Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a bout of nausea, and now it is time for you to post until the nauseous cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CADENCE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, I am very happy for your successful opening.
-
I did not sleep well. Bdetween 1:00 and 2:00 I was wide awake, playing with Thatch who lay next to med.b Annabelleb withdrew to her mountain aerie in the bookcases, and Stella, who galloped onto the bed and lay next to me for several hours, showed uyp several times during the night rto leap around the bed before lying down with me for several minutes bewfore gallopiung off again.
Then Annabelle decided to return to mer and she crawled under the blankets to get close to me and warm up, She left me at some point, and then returned around 4:00 for another warm up session.
-
I would have liked to sleep in at that point, but I have a date with Access-a-Ride this morning - a trip they have screwed up twicew already - to go to the East Side and get a PSA test.
-
Randy's surgery finished around 2:00, Jo says he's fine but in a lot of pain and loaded down with tubes and monitors. The triple bypass turned out to be a quadruple bypass.
-
DR vixmom, I hadn't realized that you were already on the road after the flooding. I hope all is good in Deer ark and that youyr holiday is wonderful.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~CONTINUING TRAVEL VIBES~~ for the vixes.
-
And for DR elmore3003 this morning, as well.
-
Happy to read of DR George's Opening Night.
-
DR TCB made me laugh with some of his late-night posts, as always.
-
~~~STAYING HEALTHY VIBES~~~ for BK and indeed, for us all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Very glad to hear Randy is in recovery. It's a huge operation, and a life saver.
-
Congrats on opening night for DR George!

The road awaits!
-
I'm told my car will arrive in 13 minutes. After the PSA test, I will go to a local jeweler and get a new watch band and battery for my Mickey Mouse. It's been hell without him for the past weeks.
-
I always hold my breath after a post like this to see if he made it.
-
Silence is a good thing in these situations.
-
In the meantime, here is an Irish wolfhound. With two sub-woofers.
-
I always hold my breath after a post like this to see if he made it.
I do, too. Because, as we all know, Access-a-Ride giveth and Access-a-Ride taketh away.

My first miss in many moons.
I had the last four letters after the first two words. But, there were NINE (count 'em 9) choices for the first letter. I had only four out of nine chances to pick the right one.
I should have gone alphabetically. Today, I couldn't catch a break!
-
There is absolutely nothing new to report about Johnston.
Nada.
Zilch.
Zero.
Since my aunt died 11 months ago, I don't hear about anything from anyone much any more.
I guess I need to be more sociable.
-
The coming week sees two doctor's appointments.
On Wednesday, I have my quarterly (i.e., routine) visit with my cardiologist.
On Thursday morning, I have dental surgery (getting two implants). Yikes. Well, actually it won't be bad at all. I will be asleep during the surgery, so a few minutes after I sit in the chair, I will be sedated and will think only a minute or so will have elapsed when I open my eyes again. And it will be done! That's MY kind of dental procedure. Of course, I must have someone drive me there, wait and then drive me back
Family steps in!!!

For the first time in a while, I shall end a page.
-
And for the first time in a while, I shall start a page.
-
I would do that for you, DR Ron Pulliam, if I lived nearby.
-
Alas, I do not.
-
~~~SPEEDY RECUPERATION VIBES~~~ for DB Randy!!!!!!!!
Woody Allen:
I love his films, even the misses, but I haven't seen the one BK mentioned. My favorite of all his films is "Hannah and Her Sisters". I did like "Midnight in Paris", though.
-
I would do that for you, DR Ron Pulliam, if I lived nearby.
Thank you for that, David!!
-
I have red the notes.
-
I hope DR ELMORE is on his way to and from and back.
-
Good news from DR GEORGE!
Driving vibes for DR VIXMOM on her trek.
-
Vibes for DR RON PULLIAM on his medical and dental appts. next week!
-
Hmmm......without looking it up, I am not sure of the chronology of Mr. Woody Allen's films.....but those I like the most are:
Hannah & Her Sisters
Radio Days
Annie Hall
-
Made it to Paros. It’s fairly chilly, extremely windy and raining lightly.
-
Not the best weather to be sure.
-
I wasn’t a fan of Midnight in Paris. I did like parts of Cafe Society.
-
I think we’d have to go back to Bullets over Broadway for the last I really liked.
-
That’s sad, because that’s about midway through his career.
-
Made it to Paros.
As DR TCB said, you'll always have Paros.
-
I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a Woody Allen film since Hannah and Her Sisters.
-
Deconstructing Harry and Irrational Man are probably my least favorite.
-
Does that make me a troglodyte?
-
Perhaps a monkey's uncle.
-
Made it to Paros.
As DR TCB said, you'll always have Paros.
I hope I enjoy midnight in Paros more than Midnight in Paris.
-
And I am home. Test done, jeweler visted, and AAR went pretty well. I have a watch on my wrist, and I am ready to make pasta sauce.
I'm up, I'm up - let's break it down - slept from ten to one, got up and wrote the notes, slept from two to eight, but stayed in bed until nine-thirty. I think that's eight hours somehow.
-
DR George, I am very happy for your successful opening.
Thanks, Larry! And thanks Iris and BK for your comments last night!
So cute! ;D
-
Good news from DR GEORGE!
Thanks, Jrand!
-
From DR John:
I read The Marriage Portrait. I loved most of it, but it seemed to run out of steam near the end. I’m going to reread it when I get back. Maybe it was just my mood.
Thanks. I was thinking that one looks interesting. Mood often changes our appreciation of a book.
-
Oh TCB, what an idiot. Once again, scary someone like that is delivering the news and people are believing it.
-
From TCB:
Tom Thumb playing the violin.
;D
-
DR George I am very pleased your evening was a good one.
In the meantime, here is an Irish wolfhound. With two sub-woofers.
Keith & I love Irish Wolfhounds.
Vibes both visits go well. I have never slept through dental surgery.
Not the best weather to be sure.
No, especially the wind. At least when we were on extremely windy Mykonos it was summer.
-
DR George I am very pleased your evening was a good one.
Thanks, Jane!
The winds have picked ip this evening. It’s like Wyoming out there.
-
Got a 100 pages or so further into Zola’s Earth. Not my favorite. And I still have 300 or so pages left.
-
Had an excellent dinner tonight. Stuffed cabbage rolls in a lemon sauce. Lamb in a lemon sauce. Lemon pie.
-
Oh yeah, and kolokithokeftedes.
-
I’m beginning to fade.
Funny, I don't recall Wyoming being terribly windy.
Oh yeah, and kolokithokeftedes.
Do you like them as much as you like saying the word ;)
I have never read anything by Patricia Cornwell. After reading this interview I am rethinking that. (https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/patricia-cornwell-m-not-scared-190000541.html)
Has anyone read her books?
-
Hello from Kissimmee
-
Almost there, or maybe you are there by now.
-
I found out that had the wind not changed direction I would have seen the presidents plane land last night.
-
Darn.
-
It does explain why I didn't see any other planes land or take off while I was out walking.
-
Greetings from the theeder.
-
Page three! We don't need no stinking page three.
-
Get me off this damn Patti Page.
There is an article in Vulture with a young actress who's in the current thing on B'way, 1776. She gives one of the most ignorant and horrid interviews you will ever read. And, of course, a few people defend her "speaking her truth." I don't know who on earth would hire such a person, certainly I would not. Just search Vulture and 1776 and you'll find it easily. The co-director of the show made a scathing response.
-
Scathing, I tell you.
-
Positively scathing, oh, yes, positively scathing.
-
She is sadly too typical of some of today's actors. If she'd given this interview twenty years ago she would have been fired from the show and that would have been applauded. She would never have worked again. But, she's getting lots of action on Twitter, where she's even more offensive, and that's clearly what she craves - she basically says that about Instagram followers in the interview. I would never enter a theater where this person was doing whatever it is she actually does.
-
That interview is shocking but not surprising in today's climate.....the response was kind of like the judge speaking to Darrell Brooks aka ?
-
I am seeing several sports announcers and commentators wearing suit jackets and sports coats without lapels and collars.
It is a most interesting look.....no tie usually.....I guess this is a coming thing. We shall see.
-
DR RON PULLIAM if there is a community theatre group in your area, you might attend a couple of shows and see how organized they are. If they seem to have it together, you can audition for a show or volunteer to run the lights or sound......talk about increasing your social time - it will be surprisingly fun.
And you will meet folks with similar interests. Donate $25 or so and get on the mailing list.....get them familiar with your face and name.
-
And before you know it, you'll be playing Alfred Doolittle or Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady!
Here it is...if anyone wants to read it:
1776’s Sara Porkalob Has Some Notes (https://www.vulture.com/2022/10/1776-star-sara-porkalob-interview-molasses-to-rum.html).
The actress behind the musical’s most explosive number on bringing a “dusty, old thing” to Broadway and the mistakes made along the way.
-
It was too long for me to read-lol
-
I went for a beautiful warm, windy evening walk.
-
Of course tonight the planes are landing in the "correct" direction ;D
-
Watching Martha Stewart's gardening show, and learning that her family came from Kos.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Gratuitous Post #102!!
-
And we're at places!
-
And I have two scenes before I enter, so I don't have to be ready just yet.
-
This sentence in the Vulture article is MOST telling;
It’s also inviting our audiences to consider how our country was founded without the consideration of people like our cast in mind.
Never mind that most of the racial makeup of the people this references weren't founding the country. Weren't even IN the country. Only the slaves were considered and that was a major part of 1776.
And NONE of the founders were non-binary, thank you.
Today I watched three (count 'em 3) movies:
First, I watched "Hocus Pocus 2" on Disney+. The three returning ladies were terrific. They've hardly aged, noticeably, since the 1993 film. Otherwise, it's pedestrian kiddy fare, IMO.
Next, I watched "The Langoliers" on YouTube. This is the Stephen King TV movie from 1995. I enjoyed it back then, and it's still very entertaining. Poor Dean Stockwell plays a character he just doesn't have the flair for. He tosses off some "dear boy" endings to some of his comments and it doesn't ring true at all. Bronson Pinchot is absolutely mesmerizing.
And last, I watched "John Carter", also on Disney+. I guess I'm one of the very few who find the movie extremely well made and entertaining. It has a wonderful music score by Michael Giacchino, and it's beautifully produced. Sets, costumes, special effects, photography are all first-rate.
-
I spent my evening watching the Clemson Tigers play the Florida State Seminoles. Clemson won 34-27. Their lead with five minutes left in the game was 34-14, so the Seminoles fought very hard toward the end to close the gap.
-
The Seattle Mariners just lost to the Houston Astros in the longest playoff game in MLB history...1 to 0 in 18 innings! :o
-
And now, act two!
-
Just finished reading that interview with the person playing Rutledge in 1776.
-
I had no interest in seeing it, but wouldn’t go even if offered a comp.
-
Great choice of words by the co-director: You are unwise,ungrateful, and corrupt to the core.
-
All criticisms deserved.
Would not want to work in that environment.
-
Now, she/they posts online how lucky Broadway is to have her/them.
-
Openly admits to only giving a 75% performance, and is quite pleased with that.
Must be awfully chilly in the dressing room.
-
Looking forward to reading about DR George’s show tonight.
-
DR Vixmom, have a wonderful time in Florida with the Vixter and family.
-
As for the TOD…
I like many Woody Allen films, especially Crimes and Misdemeanors, Manhattan, Annie Hall, and Husbands and Wives.
-
And now that we're so close...
-
PAGE FIVE IRIS' 1001st POST DANCE!!
-
And I totally missed MY own 114000th, so here's my 114114th! ;D
-
Well, tonight, I got through most of the show without a goober, but one reared it's ugly head near the end of the show...it was obvious, but I was able to get out most of the necessary information. ::)
-
Wow!
Thank you, George, for reminding me of my new HHW status!
And congrats on yours!
-
I dropped the line, "You're in debt up to your eyeballs!" which sets up the next couple of lines I have, but then I think I sort of melded the other two lines together and barreled through until I got to the important line, which I did get correct!
-
Wow!
Thank you, George, for reminding me of my new HHW status!
And congrats on yours!
Thank you!
-
Sounds like you were able to move on with minimal disruption.
Hope so!
-
Just saw your last comment.
Had a feeling you recovered quickly.
Possible that the audience didn’t even notice.
-
Sounds like you were able to move on with minimal disruption.
Hope so!
It's live theater...it is what it is. ;) HOPEFULLY, I'll stop making goobers onstage, because I DO (now) know all my lines.
-
Those few moments when you drop a line can feel like hours.
-
Just saw your last comment.
Had a feeling you recovered quickly.
Possible that the audience didn’t even notice.
No...it was noticeable, but at least it wasn't the end of the show where the murderer is actually revealed, and I know that THAT is what people really care about.
-
Those few moments when you drop a line can feel like hours.
I KNOW!! I hate that!
-
Do you have a Sunday matinee?
-
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone!
-
DR TCB made me laugh with some of his late-night posts, as always.
Thank you, David. I am here for your enjoyment.
-
Do you have a Sunday matinee?
Yes, tomorrow and the next two Sundays at 2:00 pm.
-
My mom and a couple of her friends are coming next Sunday (NOT tomorrow).
-
Lost interest after the second or third.
T.O.D.
I have never been a big Woody Allen. I enjoyed SLEEPER. I think the last film of his I watched / enjoyed was PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO.
-
Congratulations to Iris and George on their new plateaus
-
With no more steroids, I am back to square one with this carpal tunnel.
-
The pain is horrible and I can’t hold on to anything.
-
Perhaps I should record myself trying to eat soup?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
