Saturday! I have absolutely no plans.

Ann and Jen are off to Italy, and I'm hoping their week goes well. Around noon Jen came down on a work break to bring me their mailbox key. Then she assembled my new vacuum cleaner. I told her it could wait till she returned next week, but she went ahead and finished around fifteen minutes later. Ann stopped by around 4:30, when she was home from school, to say goodbye.
I am so blessed with these two angels.

Thinking of my family in Buffalo. My sister casually texted yesterday that they had about 3 feet of snow where she lives. I saw this morning that Orchard Park (where the football stadium is) had 77 inches. I just hope no one loses electricity.

We are going down there this afternoon to check it out. It happens to be in the Village Shopping Center at the other end of this one horse town.....and is indeed in the same space that housed the Ben Franklin Store where I worked for many years.....

I went to the library book sale today. Picked up a copy of The Once and Future King, which I haven’t read in 40 years or more.

I also found a CD of Judy Holliday singing with Gerry Mulligan.

And a DVD of Wuthering Heights with Timothy Dalton. I was 8 when I saw it. I have only memories of one scene.

Went to Art's Deli and had eggs benedict - very good. Then to the mail place and picked up three packages - one screener called The Banshees of something or other, sounds like nothing I'd enjoy, and two CDs.

Then I went to Gelson's and got shrimp cocktail shrimp for food later. No way to do the beignet thing today, unfortunately. Perhaps tomorrow.

The Irving Berlin cabaret program was really enjoyable.

Many toe-tappers, and the singer had done her research and offered Berlin commentary in between the songs.

Well, that piece of dog snot called Elon Musk has reinstated the Twitter account of a former president. So, if you haven't nuked your account, now would be a good time. Now he gets to spew his endless lies and misinformation and none of it will be flagged as fake - and that's what moron Musk wants for Twitter. He's not on the spectrum, he IS the spectrum. I wish some clever hacker would just get in there and flush the entire platform down the toilet.

Finished with my viewing - watched an interesting documentary that did in ninety-three minutes what other Netflix docuseries stretch to four episodes. Funny how that works. I did try to find a movie with no luck.

One of the CDs today was a cheap Yasushi Akutagawa CD that has three great pieces on it - on Naxos, and actually one of the best-sounding Nazxos releases I've heard - band and conductor are excellent - usually Naxos stuff would be my last choice but glad I took a chance on this.

Listening to the music of Franco Alfano - just happened to come up on the Tube of You, liked what I heard of his second symphony and grabbed it and his first. He also wrote several operas and I'm grabbing one now - listened to the first five minutes - gorgeous. This is the guy who completed Turandot for Puccini after Puccini passed away - and his music is similarly melodic.
