Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both waffles AND pancakes, and now it is time for you to post until the waffling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ACCELERATE!
-
Yes, George, on both counts!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a very poor night of sleep. I went to bed at 9:00, I was still awake at 11:30. I could not get comfortable.
-
I dozed off at some point. When I woke and checked the clock, it was 1:30. I tossed and turned so much that Annabelle abandoned me in complete disgust around 11:30. She returned around 4:00 to crawl under the blankets where she purred happily and loudly until the alarm rang.
-
BK, did you get my email about Kevin Duda?
-
DR TCB, it sounds like you also have an Ann and Jen looking out for you.
-
Today I need to call my health insurance and the company billing me for $1000. I am not looking forward.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
The elves on the shelves going zip lining?
-
Someone has too much time on their hands, apparently.
-
Good morning

Back from a fun if quick trip to Maryland
-
Good morning, all.
-
What was in Maryland, Vixmom?
-
Wordle in 4, Phoodle in 2
-
DR vixmom, if you have time, really wanting to hear about the Shakespeare in that famed production.

:)

What was in Maryland, Vixmom?
This
-
It was sooooooooo good
-
Well worth the trip
-
I went with two friends
-
One lives in the Hudson Valley area, about 90 minutes north of NYC, the other lives in NJ
-
NJ doesn’t drive
-
So Hudson Valley and I met at NJs home on Saturday around 5 pm then I drove us all to Bethesda MD
-
Hudson Valley offered to drive
-
But she has a mini cooper
-
I have a Honda Odyssey
-
The choice was clear
-
We had a lovely meal at a Cracker Barrel on the way down…
-
Although the waitress was surley
-
We stayed at a lovely hotel 2 blocks from the theatre
-
Found a very nice breakfast place the next morning
-
Tatte
-
Rhymes with Latte
-
The show was amazing
-
Then around 530 we headed back to NJ
-
Stopping at a different Cracker Barrel on the way for dinner
-
Where we had a very lovely meal
-
And a very nice waiter
-
I dropped everyone off at NJs home then headed for mine own home
-
It started snowing quite a bit but it turned to drizzle as I entered NY
-
But the white stuff is now dusting the cars and lawn
-
And falling from the sky even now
-
I was not consulted
-
Nor do I approve
-
I must Wordle and wander to work
-
But I’ll come back later and tell you about the production which I loved

If you care to look at my FB you’ll see a video I took of the set , I can’t figure out how to post it here
-
You have such amazing weekends, DR vixmom!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. I'm having my second cuppa coffee before I move on to more tidy up.
-
Thanks for the story, DR vixmom.
-
Eagerly awaiting more details about the production itself.
-
The video is way cool.
-
I spoke to two lovely ladies at my HMO and the other provider. I owe nothing! I am off the hook.

Good morning!

That sounds like a great weekend, vixmom!

Good news, DR elmore!
-
Interesting about that stretch of Pico Blvd. I just had a look via Google street views, and indeed it's amazing how sort of "normal" it all appears. Which makes me sad when I consider all of the other areas that have been ruined.
-
Very glad to hear that update, DR Elmore.
I rather suspected that would turn out okay, but I wanted to hear it for sure! :)
-
Monday morning greetings! Still gloomy here in SW Ohio…
-
I spoke to two lovely ladies at my HMO and the other provider. I owe nothing! I am off the hook.
Yay!!!
-
Thank you to DR TCB for last night’s birthday wish!

Very good news, Larry!!
-
Good morning.
-
We had rain overnight, although it appears it is starting to clear up a bit now.
-
Welcome home vibes for DR JANE!
-
Good news from DR ELMORE!
-
Vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
I checked this morning and the lower hatch of Smarty does indeed open - down just like the station wagons of yesteryear.
-
TOD:
HMMMMMMMMMMMMM....
I enjoyed COLONEL PARKER......I mean ELVIS....
And I liked SEE HOW THEY RUN and MY POLICEMAN.
I watched AMSTERDAM last night.....it was interesting....I need to see it again.....

Christian Bale with his rat face and beady eyes sometimes makes me turn a movie off.

A nice Christmas present.

The fog here is oppressive.

Very glad to hear that update, DR Elmore.
I rather suspected that would turn out okay, but I wanted to hear it for sure! :)
I had suspected that they had been waiting for payment from someone besides me, but after that $4000+ bill from Lenox Hill for the January-February radiation treatments had me wondering if I should have considered a new Medicare plan before Dec. 7!
-
DR JohnG, there's this ridiculous commercial for Evenity with a blonde of indeterminate age and older partner of indeterminate sex "dancing" - well, gyrating - and all I can think of is they need your help!

-
Rejoicing in your good new$, DR elmore3003.
-
Back to work today, and so far it has been uneventful.
-
Which is a good thing.
-
Four.
-
All this talk of waffles and pancakes is making me crave some.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep, which should have been nine and would have been had the damn book room smoke detector not started beeping. I pulled out my last two AA batteries and opened it up only to find it takes a nine-Volt battery. Why do they do that? I closed the battery port and went to get dressed but it stopped beeping. I tried to go back to sleep to no avail - perhaps later. When I go to the bank and then the mail place, I'll pick up a nine-volt battery or two so I'm ready should it start up again.
-
Mine take 9-volts, too. Sounds like opening and closing it reset it, but it won't stay good for long. It's probably similar to how, when a remote's batteries are dying, you can open it and re-seat the batteries and it'll work again for a short time.
-
DR Elmore: Are your cataract surgeries the "regular kind" (whatever that is, exactly) or the laser kind that I'm hearing Medicare and/or some insurances don't pay for?
-
Did I dutifully report that we did indeed get our first S-WORD last night?
It looked to be about two inches which is just enough to plow, which the neighbor did this morning. I just leaf-blew the sidewalk and the part of the driveway behind the garage that doesn't get plowed. Fortunately, the sun came out just long enough to melt off the bits of S-WORD debris. Grass and trees, though, are all totally covered, and that won't be going anywhere any time soon.
-
I am thinking of all the dogs we've had over the years and how they suffered from anxiety when the fire alarms would wail as they signaled that a battery needed changing.
-
Sounds like an auspicious start to the S-word season, DR ChasSmith.
-
DR Elmore: Are your cataract surgeries the "regular kind" (whatever that is, exactly) or the laser kind that I'm hearing Medicare and/or some insurances don't pay for?
No laser; real surgery. Something entered my eyeball, removed my len and replace it with another. I watched it all happen.
-
Home from the gym and Costco. We still have heat :)
-
Keith has not been able to reach the heating company.
-
Thank you for the vibes DR John.
-
Thank you for the welcome home DR TCB.
-
From DR TCB:
Yes, the daughter of the woman across the way who has been so helpful as offered to install all new ones for me. She is now living with her mother and currently does not have a job. They have been very good about looking after me, and both felt terrible that they turn their phones off before they go to bed so they didn’t hear my fire alarm story until the next day.
I am super relieved and happy to know this.
-
I love this! Cat mosaics from Pompeii.
-
All this news today on the Lockerbie bomber has reminded me that I spoke to one of the victims a day before the tragedy.
-
DR Vixmom I am glad you had a nice trip with your friends, and were ahead of most of the snow.
-
How long a drive was it to home from NJ?
-
Welcome home vibes for DR JANE!
Thank you.
-
I checked this morning and the lower hatch of Smarty does indeed open - down just like the station wagons of yesteryear.
Cool.
-
I cannot remember now if she were British or American, but she was a book rep who had called the Drama Book Shop to speak to the owners who were friends. I had met her previously, and I answered the phone. I told her her that Arthur and Rozanne were out, and she said there was no message. She'd see them when she got to Manhattan.
-

They are horrible to listen to.
-
Well, my Holiday Overture got a hearing yesterday in Glasgow with the Royal Scottish Orchestra, conducted by Michael England with Gina Beck, Alice Fearn, Rob Houchen, Scott Davies, and the City of Glasgow Chorus.
-
That is sad about the book rep.

Cool! Beautiful piece.
-
I hadn't seen the news about the bomber. I vividly recall how I heard about the plane being bombed. I received a call from a friend asking about the daughters of another friend and if they had been on that plane.
-
It was possible as the girls were flying to London to Detroit for Christmas.
-
Thank goodness I had just seen them at the market shopping with their mother.
-
Not only was I relieved they had arrived the day before, but thankful I did not need to call my friend and ask about her girls.
-
All this news today on the Lockerbie bomber has reminded me that I spoke to one of the victims a day before the tragedy.
One victim was an actress who’d played Luisa in a production of The Fantasticks I’d seen the year before.
-
It seems others didn't want to call her either and I received a number of calls that day from concerned friends asking about them ;D
-
I love this! Cat mosaics from Pompeii.
How did they get the cats to pose?
-
Back from the bank, picking up no packages, and Gelson's where, of course, I forgot to get a 9-volt battery. It's not beeping, so that's good, but I did an Instacart order from Ralph's and that'll be here in an hour and will have two 9-volt batteries. Instacart sent me two $20 off coupons.
-
Making a top sirloin steak for food.
-
One thing I learned on the inner web last week is that the son of actor David White - who played Larry Tate, Darren's boss on Bewitched - was on that plane as well.....
He did not move on and spent the rest of his life looking for someone to blame.....a very difficult thing.....sad.
-

From the bad news dept.:
RIP - Angelo Badalamenti, 85
-
Driving has gotten worse as the season progresses. Just horrible. I couldn’t change lanes earlier because a car doing about 20 mph over the speed limit came out of nowhere and crossed into the lane I wanted to enter.
Then a tow truck drove straight across four lanes without a turn signal or a care that four cars were all headed at him.

It was difficult responding to all of my FB birthday wishes using my tablet. I think I have now thanked everyone that sent me birthday wishes.
-
I took advantage of my flights to read the book on my Kindle I have been saving for the Christmas season.
-
Last night, since I can't read my Kindle books at night I switched to a different book.
-
Then today I finished reading the Kindle book while on the treadmill at the gym.
-
Bruce, I am glad I saved "Tis the Season to Be Murdered" until this month. It was a perfect book to read during my birthday trip.
-
And to get into the spirit of Christmas.
-
Great photos DR ELMORE.
Of course now I am singing Pompeii Cats to the tune of Nashville Cats....
-
Well this afternoon I started watch a French Movie from France on TCM at 5 p.m.
It was titled Confidentially Yours and starred Fanny Ardant. I became a fan of Fanny after reading years ago what MR BK wrote about a different French film 8 WOMEN.
After watching 8 WOMEN I was smitten. This 1983 French Film Noir features Ardant trying to prove her boss John Louis Trintenant did not murder his own wife. I highly recommend CONFIDENTIALLY YOURS which should be available on TCM ON DEMAND in the next few days.
-
The first French Film from France that I remember MR BK writing about - and it could have been in the 20th century was Les uns et les autres. It also features Ms Ardant in a role. ;)
Of course I immediately bought the DVD and was blown away. It is still one of my top ten films. If you were not around to read MR BK's review of that film do a search.....OR just buy the damned thing.
Now I want to watch it again.

Watching one of the weirdest cast movies I’ve ever seen. Charles Laughton, Robert Cummings and Deanna Durbin in It Started with Eve.

:)
-
Interesting (and mostly positive) reviews coming in for the new revival of Merrily.
-
Good night, friends.
-
So, the smoke detector began beeping so I replaced the battery but it kept beeping. I'd gotten a different brand, so I went to CVS and got a Duracell, bringing the one I removed. Well, they're slightly different sizes (VERY slightly) and the connectors look slightly different - the one that was in there said Durolock and the ones at CVS don't. I bought one and installed it and it kept beeping - but then stopped beeping and seems to be fine now. You can't buy the ones that say Durolock anywhere other than online at Amazon and some other jernts.
-

I noticed that.

Ended up in a 24-hour medical clinic with a rather large kidney stone. On an IV. The doctor says he’s going to send me home.
-
The painkiller is taking effect.
-
I think this will force a delay in Monday’s surgery.
-
Sorry I’m late. I fell asleep after watching Harry and Megan. Or is it Megan and Harry?
-
Where is everyone today?
-
And did I miss the show the Vix mom went to see?
-
I am really enjoying the Harry and Megan program. I find them to be quite wonderful.

Let's have some help here.
-
Let's pitch in.
-
Maybe a little paprika would help.
-
Vixmom, it was my friends Sharry and Michael were there to see Brad Oscar Sunday night. It would’ve been quite amazing if you had introduced yourself to Brad and then he would’ve met Sharry and Michael. Of course, you would probably still be talking to Sharry at this moment. She likes to chat.
-
Why am I doing a damn monologue?
-
What did everyone eat today?
-
Surely someone ate something.
-
People must have had some nourishment.
-
Now is not the time for George to go down some damn rabbit hole.
-
No sir.
-
I had a bowl of chunky soup.
-
Oh dear, what can the matter be?
-
Let's have some help here.
Here's some HELP (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTsB-llTzyc)...from The Beatles!
-
Chunky soup sounds good. What chunks were in it.

Yes, she does! ;D But I've always enjoyed listening to her!

No. It just takes time to copy and paste URLs when I'm on my phone...which I am.

Click on the link. They have several versions from which to choose.

Or may be.
