Well, you've read the notes, the notes passed, and now it is time for you to post until the passed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MESONOXIAN!
-
Iris, my doctor seems to think that is caused by a pinched nerve in my neck.
-
I hope there is a way to lessen the pain.
Sometimes prednisone works, oral or injected.
Guess you take anti-inflammatory drugs already.
Does your doctor think physical therapy might help?
-
I have a good friend who has had success with a certain CBD cream.
Will find out the name.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Belated thanks rto our DRs Jeanne and TCB for their late night birthday wishes. I also owe BK a huge apology for completely omitting him from my thanks since he was my first well wisher, and I blew it.
I am so sorry, BK!
-
Ann stopped by when she got home, and she and I had a piece of that beautiful cake that Kevin Duda sent me yesterday afternoon. It's a vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and chopped strawberries between the layers. The top is decorated with strawberry halves and white chocxolate. It looks glorious and tastes far better.
-
And that was my birthday. Today I will work on my concert work and maybe get a bit of tidying up accomplished.
-
I did not sleep well last night, and when I woke around 5:00 this mrning, I turned off the alarm and went back to bed, When I woke it was 6:30, so I'm running slow this morning. At least the cats are fed.
-
BK, have you thought about Meg Bussert for that duet? I love her, and I always felt she never got the stardom she deserved. My other thoughts were Penny Fuller, Jeanne Lehman, and Donna McKechnie..
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m tired.
-
TCB, have you tried acupuncture for your pain?
-
TOD:
Peter Bogdanovich
Jean-Luc Godard
Michelangelo Antonioni

I’m sure there are more.

Good morning

A lonely cricket has found his way into the house
-
He spent the night calling incessantly for a friend
-
I hope he finds his way out
-
Or I may have to let a toad loose in the house
-
Then I’ll probably need to get a heron to contend with a toad infestation
-
Next thing you know there’ll be alligators roaming the living room
-
Friggin cricket

On my 73rd birthday gathering in 2019 at Cafe Frida, which the pandemic sadly closed down, someone told the waiter it was my birthday, so I had to wear this silly sombrero whgile the waiters sang Happy Birthday to me.
-
Does
anyone Larry still wear a hat?
-
And good morning, friends.
-
Glad that you had a good day, DR elmore3003.
-
~~~CONTINUED PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for DR TCB.
-
I hope and pray that DR Dear Lurker Iris can find some resources to help. So kind of her to offer.
-
Two.
-
DB Elvis may not be making much noise yet, but Sophia sure is!
-
Great photo, Larry. The hat looks heavy.
-
Friggin cricket
Some autumns here, crickets are everywhere in San Antonio. This is one of those years. And no, they don’t sound like violins.
-
Well Jiminy!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Exhausted this morning, but I must get my energy up for the great keyboard move this afternoon.
-
Good morning!
That's a nice record - glad Miss Loren was thinking of all of those disk jockeys!
What's New Pussycat?
LOL.....I just remember laughing very hard at this exchange.
Woody Allen: I work at the Follies Bergere helping the girls change their clothes.
Someone: What's the pay?
Woody Allen: Twelve francs a week.
Someone: That's not much.
Woody Allen: It's all I can afford to pay them.
-
MR BK - I didn't find my musical quote in my perks pack.
-
Thanks for the comments on Elvis.....he is sitting watching me carefully in case I decide to do anything.
-
LOL DR Vixmom ;)
Three!
-
I think it was DR singdaw who asked me a couple of weeks ago about my Access-a-Ride status. When I had my interview on Aug. 8, I was told I would hear something in three weeks.
Well, today I heard from them. I am approved until September, 2027! And they send me a laminated card with my photo. I am very pleased.
-
Good news DR ELMORE.
-
Congrats to DR VIXMOM on her millstone.
-
Wow! Fantastic news, DR elmore3003. Now if they could just get rid of the few bad drivers and improve their customer service...
But great news, Elmore.
Okay, folks. Who would be stupid enough to cook chicken in Nyquil? Apparently this is a real thing on social media.
-
You snooze AND you lose! 8)
-
Coq-au-Nyq?
-
No thanks.
-
NYQ: Just Do It.
-
Or not.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! It’s been kind of a quiet day, but I have 2 consecutive Zooms starting in about an hour.
Coq-au-nyq. Love it.
Ginny, a name from the past came up today. Chardelle Weber (sp?). Did you know her? I probably asked you that ages ago.
-
Jrand, I haven't done the quote yet - have to find the music - it's not on my computer so I have to dig through some boxes.
-
I'm up, I'm up - around eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
Ginny, a name from the past came up today. Chardelle Weber (sp?). Did you know her? I probably asked you that ages ago.
Ah, yes. She was editor of the Women’s Page in the local paper. She and my mother-in-law were tight enough that the day after our wedding my picture and a nice write-up appeared prominently on page 2 of the Lifestyle section (or whatever it was called in 1981).
DR Elmore might also have a Chardy Weber story or two.
-
Thanks MR BK after an earlier post I was afraid I hadn't looked at the packing materials closely enough and had tossed it.
No rush......whenever it happens is fine.....
-
I watched Radio Days last night which always makes me laugh. And of course the music is wonderful....I love the soundtrack CD although it doesn't contain nearly enough songs!
My favorite scene is when the kid is taken to the Rabbi by his mother and father and they all demonstrate how they are ones that should be disciplining him by showing their techniques.
She called everybody honey in a deep, gravelly voice. And she was the life of the party.
Her partner in gossip was a woman named, I think, Iona Asher.
Page four is coming.
Believe it or not.
Four!
Believe it or not.
I don't.
Believe it, I mean.
When you forgot that your science project is due today.
-
I have been taking advantage of our lovely, end of the summer evenings and taking short walks.
-
I do believe my head is about to explode. Save for eating lunch, I have not stopped doing stuff, texting, e-mailing, and doing the script fixes, and re-writing Cindy's song.
-
elmore, Meg is too old for the remaining duet. She could have done the other one, but I got Karen Ziemba to do that one pretty early on.
-
'night
-
Good night, friends.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Bruce, I love the musical quote. Thank you. Thank you.
-
Watching the rest of Aline. I don’t know why they didn’t call it Celine. It’s all here down to My Heart Will Go On.
-
Where is everyone tonight?
-
Out celebrating Elmore’s birthday again?
-
That would be worth celebrating.
-
When you forgot that your science project is due today.
I love it! ;D
-
Rehearsal is going well.
-
We FINALLY have a complete cast!
-
We had our Patrick for the first time last night, and tonight, we have our Rudi Scherz...a small, but pivotal role that's only in one scene.
-
So, the problem with Aline is there’s little drama here. Girl with a freakish voice wants to be Barbra Streisand. She gets famous. She wants to get pregnant. She does. She sings like Tina Turner. She sings some more.
-
A complete cast! Congratulations, George.
-
Got your lines learned?
-
We have to be off book in two weeks! :o
-
A complete cast! Congratulations, George.
Thanks, John!
-
Got your lines learned?
What do you think?? ::)
-
You’re up to it.
-
Aline has ended with a too-mannered rendition of Nature Boy.
-
The star and director, Valerie Lemercier, won a Cesar for her performance. It’s a good piece of mimicry.
-
Makes me more interested in seeing Elvis.
-
At least it’s not Melvis, though I am sure it’s fairly fictional.
-
Five!
So I came home today to a letter from the Social Security Administration
-
After months of advising me that I must sign up for Medicare I have been advised that I have been declined
-
The reason being I am not old enough
-
I will be arriving at the local SSA office tomorrow before doors open
-
Armed with my birth certificate, my license, my marriage certificate and this letter
-
And a calculator
-
I shall ask them to tell me just how old they believe me to be
-
They do have my birthday listed in the letter
-
My correct birthdate
-
So as the kids say “ they can’t math”
-
Maybe I should bring former DR WFO along as well
-
As a retired university mathematics professor perhaps he can explain the complicated formula needed to calculate one’s age by subtracting a birthdate from the current date
-
Thank you all for the millstone congratulations
-
I shall try to stay humble on my lofty new perch
-
A Peter Sellers quote that nauseated my mother who saw it when I was ushering at the theater where it played in Greenville SC:
"I like thighs. Do YOU like thighs?"
I do not remember who he was saying that to
How you been, Ron?
-
Where is everyone tonight?
Here!!
-
My brother-in-law Mike is having a long overdue hip replacement tomorrow. Some of those HHW vibes would be appreciated.
-
How you been, Ron?
Somewhat adrift, I am sorry to say.
My sinus issues have intensified, and I stay medicated with little result other than snoozing a lot of my days away.
I test for COVID and continue to get negative results.
Sigh.
If vixmom needs a couple of more years to qualify for Medicaid, I'll gladly donate some.
-
I sympathize with your sinus issues. Is there something like ragweed blowing in since fall is here?
-
JB loves the box that the perks came in.
-
It’s time for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Sellers says the "thighs" line to Peter O'Toole in their first scene.
I think I'm done with trying to pay attention to viewing.
DR vixmom - so sorry about your run-in with the SSA. How utterly frustrating. Will be really eager to learn how it goes on Wednesday.
-
It reminds me of the Partridge Family episode where Danny gets drafted into the army. At age 11. Computer error.
-
DR John G., do you know about this book?
-
Do you want to try it out and send me samples? :)
You)’re too late, John. He has been gone now, for many years
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
So, am I to presume we're NOT having a get-together? Because that is not going to sit well with me, since there have been get-togethers when anyone comes in - I think the same thing happened last time. Let's not let it happen again.
