Well, you've read the notes, the notes turned seventy-five, and now it is time for you to post until the seventy-five cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TRIUMPHANT!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to BK!! :D
-
Midnight Cowboy.
In answer to last night’s quote.
-
My favorite birthday took place at a taping of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
During a commercial break, everyone stopped, asked me to stand up, and sang the birthday song.
( TOD )
-
It was Ryan, Colin, Wayne,Greg Proops, and Drew Carey.
Then they asked me to come up on stage and do an improv skit with them.
Great fun.
-
I’m sorry you’re in so much pain, TCB.
Sending healing vibes.
-
Jrand, I really enjoyed that birthday video that you made for Bruce 8 years ago.
Well done!
-
One more Happy Birthday wish in YOUR time zone this time, Bruce!
Congrats on turning 75…but you will always be younger than springtime.
🎂 🎉 🥳 🕺 💃 🎶 🎶 🎶
-
Larry, I hope that you feel better this morning.
-
You too, Singdaw.
-
And i hope your DH is improving, vixmom.
-
I had several cups of coffee with dessert tonight.
Big mistake.
Will try for a few hours of sleep before dawn. And afterwards.
😴
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sending BEST BIRTHDAY WISHES to BK on this MILESTONE occasion.

~~~CONTINUED VIBES OF HEALING~~~ to DR elmore3003!!!!!!!
~~~CONTINUED PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!!!

Things got progressively worse for me overnight. Still just a bad cold, symptoms-wise, but I am seriously thinking of calling out sick from work today.
-
In fact, I have just alerted the authorities.
-
So I plan to be in bed most of the day.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well until 4:00 or so when all three cats invaded my bed, Annabelle to get under the blankets, and Thatch and Stella to fight over who would cuddle with me.
-
I had a dream about a production of Peter Pan that I was working on. I remember no details now, only that there were a lot of late 19th century costumes and scene changes.
-
I keep thinking I've forgotten something.
-
Wonderful birthday video, DR Jrand72. Thanks for re-sharing it.
-
TOD: It wasn't my favorite birthday, but it was a memorable one. When I turned 50, it was on a Saturday, which is good. But it also fell on Yom Kippur, so I was in the synagogue working all day. And unable to eat.
-
DR singdaw, I hope your Covid case remains slight and calm. Our local news has been crammed with warnings about the terrors of Covid, influenza, and RVS (?). I began taking Theraflu yesterday afternoon, and I'm hoping that helps.
-
My favorite birthday may be my 68th in 2014. Or maybe it's one of the few I can remember. In 2013, my body fell apart and I became a cane-carrying gimp, the recording of Roberta - August 2013 to Feb. 2014 - meant the end of the foundation work, and I spent most of 2014 scrounging for work, little income, working on a computer that was dying, and a lot of physical therapy. On my birthday, Sept. 19, 2014, Josh Clayton, his brother Jeremy, and Rob Berman took me to dinner at Cafe Frida. After the main course was cleared off and we waited for dessert, I was presented with a huge carton, a new iMac. I am still overwhelmed by such a gift.
-
Happy Birthday, BK!
-
That's a wonderful memory, DR elmore3003.
-
Is that the computer you still have now?
-
Two.
-
Thanks for all the good wishes. I will survive.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, BK! Hope it’s a great one!
-
Wonderful video, JRand.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Greatest of BIRTHDAY WISHES to BK!
-
Great video, DR Jrand72! Most enjoyable!
-
Thursday morning greetings! Day 2 of holiday decorating for me.
-
Happiest of birthdays to BK!!!
-
Great birthday memory from DR Elmore. I well remember when you first posted about that. What an incredible gift.
-
I shall have to think through my own birthdays to see which ones say "hey, remember ME!"
-
So we are back in the theeder tonight, starting our 4-show weekend.
This is "Pay What You Want" (aka "Get What You Pay For") night.
-
Ushering this morning for a school performance of The Nutcracker.

TOD - the evening of my 25th birthday was the first cast meeting for the local production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” in which I was to share the role of Lucy. At the end of the meeting, the director (DR Elmore) said, “Now I want Ginny to come up here and sit by me.” Thinking I was about to be relieved of my role or something, I was stunned to see Andrea and Snooky emerge from the wings with a blazing cake and to hear the entire company sing “Happy Birthday.”
It was the first time, after living here 2+ years, that I felt like I had friends here in Middletown.
-
Nice memory, Ginny.
-
Good morning!
-
Happy Birthday, BK!!!
-
Happy birthday, BK!
We sent you a little something birthday-like, and hope you got it.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE 🎁🎂💜
-
The "Live in HD" movie theeder showings of the Met's The Hours is Saturday afternoon.
I'd go, but I would find it difficult to sit through an entire opera with a show to play just a couple of hours later. I guess that's just me. But I'd also want to go see it at the wonderful restored movie palace an hour away where they also provide a talk or lecture beforehand. You don't get that at an AMC. No, sir. But the hour away would make the scheduling thing even worse, so I'll have to pass on this one.
I should, however, be able to see the "encore" showing on Wednesday evening at my local AMC which is just ten minutes away.
-
DR CHAS SMITH how was Babylon?
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR BK!!
Is there mail delivery today? Are the banks open?
-
Thanks for all the comments on the video - the flash on the book covers was distracting....but my photography skills were never A+!
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB, DR singdaw, and DR ELMORE.

Happy Birthday, BK!
-
Feel better soon, Singdaw.
-
Feel better vibes for everyone
-
DR CHAS SMITH how was Babylon?
Stunning. Eye and ear filling. (But at this venue, the volume was PERFECT.) The director uses every square inch of the screen and every cubic inch of the theeder...for all three hours and eight minutes.
(This is my first time seeing anything of his. I haven't even seen La La Land yet.)
So, very long, but I was with it all the way. There's so much to take it that I think it's still "settling" for me. I will for sure go back to see it when it opens.
I can well imagine it not being a lot of people's cup of tea. I do tend to drink pretty strong tea. Even so, I thought one time that he might have totally jumped the shark, story-wise, but I want to see how a subsequent viewing goes for me before passing any kind of final judgment on that.
-
LOL Jrand, apparently my day also tired me out as I slept great last night
-
I was all hyped up thinking I would never sleep and then I crashed 🙂
-
I credit the hike for my wonderful night of sleep, a perfect way to end the day.
-
Thank you DR TCB. I just wish you would have your surgery already and ease your pain.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the one and only BRUCE KIMMEL!
-
Happy Birthday once again to our esteemed host with the most, Mr. BK his very own self
-
I can only think of one birthday that was not nice
-
I can't think of any that stands out as the best
-
I can't read the notes using my phone.
-
I will read them once we are in our hotel.
-
First we are stopping in Tombstone so it will be awhile.
-
I just quickly thought through all of my years, as to where I was living and what was going on at the time of my birthday. Mine were probably all very nice, but being only ten days before Christmas, the memories tend to be overshadowed by that. But I found two unusual and significant ones that I'd actually forgotten about in this context, so here they are:
1 - On December 15, 1979, a Saturday morning, I flew out of LA, changed planes in Houston, and landed in Cancún that evening. I was joining my friends on their sailboat to spend an open-ended amount of time as a crew member. (They had sailed out of LA the year before and had come up through the Panama Canal and were due to arrive in the Yucatan that week.) I had left my job for the trip, but I always knew I could go back (those were the days!), which is what I eventually did after several months. Anyhoo, after arriving at the Cancún airport, I was walking toward the exits when I heard some commotion behind me. I sat and waited and watched as the President of Mexico, who had just landed, walked right in front of me surrounded by his military escorts. That was a fun welcome. That night I stayed in a small but - in retrospect - charming little hotel in downtown Cancún that night (the likes of which probably doesn't even exist anymore), and took a 15-minute puddle-jumper airplane ride across the channel to Cozumel the next day. I'm sure we celebrated on the boat once we were all together, but I'd have to do some more digging through the memory banks.
2 - December 15, 1989 was my first birthday upon moving from LA to Danbury. About a dozen of us in our company had made the move, and during that year I'd had great fun hanging out with several of the others through our house-hunting trips and in getting settled into the area. Being a Friday, my 40th birthday was a great excuse for us to party it up, and we ate at some jernt, followed by a long night of partying at my place. And wouldn't you know, it was the first night of sn*w that season, so a few of the folks from LA were seeing their first one ever. It was just a fun and rather significant party night.
-
DR JANE those are the best nights of sleep!
-
They sure are.
-
DR CHAS SMITH thanks for the Babylon[g] 8) report and the birthday memories....very nice.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe four or five hours of sleep. I think we're adding onion rings to the don't eat list.
-
Freddie, yes, got it and ate it and mentioned it here and in the notes.
-
We must have lots of postings on this day of days.
-
Don 't you think?
-
I think.
-
Therefore I am.
-
I've had several memorable birthdays - a couple of major surprise parties, but I think the most unusual is when my cousin took me to Las Vegas for the day and evening. THAT was fun.
-
I wonder if page four is waiting in the wings.
-
I think it was.
-
And now, page five is waiting in the wings.
-
Or eating wings.
-
I wonder what I'll be eating in a mere ninety minutes.
-
I shaved as soon as I got up.
-
So, that's done and I'll shower in about thirty minutes.
-
Speaking of birthdays, BK has nothing on Jonathan, the world's oldest tortoise, [who] marks his 190th with fanfare and salad cake (https://www.npr.org/2022/12/07/1141180557/jonathan-tortoise-birthday-190)!

A very happy birthday to you. Health and happiness and success.
-
I "liked" over 500 birthday wishes on Facebook so far - some interesting folks.
-
I want to make mushroom pot pies soon. Bought the mushrooms today. A mix of Asian beauties. But I have two questions for you pot pie lovers:
1. Pie crust on top and bottom or just puff pastry or pie crust on top?
2. There are carrots, onion and celery in the base for the filling. Add peas or not?

I've been a Neil Diamond fan since I was a kid. This made me choke up a bit.

-
I shall now be on my way to lunch.
-
After which, I shall return.
-
Freddie, yes, got it and ate it and mentioned it here and in the notes.
That's great!
-
Bruce, the Vegas trip sounded fun.
-
Well, folks, Tuesday’s conversation about meatloaf was too much for me and I gave in. Tonight’s dinner just went in the oven and we’ll eat about 7.
-
That sounds great, DR Ginny.
-
I am making a post.
-
Exciting, I know.
-
The royal family doesn't come off too well in the latest season of The Crown.
-
More cardinals.
-
I think we can get us to page five.
-
I think we can.
-
It's not too far.
-
It's not a long way.
-
And yet
-
It's at the same time interminable
-
Five!
-
Five is nice, but six is nicer.
-
Getting late so let's get some positin' goin' on.
-
Yes, let's.
-
I've got a lot of
living posting to do!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Back from a truly wonderful lunch with Richard and Vicky. I had fettuccine in a pink sauce with sausage - out of this world. The little mini-salad was great, too - wonderful Eyetalian dressing. I even had a piece of bread. We all had so much fun.
-
Now I'm home and guess that's it for the birthday, so sure would be nice to keep reading lots and lots of postings.
-
Jeanne's here.
-
Not HERE, but here.
-
I'm still here.
-
But I have nothing of import to say.
-
Got a fun package from the Darling Daughter - homemade cookies, a little cake in a jar thing, and other treats.
-
Mega Birthday Wishes to BK!
May this be the start of a GREAT year!
-
Import isn't important.
-
The lunch sounds fun.
-
Yes, we NEED a great year and miracles galore.
-
How are you feeling today, Singdaw?
-
Good company and good food.
-
I am getting a respite today from all the stress, so that's nice.
-
Nothing like good company and good food.
-
Pretty lousy. Thanks for asking, DR John G. But it's really just like a bad head cold. Nothing worse.
-
Got offered the job. Asked to think about it over night.
-
They brought a nice chocolate cake thing as a birthday treat at the restaurant.
-
Yes, I am HERE, not THERE. Just to be clear.
-
So I am feeling grateful that, due to vaccines, I'm not in the hospital.
-
It's called Fabricini's or something like that.
-
Job offer!
-
That is fantastic, DR John G.
-
But it there's no there there, then it's best to be here. Right?
-
I feel page six will be here sooner than later.
-
It is nice to have options. But sometimes scary, too.
-
That exceeded my expectations.
-
That was swift.
-
BK did it - PAGE SIX.
-
Page seven - waiting in the wings.
-
Let it fly on those wings.
-
I guess I'd better see about supper.
-
But I shall return.
-
Oh yes, I shall.
-
Richard gave me a big ol' book about Hollywood musicals by Ted Sennett - I've seen it a lot but never had it, so that's very nice.
-
It is best to return.
-
Returning is best.
-
The new heater has been installed. Noisy. But done. The new thermostat is analog, though, and I much prefer digital. Being a Princess and the Pea type, I feel the difference between 73 and 74 and 75 degrees. I may need to supplement with my new and already beloved space heater.
-
Great news from John G. Congrats! What's the job?
-
Bruce, where is the restaurant?
-
Glad to hear that Brittany Griner was released. What a horrible experience for her.
-
TTFN.
-

She’s going to be treated here in San Antonio.

Richard gave me a big ol' book about Hollywood musicals by Ted Sennett - I've seen it a lot but never had it, so that's very nice.
That’s a great book. I hope you enjoy it.
-
And The Birthday continues.
-
Congrats to DR JOHN G on the job offer.
-
So....okay.....I will ask MR BK and all others here:]
What musical has the most close to perfect libretto?
-
And what makes it so.
-
And don't anybody say "Whoop-Up"!
-
Back from a truly wonderful lunch with Richard and Vicky. I had fettuccine in a pink sauce with sausage - out of this world. The little mini-salad was great, too - wonderful Eyetalian dressing. I even had a piece of bread. We all had so much fun.
Nice :)
-
Got offered the job. Asked to think about it over night.
Good decision making vibes!
-
Congrats DR John.
-
Bruce, the fettuccine with only the pink sauce sounds delicious.
-
They brought a nice chocolate cake thing as a birthday treat at the restaurant.
Yum
-
So I am feeling grateful that, due to vaccines, I'm not in the hospital.
Yes.
-
It is nice to have ooptions. But sometimes scary, too.
Very true.
-

Darn, sorry it is noisy and not digital.
-
Glad to hear that Brittany Griner was released. What a horrible experience for her.

:(
How bad is she?
-

That’s a great book. I hope you enjoy it.
Ditto!
-
I have read the notes finally.
-
I can think of unpleasant birthdays.
-
I can remember blah birthdays.
-
There have been wonderful birthdays.
-
I can't think of my favorite one.
-
Most perfect libretto - Gypsy.
-
Great news from John G. Congrats! What's the job?
It's working for a conglomeration of hospitals on their digital content.
-
Most perfect libretto - Gypsy.
Definitely.
-
I made some blueberry-almond bars for Sunday's cookie exchange. They smell heavenly.
-
I am leaning toward accepting the offer. The appeal of working totally remote cannot be underestimated. Especially when the people at my neighboring desks have recently come down with bad cases of covid.
-
There's a lot to be said for that DR John G. So you'd be changing employers?
-
I hope that BK's milestone birthday has been a satisfactory day.
-
You don't get to turn 75 very often.
-
Even though I've napped off and on all day, I'm feeling the need to lie down again.
-
I'm going to try to work if I possibly can.
-
Today was the first day in 5 years that I've called out sick.
-
But I feel like I'm letting my team down.
-
Well, at least we got past 200 posts.
-
I guess I can take us to the next page.
-
Although it won't be pretty.
-
It'll be a lot of stuff
-
And nonsense.
-
But sometimes that is just what you need.
-
It's close.
-
I can smell it.
-
Eight?
-
Yes, eight.
-
Again, birthday felicitations to our BK.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Today was the first day in 5 years that I've called out sick.
That is a darn good record.
-
Congratulations and warm wishes on the heater, DR Jeanne.
-
Bruce I love the photo of you and Richard at your birthday lunch 💜
-

I am a firm believer in bottom crust

Congratulations!

Congrats, John!
-
And don't anybody say "Whoop-Up"!
Darn. :-\
-
;)
-
Yes, eight.
Eight is great!
-
We're about halfway through act one...it's going well.
-
We have six people for our pay-what-you-like-preview performance.
-
They're definitely enjoying it. :)

I agree though less crust is healthier.
-
Trying to watch a movie but keep dozing off and then wake up coughing - really weird.
-
I have never had mushroom pot pie. It sounds delicious.
-
Best part of day was lunch. Otherwise, it's been quiet - a few calls, "liking" birthday posts - that's about it.
-
Great news from John G. Congrats! What's the job?
It's working for a conglomeration of hospitals on their digital content.
Do you think you would enjoy this job more than your current one? Are the benefits at least as good?
-
Best part of day was lunch. Otherwise, it's been quiet - a few calls, "liking" birthday posts - that's about it.
But what a special lunch.
-
Glad you had a quiet but wonderful birthday, BK.
-
Good night, all.
-
'night
-
I am back.
-
Can't sleep.
-
A result of dozing during the day, I suppose.
-
Trying some theraflu.
-
Tricky!!! A 13/16 bar, followed by a 10/16 bar.
-
I'm such a baby. I haven't had a cold since before March 2020. I am not coping well with feeling under the weather.
-
Wow!! Nine.
-
Well, bust my buttons.
-
Shiver me timbers.
-
Lord willin' an' the creek don't rise.
-
Jumping Jehoshaphat
-
I had to look up how to spell that last one.
-
Golly gee willakers
-
Great balls o' fire.
-
Holy cannoli.
-
Great tarnation.
-
What would a nation of tar look like?
-
That's what I'd like to know.
-
It would be sticky.
-
It would be smelly.
-
It would be darned inconvenient.
-
That's what it would be.
-
Nevertheless, she persisted.
-
I think page ten is in the offing.
-
But still so far.
-
So very far.
-
I think there should be a birthday cake.
-
With candles.
-
Perhaps the type that don't blow out.
-
With ice cream, of course.
-
Because what the heck?
-
A celebration must be done up right.
-
Yes, indeedy.
-
No joke.
-
What am I doing, a monologue?
-
TEN!
-
I am doing a monologue wearing a monocle.
-
It's mundane.
-
It's a monkey's uncle.
-
It isn't a Shakespeare sonnet.
-
I shall try again.
-
Perchance, to
dream sleep.
-
Good night.
-
I have never had mushroom pot pie. It sounds delicious.
Sorry (not sorry)...I don't agree. Mushrooms = :P
-
Tricky!!! A 13/16 bar, followed by a 10/16 bar.

I hate it when non-musical people try to make something with musical note/notations. ::)

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I know because I saw them.
-
They were there, plain as day or apple pie.
-
I even read them.
-
I even wrote them.
