding Sierra Boggess and Laura Osnes.
Laura is not getting much work on Broadway these days.
I loved Laura in Bandstand, and I LOVED that show (it was filmed a couple of years before Covid). And Sierra was incredible in The Phantom of the Opera that was filmed live at the Royal Albert Hall!
-
Some friends recently saw Sierra as Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music at the Barrington Stage Company. They said she gave a fantastic performance.
I'd heard that. I wish they could've filmed that production!
-
My uncle died last Sunday and today was his funeral
My condolences, Vixmom. :(

-
Sorry, DR vixmom. HUGS.
-
I'm now downtown ushering.

BK, do you know about this book?
-
Good night, friends.
-
Larry, I share your feelings regarding Sierra Boggess and Laura Osnes.
Laura is not getting much work on Broadway these days.
Osnes co- produced the Disney Princess tour that came to San Antonio a few months back. She did not appear.
-
My uncle died last Sunday and today was his funeral
My sympathies, Vixmom.
-
Where is everyone?
-
Off enjoying their lives?
-
Instead of posting here?
-
Their absence won’t grt us to page four any sooner.
-
Maybe my blathering will.
-
Watching the rest of Lone Star.
-
Ava Gardner has a dreadful part.
-
But she looks great. Almost always did.
-
Onward!
-
Four!
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
Started Stephen King’s latest, Fairy Tale, today.
-
It’s long, but I am captivated so far.
-
It’s a plot device he’s used before: A teenager befriends an older man.
-
It’s more Cell Phone than Apt Pupil.
-
The history of Lone Star is laughable, but the big fight scene was great.
-
Then there was a knock-down drag-out fight between Clark Gable and Broderick Crawford for the whole state.
-
Gable, of course, couldn’t lose.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
DR TCB, 29 years of sobriety is a fantastic achievement. Good for you!
Thanks, Elmore.
-
And a happy anniversary to TCB.
Thank you, Chas.

DR TCB congratulations on your 29th anniversary!
Thanks, Jane.
-
Congratulations, DR TCB!
Thank you, Kevin. Nice seeing you here.
-
Page FOUR? That's where we are? Page FOUR? Way too unseemly for me.
-
And not even close to page five.
-
And that will NOT do.
-
I'm about to post the new notes but I sure am NOT changing the topic.
-
That's the way it is.
-
I don't believe in our entire damn history we have EVER had only four pages of postings.
-
On Thursday of this week, a lot of news programs were celebrating the start of Hispanic Recognition Month. Naturally , I believe that is a wonderful thing. However, has anyone checked their calendar
for this month. Thursday was September 15. And that was the start of the celebration? That seems rather offensive. 1/2 a month?
-
Perhaps George is out celebrating Hispanic Recognition Month - he certainly isn't here.
-
No, he is NOT here.
-
Congratulations to TCB on your anniversary!
Thanks, vixmom.
-
But still sad
My condolences to you and your family.
-
Some friends recently saw Sierra as Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music at the Barrington Stage Company. They said she gave a fantastic performance.
I'd heard that. I wish they could've filmed that production!
I imagine someone did. You just need to know the right people.
-

It's been a long day.

Well, since we're so close...

This morning, again, I had to take a pain pill in order to get out of bed and into my wheelchair. Of course I had to wait a rather uncomfortable twenty minutes waiting for the pain medication to kick in.
-
I won’t be able to type many more posts.
-
My hands are throbbing.
-
Tomorrow is the last Sunday of the summer.
-
The year is flying by.
-
It is almost Christmas.
-
Well, good night and Happy Holidays!
-
Well, we got to five, barely.
