Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of movie driving and eating and METHOD actors, and now it is time for you to post until the METHOD cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ENTHUSIASTIC!
-
Yesterday, I posted that I received the 1961 Mexico City cast recording of The Fantasticks. I forgot to mention that I also received a used (but in very good condition), the London cast recording of No Strings (https://castalbums.org/recordings/No-Strings-1963-Original-London-Cast/3449#9548). It was the Must Close Saturday Records release. I quite enjoyed it.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I would definitely watch The Sandwich.
-
If the dancers are dressed all in black, in a black room, and the plate itself is black, and the table is black, then the white peanut butter sandwich would really stand out.
-
But is it crunchy peanut butter?
-
Or smooth?
-
It would make a big difference.
-
~~~STRONGEST MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES & XYLOPHONES~~~ for BK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
When I see a character in a movie or television show driving but not looking at the road, it takes me out of the moment, because I'm worried they're going to crash. Silly, I know.
-
I do wonder about filming eating scenes. I've read that some of these larger dining scenes (such as in Downton Abbey) take a full day or more to film. That's a lot of eating!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have a job interview this morning. I hope I am up and awake for it.
~~~INTERVIEW VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I just looked it up out of curiosity. Lava is about 2,200 degrees F.
-
So, pretty warm.
-
The alarm rang at 6:00 and I slept an extra hour to the dismay of three cats. I think it's a head cold and no more, but I feel like garbage: my sinuses are clogged, my throat is sore, and I have a dry cough that's working my last nerve. So, I'm staying inside for the remainder of the week, living on chicken noodle soup (Progresso), tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, scrambled eggs, and any other comfort foods in the pantry.
-
~~~INTERVIEW VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!!!!!
Ditto!
-
I have an Amazon Fresh order arriving this morning, and once that is put away and kitty cleanup is over, I'm going back to bed.
-
No Tom at all last night?
-
Vibes all is well
-
Health vibes for Elmore
-
I was woken just before 6 am hearing someone walking on my front porch
-
Then I heard the sound of the deck box being opened and shut
-
I thought it was a ne’er do well
-
But it actually was USPS delivering a package
-
And following my little note asking for packages to be left in the deck box
-
So that was nice
-
Poor post person to be out delivering so early in the morning
-
But here I’ve delivered page 2
-
So I’m doing my part
-
I’ve decided I’m tired of working and want to be retired
-
So if each of you will just start sending me money every week that woukd be great
-
Don’t go crazy, a couple of hundred bucks each will be fine
-
I’m not greedy
-
But, you know, I do want to fit in some travel and shows
-
But I’ll go economy class
-
And buy discount theatre tickets
-
To save YOU money
-
I’m very considerate like that
-
Maybe instead of more inane babble I shall go Wordle
-
But first
-
Vibes and prayers for John’s mom
Wordle 535 4/6
You are so considerate, DR vixmom.
Look for my Christmas bonus.
It's in the mail.
-
Max Factor was actually Maksymilian Faktorowicz.
-
I know you want to know these things.
-
How could one not?
-
Could one not knot?
-
I had to learn all sorts of knots in boy scouts.
-
The only knot I can tie now is my shoelace.
-
On a good day.
-
But I will not rest on my laurels.
-
No, sir.
-
Or on page three, either.
-
I’ve decided I’m tired of working and want to be retired
Stand in line. I got there first.
-
Max Factor was actually Maksymilian Faktorowicz.
Somehow the lyric from Hooray for Hollywood doesn’t sound as good with his original name:
To be an actor
See ol’ Maksymilian Faktorwicz
He’ll make your kisser look good.
-
Very true, DR John G.
-
I like this winter scene.
-
Fingers crossed for Georgia today.
-
It never fails. I get on my hands and knees, begin to sort the litter boxes into Trays 1&2 and litter trap, and the Amazon Fresh delivery arrives. Luckily, there's nothing frozen to worry about, so I finished the litter, and now I'm vacuuming the floor. Then . . . the delivery.
-
Candid Camera?
-
DR Iris, we talked about going to Tuscan, however, we stayed longer in Phoenix to see friends.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Back from Walgreen's, with a brand spanking new tetanus shot in my arm.
The shot was fine. The half hour spent with them trying to identify me, when I'd just been in there for two other shots less than a month ago, was pure torture. It's impossible to understand why these things are so complicated that they can't just pull your information right up like any other kind of data.
-
And then I got charged $45 for the pleasure.
"Coverage gap"? In a properly insured world, those two words shouldn't even go together.
I could give you two words that do, though.
-
Who are YOU?
-
Miracle vibes for MR BK.
-
Getting the job done vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Interview vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
I am not sure about the TOD.....I appreciate the work but I am not much of a fan.
-
Reading about Method Acting is most entertaining. I am not a fan of it, but it serves its purpose I suppose.
I am surprised in reading on the inner web about the different styles of acting and preparing and performing NO ONE mentioned the Jack Randall Earles Luggage Theory of Acting.....but then again it has not been published in its entirety.
-
Kitty cleanup finished, vacuuming finished, grocery delivery put away, garbage taken to basement, mail picked up, and that was my morning. I'm exhausted.
-
I now have idle time until 2:45 when I feed the cats.
-
50 degrees - overcast - I'll take it.
~~~Feel Better Quickly Vibes for Larry!!~~~
-
The meatloaf has been canceled until tomorrow....I love you, tomorrow.....
I love meatloaf. Didn't vixmom or someone ask what our favorite recipes are? I grew up loving my mom's which was a basic Betty Crocker Cookbook one, and what I remember is that it was all beef. I don't think my family ever did the beef/lamp/pork (?) blend. But I'll have to get it out of my li'l recipe file to see what she did. I do know she added more onions than recommended. As for ordering it anywhere, I haven't done that in years, but I would tend to trust the better diners in the region.
-

Tomorrow loves you, too, DR Jrand72.
-
Further in medical health plan torture adventures, I just spent an hour grappling with getting re-logged in to the Medicare.gov site. I hadn't used it in so long that they had to send me a password reset. In the end, I don't think I'm making any change in coverage this time around, but at least I can get online with them now.
-
Fingers crossed for Georgia today.
~~~SUPER SUPER DITTO!!~~~
Oh, look! It's Page Four!! :D
My mom's recipe is pretty much ground meats combined with other assorted foodstuffs shaped into a loaf-like shape, then baked until done. They've usually been pretty good.
-
Mom’s version of meatloaf when I was growing up was very budget conscious. It tasted more of meat-flavored breadcrumbs than of meat. Not that it mattered to me. Mine was slathered in ketchup.
-
My meatloaf for Mom was more like a dry martini. You hold the bottle of vermouth near your gin, never letting them touch. I waved a saltine packet over the meat.
-
Interview went well. Thank you for the vibes.
-
Time to feed some kitties.
-
Yes DR CHAS SMITH Medicare.gov is not too user friendly.
I logged onto the Social Security website to find out my new monthly payment and I, too, had to get a new password.
All of us who partake will be receiving an 8.7% (.087) increase in our benefit which is a nice sum that will pay my electric or gas bill in the coming months.
-
My mother always poured ketchup all over her meatloaf before she baked it, and I always loved it. I also like meatloaf with a nice beef gravy and mashed potatoes. I've never made one, but I'm ready to try.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! Second ladies’ meeting of the month complete and now I have almost a week without any calendar commitments. Maybe I’ll finally start getting ready for Christmas.
-
In my all-beef meat loaf I use rolled oats instead of bread crumbs and put bacon sliced on top. Then I add water to an almost-empty bottle of ketchup or chili sauce and pour half over the loaf before baking. Baste with the rest of the liquid about halfway through.
DR Elmore, I think we’ve had meat loaf at least once when you’ve been here for dinner.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe seven hours of sleep, maybe a bit less.
-
Very rough night last night.
-
VERY rough.
-
It was rough.
-
How rough was it?
-
Non rough vibes for MR BK.
-
DR Ginny, what time should we show up for the meatloaf dinner?
-
MR if you are feeling bad - SKIP THIS POST.
I use the Friday's Bacon & Chedder Chips crushed up in my meat loaf instead of bread crumbs or crackers and add minced onions and minced green peppers - but not much of either. If I have it, I also add a cup of shredded cheese.
Now and then I use tomato paste - but the go to of course is Heinz Ketchup in the mix and then also spread on top before baking.
I also add some small golden potatoes to the pan to bake everything together.
I usually use the 93/7 ground chuck - a 2.25 lb. tray. And it lasts for several days.......including the last day or so as SANDWICHES.
Guess I'll go to the mail place and see what's what and maybe grab some food on the way home.
DR Ginny, what time should we show up for the meatloaf dinner?
The next time I have an almost-empty bottle of ketchup or chili sauce, I’ll let you know. That’s my cue it’s time to make a meatloaf.
Yup. Still, it’s a nice start.
We had a wonderful day with Flip.
-
In a few minutes we will see Penny.
-
Of course, we made a most charming recording of I Say It's Spinach on Unsung Irving Berlin - Crista Moore with a great Lanny Meyers chart.
-
Is he charming?
People say he's charming.
Flip Wilson?
Flip Top Box?
Love that recording.
-
Just so you know I don't pull these things out of thin air, here is the song Flip Top Box - I performed this many times for family dinners when I was a pre-teen. The flip side of Flip Top Box, Ne Ne Na Na Na Na Nu Nu was also a favorite. I still have my original 45 of this, which came from one of my father's jukeboxes.
LOL.....I have never heard this song before.....most excellent!
-
Jack, as you are the owner of a new air fryer, I thought you might enjoy seeing the pork roast i made in mine tonight
-
I do not care for tomatoey meatloaf
-
I like a beefy meatloaf
-
I use ground beef, panko bread crumbs and about 1/3 of a cup of Penzeys Sunny Paris and beef stock
-
I don’t cook it in a loaf pan, I just form it into the shap of a loaf and put in it roast pan and surround it with little new potatoes. Then I add more beef stock to the pan and seal it with aluminum foil.
-
After about a half hour I uptake the foil off and put it back in the oven until it’s finished
-
Then I serv3 it with beef mushroom gravy
-
And yes: Elmore, I do love a meatloaf sandwich the next day
-
Ooh page six
-
That sounds divine, DR vixmom.
Before I discovered Penzeys a few years ago my go to was an envelope of Lipton beefy onion soup mix rehydrated with some beef stock
That’s good too
The majors haven't call it yet, but Buzzfeed is calling it for Warnock:
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/georgia-runoff-election-results-herschel-walker-raphael
-
And on that very positive note,
-
Good night, friends.
-
Watching another Hal Roach comedy. Stand-In stars Leslie Howard, Joan Blondell and Humphrey Bogart in his first meaty role. It’s a Hollywood satire. Bogart walks around with Scottish terrier under his arm. Strange.
-
WaPo calls it for Warnock.
-
Leslie Howard doing slapstick is off. He’s quite graceful. Funny? Not entirely.
-
At this hour, I am both elated and disgusted at the results of the Senate election in Georgia.
By about (+/-) 49,000 votes, Raphael Warnock, Democrat, has won reelection to the U.S. Senate. Warnock won his seat two years ago from Kelly Loeffler who had been appointed to fill a vacated seat, and the election was held to fill the final two years of a six-year term.
By this win, Warnock becomes the first African-American to win a six-year Senate seat from the state of Georgia.
My disgust is that Herschel Walker, Trump's MAGA choice, came within 49,000 votes of winning.
That means that of the 3.4 million (approx.) votes cast, nearly HALF of Georgians (presumably white Republicans who vote only for party) voted for Walker despite all the dreadful details had been coming out about his abusive relations with women, his abject stupidity when speaking off-the-cuff, and his sickening TV ads in which he professed to be about "loving one another". He also loved telling the tale of watching "Fright Night" and learning that werewolves could kill vampires. He decided he wanted to be a werewolf!!!
So, nearly half of the votes cast for the functional moron Walker were apparently cast by functional moron Georgians who didn't give a thought about how Walker would represent them for the next six years.
Analyses from various folks on MSNBC thought Walker received 3% or less of the Black vote and the rest were white votes.
It's a victory for democracy and for the integrity of the U.S. Senate that Warnock won.
Rachel Maddow made an observation that about 70% of Georgia's registered voters did NOT vote.
DR Ron, I share your feelings.
Very pleased and relieved that Senator Warnock won.
But it’s pretty depressing that Walker came as close as he did.
Much relieved Rev. Warnock won
-
I share Ron’s disgust and dismay that it was such a close race
Of course mine own neighbors have sent an all Republican congressional group from the shores of this Long Island . So we have our share of stupid and hateful and willfully ignorant as well
-
Good night, all.
DR Ron, I share your feelings.
Finished with my viewing.
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
For now.
Page seven has arrived. Where's page eight?
-
Meatloaf? Meat, Quacker Oats, an egg, ketchuip………and then I play.
-
Often, I make a pizza meatloaf. I chop up pepperoni, add sliced olives, and some shedded mozzarella cheese. Sometimes I add sliced mushrooms.
-
One time I invited my friend Tracy for dinner. When she got there, I made the mistake of telling her that I had used ground turkey rather than beef, because with all of the stuff in it you couldn’t tell the difference. When it came time to serve dinner she said, “I think I’ll pass.”
That was the last time I shared the ingredients with my guests.
-
My mother made a good meatloaf, but I always preferred the sandwiches the next day.
-
Page seven has arrived. Where's page eight?
Page 8 doesn’t appear by itself, it needs posts!
-
189, 190, 191…….
-
I often eat meatloaf at diners or restaurants, when they serve it. Most of the time it’s really good, but I’ve had a few clunkers in my time.
-
I cannot type any longer.
-
Thank goodness there is speaking spell, or whatever you wanna call it.
-
I don’t know what I’m going to do about Christmas. There is no way I can go out shopping for anyone.
-
Thank goodness Vixmom is easy to shop for. I just called the credit union for a loan, and then have it sentit directly to her
-
No George. No BK. No Iris.
I guess no TCB. Good night.
-
WaPo calls it for Warnock.
I'd heard that! ;D
Ah sir, happy news, indeed!!
-
No George. No BK. No Iris.
I guess no TCB. Good night.
We had a late rehearsal. ::)
-
Then I had to go shopping for concessions for the preview night on Thursday.
-
Then I had to order some stuff on Amazon for my sister that she needs for Sunday.
-
Then I (finally) remembered to check in here before it was too late!!
Has anyone else had the Costco meatloaf that half the package is mashed potatoes?
-
It's too much for one person (unless you freeze some of it), but it's pretty darned good.
-
I wanted it mainly because there was so much mashed potatoes, and I figured that the meatloaf would be at least palatable, but I thought that it was quite tasty.
-
Tomorrow, I took the day off from work.
-
I'm going to my mom's to help my niece put up a Christmas tree.
-
My mom has this fairly old (mid-90s, I think) fake tree that's pretty skinny, but my mom likes that it doesn't take up a lot of floor space.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
Anyway, my mom's old tree also has some bare branches and "needles" that fall off easily, so my sister and I bought my mom a new (fake) tree, and my niece and I are going to put it up for her.
-
After the tree put-upping, my sister, her boyfriend and I are going on a tour of the governor's mansion. I've never gone, but I guess they have tours a lot during the holiday season.
-
Where's page nine?
-
That's the $64,000 question.
-
By the way, if anyone has 64K sitting around doing nothing, do send it my way.
-
Dear reader Iris has not made an appearance.
-
And neither has page nine.
-
In other news, new notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
They're quite late.
-
I've read them in their entirety.
-
And in their entirety I've read them.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
We were barely on page eight even though we had most of our late-night denizens.
-
I'm drinking water.
-
I've had a Pepcid.
-
And a few Life Saver dummies.
-
They're not very good, but I find them amusing.
-
Jane will be celebrating all too soon.
-
I hope she does the Limbo.
-
And that there are photographs.
-
We need photographs of Jane doing the Limbo.
-
I personally feel like I'm IN limbo.
-
A void.
-
Usually, I try to avoid a void.
-
Why I oughta...
-
And then I wrote...
-
I'm on a roll. An onion roll.
-
Im also on a role - Stanley Kowalski - I'm quite good in this role.
-
In fact, I'm on a roll in this role.
-
And now, my impression of page nine.
