Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both coherent and incoherent, not necessarily in that order, and now it is time for you to post until the incowherent cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DISTINGUISH!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Welcome ninety-nine GUESTS! That's pretty amazing, too.
-
Now 102 GUESTS!
-
105 GUESTS!
-
109 GUESTS! There's life in this old site yet, baby.
-
110 GUESTS!
-
I feel that soon we will be the most popular site on all the Internet.
-
118 GUESTS! How high can we go? My already boggled mind is even more boggled.
-
Is George blowing his nose again? Or reading the notes.
-
Speaking of blowing the nose, I had to take an allergy pill.
-
I have one more Pepcid left.
-
128 GUESTS! Who ARE you people?
-
This is most unusual, but I like it.
-
132 GUESTS. I kid you not.
-
It's right there for all to see on the home page of this discussion board.
-
Is George blowing his nose again? Or reading the notes.
I was reading the notes and checking my e-mail.
-
Then, I bought a couple of CDs for myself that I had checked out of the library. One was a compilation CD released about four years ago called Jazz Loves Bernstein (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CXK4N5B). It has 27 previously released recordings of jazz interpretations of Leonard Bernstein's music. I really enjoyed it...most are older recordings, so it's nice to hear actual jazz interpretations.
-
The other CD is the original cast recording to Ghost (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0057OOPW8), based on the movie with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. It's not great, but I enjoyed it...and it was pretty cheap. ;)
-
until the incowherent cows come home.
I see what you did there. 8)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Thanks for all the recordings heads up, DR George.
-
Welcome 135 GUESTS! At three in the morning.
-
Either we have a lot of lurker dear readers or a lot of curious people.
-
Funnily, as soon as I made the above post, about eighty disappeared immediately. Hmmm.
-
They got what they came for and left, I guess.
-
I hope they're happy.
-
But do they have pets?
-
Or paprika?
-
Two.
-
That is the question.
-
I am reading a book called Cathedrals Chapels Organs Choirs.
-
It's about cathedrals, chapels, organs, and choirs.
-
Funnily enough.
-
Looking forward to DR TCB's report on the new iteration of Beauty and the Beast.
-
Just wondering: why can't the Beast be beautiful, too?
-
Did they ever think of that?
-
It's Friday.
-
And it's payday.
-
A big enrollment deadline passed yesterday without drama or incident.
-
So all in all, I'm feeling pretty good about things.
-
I saw in interesting recipe for spiced pear sorbet.
-
I haven't perused the ingredients list yet to see if it calls for paprika.
-
But one never knows.
-
Does one?
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night was a disaster. I blame it all onn that debit card mess earlier in the day. First of all, Annabelle climbed onto my bed around 6:00 where she proceeded to sneeze over and over and over again. All over the freshly washed pillow cases. Then my neighbor Judy called to tell me she had left a bag of bananas on my door earlier. So, when I went to the bathroom later, I opened the door on my way back to bed and Stella ran out into the hall. That led to fifteen minutes of hell.
-
Laundry is folded.
-
Then, after I turned off the lights around 9:30, my gastrointestinal system went haywire for the next several hours. I don't think I got more that 3-4 jours of sleep. I am not happy.
-
I cannot remember what I've read this year. Of course, about half the year I barely read since I could not see a damned thing.
-
I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
-
I can't remember that I didn't have my breakfast yet.
-
But if I had had it, I wouldn't remember what it was.

Oy! The Vienna Volksoper is presenting The Threepenny Opera with Mack the Knife played by a woman in a long white dress.
-
Did they get confused? Did they think they were doing The Woman in White?
-
I see that Liz Callaway had a show at Vitello's.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Maxine the Knife?
-
Onward!
-
Three!
-
Good morning

It poured rain all night

I am still tired

I’ve had my coffee

I was supposed to bring my car to the shop for an oil change and new headlamps but just reached to Monday
-
Vixdad just realized he had made appointments for today which precluded me using his car
-
It’s 48 now with a high of 65 expected.

I don’t like driving his car in bad weather so that’s fine

A vegan food blog is remaking Caesar salad as "Kale, Caesar!"

That is too cutesy by half.
-
Having trouble conjuring up some holiday spirit.
-
And, like DR elmore3003, like DR vixmom, and like DR John G., I'm tired.

I want to just cuddle with kittens by a roaring fire.

I don't have a fireplace.

And I don't have kittens.

Is there any leftover birthday cake, DR ChasSmith?

Maybe I'll just tap my troubles away.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

We'll do it

Good morning, all.

And, like DR elmore3003, like DR vixmom, and like DR John G., I'm tired.
And Lili von Shtupp.

Same here. Exhausted. This morning I'm sitting back in the recliner like so much fish, and this afternoon I'll start getting into gear for returning to the last two performances of the show.
-
I'll say! ;D

Did everyone order their free COVID home tests?
-
Did everyone order their free COVID home tests?
Not yet. Will do so. I get the free ones through Medicare, but they still allow it, right? The more the merrier.
-
I don't know, DR ChasSmith. I would hope so.
-
I'm pretty sure it's what we've done previously.
-
;)
-
I was so tired from everything yesterday that I never logged back in after leaving for rehearsal early in the afternoon, and I see some more lovely birthday greetings came in later. Hence, and therefore...
-
Thank you, DR Jane!
-
Thank you, DR Ron!
-
Thank you, DR Laura!
-
Thank you, DR Jennifer!
-
There is much to be thankful for, certainly.
-
I must remember that.

BK got lucky with the bathtub and shower having the identical part.
If that had not been the case, I would have asked if the shutoff valve is in a reasonably accessible place, because if so, you could open it when you want to use the shower and then turn it off again. But it very likely isn't. I don't have the slightest idea where mine for the showers are. Only the ones for the toilets and sinks are accessible in the usual places.
-
Did everyone order their free COVID home tests?
Yes. Thank you.

A variation on the TOD:
Here are some 2022 movies I still want to see:

Gratuitous post 111!

My surgery just got moved back an hour. I don’t have to be at the center until 6:30 am.

That’s slightly more civilized.

Is today surgery day for DR JOHN G?
-
Friday!!!
-
Christmas break?
We didn't get out for break until the day before Christmas and went back the day after New Year's Day....unless that day was Saturday or Sunday.
-
Yes DR singdaw the classic motion picture ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN has been released in a new Blu-Ray.
However it is the same transfer as the last DVD and features the same commentary by actress Yvette Vickers (now dead) and Tom Weaver in which they mention star Allison Hayes exactly twice.
I do not think I will buy this version.
-
A vegan food blog is remaking Caesar salad as "Kale, Caesar!"
Healthier for sure, still I will pass. Kale does not like my stomach and I don't care for the texture.

I want to just cuddle with kittens by a roaring fire.
That sounds heavenly.
-
This morning I checked to see if Amazon was delivering a package.
-
It said "Out for delivery"
-
Then I clicked on tracking.
-
A map of my neighborhood opened, showing that the package was three stops away being carried by Santa on his sleigh :)
-
Did everyone order their free COVID home tests?
Are new ones going out? I have plenty that were sent from our state government.
-
DR George & DR TCB, did you order new ones this month?
-
Thank you, DR Jane!
Welcome.

Good Afternoon, all!
It's a blessedly sunny day.
Have been to post office, recycling centerer, State Farm to pay homeowner's insurance and to the bank for some cash.
At some point today, I plan on cooking something nutritious to eat.
-
How can this month be more than HALF OVER??????
-
I am not ready for 2023.
-
The BIG ANNOUNCEMENT of yesterday by the orange one was a YUGE DUD, IMO.
-
But, what do I know!!
-
Nothing, except that I started page 6!
-
Good afternoon.
-
Our internet was down most of the morning. I got a lot done.
-
I just mixed up a batch of cookie dough so I can give cookies to the children after the nativity reading on Sunday.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! We are watching Miami University in the Bahamas Bowl.
-
At noon today I Zoomed to the book discussion at the library where my career began. This month’s book was HOUR OF THE WITCH, by Chris Bojalian. I read about half of it, then skipped to the epilogue and decided that’s enough to mark it “Read” on Goodreads.

Nice. I’ve been an ass off and on this year. Could I get a cookie?

I just took a long hot bath. It was very refreshing. Thanks for the better day vibes, DR Jrand72!
-
I think you deserve a cookie, DR John G.
-
You, too, DR elmore3003.
-
Who wants to see Ryan Gosling as Ken in the Barbie movie? :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - another night of four and a half hours of sleep. Not good. I don't know what's what but something is definitely what's what.
-
I did stay in bed an additional hour but could not fall asleep. I was up at nine-fifteen, and had a lot to deal with, but here I am.
-
I'm thinking about food earlier in the day - like ordering now for a noon delivery. Why not?
-
I've been super good about not eating much in the evening.
-
I may have lost 1/8 of a pound.
-
Cookies!
-
Am expecting a CD dealer at one, then I'll go do banking and stuff.
-
Theeder vibes tonight for DR GEORGE and DR CHAS SMITH.

Why, I may even buy some - PAPRIKA!

And put it in my nose.

Welcome seventy-six GUESTS. Did you each bring a trombone, yes or no?

Drag in libraries is very controversial right now.

My bank and yesterday's issues seem to be resolved, thank God.

Because it is a Bojalian book I have it marked to read. I haven't gotten around to putting a hold on it at the library, maybe I just want to skip this one.

Not really, but then I don't want to see the Barbie movie ;D

The blurb really didn't grab my attention.

Why on earth would they make a movie about Barbie?
-
Exactly, DR Laura.
-
Good new$ from DR elmore3003.
-
Page seven has made its entrance and a fine entrance it was.
-
Can page eight be far behind?
-
Had my grilled chicken pasta from Stanley's - very good - no bread, and not eating anything else so it's fine.

Not to mention I am quite full.

Why am I being inundated with spam emails about dementia? Do these people not know that I have been demented for at least seven decades?

Welcome sixty-six GUESTS! Is that a quorum on the forum?

A funny thing happened on the way to the quorum.

Most people in the United Arab Emirates don't get Flinstones references.
But people in Abu Dhabi do.

There are eight days of Hannukah. One for each spelling. ;D

CD dealer has come and gone. Now I have to decide whether to wait until an Amazon package is finally delivered (on route) or go pick up whatever else was delivered (shampoo from yesterday and whatever screeners may have arrived).
-
I did get to sleep at three last night because I watched a three-episode docuseries called Don't Pick Up the Phone, about the McDonald's (and many others) strip-search hoax calls. Really shocking, but absolutely could have been two episodes if you cut out the repetition and the shots of leaves and bushes and junk. I'd seen a fictional film based on it, called Compliance. But this is really shocking and most of all is the guy getting away with it thanks to a shrewd attorney and a prosecution team that simply didn't do a good job in presenting the case. They had pretty damning evidence, but couldn't get the jury past reasonable doubt, thanks to the guy's attorney. One of the dead giveaways that the prosecution should have noted for the jury was the video of the guy purchasing phone cards in Walmart, cards that were directly tied to the phone calls he made. He had a big mustache in all the videos, including when he was arrested and then, some time later, extradited for trial. But for the trial his attorney obviously told him to shave it off, which he did. Had he not been allowed to do that, well, perhaps the outcome might have been different. The prosecution should have pointed it out and made him put on a fake mustache so the jury could see that.
But the truly shocking thing is that people, including the victims, went along with this outrageously disgusting stuff. At no point did anyone say to the pretend caller, "You know what, just come over here if you want to have a discussion." They just did whatever he asked them to do, and that included on several occasions things of a sexual nature.
-
I guess I'll wait a bit to see if today's package arrives.
-
I'm one thing away from being out of Pepcid and that's coming today.
-
Page eight - PLACES.
-
Page eight is now waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
However, there is clearly gaslighting going on here.
-
As there usually is.
-
Gaslighting 101.
-
WhatEVER.
-
We must be close.
-
There must be trumpets.
-
Page eight has made its entrance.
-
Are we still on page eight?
-
Darn it all to heck.
-
We need some movement going.
-
Some graceful choreography.
-
Some Grecian urns, as it were.
-
We've got to urn it.
-
One good urn deserves another.
-
DR George & DR TCB, did you order new ones this month?
I haven't. I have a few more left, so I'm set for now.
-
If you have one, you can put a fern in your urn.
-
And drink a Sauterne.
-
Nothing, except that I started page 6!
Wow...and it was at 11:03 a.m. on the left coast!
-
Delivery vibes for MR BK.
-
Good news DR ELMORE.
-
Package, according to tracking, is eight stops away. Perhaps if we get to page nine, it will be seven stops away.
-
Belly up to the bar, boys.
-
Or just do the Lambada: the Forbidden Dance.
-
:)

It is being reported (I don't know how reliably) that the Orange One sold 45,000 cards, to the tune of 4.5 million dollars. So a lot of people are easily parted from their money, apparently.
-
Why on earth would they make a movie about Barbie?
I expect it is a comedy.
-
There are eight days of Hannukah. One for each spelling. ;D

-
Hello, everyone.
-
Belated birthday wishes to DR Chas!
Hope you had a lovely day and you'll have some nice R&R soon, too.

One really has to wonder. I can think of many fine charities that could really use some donations. I hear that Melania has business schemes going, too. Perhaps when Trump's tax returns are divulged all will be clear.
-
Food is here.
TTFN.
-
Back from the ATM, the picking up stuff, now home.
-
A LOT of morons on the road.
-
DARN them all to heck!

Listening to The Hours. Would love to have the visuals to go along with it. Interesting score.

Nine?
-
Yep.

Where's ten?

Why hasn't someone composed an Ode to Liverwurst?
-
That's what I'd like to know.
-
There was a butcher shop in the Connecticut town I used to live in called The Best Wurst.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
A LOT of morons on the road.
Keith swerved today just before someone drove into my door in the parking lot. They went right through the stop sign. Fortunately they were not going fast.

Wouldn't it be less expensive to go through your insurance with a prescription?
-
Well, maybe not with the great sale but normally?
-
I think we can make a post here.
-
One post, and then another.
-
That's how it works.

Page Ten!
-
Good evening.
-
So many of us here have had eye procedures done lately. So I thought perhaps I should get my eyes checked. No problems in particular, but I haven't had an eye exam in a long time.
-
My daughter and I will be getting glasses in a couple of weeks. No sign of glaucoma.
-
Glad your eye exam went well.
-
That reminds me, DR Jeanne my friend finally had plugs and is happy with them. My eyes are so bad I am going to request them at my eye check in February.
-
Home from shopping.
-
I went ahead and took my treasured BK musical quote in to be framed, along with an autograph from Cy Coleman.
-
I’m now home watching I Love My Dad, an odd movie. It is thankfully short.

Watched The Whale.

Another talking picture.
-
Page eleven has made its entrance and it came out of nowhere.
-
It Came Out of Nowhere is the title of my next novel. Actually, a little surprising that title has never been used for a horror or sci-fi movie.
-
Every time someone posts welcome one guest, I know they're not looking in the right place, but only at today's topic. If you look on our home page, scroll down to the bottom, you'll see how many guests are on the board in general. For example, right now there are 126 GUESTS.

I felt like I was being gaslighted while watching gaslight because it was an entirely different cast than I remembered
-
Turns out they broadcast the 1940 British version
-
Not the 1944 MGM version with which I am familiar
-
I was watching too DR VIXMOM.
I have never seen LA RONDE which is coming up next, so I may give it a shot.
-
After all it's early Saturday morning here.
-
WOW DR JANE - scary!
-
Morons On The Road is the title of a new video game I am developing.
-
I enjoyed La Ronde.
-
I may stay up a bit more and watch a scary Christmas Movie on TCM Underground.
-
I'm watching the recent "live" Beauty and the Beast.

A friend of mine hated it. ::)
