Well, you've read the notes, the notes got together, and now it is time for you to post until the gotten together cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IRIDESCENT!
-
Good morning (almost afternoon here), all.
-
The wifi here doesn’t extend to the rooms here, so my posting will be light.
-
Walked down to the wine dark sea this morning. The water more teal and midnight blue, but it was beautiful.
-
The winds are strong, very strong.
-
I met a bright and beautiful beggar.
-
And the word of the day is: IRIDESCENT!
Dear Lurker Iridescent!
-
I have forgotten. Are there steps going down to Joe Allen from the sidewalk?
-
I signed off several hours ago, because I could no longer hang on to my iPad. Since then I have watched the clock showing the minutes tick away.
-
Really sharp pains this morning.
-
I’m so glad that John G. has arrived safely.
-
I guess I am too early for the morning crew.
-
I met a bright and beautiful beggar.
A beautiful bigger, for sure.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am very tired this morning.
-
DR TCB, yes, there are two steps dwn from the sidewalk to enter Joe Allen. I was a little worried about dealing with them, but DR vixmom was superlative aid getting down them and back up.
-
DR John G, Annabelle insists that little beggar is a relative,. I tell her she thinks that about every cat she sees. She ad I are both happy you have arrived safely.
-
Last night's HHW gathering was much fun. O"ur DR ChasSmith picked me up shortly after 5:00, and when we pulled up at Joe Allen, DRs vixmom and William Orr were out front. DR vixmom helped me out of DR ChasSmith's car and onto my walker. She, William "orr, and I wet into Joe Allen's while DR ChasSmith parked his car. My memory is that he and BK entered around the same time. BK's comments about Joe Allen in the notes are spot on. Their wonderful penne with sausage is no longer on the menu, but the meat loaf was good as ever, and the banana cream pie slices are still enormous,
-
This morning, Access-a-Ride will take me to my pharmacy for my meds and then take me to my barber for a much needed haircut. When I get home, I plan to crash for some time.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I honestly don't think I slept more than three or four hours, exactly what I did not need to happen. All this lack of sleep for nine days is getting to my throat and I really don't want to get sick.
-

A family of cats. All are family.

Monday morning greetings! I was E & T this weekend because my sister and I were doing a virtual crafty event. Niece Laura was supposed to join us, but she’s had other things on her mind. Her home sustained some exterior damage and one broken window, but it will be habitable when the utilities are restored. That may take a while because there’s a broken water pipe right under her house.
-
Of course, I would love to have been at Joe Allen last night…
-
Good morning to all
-
It was quite the day yesterday. I left the house at 3:00 pm, topped off the tank at BJ's ($2.95), and got on the highway with what normally is time to spare. Because one learns to always build in extra time when driving into the city.
Just outside of Danbury, disaster struck in the form of road repair at a major (very major) interchange that I had known nothing about. It cost everyone there - count 'em - 30 minutes to cover ground that usually takes a little over one (1) minute. Lesson learned: Just because one is in one's own territory and knows these roads like the back of one's hand, one must no longer hit the road to ANYWHERE without first picking up one's device and checking traffic. Never again. What, ever? No, never.
I called and warned DR Elmore about the delay. There were a couple more little things that slowed us down, but I took every advantage and drove as aggressively as I was willing to do and stay safe, and I was on the Upper West Side only five minutes after the appointed time. Fortunately, the amount of time we'd built into the short trek to the theeder district was more than sufficient and we pulled up in front of Joe Allen like royalty, DR Elmore got out, I got parked a block and a half away, walked back, and there was BK, walking from the other direction.
-
I haven’t been around for two reason. 1) I was in Canada visiting family for the first time in three years. 2) The day before I left I tripped and fell at work and injured my left knee. I’ve been in pain since and it has been difficult to walk. Waiting to hear back from the Workman’s Comp to start physical therapy
-
I have forgotten. Are there steps going down to Joe Allen from the sidewalk?
There are two narrow steps that can be a bit difficult to traverse
-

John I would love to see photos of the sea!

Dinner and the company were wonderful, and I must share the observations about the differences from just a few years ago. The meatloaf and fries (I was suddenly in the mood for fries over the mashed) and spinach were wonderful, the hot fudge pudding cake was obscenely delicious in spite of its downsizing, and I indulged in non-diet Cokes and coffee...to which I probably owe the success of a safe trip home which -- are you sitting down? -- included a 20-minute detour around an accident or something that had transpired on the Saw Mill Parkway.
-
But oh man, DR Elmore's mention of penne with sausage has me salivating even now. Could I have some for breakfast, please?
-
I met a bright and beautiful beggar.
That is indeed one lovely beggar.
-
I am so tired this morning
-
Of course the grey and rainy weather is very conducive to just going back to bed
-
I’ve brought my car to the mechanic this morning to get an oil change, replace the rolling mechanism in the left rear passenger door and repair the glove box that fell out of the dashboard last week ( my fault, I overstuffed it and brackets broke)
-
The mechanic greeted me with a huge smile ( unsurprisingly as I’ve been a regular this year, I’ve probably bought him a boat )
-
Good morning.
-
Sounds like all ya'll had a great time last night.
-
Ah well, I need the car in tip top condition for our Florida trek
-
I hope your knee feels better soon, Michael.

It was so wonderful to see everyone again

Alas, Violet did not get her desired birthday cake.

I demanded ( and received) hugs from everyone on arrival and departure

Oh no! Was she heartbroken?
-
Well I must get me to work!
-
Have a good day, all!

We love you for it, DR vixmom. ;D

Good morning, friends.

Access-a-Ride was early, so I got to the pharmacy for my meds, cancelled the ride to the barber shop rather than wait for 45 minutes, took a taxi to hte barber, walked home, and opened the apartment just before 11:00, the time for my barber appointment. All in all, a good morning.

From Vixmom:
For those who haven’t guessed my +1 was former DR William F. Orr
I expect I wasn't the only one who knew all along he was to be your +1 ;)

Of course she does. I just loved our the locals fed the cats when we were in Greece.

And we are wrapped for the NYC shoot. I was super overtired and had to be very strong about certain things - and I actually got snippy with my cameraman because I had a very specific plan and he wanted to do things in a different order - he was probably right, but I got bored of having to explain myself so much - in the end, we compromised and it all worked out fine. Sami had two very big songs to do and that was my concern - the first part of the day was all audience stuff - several lines and entrances and gabbing to shoot and all that took three hours and then we had to have a half-hour lunch break. So, we didn't begin the numbers until after one o'clock. The issue was that everyone told me we were a hard out at three-thirty - at around two someone informed me that there was nothing in the club tonight and we could stay later. Had I known that, the entire vibe of the day would have been very different. But we got through the numbers around 3:45, which was fine.
-
The Katz's plan changed and we're going somewhere close to me now - never heard of the jernt but it's Eyetalian and at 55th and Broadway. Not going there until seven.
-
I hope you sleep well tonight.
-
It was drizzling pretty good as I walked back to where I'm staying. I really want the rain to completely stop by tomorrow and not come back until Wednesday.
-
Bruce, "no bread and butter on the table ever." I am surprised by that. I have noticed most places don't automatically offer it anymore, some even charge extra. Do they not have any bread, even a side roll or slice if you want it on your plate?
-
SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES TOMORROW!
-
We probably should have asked about bread and butter. I would certainly have enjoyed some. We talked about it for half a second, and went on to other things.
-
SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES TOMORROW!
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
-
Glad you are wrapped, BK. Heck, just reading about it and thinking about it made me nervous, but all's well in the end.
-
And now all that's left to do is celebrate.
-
And pack.
-
I agree with DR Jane - hope you can sleep well tonight.
-
Tomorrow is a travel day.
Echoing ~~~SUPER SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~
And with one more...
-
Well, one more yet...
This is a beautiful piece, if a bit long. It is about a long out-of-print children's book, The Dark Wood of the Golden Birds, which the author, Margaret Wise Brown (who also wrote Goodnight, Moon), wrote as the great love of her life, female Michael Strange, lay in a coma. The excerpted poetry and illustrations are really lovely.
-
I recall the beautiful story. Thank you for sharing this, and the inspiration of the story.
-
You are welcome, DR Jane.
-
Really hoping that there is some relief in sight for dear DR TCB.
-
Back from a nice celebratory dinner at a jernt called Serafina. Very good. Had a Caesar salad and penne a la vodka with some chicken.
-
The room heat is now working since the temps have been under fifty. It's VERY warm and I like it. It's been raining pretty good.
-
Marked down. Better get it while it's hot.
Oops. Never mind, link didn't work! Later!
Whoa, DR ChasSmith!
I wonder how much that differs from the published vocal score?
-
I have, or had, one of those, from Tams-Witmark, but it's for Fiorello!
-
It's in Mathilde Pincus's distinctive hand.
-
OK, this is stilly.
We can't let page five stand.
-
With so few to go.
-
I mean, really.
That would be a travesty.
And we can't have that.
So we won't.
We'll simply march on.
Good night, friends.
Yikes! :o
-
And we're off! Tonight's the first night off-book!
Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
-
A lull...and I've been home for more than an hour and a half. ::)
-
The rehearsal...happened.
-
We got through all of act one, and the first scene of act two.
-
I was VERY rough, but that was to be expected...not being professional actors, and all.
-
;)
-
Tomorrow, we'll start with act two, scene 2 and finish the act, then I think we'll work on some individual scenes.
-
We'll also have a preliminary costume parade, so that'll be fun.
BK, you should have told the cameraman that you have a whole website of people who you have gotten snippy with; and we all lived through it.
-
Thank you all for the positive vibes!
-
I think in Season Two, Sami should get an acting job in Seattle!
