Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of main titles, and now it is time for you to post until the main title cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ACCOUTREMENT!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
The bomb cyclone approacheth.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. I had a dream that involved Wagner's opera Siegfried, the dragon, and bathing in dragon blood. I have no idea where that was dredged from my subconscious.
-
Mariah Carey is the "Queen of Christmas"?
-
Today, I am going to City Center. Scheduling the ride downtown with Access-a-Ride was impossible, and I forgot to call back and try again for another time. So, I canceled the ride last night, and I will try for a taxi this morning. I honestly do not look forward to flagging down a taxi, but I am hoping it goes well.
-
I just finished reading Mary Rodgers' account of the creation of Once Upon a Mattress, and it answered a question about the published vocal score that I've had for fifty years.

That's risible.

I'll rise, but I won't shine.

A little Glass Menagerie reference.

And one more.

-
DR vixmom, I hope you get the white elephant.
-
Or not, if you don't desire it.
-
But who wouldn't want a white elephant?
-
Speaking of white, the DH the other day ordered an egg white omelette and a banana. The plate was white, and all the food was white. It was a pale palette.
-
Peter Piper picked a pale palette.
-
What am I going on about?
-
Nothing, that's what.
-
That would make a great song title.
-
Nothing.
-
Oh, wait. Someone already did that.
-
Someone wrote a rejoinder called "Something."
-
I think there needs to be a video of BK mincing.
-
In fact, BK could do a whole cooking show.
-
Wouldn't that be entertaining?
-
It could be called KIMMEL COOKS.
-
It could have entertaining main titles.
-
It could have snarky asides.
-
It could have cameo appearances by stars of stage and screen.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I slept okay.
-
I’m not ready to face the work day.

I really liked the title sequence for Magpie Murders.

I don't have the apps.

Good morning, all.
-
One more concert tonight.
One.
More.
-
One more post.
-
Three!
-
You know, these concerts are only an hour and ten minutes long, and are easy enough and fun to play, with plenty of good music. But since I don’t live in the area, my hour long commute each way makes playing this gig a big deal. And if bad weather threatens, it can be a real pain in the ass. Fortunately, we are spared that this year.
-
It’s supposed to get down to 19 degrees here on Friday night. Ugh.
-
No s**w at least.
-
Starting Saturday we are in for a brutal cold spell, with highs in the twenties and lows down to the single digits.
It's already felt really cold these past couple of days because of how windy it's been.
I can take it, though, as long as I'm not dealing with that ... you know ... stuff.
-
Final show of the year vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
"Itchy Arms" - wasn't that a big hit for Patsy Cline?
-
Full Moon And Itchy Arms.......

Grand niece Audrey is on her way from Maryland. I imagine she is letting her parents do most of the driving.
I will be visiting her tomorrow afternoon.
-
From Vixmom:
Former and hopefully soon to be back DR William F Orr has been declared Covid free and returned to a regular ward.
Thank you for the good news :)
-
And great news about the new roommate.
-
Pain free vibes for DR William F Orr!
-
PAIN FREE VIBES FOR ALL OF US!
-
DR Jeanne thanks for the information. I will probably try this.

It’s supposed to get down to 19 degrees here on Friday night. Ugh.
Colder than the 22 degrees we are expecting on Thursday. I remember freezing in Austin on December 18th.
-
By Christmas it had really warmed up.
-
In fact, it got very warm. Keith wore the t-shirt he purchased at the Alamo while I had a light weight blouse that was cooler than wearing my Alamo t-shirt.

Hello, all!
Today, everyone is scurrying around to protect outdoor faucets, etc.
We are expecting a very frigid weekend, starting Friday. Wind chill is expected to be in the single digits.
Brrrrr.
-
I am only marginally interested in this holiday season.
I have a wreath on the front of the house.
Otherwise, zilch.
Meh!
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep. Woke up at seven-thirty, tried to go back to sleep at eight-thirty, but came up with the way I wanted the preface of the new book to start, so I got back up and wrote five pages of that. Now it's ten-thirty and I'm not sure I should go back to bed. I may just mosey on over to Gelson's for the burger buns and a few other small items.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! We have hustled and bustled this week and are now in until we go to Cincinnati for Christmas dinner. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, then snow and get bitterly cold for a few days. Fr. Richard has even declared it will be too cold to go to church on Christmas Eve.
-
So, George has never shown up? Hope he's okay.
-
And remember, Kritzerland CDs and books make fine last-minute gifts.

PT starts Friday morning.
-
I'll be leaving for Buffalo in the morning. The weather should be okay tomorrow, but they're expecting the temperature to drop 30 degrees in a very short time Friday. Saturday promises 50 mph winds for several hours to be followed by lake-effect snow. Oh, joy!

So, George has never shown up? Hope he's okay.
Yes, thanks, all is well. :)
-
After work yesterday, my friend Shelly and I went to see the Lakewood Playhouse production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol.
-
It was...okay.
-
Their actors had a better grasp on the script than our's do, and overall enunciated better than ours. ::)
-
TAO/BOP's actors are good, but not as accurate...minor changes throughout the script have solidified, so they're pretty much set.
-
No meaning is really changed at all, and the audience isn't losing any meanings, so it's not anything to worry about, at all.
-
However, where we excel is in the emotion and the intensity. We have a smaller space and use projections, so the lighting is much more interesting and inventive.
-
Or canteloupes of cantankerousness?
Sounds like me.
-
Finally, the prodigal George has returned to the folded.
-
Nice that you could see the difference between productions, George.
-
Decided to hold the damn burgers until tomorrow - today is tuna on onion roll x 2.

My question for ASK BK DAY:
When you were growing up, what movie title promised the most and delivered the least?

My question for ASK BK DAY:
When you were growing up, what movie title promised the most and delivered the least?
The title of the film itself or the main titles of the film? If title itself, hmmm, let's see - maybe Fantastic Voyage, which i didn't find Fantastic at all.
-
And who says I'm grown up?
-
Tuna sandwiches were excellent and I am sated.
-
I hope DR George doesn't get folded too much. We need him in one piece!

There's a package delivery today, but it's clearly not showing up for another hour or two or three, so I thing I'll get what's there from yesterday and whatever else has shown up, and get today's tomorrow, since there's also something arriving tomorrow.

It's ART, people. :)
I love it :)

I met Diane McBain several times at the signing shows - we sat next to each other at one of them. I have a photograph somewhere. She was so sweet and down to earth.

Hello, all!
Today, everyone is scurrying around to protect outdoor faucets, etc.
We are expecting a very frigid weekend, starting Friday. Wind chill is expected to be in the single digits.
Brrrrr.
Our condo management sent out a reminder to cover the outdoor faucets. Keith did that a month ago. Normally there are lots of seasonal reminders, not just the day before the storm is coming.

I am very concerned that won't won't be able to make it to Milwaukee on the 24th. Bryan now has a guest room so Craig is going to spend Christmas there for the first time.
-
They don't come home anymore.
-
I'm glad I live in Arizona. At least, this time of year.
I used to say that about LA. For years I loved Christmas on the East Coast. I don't want the cold anymore.

DR JANE the party is at a venue in my one horse town called Five East - it is a nice place that is owned by the daughter of one of our cousins.
A band and caterer have been scheduled.....
A lot of folks would be coming down from Indy....BUT....
-
As DR GINNY wrote - the forecast is for serious weather to start tomorrow afternoon.....
Icy rain changing to s**w with expected accumulation of 4-6 inches and wind gusts up to 55 mph.....and temps below zero and with the wind a feels like of double digit below zero....from Thursday to Saturday....so the party may be a NO GO.
-
Audrey is expected any moment!

I put both cars in the carport.....the back foot or so of the PT is not quite under.....both it will save me some brushing and scraping of the white stuff.

I can honestly say that most people here should not see The Banshees.

Tomorrow, December 22, marks the sixth anniversary of Oscar Peterson writing the "Hymn of Freedom" which became known as the unofficial anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. In the clip below, Oscar's widow, Kelly Peterson explains the story of the writing of the song, and then introduces Benny Green, John Clayton, and Jeff Hamilton as they rerecord the song to commemorate the anniversary.

I don't have the apps.
They’re both free to download you may find them useful when the ride service isn’t practical or available

I needed something cheerier after that. So, how about a Billy Wilder flick? Kiss Me, Stupid is one I haven’t seen before.
-
DR Jane, we live just north of Cincinnati. Did you think I said we were going to Chicago?
-
This morning while cleaning my glasses I lost my grip and dropped them on a chair
-
While attempting to catch them mid air I lost my balance and sat on them
-
Fortunately I have a spare set
-
The secret Santa and other gifts I brought were well received
-
I was gifted with a mug that said “joy” mint chocolate cocoa mix, 6 special hot cocoa sticks
-
Vixmom, can you get them replaced easily?
-
And…..
A $50 gift certificate to a local entertainment venue which I very much enjoy visiting
-
I was very pleased

I’ll have to pop up to the Costco where I purchased them to see

I really love those frames, but they’re 2 years old

Thanks for the warning.

I still have my last four sets. I keep them in case I need a different look for a show I might be in. I wore two different pairs when I was in Mamma Mia!

I will! My co worker was clearly paying attention when we were talking about getting cozy on cold days

That sure is. I don't have a spare.
I’m lucky I bought a spare set last time I bought glasses. They were doing a special if you bought a second pair with the same prescription it was at 50% cost .
Without that pair I would have had to call out and Vixdad would have had to call out so he could drive me to the optometrist
-
I will be sure to always have a spare set here on in

Best quote I heard today:

I had the distinct experience of reporting to Great Lakes Naval Station in January of 1979 to attend an instructor's training course. This was "after" the great blizzard that dumped about 15 feet of snow on Chicago. I was absolutely gobsmacked that snow was piled as high as the eaves on houses and that tunnels had been dug out for access to doors and driveways.
-
It is well past my bedtime, but I am severely congested (and it only came on about two hours ago) and need to do some irrigating. Damn it.

Finished with my viewing and listening to music.
