Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the Day of the Do, and now it is time for you to post until the Day of the Do cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ESCULENT!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Happy Christmas Eve, to those who celebrate.
-
~~~DAY OF THE DO VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!!!
-
And ~~~CONTINUED MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ as well!!!!!!
-
Good morning.
-
After all the work of Thanksgiving dinner last month, I decided to make Christmas a bit easier. Today I'll make stuffed shells and put them in the fridge. Tomorrow I'll make breadsticks and roast some vegetables. So easy.
-
Thanksgiving is all about the turkey. Mostly the stuffing. That was cooked inside the turkey.
Christmas can be anything. So I chose something fairly easy.
-
Last year my daughter-in-law cooked Christmas dinner. At first I was sad. Then I realized I could do that every year.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's quite cold in the apartment and only 12 degrees F outside.
-
The alarm rang at 5:40 this morning. I turned off the alarm and crawled back into bed, where I cuddle4d with Thatch and Annabelle. When I woke, it was 7:00. so I am about an hour behind my usual schedule.
-
Last night we watched Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont. What a gentle and touching film. I cried like a baby at the end.
-
Last night we watched Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont. What a gentle and touching film. I cried like a baby at the end.
It is a very touching film!!!
-
Tonight I shall be dining at my cousin Debra's (unless something happens before then to change our plans).
I am expecting most esculent chili!
-
A week from today, my cousin Butch, his fiancee Sharon, and I shall be dining festively at the Pine Ridge Country Club's New Year's Eve feast.
My dinner will be Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon, a vegetable "medley", and Tiramisu.
We will each pay an arm and a leg, I presume, for the meal.
But, it's New Years Eve, and we will dine early and be home early. No massive crowds, drunken revelry and seeing the ball drop for us, thanks!!
Been there, done that, over it.
-
It is currently 11 degrees in Johnston SC.
Today's high is expected to soar to 21.
-
I have quite a few things to do today, including making sure my car and truck will start.
Haven't decided which I will drive this afternoon but am hoping each will be an option.
-
May I reflect for a moment? This season just isn't the same since my mom and aunt passed away.
It was rough after my mom died in 2018, but we had the family gathering, as always, across the street at my aunt's on Christmas day.
Last year, Christmas was very low key, but we still gathered at that house because my uncle was still there and his children, grandchildren and friends wanted to make sure he had a good Christmas.
Time is cruel. My uncle passed in February (three months after my aunt passed). My cousin Debra is determined to continue a tradition at her house on Christmas eve, but her husband is likely spending his last Christmas on earth and these family traditions are, again, being adjusted and will likely be done away with. New ones will take their place, of course, but memories will crowd out festive tradtions.
Oh, well. I am not particularly overwrought with emotion about any of this. I simply feel time moving along, more rapidly now than in the past.
-
Color me amazed that Bruce and I agree completely on "Glass Onion."
My original impression of Kate Hudson is the one he described. She seems to be giving the performance she believed her mother would have given, but Goldie would have been utterly charming and delightful, whereas Kate is just...MEH!
-
All of y'all have a wonderful day.
I shall likely return later this evening to read all the "do" comments. I may even have an update on my day, but I make no promises.
-
Ron, I always enjoyed your travelogues about traveling home for the holidays and celebrating with Cousin Deb.
-
My mom died many years ago. I took over holiday cooking. There were only the four of us. Then five. Now there are six of us. It's strange sometimes to realize that I am the grandma now.
-
Time marches on.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Do vibes and major miracle vibes for BK.
-
Congratulations on your new plateau, George.
-
Today is Chinese hot pot for lunch. Bells are playing at 6 tonight. I will try to play one.
-
Two!
-
It’s 21 outside now. The high is expected to be double that.
-
That’s good news since I can’t get the splint through any of my coat sleeves.
-
Wordle 4, Phoodle 3.
-
Thank you for the card, Elmore. One of my favorite carols.
-
Christmas Eve used to be a big celebration at my moms house.
-
We’d have friends and cousins and aunts and uncles
-
As we got older and the cousins ( who were older than us) got married the cousins and aunts and uncles started new traditions at their houses and stopped coming
-
Then we started getting married and the cousins were replaced with in-laws
-
Soon children were born and added to the mix
-
Those were the best, watching them open gifts and getting excited about Santa coming
-
The kids grew but we still all got together every Christmas Eve
-
Then my Dad died, and my brother and his family moved to Virginia
-
And the Vixter moved to Florida
-
The party was smaller
-
This year we were only going to have 6
-
But Covid interfered
-
So there will be no celebration at all
-
I’m feeling a bit melancholy
-
Elmore thank you for the card!
-
I understand, Vixmom. It feels like 2020 all over again, doesn't it?
-
We never did anything on Christmas Eve. I tried to get the family involved, but no one would do anything. So I go to the Christmas Eve service alone, and I enjoy the quiet walk home afterwards.
Very few neighbors put up lights any more. Sometimes we have a good response to the luminaria project; sometimes not. I'll light ours before I go to church tonight.
-
There's only one present under my Christmas tree. Something for the little one to unwrap. The Disneyland tickets are on my phone, and that would be impossible to wrap.
-
Sometimes I watch the version of Christmas Carol that Elmore dislikes. ;) I love that version. I'm not even sure I have anything that plays DVDs any more.
-
Finally got the Blu and Ray player to play the last of my library discs, Tron Legacy. I really liked the first movie. Don’t know why I never saw the sequel.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. I have a low energy this morning to do much else.
-
When I was growing up, Christmas dinner was usually at my Aunt Jean's house in Hamilton, Ohio, where six of the seven Drake children and their families assembled. There were my mother, my Aunts Jean, Ruth, Dorothy, and my Uncles Paul and Bob. My mother's sister Lois lived miles away near Columbus, Ohio. I was the oldest of ther grandchildren, but I was consigned until I left for college at the children's table with my brothers and cousins.
Around 1970 or 1971, my mother hosted the Christmas dinner, and I invited two graduate assistants and their spouses to join us. To my surprise, and God knows what inspiration, Pam and Paul Hollenbeck and Joe and Linda Haggard had all gone to the theatre's costume dept. and arrived in costume. I was quite surprised at this turn of events, but I thought it was very funny. It was really funny watching my tight-assed Aunt Jean try to act nonplussed over the situation.
-
This is how I imagine DR ChasSmith by the last carol service:
-
Good morning, all.
-
Ha! That is excellent, DR singdaw!
-
More thanks to DR Elmore for the lovely card.
-
Yes, it does feel like 2020 all over again. The one thing I had to miss was our friend's annual Christmas Eve Eve partay last night, always a joyous event with fun people and foods and drinks. Actually, three of us from the cast of our show missed it for the identical reason. But our Christmas Eve and Day traditions here at the house are just the three of us, anyway, and nothing changes that.
-
I mean, nothing at this point in our lives. Because all things change.
-
Thinking back to my early family Christmases, I realize I've got some reminiscing to do because I'm sure I'm forgetting some of it. I'll have to check with my sister to see how her memories jive with mine.
-
The Grinch may have some help with the roast beast...
-
Do vibes and major miracle vibes for BK.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
Congratulations on your new plateau, George.
Thanks, John!
-
It’s 21 outside now. The high is expected to be double that.
It's 45° right now, and the high is supposed to get up to a balmy 48°.
-
It’s 11F here
-
It's 4 degrees here!
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his new millstone.
-
Middle-of-the-road 10 degrees here. Sorry to be so boring.
-
Do vibes and Miracle Vibes for MR BK.
I, too, love HIGH TIME - any movie that had Fabian or Richard Beymer in the cast got my ticket money.....and this one had both. The only downer for me is Nicole Maurey....and there were the shots of the guys rolling out the seasonal banners, usually with their underwear hanging out the top of their pants. Something to see in CinemaScope indeed.
-
LOL DR CHAS SMITH.....middle of the road is great, unless you're a skunk.
-
DR RON PULLIAM that was a very nice post.
The party last night certainly brought the point home to me. I saw some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile.....and while I'm talking I realize we are now ALL in our 70's.....
-
Thanks for the card DR ELMORE.
-
So - there were about 35 folks at the party.....
We all had a good time. The catered food was Italian and most excellent. A lot of karaoke and I was tempted to join in, but restrained myself.....were that some others were as self aware.
-
Tron Legacy is silly fun.
-
I am watching an episode of BONES that was inspired by TO CATCH A THIEF....
I like David Boreanaz and he directed this episode.
-
I'm glad that the party was nice and enjoyed by all, DR Jrand72.

CONGRATULATIONS to DR George on his lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!

I prefer not to look back on too many Christmases past. I did enjoy going to Germany a few years back because of the time spent with my sister and her family.

Nice picture, JRand.

AS you can see, they look a lot like their Mommy.
Emily on the left is the mother of 4 month old Audrey - who stayed back at the house with Daddy Ryan.

Thanks DR JOHN G.
Here is a photo of my sister Molly, sister Paula, and yours truly. As you can see, we do not fit in Academy ratio - we need to be photographed in VistaVision - wide screen high fidelity.

Happy Holidays from DR elmore3003's house

This Christmastide (Jessye's Carol), composed by Donald Fraser for Jesste Norman, may be my favorite contemporary Christmas carol. I just discovered this performance by Leigh Ann Hinton with the United States Army Band, clearly augmented with strings, and I think it's tremendous.

I'm up, I'm up - only because the handyman came early - seven hours of sleep and when he's done I may try for eight.
-
Looks like he's putting the new replacement part in the shower, and then he'll put the bathtub part back where it came from.
-
Getting ready to eat and then head off for afternoon Christmas Eve services. No late service this year, praise be.

Loved this image of a kitten seeing a Christmas tree for the first time.

From DR Ron:
I spent several hours yesterday afternoon and evening going through HHW.com archives researching some of my Christmas trip posts from previous years.
Quite a revelation, I must say. Whatever happened to me, anyway? I used to do stuff and report it here.
We all looked forward to your Christmas trip posts.

Yes I enjoyed traveling with DR RON PULLIAM during the holidays.
-
I am of course hoping the dreaded call does not come in the next few days.....about someone who attended the party testing positive.
-
Very nice links DR ELMORE. Thanks!
Interesting meeting, I bet!
-
From Ron:
Is it just me, or??? Kate Hudson seems to be giving performances as if she were imitating her mom. I have felt this about some of her other performances, too.
I just think she is her mother's daughter just like I often see Judy in Liza Minnelli.
-
I don't know if Bruce will remember well enough to have an opinion, and Keith & my brother never see it....yet over the years I have often had people say I remind them of someone. Once prompted they would name my sister.
-
From DR TCB:
You keep going like that, George, and you’ll pass Jane pretty soon.
I have mentioned that a few times ;D
-
I don't know if Bruce will remember well enough to have an opinion, and Keith & my brother never see it....yet over the years I have often had people say I remind them of someone. Once prompted they would name my sister.

That’s good news since I can’t get the splint through any of my coat sleeves.
I know about that. Fortunately the cold weather clothing for our Greenland trip fit over my cast, though I couldn't get the glove all the way on. I would tuck a hand warmer in there, but then the heat would make me swell and kind of hurt. I preferred the pain to the cold ;D
-
I’m feeling a bit melancholy
I feel this way every year now it is just the two of us. A couple of times we have gone to L.A. to be with my brother's family. We haven't done that in a long time.
-
It’s 21 outside now. The high is expected to be double that.
It's 45° right now, and the high is supposed to get up to a balmy 48°.
Wow, it is warm there. It is 30 degrees and raining here. I watched our poor upstairs dog slide on his potty walk. I was out talkin to them, under our front door awning, when the mail truck pulled up. The mailman put ice cleats on before getting packages from the truck to deliver. He said no mail except or packages today.
-
The guy delivering today had a real Santa beard. It was cute :)
-
Christmas Eve afternoon greetings! We have decorated the shortbread cut-out cookies that I made Thursday and our dinner (cranberry pork roast) is in the crockpot. I am doing something I’ve never before done on Christmas Eve - watching a football game. Go, Bengals!

DR JRand, thank you for sharing the photos from last night’s party. I’m so glad it went so well.

;D
On a plan flying home from LA to Ashland, as we were boarding a woman started to ask me that, stopped and said no you would be older. Sure enough at first she thought I was my sister, and a neighbor of hers from years before.
-
At halftime I’ll make tomorrow’s pecan pie and after dinner I’ll assemble a Christmas morning breakfast casserole. Then I’m going to quit cooking for a while.
There is more to cook :o

DR Jrand, Bryan drove to his brother in-law's yesterday then said they needed to jump start the battery in order to drive home. It is good you got a ride yesterday.

Not for me, DR Jane. We’re invited to Richard’s brother’s house for dinner tomorrow and the pecan pie is my only responsibility.
-
Good :) Have fun.
-
DR Ron did any of your old Christmas posts complain about it being this cold?
Not at all. This is surprising to me because one year the temperature never went above 20. Looking back, it was a Christmas when I didn't post much because I was sick most of the time.
-
Good :) Have fun.
It will be very low key - all “orphan” grandparents whose families live in other states.
-
DR Ron did any of your old Christmas posts complain about it being this cold?
Not at all. This is surprising to me because one year the temperature never went about 20. Looking back, it was a Christmas when I didn't post much because I was sick most of the time.
Being sick was likely less fun than the cold temps. It does show then that these temps are not unusual which I find interesting.
-
Good :) Have fun.

You will make good company for each other ;)
-
I was hoping for a Chanukah invite but that didn't happen due to the flu.
-
Thank you to DR Elmore for the lovely e-card!
-
Handyman came and went. I didn't go back to bed.
-
Instead, I got out the folding chairs and got all of them set up in various locations.
-
I then set about cleaning what needed cleaning and bringing a few things that were cluttering up the jernt to the garage.
-
Listening to an album I had when I was a teen and that I absolutely was obsessed with - it came out in 1963 on RCA - Our Man in Hollywood - with Henry Mancini doing movie themes, including some of his own. Incredible stereo sound especially on CD. Some of the best musicians of that era - the cream of the crop. What fun.
-
In a few minutes, I'll start the spaghetti sauce process.
-
Yes, I will.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
I will not be stopped.
-
But for now, I'll lug these couple of boxes out to the garage.
-
I will not be stopped.
-
Jane, I saw very little of you in your sister, frankly. What I saw in you was something completely unique - no one like you.
-
Get out your handkerchiefs. It’s time for The Bishop’s Wife.
-
I don't want to make waves, but it's beautiful and warm here.
-
I think there's gaslighting going on here.
-
I'm sure there is.
-
And as usual, the second you bring it up...
-
The gaslighters do what they always do...
-
Yep, see? The minute you call them out, they gaslight again by changing the page.
-
Pecan pie is in the oven.
-
I’ll be right over, Ginny.
-
Santa brought a nice present to Arizona in the form of a ruling against Kari Lake.
-
Jane, I saw very little of you in your sister, frankly. What I saw in you was something completely unique - no one like you.
Aren't you sweet.
-
LOL, of course that might not have been a compliment.
-

The original, right?

I wish we were there instead of watching the rain bounce off of a sheet of ice.
-
Pecan pie is in the oven.
Keith would enjoy that.
-
Santa brought a nice present to Arizona in the form of a ruling against Kari Lake.
:)
-
“Du paprika…”
Cary Grant in The Bishop’s Wife
-
I marched around inside until I reached two miles.
-
I should turn music on next time. I want to go at least another mile.
-
Get out your handkerchiefs. It’s time for The Bishop’s Wife.
The original, right?
Yes. The remake is The Preacher’s Wife
-
Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond are said to have polished the script for The Bishop’s Wife. Their work here is better than anything in Kiss Me, Stupid.
-
Get out your handkerchiefs. It’s time for The Bishop’s Wife.
I'm watching the original Miracle on 34th Street!
-
I may watch the remake later.

I forgot about the name change.
-
Bruce, vibes for a great DO tonight. Have fun.
-
DR Ron did any of your old Christmas posts complain about it being this cold?
Not at all. This is surprising to me because one year the temperature never went about 20. Looking back, it was a Christmas when I didn't post much because I was sick most of the time.
Being sick was likely less fun than the cold temps. It does show then that these temps are not unusual which I find interesting.
These are the coldest temps we have had at Christmas in 20 years or so.

Speaking of "gas"...I have gas fireplace logs.
They haven't been fired up by me in the past five years, but my mom used them during wintry power outages.
I know I can stay warm if my power goes out.
-
Are you sure they still work?
-
Our gas fireplace isn't working.
-
Are you sure they still work?
No. A friend has suggested I call for a professional come and check them out and clean them.
I can check them to see if they light. As long as I can turn the gas on and off, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. If they don't light, then I'll call a pro.
-
I hope everyone stays warm and festive over the weekend. Good food, good entertainment and warmth are my go-tos.
Not just for the holidays, but especially during them.
-

We are having our fireplace and heating/AC system checked on Jan 4th. We couldn't get them out sooner.
-
Onward!
-
Eight!
-
Last night we watched the wonderful The More the Merrier.
-
That movie is so funny DR JANE.....
-
Starting Carol for Another Christmas. Henry Mancini’s score is nice.
-
Getting excited about the do....
-
I am watching THE CARDINAL......Mr. Preminger certainly wanted to touch ALL the bases.....
-
Cast includes Ben Gazzara, Sterling Hayden, Steve Lawrence and Robert Shaw.
-
I am watching THE CARDINAL......Mr. Preminger certainly wanted to touch ALL the bases.....
Otto’s touch … yuck.
-
I'm soooo hungry, but I will not touch food until the Do begins - but there there will be NO stopping me.
-
That movie is so funny DR JANE.....
Charles Coburn deserved his best supporting Oscar. As did Jean Arthur for her best actress nomination.

That is self control ;)

Sweet story in the Washington Post. "A puppy was abandoned at an airport. Then a United pilot adopted him."

-
If you can't open it, just google the headline and you can find other links about Polaris.

Got a nice Christmas present in the mail today: drink coupons from Southwest Airlines.
-
:)) Will you use them?
-
You got mail, nice.
-
Did anyone else not get mail delivery today?
-
:)) Will you use them?
Why not? It I remember them.
-
Robert Shaw has just appeared as the Ghost of Christmas Future, as he’s called here.
-
Will need to leave shortly for church.
-
By Wednesday, it’s supposed to be in the 70s again.
-
Looking forward to it
-
:)) Will you use them?
Why not? It I remember them.
Put them in your travel toiletry bag, then maybe you will remember them.
-
By Wednesday, it’s supposed to be in the 70s again.
Lovely. It was supposed to have warmed up some today, didn't happen.
-
DR JANE I got my mortgage payment confirmation.....it's a automatic withdrawal but sometimes I get a paper statement.
An email would be fine.....but that's okay.
-
So you had mail delivery yet we didn't, interesting.
-
Maybe I should double check mail wasn't delivered.
-
Did anyone else not get mail delivery today?
We got mail today, but not yesterday.
-
Thanks.
-
Because Bryan said we should have received a package I double checked at the mailbox. Nothing. I could see the letter I dropped in the outgoing box this morning was still there.
-
I have a package for Keith that arrived a few days ago and I am hiding.
-
Craig woke up feeling crappy, and his heat was out. I was impressed though that someone was there by 10:00 and repaired it by 12:30. Of course when you are sick that is a long time, still faster than most get repairs done this time of year.
-
'night
-
Made it to Christmas Eve services and back, but many of the roads were sheer packed ice. It was really scary.
-
At these temps, the de-icing chemicals don't really work on the roads. And of course, most people drive like damned fools.
-

Glad he has heat.
-
Church was nice. Bells sounded good.
-
Finished Carol for Another Christmas. Very strange. Peter Sellers showed up as a proto-Trump character and head of the ME movement.
-
Now starting Ticket to Paradise.
-
But all the carols were sung, and Silent Night was accompanied by a darkened church with candles passed around.
-
We watched Glass Onion tonight. While a agree with BK's assessment, there was still lots to enjoy. And, DR Jane, it is not necessary to have watched the first movie to enjoy this one.
-
Some years I stay up to watch midnight Mass from the Vatican, but this year, I am heading to bed.
-
Good night, friends.
-
;)

I am of course hoping the dreaded call does not come in the next few days.....about someone who attended the party testing positive.
Well, we got the call that one of the actors in Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol caught Covid! :o
-
I tested myself today and I'm negative.
-
Is the do happening as we speak?
-
Everyone else has also tested negative, so that's good.
-
I am glad everyone who has to go out tonight is getting home safely.
Yes the roads are deceptively treacherous....and yes people drive like idiots.
-
I am watching some DVDs, etc.
I watched Spoiler Alert which is a kind of LOVE STORY for the gay 21st century. It is nice and certainly the medical details are correct as I can attest from personal experience.
Everyone does a nice job. I have not read the book.
Jim Parsons is not a BAD actor, but his face is so......but his face....it is hard to watch sometimes. I am glad I did not see this on the BIG SCREEN.
-
At halftime I’ll make tomorrow’s pecan pie and after dinner I’ll assemble a Christmas morning breakfast casserole. Then I’m going to quit cooking for a while.
What a coinkydink! My mom bought a pecan pie for today. It was quite delish.
-
Black Adam was on HBO but I did not watch it.....I like Dwayne Johnson but I am not sure about this movie.....perhaps tomorrow I will watch it.
-
Merry Christmas to everyone here at HHW. I might fall asleep in a bit and I don't want to miss wishing everyone a happy holiday.
-
I am back home from my do at Debra's.
We had chili and chicken-and-dumplings...and both were made using my Uncle Rock's recipes. My cousin Chad made the chili and said he was told he had to use his grandpa's recipe. The only problem: Rock's recipe didn't say how much of anything he put into it. He tested it as he went along!
I never had any issues with Rock's chili or his chicken-and-dumplings, but I was never wild about them, either. Oh, well.
The present opening was a trip...the little girls had more toys than I have seen at one time...and that's just from the relatives. I cannot imagine what their "Santa Claus" will be like. Of course, both got exactly the identical gift from each relative...this family does everything like that. And whatever one girl opens, the other one wants it to the exclusion of hers that is just like it.
They are four months apart and not yet 2.
-
I ate so much food at the party last night - I only had one piece of pizza today.....still not craving foodstuffs.
-
I scored three gift cards: Two from my country club and one from Walmart. Hooray.
-
It is now a scorching 13 degrees and the wind seems to have decreased.
-
"A Christmas Carol" is on TCM right now. It's the Reginald Owen version.
I prefer the Alistair Sim, but that is on Fox Movie Channel which I no longer get as it was removed from my lineup earlier this year for some unknown reason. I can get it back by purchasing another package of some sort, but I shan't!
-
It is 26 degrees here. Practically a heat wave.
-
Last post this page.
-
Page 10
-
Chicken and dumplings sound wonderful.
-
Chicken and dumplings sound wonderful.
They were good!!!
-
Ticket to Paradise is not great. It’s barely good, but I like spending time with George and Julia.
-
Good evening.
-
I fixed the stuffed shells for tomorrow. I took my daughter out to run her errands. I was setting up the luminarias and the children from next door wanted to help. They are so sweet. I lit the luminarias and walked over to the church for the service. After we got home, we ate cheese and crackers. Then I took my daughter home and I'm unwinding.
-
I went to church tonight and came back with cauliflower and a cassava melon. Apparently the food bank gave us way too much food and they didn’t want it to go to waste. I could have picked up sweet potatoes and cabbage, but I didn’t need either.
-
Starting Metropolitan, Whit Stillman’s first movie. I haven’t seen it since it first came out. Loved it then. The beginning is set at Christmas, so it fits the holiday.
-
Merry Christmas from the Eastern Time Zone.
-
Santa brought a nice present to Arizona in the form of a ruling against Kari Lake.
Hoo and Ray!!
;)
-
“Playing strip poker with an exhibitionist somehow takes the challenge away.”
Great line from Metropolitan
-
Get out your handkerchiefs. It’s time for The Bishop’s Wife.
I'm watching the original Miracle on 34th Street!
A few months ago, I (finally) got the OBC to the musical version, Here's Love.
-
Sweet story in the Washington Post. "A puppy was abandoned at an airport. Then a United pilot adopted him."

That is nice!
-
Did anyone else not get mail delivery today?
There was nothing in my mailbox today, but I don't know if the mail was delivered or not. I assumed that it was...today's not the holiday.
-
Oh, and I'm home. :)
-
We had a very low-key Christmas eve at my mom's.
-
We exchanged gifts.
-
We picked names and only got one item for that one person, no one else...except that we were each supposed to get something for my mom, but I forgot that part. ::)
-
I got my sister's boyfriend's name, and my sister had an extra fleece throw blanket that had a hummingbird on it (he really likes hummingbirds) that was designed by a Native American, that she said that I could give as "my" gift.
-
Fine with me...I couldn't think of anything, anyway.
-
My niece got me an aluminum travel cup with a straw that had the logos of Broadway shows on it (it's really nice!) and a couple of Broadway logo keychains.
-
Made me happy.
-
My mom gave me gift cards from Amazon, Costco and Subway! Made me very happy! :D
-
No covid vibes for George.
-
Sounds like nice Christmas, George.
-
Official Merry Christmas from Texas!
-
Merry Christmas from New York
-
I got to church around 930 to usher for the 10 pm service.
-
I was also a communion assistant
-
And altar guild is always my responsibility
-
Page eleven has made its entrance.
-
I alerted the pastors I was not going to be there to reset after the children s service at or the contemporary but I rest after the 8 pm traditional
-
Page twelve is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Then cleaned up after the service was done
-
On the way I home I pass by the Presbyterian church where a lot of my friends attend
-
I noticed their service was still going on so I parked and slipped in the back
-
The Do is Done and was quite lovely - about fourteen or so folks in attendance, which is kind of what I enjoy most. I did make wayyyyy too much pasta - there must be three POUNDS of it left. Not a huge amount of sauce left, though. Some tuna pasta salad left and also the entire second bit batch, so I can eat that for the next few days.
-
More in the notes.
-
Must do a bit of cleanup now.
-
Because I was in the back I was the first on3 to shake the Reverends hand on my out.
-
Lots of desserts.
-
He Saudi you look familiar. I explained I drop by from time to time but belong to the Lutheran church abd stopped in because I know a lot of people in his congregation
-
Then the next dozen people coming down the aisle stopped to shout my name and hug me
-
The minister said you weren’t kidding about knowing people here
-
And I got to do the candlelight Silent Night sing twice at two different churches
-
And to all, a good night.
-
Bruce, you can freeze cooked pasta.
-
Put the noodles in freezer bags or containers. They will keep for 3 months.When you want to have some, thaw them in the refrigerator, then heat them in boiling water or in the microwave.
-
Have enjoyed reading about everyone’s Christmas activities tonight.
It was only 12 degrees here.
I stayed in.
-
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
-
Looking forward to hearing all about The Do!
Now I’m in the mood for spaghetti.
-
No covid vibes for George.
Thanks, John!
-
Sounds like nice Christmas, George.
It was. :)
-
Then the next dozen people coming down the aisle stopped to shout my name and hug me
Sweet!
-
Even though I’m not going to my sisters tomorrow, I agreed to make my famous shrimp dip, since everyone complained last year that they didn’t get any. The hospital wouldn’t let me make any.
-
I told my sister I needed to have verification with someone was going to be picking it up for me tomorrow before the party at her house. Otherwise I’m gonna be stuck eating shrimp dip sandwiches all day tomorrow.
-
So, naturally I got no phone call from my sister today. So, I have no idea if anyone’s going to be picking it up or not. So, if they are I have no idea what time they’re going to pick it up.
-
I finished watching THE GLASS ONION tonight. I really enjoyed the movie. Sorry, that’s just me.
-
Merry Christmas!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
And where, pray tell and tell pray, is George? Down some rabbit hole?
