Well, you've read the notes, the notes' journey began, and now it is time for you to post until the journeying cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SEGUE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am not et awake, but I am out of bed, semi-dressed, and pondering my day. Annabelle's asleep in her cat food carton on my computer table I will never understand the allure of a cardboard box.
-
No sound from Thatch or Stella, so God knows what the fat hell they are up to.
-
I must pack up a shipment to be returned to a Florida company and get some major work accomplished on my overture. I relly need to vacuum, but I will do my best to procrastinate until tomorrow or Sunday.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR elmore3003, please make sure that one of your three beauties doesn't sneak into that parcel going to Florida.

Last night the NYC CBS News had a segment on this all-wmen's production of 1776.
A friend of Ann's whgo saw it over a month ago called it "And I am yelling you . . ."
I saw the original production about six months after it opened at the 46th Street Theatre, and it remains one of my most vivid theatrical memories. As to what I saw on the CBS News last night? Well, they're working overtime to make it relative to today's politics and the cast does a lot of butch singing. Nothing seems permitted to be subtle or understated.
And I am yelling you I'm not going.
-
Speaking of putrid, kitty cleanup was particularly nasty today. I think one of my babies - and I'm suspecting Annabelle or Thatch - is feeling poorly with gastrointestinal issues. We'll see how this progresses.

This is Banned Books Week. As a result, I’ve started reading All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson. Excellent memoir. Great advice, especially for parents. Plenty to enrage people because it uses common sense.
-
Fly a planeload of banned books to the Governor's mansion in Florida.

Good morning, all.

My mantra these mornings: Exhausted.
-
I think I'll actually feel more rested, or at ease with the world, once we're into tech week.

From the Washington Post’s book writer, Ron Charles:
I’ve read a lot of smart takes on censorship this year, but honestly the best thing I’ve run across recently is a new middle grade novel by Amy Sarig King called “Attack of the Black Rectangles.” The narrator is a sixth grader named Mac, a sensitive, curious kid with a tender heart and a strong sense of justice.
One day in school, the teacher hands out copies of “The Devil’s Arithmetic,” Jane Yolen’s 1988 novel about the Holocaust. While wrestling with the terrors of that story, a few students notice that certain words — like “breast” — have been blackened out with a Sharpie.
Offended by such censorship, Mac and his friends launch a crusade to defend their right to read. It’s a tough, often discouraging fight that brings the kids face-to-face with adults’ condescension and priggishness.

They’d just burn them.
-
.

Charles also talks about a new board game called The Shakespeare Game, which sounds fun. I haven’t played a board game in ages and don’t know anyone who would play such a game with me, but the board is supposedly beautiful. Color me intrigued, but not enough to spend $35 on it.

It sounds interesting.

Nice photo DR Jrand. Is Jesse much smaller than Elvis or is just that he is sitting on the lower perch?

DR JANE Jesse is smaller - I think he's a few weeks younger. He doesn't have his full length tail feathers yet.

The temp only got to 69 degrees here today.....too cold to sit on the porch in the rocker.....

Did you have to do any kind of contrast or was it an easy, street clothes still on and the scan?

Vixmom, did I miss the SSA employee's reaction to the error in the letter?
Maybe...
Oh my God! What a silly mistake!
OR
Yeah, this happens all the time.
OR
What kind of stunt are you trying to pull? It says right here that you are NOT 65! What more do you want??

I gave her my license, my birth certificate, my marriage certificate, and then said I understood I was required to sign up for Medicare part A with 3 months of turning 65 years old.
She agreed, and then I asked , “could you please tell me how old I am?”
-
Then I handed her the letter which said I wasn’t eligible because I wasn’t old enough
-
She looked at all the certificates
-
Looked at the letter
-
Checked the birthdate in the letter which matched my documents
-
Then she said” whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!!”
-
Then she typed something into her computer, stared at the screen and said ,”whaaaaaaaaaaat?!!”
-
Then she typed some more
-
And said “this is just ……whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!”
-
“Um, okay, wait….let me…..whaaaaaaaaaaat?!”
-
And so on for about 10 minutes
-
Then she typed madly for a little bit
-
Finally she said “ah! Okay! “
-
Then she spoke to me for the first time , “ Mrs. Vixmom, you are 65 years old”
-
CT scan took two minutes and cost me $350. I’d like to get paid like that.

When I returned home Keith was on his phone with a very important caller.

Freyja had called him.

When I got on the phone, with a little prompting from Bryan, she said "Hi Grammy".

She of course knew who she was calling, she just doesn't say our names very often :)

I ended up with black cherry lemon. Very nice.

Do you think the voice mail was actually Stephen Sondheim?
-
It really did sound like him.
-
Do you think the voice mail was actually Stephen Sondheim?
Yes, that was actually Stephen Sondheim, but it wasn't his actual, original voice mail to Jonathan Larson. I think that Sondheim originally didn't think that the script for the voice mail sounded like "him" so he offered to write and record something else that was.

I just made an appointment to get the updated Covid booster and a flu shot.
-
My appointment will be on Monday, October 24 at 4:10 pm.
-
There were slots available on Saturday the 22nd, but I will have a performance that night, so I figure, even though I had almost no reaction to the previous shots, I shouldn't chance it just before a performance. ::)

So I shan't. ;)
