Well, you've read the notes, you've noted in the notes that The Batman met The Elvis, and now it is time for you to post until the bat cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CARICATURE!
-
“Why I Oughta”…
George you were wondering who originated that phrase.
-
Was it Ralph Kramden on The Honeymooners?
-
Or was it Moe on The Three Stooges?
-
Maybe BK, or others here can solve this mystery.
-
Soon, Jane and Keith will be waking up at an obscene hour to get ready to leave for the airport.
I have had to do the same, far too often.
-
Wishing both of you a smooth flight, fair skies, no delays, and a warm and wonderful reunion with your beloved Freija. ❤️
-
Was it Ralph Kramden on The Honeymooners?
Or was it Moe on The Three Stooges?
Thanks for the theories, Iris! I think I've heard both of them, but I don't know.
-
Topic of the Day: I think the only movies that I've seen this year were Bros and Thor: Love and Thunder. And I bought (but haven't yet watched, and I don't know why I bought it ::) ) Three Thousand Years of Longing.
-
Why I oughta... - The Honeymooners.
-
We only steal from the best.
-
And then I wrote...
-
Ham-fisted.
-
Can there also be bacon-fisted or steak-fisted?
-
Simple as pie. Is pie really simple?
-
Does the rain in Spain stay mainly on the plain or the plane?
-
Good morning, all!
-
The alarm rang at 6:00, but I was so happy snuggled under the blankets with Annabelle that we stayed in a bit longer. Thatch stopped by around 4:15, long enough for me to pet and cuddle a bit before he ran off. Then Annabelle showed up wanting to be under the blankets.
-
I slept rather well. There were several dreams, but I only remember the last one: I was at a band rehearsal for some gala and I had two charts, one for the Sondheim song "What More Do I Need?" which would be sung by Liz Callaway and Zero Mostel (seriously!). Someone - Tommy Krasker, maybe? - was dictating what I should write. Then the other song came up - I cannot remember now what it was, but I had scored what I was given with no input as to singer or mood - and it was terrible. My friend Michael Lavine was playing piano with the band, and I had to listen to this misguided work I'd done while Larry Blank and Jonathan Tunick made fun of it. I was completely humiliated.
-
Today, I hope to organize the top drawer of my nightstand. I also need to vacuum.
-
I am very sorry about the call for the House of Representatives, We have at least a year of listening to these MAGA morons plot against Biden and Harris in payback for the treatment of their Fat Orange Baboon idol.
-
I think I've seen two movies from 2022 or late 2021: West Side Story and Downton Abbey.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
I think the Senate will take up the investigation efforts the January 6 committee started.
Happily, most of their findings are now in the hands of the Department of Justice.
-
I have dental surgery this morning, the fates willing.
It has been postponed twice by the surgeon because of my blood pressure.
I took my pills LATE last night, and early this morning so that I can take my midday pill an hour before surgery. If that doesn't keep my BP down, I don't know what will!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Surgery vibes for Ron.
-
:)
But...and I cannot stress this more strongly...HOLD the "mobster" sauce.
-
~~~APPOINTMENT VIBES~~~ for DR Ron Pulliam!!!!! Think calming thoughts.
~~~CONTINUED SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR Jane and DH Keith.

Somehow I don't think she'll have time to read them here before her departure.
-
We have a "feels like" of 16 degrees going on here at the moment.
-
Fourteen and a half hours of darkness.
-
Darkness and Coldness. An unbeatable combo.
-
Excellent biopsy result vibes for John
-
Dental vibes for Ron
-
Travel vibes for Jane and Keith
-
Congratulations to Bk and Chas on their nominations
-
Yesterday i went into Brooklyn right after work to hear Martyna Majok, the playwright of Cost of Living, talk about the show.
-
John, David Zayas took part as well, performing his opening monologue and answering questions in the Q&A that followed
-
Afterwards there was an informal mingle and I was able to have lovely chats with both of them.
-
It was a small crowd, about 30 people
-
Quite intimate and fun
-
I got home about 10, chatted with Vixdad a bit then went to bed
-
I remember no dreams
-
Well…Wordle awaits

Soon, Jane and Keith will be waking up at an obscene hour to get ready to leave for the airport.
I have had to do the same, far too often.
It is awful, and poor Keith did not sleep at all.
-
Boarding is almost over.
-
Hopefully we will soon be in the air.

Time to turn my phone off.
-
Have a good day.
-
And one more.
-
Three!!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had another terrific allergy-type sinus attack as I was getting ready for bed last night, from which I am more or less recovered, but sheesh.
-
Fortunately, it's a ME day. I have specific things I need to accomplish, but I can take it easy for a while longer before jumping in.
-
Surgery vibes for Ron.
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
-
Continued travel vibes for DR JANE & KEITH.
Surgery vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
Good test result vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
I liked the sentencing part of the trial yesterday when the judge was reading quotes from Darrell Brooks' telephone calls from jail and other communications......and every other word was a swear word or a bad name......
-
I went to the stores today and got some this and that.
And when I got home the only thing that fell out of the bag and hit the floor was a glass candle.......CRASH!!! Just a small one.
-
TOD:
Elvis - with some reservations.
Knives Out 2
Downton Abbey - but that may have been late 2021.
Ticket To Paradise with George & Julia.
And I am looking forward to DEADPOOL 3 - which now they say we won't see until 2024.
-
Thanks Jrand
-
We made it to Chicago, now have a 2 hour wait.
-
I am relieved the snow flurries that greeted us have stopped and hope we don't have snow.
-
Dental surgery completed!!!
A major relief!!
There is some pain...and there are pain meds.
Nothing I cannot tolerate, pain-wise. Happily, I needn't "tolerate" any.
That's great, DR Ron Pulliam. Thanks for the update.
MSNBC seems centered on Nanc Pelosi's stepping down today.
Very good news, Ron!
-
DR Ron, YAY!
-
On the plane but they hsve to de ice it before takeoff.
-
Time to turn my phone off.
-
MSNBC seems centered on Nanc Pelosi's stepping down today.
It's historic in its way. She removed herself from consideration as House minority leader by doing this.
-
Who can blame her for stepping down, when so many of the Republicans have encouraged the violence that Trump foments?
-
I'm up, I'm up - I guess I got eight hours in all - for the first time in over two weeks I had a couple of rough hours around four, then the handyman came at nine-thirty, then I slept till one when I went back to bed at ten.
-
Five minutes after arising, handyman returned - he ended up buying a whole new faucet, which he is now installing.
-
Everything but the kitchen sink, eh?
-
I shall probably watch the PICKLE special tonight to learn more about the game.
-
Bon Voyage for DR JANE & KEITH as they continue on their trip.
-
Great news from DR RON PULLIAM!
-
Food's almost here - a nice Eyetalian sandwich from Fat Sal's. They had some promotion going on I didn't even see, so even with tip, tax, and fees, the total was one dollar less than if I'd driven over there to get it.
-
Sandwich eaten - very good!
-
Show order done - very good!
-
Page three dispensed with - very good!
-
Where are all our lovely postings today? Not very good.
-
Surely, someone must have something to say about something?
-
We can't be bereft of comments?
-
That would be most unseemly.
-
New faucet thing is much better than old faucet thing so I'm glad we got new faucet thing.
-
Maybe I'll start cobbling together some commentary.
-
Maybe I’ll start cobbling together some cobbler.
-
Peach?
-
Apple?
-
Cherry?
-
All of the above?
-
Glad your dental ordeal is over, Ron.
-
Nancy Pelosi has been a superb Speaker of the House.
I will miss her.
-
I loved it when she ripped up the twice impeached, disgraced, ex-President’s speech after the State of the Union address. 😄
-
Am hoping that her successor will carry on in her bold , classy, intelligent leadership style.
-
Commentary finished - very good!
-
Still on page four - very bad.
-
Go know.
-
Bon Voyage for DR JANE & KEITH as they continue on their trip.
Thank you. We are now relaxing in our hotel room.
-
I am intrigued by pickleball and know very little about it, so I think I shall tape and watch that. Thanks for the reminder, DR Jrand72.
-
Glad you made it, DR Jane, and that you didn't experience any major travel hiccups.
-
Traveling makes me nervous and anxious.
-
Thank for thise who sent vibes last night. They worked.
-
Bruce we used to always be iff somewhere, not anymore.
-
I am trying to correct that.
-
They still are not able to call Boebert's race.
-
Shall we skip ahead with alacrity?
-
With dandelions in our hair; with abandon?
-
Five, at least.
-
Or is it at last?
-
Alas?
-
Alack?
-
Started in on the latest season of The Crown tonight.
-
Hidden Valley's answer to the Elf on a Shelf is: Ranch on a Branch.
-
For what it's worth.
-
And I'm telling you, it ain't worth much.
-
And that's the news that's fit to print.
-
Although I don't know why they don't print to fit.
-
'Tis a puzzlement.
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE VIBES OF ALL SORTS~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!
-
Current "feels like" is 13 degrees.
-
We saw the sun for the first time in a week for approximately 5 minutes.
-
Then the snow returned.
-
Since I have the benefit of working from home, I have nothing to complain about.
-
And, currently, no dog to have to take out.
-
Pretty soon, it will be seasonally appropriate to wonder as we wander.
-
Which we can certainly do all year round.
-
But now when we do it, it's seasonally appropriate.
-
So there's that.
-
Feel free to scroll on by, folks.
-
If Bacharach wrote "Walk on By" today, would it be "Scroll on By"?
-
By the By?
-
Buy the buy?
-
Shiver me timbers
-
We'll make it to page six yet!
-
With all my blarney.
-
Or bologna.
-
OK - that's it.
-
Six!
-
Good night, friends.
-
And that's the news that's fit to print.
Or all the news that fits the print.
-
Good night, friends.
G'night!
-
I was so very disappointed this evening when I discovered my Thursday shows are re-runs. "Ghosts" was episode 6 from the first season.
And no "So Help Me Todd"!!!!
I hope Jack is enjoying all the "pickle ball" exhibition.
-
Frankly, I'll be going to bed momentarily. Am wiped out today.
And I took my second pain pill at 8 p.m.
Sleepy I am.
-
We are having a hard freeze tonight.
No records will be set (happily), but tonight's low should get to 25.
-
Yikes. We’re only getting to 30 tonight, here in the Nutmeg State.
-
Watching Elvis. I suspect it's also going to be two and a half hours. I'm at the hour thirty point.
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE VIBES OF ALL SORTS~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!
DITTO!
-
Excellent news about the surgery, Ron.
-
Back to The Gilded Age. Kelli O'Hara and Audra have just showed up.
-
TOD:
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Marry Me
The Northman (I laughed at parts when I watched it, but the movie has had a strange hold in memory)
Downton Abbey: A New Era
Mr. Malcolm's List
The Outfit
Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris
-
I agree with BK's comments on the length of The Batman. It needed to lose at least 30 minutes.
But I liked the darkness. Bats are creatures of the night, and the movies should be, too.
-
Poor Deborah Monk. Her racist role in Gilded Age mirrors too closely her racist role in Mercy Street.
-
Good news from Ron
-
Congratulations on the successful dental surgery
-
Good news from Jane
-
Congratulations on arriving at your destination!
-
Now I need good news from John for the trifecta
-
Vibes and prayers for TCB
-
Does anyone have a phone # for him?
-
Vibes and prayers for Tom.
-
I'm off to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
I just confirmed plans with two friend# to travel down to Bethesda Maryland in December to see The Tempest at the Roundhouse Theatre
-
Good night John
-
That is the question - does anyone have a way to contact TCB?
-
Still watching Elvis - at the two hour and five minute mark.
-
Taking a food break - had my sandwich earlier, so am now having a single chicken breast from California Chicken Cafe.
-
Kind of a nothing day - which was fine with me.
-
I'm home and need to ketchup on today's posts.
-
I was supposed to work concessions tonight for the Seattle International Comedy Competition, but plans changed.
-
Let me just say FUCK!! >:(
-
Yup...I said it...and this is why:
-
I went to Subway for lunch, and was only there for a little more than a half hour...nothing unusual about that.
-
When I came out to my car, there was glass on the ground on the passenger side and my window had been smashed in!
-
I was given a bag of audio cassettes tapes and CDs from my friend Shelly to either donate to the library (the CDs...the library won't take cassettes), or keep.
-
I hadn't even had a chance to go through any of the recordings to see what all was there.
-
Anyway, that's what was taken, just the bag on the passenger side seat.
-
FORTUNATELY, that's all that was taken, AND they didn't smash the windshield or the back window.
-
The dealer can fix the side windows in house.
-
I called Tumwater's non-emergency number and was told to fill out the form online.
-
I did that, and got a case number (there's no way to find out who did this :P ). I just wanted to make sure that it was documented.
-
I then called my insurance company and gave them the info, and someone will hopefully call me tomorrow.
-
I have a $100 deductible, and the dealer told me that the window (I'm assuming just the window, not including tax and labor) would be around $315-$320 or so.
-
I did let my supervisor and a few other co-workers know what happened, and tell them that I didn't know when I'd be back from "lunch," just that I would be.
-
I was able to drive the car back to my work and finish up a few things, then I went to my sister's to see if I could vacuum out some of the glass.
-
My sister has very long extension cords for a vacuum, and I don't...just the vacuum.
-
I was able to get some of the glass out, but not all of it.
-
Here's one before picture:
-
And another:
-
It was getting late and I was just too frustrated with not really knowing how to use my sister's vacuum that I decided to go home and see if I could borrow her extension cords and vacuum it with my vacuum in my garage.
-
I had a few garbage bags still in my garage, but I was able to move them out of the way and get my car in my garage.
-
HOWEVER, it's a small one-car garage, and with the stupid wooden shelves that I hadn't taken out yet, there wasn't very much room to even open my car doors, let alone have room to get a vacuum around the car to clean up the glass. :o
-
So, unless I can get my window fixed tomorrow and have the dealer clean up the rest of the glass (he said hopefully!), I'll clean up the glass on Saturday.
-
My sister is very kindly letting me borrow her car until I can get mine fixed.
-
She works from home, but has tomorrow and all next week off, so she's not in immediate need of it.
-
I would just need it to go to work then my mom's tomorrow, then to usher on Saturday.
-
And the car isn't even six month's old.
-
PAGE EIGHT...no dance, just page eight.
-
;)
-
But it was totally a situational robbery.
-
I parked my car behind some trees that blocked views from most sides, and had a bag of audio cassettes and CDs sitting in the front passenger seat.
-
Then, someone walked by and saw an opportunity to steal something that could probably be sold for a little bit of (drug? alcohol?) money, and took it...and the bag of easily sellable items. :-\
-
For the insurance claim, I'll have to find out from my friend Shelly if she has an idea of how many CDs and tapes were in the bag, and if any were possibly worth much.
-
She had taken all the CDs out of the jewel cases, so there a lot more than there would have been if still in them.
-
Anyway, that was my day.
-
But on a happy note (F#), I passed 115,000 posts! :D
-
Now to ketchup on today's posts.
-
Surely, someone must have something to say about something?
I did. ::)
-
;D
-
I loved it when she ripped up the twice impeached, disgraced, ex-President’s speech after the State of the Union address.
That was fantastic!
-
They still are not able to call Boebert's race.
I REALLY hope it's a case of no-news-is-good-(meaning she LOST)-news!
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE VIBES OF ALL SORTS~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
-
Shiver me timbers
I love that song (the one by Bette Midler)!
-
Does anyone have a phone # for him?
I do. If no one else does, I can send him a message tomorrow.
-
Even though he usually posts late at night, I don't want to possibly disturb him if he's trying to sleep.
-
The dealer should be able to vacuum all the glass easily. If not, certainly a car wash could. This is so annoying. Did it happen in a parking lot? And how does this shit happen in broad daylight? No one was anywhere to be seen in that entire area?
-
It was in a small parking lot that had trees on three sides, so it was fairly hidden.
-
And I was inside the Subway and heard nothing. :-\
-
That’s terrible, George!
I’m so sorry.
-
Please be careful handling the broken glass.
Sometimes, very tiny pieces have a way of jumping up when you use a vacuum.
Good thing you’re wearing glasses.
-
Strange that your car was well hidden by trees.
Makes me wonder if the thief was watching.
-
Was hoping to hear from TCB.
Well, good night, HHW.
-
That’s terrible, George!
I’m so sorry.
Thanks, Iris.
-
Strange that your car was well hidden by trees.
Makes me wonder if the thief was watching.
Here's a satellite picture from Google Maps.
-
The circle is where I parked, and the three (hard to see) marks in the circle are where the trees were. As you can see, there are trees around the parking lot. Since no one else was parked there, AND it wasn't busy at that time, no one else was there to see it happen.
-
PAGE NINE!
-
No TCB. This is now alarming. George, can you get to him?
-
It's three days already.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I have both seen and read them, not necessarily in that order.
-
I'll send him a message now.
-
Concerning.
-
Let us know if you hear anything.
